Nairaland GeneralRe: Top 10 Billionaires That Dropped Out Of School by ucnduka(f): 12:18pm On Apr 29, 2013
These people did not become successful because they dropped out of school rather they succeeded because they had a good foundation, saw a need and were not afraid to pursue the answers they found to the need. I believe they wld still be very wealthy if they had graduated because their they were confident to pursue their passions and not the supposed gratification that follows getting a degree. My point is, whether u get a college degree or not, pursue ur passion as long as it answers a human need,u'ld most likely succeed.
P.S: d pple in qxn, dropped out from d university, not primary or secondary school. They had a solid foundation. In Nigeria, alot of emphadsis is placed on university education, I believe if more attention is placed on primary and secondary education such that the minds of students wld be sharpened and enlightened, maybe the clamour for a university degree wld reduce.

idontgiveafuck: my sista dat wan na serious wahala oh. I personally think it is wrong to get married because of personal problems.
Na real serious wahala, people just get married for a whole lot of reasons...from the right reason to the dumbest of reasons...its pathetic!
FamilyRe: Why Are Nigerians Obsess With Marriage Sef? by ucnduka(f): 6:42am On Mar 26, 2013
biolabee: So is it only Nigeria that people marry for the afore mentioned reasons

SMH
The question was asked about Nigerians... if it was abt why people generally were obsessed with marriage,I wldn't even mention Nigeria. SMH for you too....
FamilyRe: Why Are Nigerians Obsess With Marriage Sef? by ucnduka(f): 1:19am On Mar 26, 2013
I think the reason why Nigerians are obessed with marriage is this, for a long time marriage was relatively the only instituition that was working in Nigeria until recently when it started failing. Many Nigerians believe marriage is the cure to alot of issues e.g. If as a young girl you don't have a job yet,u are advised to get married to solve your economic problem; if you are depressed, you are told to get married cos you'll be happy somehow;if there's a wayward brother or uncle in d family,he his advised to get married so that he can change his ways; infact if you are a christain that its unserious with church,it is believed that when u get married u'ld become serious...yes,in Nigeria, marriage is d answer to every young person's problem thats why they are obsessed with it.

FamilyRe: Nigeria Records 11,600 Maternal Deaths In 3 Months.......( WOW ) by ucnduka(f): 12:39am On Mar 26, 2013
I know we all want to blame the government and the doctors but the picture is alot bigger than this.Alot of factors contribute to maternal mortality and I can say this from experience.
1. Alot of Nigerian women are not empowered socially and economically to make decisions as regards to their health...I've seen women who are at d verge of dying that would still insist on waiting for their absentee husband's final say before making a health decision.
2. Most women belive their religious leaders more than they trust their doctors...seriously alot of work has to be done to encourage pastors, prophets, evangelists, imams and all to stick to encoraging people on issues on faith and not medically related issues.
3. Most women in Nigeria sha dont practice birth preparedness.
4. TBAs are not helping issues...they just dont know when they are in situations they cannot handle...I've seen a 22yr old die because d TBA did not know when to stop by the time she was rushed to the teaching hospital her vessels were collapsed cos she had lost alot of blood.
5. Economy: now, this is where the government comes in. our economy is so bad, that poor pple would want to cut corners and not register for ante natal care or if dey do,still run to TBAs when its time to deliver. Doctors in private clinics still cut corners because they want to survive the economy(as a one who is almost leaving medical school I hate this cos its annoying and gives the profession a mad name).
6. The corruption of the Nigerian govt just like it has crippled oda sectors is not helping the health sectore. Most primary health centres are just buildings without basic equipments and don't let me start talking about the inadequacies in the secondary and tetiary health centres.
Also, there so many bureucratic bottlenecks in the health sector today infact the current policies are enough for me to write another long post.
Finally, herein lies the hope:
1. Girl child education: we think alot are being trained, but alas we need to do more. we shld empower d girl child from home...lets try to brak them away from the shackles of cultural and religious beliefs.
2. Improve on medical training: I think the current MDCN is working on it, cos right now medical school is currently run on stiff policies tthat have been put in place by the current board.
3. Funding...we need to involve all these wealthy individuals that can afford to splash 20mill on anoda man's wedding cos its obvious the government does not have the political will to help the health sector.
4. In 2015,lets do our country a huge favour and sweep out clueless leaders from power.
P.S: sorry for the long post.
PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by ucnduka(f): 10:28am On Mar 24, 2013
17threads down and all I can see are supposedly informed young Nigerians killing themselves over the achievements of a man who died at a ripeful old age...whether this thread gets to 100 pages or not,Achebe was honored while alive and will be honored even his death and that is a fact. That being said,as young Nigerians lets not forget that most of our founding fathers and so called elders have failed our country and endangered our future,so instead of arguing about thier achievements,we should rather start forming new ideals to make our nation better...tribalism and bigotry would make us redundant and its unfortunate that this thread like many others on NL reeks of it.

Lenny5000: I voted for the Video and hope it wins. I have so much love and respect for Funmi Inyanda after watching this clip... I was almost in Tears watching her struggle with tears too.. Hope to meet her someday

As for my Nigerian people, I already know they have long taken Judgement from the hands of GOD so on Judgement day it will be the millions of Holy Nigerians that will be doing the Judgement.. But before we get to that time, I pray Nigerians use their strong passion to fix the country, stop corruption, fix the roads, Build hospitals, create jobs and fix the Power problem. Bless
Why do we always do this? Seriously, why do we always think that we have to wait till we finish constructing roads, fixing phcn, create jobs, build hospitals before we can talk about things like legalizing or supporting gays in Nigeria? Abeg, whether our roads are bad or we hv no jobs, infact no matter how much grammar we speak or write ,I and many oda so called hypocritical Nigerians(mind u,u guys don't believe u're being judgemental) would not be a party to making sometin which is naturally skewed,straight...keep on deceiving urselves.
PoliticsRe: No Amnesty For Boko-Haram - President Jonathan by ucnduka(f): 8:35pm On Mar 07, 2013
Why should they even spew amnesty from their mouths biko? GEJ should be talking of serving justice for those who were killed mercilessly...I'm just tired of this PDP govt where all sorts of criminals even terrorists are/would be paid money from the national treasury for their atrocities instead of facing justice...amnesty?seriously?

PoliticsRe: Delta Govt Votes ₦7.4bn To Demolish Hills Around Airport In 10 Days by ucnduka(f): 8:59pm On Apr 11, 2012
To those saying that uduaghan has done well, may God forgive you. Even the nursery school children know that Delta state is being despoil.d by the govt led by uduaghan and this 7.4bill for clearing non-existent hills is another clear indication.I went past that airport on sunday and I can tell clearly that there are no hills worth that sum of money. It is rather unfourtunate that despite the broad day light robbery going on in the state,Deltans have chosen to sleep on...and as a young Deltan,I weep everyday for my beloved state.
