After filling the eligibility form, I was found eligible to apply for EE. I filled out my profile and submitted only for me to be notified that my profile is ineligible.
What could be the possible problem? Has anyone experienced this in the past? please respond. |

Blackbuddy: The husband lands and activates his PR status, the wife can meet him there (airport/land boder) and have hers done the same day thereby changing her status from student visa to PR or she can get it done later. Her activating her PR voids her student status. Sounds reasonable enough, thanks! I was going to dive into the pool this week as I've got my ECA and IELTS with good enough points but my fiance and I thought it best to go in together, we're getting married next year but she'll be back in December for our introduction and court wedding. We expect to get ITA on the first draw after the court wedding is done. Gathered almost all our documents and its possible to submit within a week of ITA. My question is, hope this won't seem shady as the date on the marriage certificate would be recent as though we did the marriage for the sole purpose of migration, which isn't the case Anyone been in a similar situation and gotten PPR? |

so if one's wife is in Canada already on a student visa and the PA, being the husband, is required to land first in Canada, what happens? |

Santino1: 1. Yes, you can enter your BSc and indicate that only MSc was assessed. In hierarchy, MSc > BSc and you'll get the point for MSc regardless of whether your BSc was evaluated.
2. Any job experience you are not gonna provide reference for shouldn't go in your work history. Post ITA, you can enter them in personal history.
Hope that answers your question. This answers my questions, thanks alot. |

UdomoLeinad: Greetings peeps!
Two things please
1. this question goes to post-ITA applicants who only evaluated their Masters degree When filling the EE profile, under educational history, I see the I can make entries of both my MSc and BSc, indicating that no ECA was done for the BSc. I want to know though, is it necessary to enter the BSc? If I do, I hope down the line I won't be required to provide supporting docs asides certificate.
2. I concluded MSc in Dec 2011, worked from Jan 2012 till Sept 2013 on a job I'm not claiming points for. I intend to claim points for the job I began Oct 2013. I don't need to enter any information about the first job under work history since it doesn't count towards anything, or do I? I ask because I want to know whether the almost 2 year gap would be an issue down the line. I read sth on the previous thread about closing gaps for work history so one wouldn't get an ADR, or sth like that, can't recall vividly. so do gaps matter?
Experts and Semi-experts please answer.
Thank you! |

Hephgirl: na wa....the consistent listening... So what did u do differently So you know you can always tell whether you're screwed or not, right? I always knew when I was! During the first test, I failed to read one of the instructions. It said "which of the speakers made this statement". I don't know what on earth made me think "which speaker agrees with this statement", and trust me that changed everything. I didn't realise my mistake until 5 questions later. I knew I was in for it, and that further disconcerted me on the remaining part of the test. I was just not composed anymore. On the second one, the beloved maps messed me up. I hadn't really encountered many maps so I didn't practice much for it and voila there it was. On top of that, I failed to follow the speaker while he was speaking. He started by saying "On this floor we have art galleries, cafes...", and because of gra gra I carelessly entered my first answer, not realising he was only listing all that was present on the floor, no specifics. Of course, after realising my mistaking seconds later, I just became overwhelmed like "oops, I did it again" and I got so worried thereby missing important information all through the description of the map and trust me I don't do so well when Im worried. I knew I needed full concentration for the third. I was sure I didn't have problems with the listening save for concentration issues so 5 practice tests later, i was ready to face it and all I did differently was to focus my mind WHOLLY on the test during the test. I told myself I wouldn't let my mind wander. Most of us actually just have concentration issues. Like I said, you always know when you've done well or when you've been screwed over, and I was chuffed afterwards, thank God. You cant imagine how frustrating it was to never have gotten less than an 8 during my listening practice tests, but to fall short only during the main tests. I was surprised about reading though, I never got up to a 9 on any of my practice tests but three times I wrote the test I had 9s so we just can't understand these things. Ill conclude by saying, after you've done your practice test, do your corrections judiciously. Take it as seriously as the test itself. Listen to the speaker again when checking the answers to see why you missed what you missed. The corrections must be done judiciously. I'm not sure I've helped enough but may God be with you and grant your breakthrough on your next test. Amen! |

Mavor: I sent an email to NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca requesting for advise on my NOC classification and apparently that email is not officially used anymore. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
On another note, can anyone who had his or her IELTS on the 14th please comment on their experience. In my own case, I think it went exceptionally well. I blasted the LRW part of it. Sure of the max points there. I have concerns about my S though which I had on the day before. Was a bit nervous in the early stages but picked up as things went on. Can't blame myself though, it's been a while since I last wrote an exam. As such, I was a bit rusty. 14th exam was alright, although writing was bleh, it'll take the grace of God to get up to a 7, was far from composed. LRS went well |

Blackbuddy: You can obtain the reference letter in the guise of a visit visa application and have it addressed to the High Commission in Nigeria, it is acceptable and you can butter things up by attaching a letter of explanation that the ref letter was prepared in that way so as not to jeopardise your current employment and working relationship with your company at this time. It is widely understood by IRCC and the VOs that not everybody is able to openly pursue PR applications and receive the assistance of their employers for it. I appreciate |

Please I need advice on this.
I submitted a request for a reference letter to the HR in my organization through my director and he returned it, telling me to state where the letter would be addressed to and for what purpose I needed one. The problem is, I dont intend to reveal my intention to obtain a Canadian PR. Is there anyway around this? For instance, can I state that I intend to apply for a Canadian visa and as such have them address it to the Deputy High Commission in Lagos? But then will IRCC have a problem seeing the reference letter addressed to the High Commission?
Please advice
thank you! |

einsteino: I also had a weakness for maps. In my case, after much practice, i identified the problem to be a lack of familiarity with the descriptive words used to give directions. its not like i never heard them before but i was having about 2 seconds lag in picking them up. what i did was to study them and practice till my brain didnt need to buffer to figure the directions.
it is also important to figure the likely starting point in a map before the speaker starts, also try and relate the various locations to each other.
for lectures, your problem isnt the lecture, it is the question type (Multi choice questions), it is quite difficult processing all that information in the options while keeping up with the speaker. since the answer is always paraphrased, you have to listen to understand rather just lookin out for the right option. it is a herculean task to me and I havent found a panacea yet; sometimes i get lucky to follow up, other times i find myself hanging.
another nightmare for me is "matching" question type, the ones with more options than questions. again my problem is processing all those options at a go, i have tried writing the words i hear then checking for the option that fits much later, but there is hardly enough time to write.
Hopefully, someone would hint us on techniques that works fine for these. Haha! I was just reading my exact predicaments in your post. The matching question type is not as problematic as maps and multiple choice. I really appreciate this. 1 |

nnekdre: I would say for section 2 which is map is to practice practice practice. Get use to directions. That is left and right side and North south east West. I suggest you map them out mostly left and right side on your map immediately your starting point is pointed out. Then give your full attention and follow direction. They sometimes have some street names or locations in map to help you navigate your self e.g the store is opposite the library , quickly look for the position of the library then u will know the building opposite it will be the store and that could be the answer. For the section three i will say underline key points . Try and read each sentence during the short break and underline key points.it will help you know when exactly the speaker is talking about that sentence to enable you know the answer. Note that the questions don't always come word by word but synonyms so you have to be good in that too.
Hope it helped Thank you very much. Underlining key points in section 3 is good point to note. I appreciate |

I think you guys need to write the IELTS first and then do an evaluation of each of your profiles to know who'd have the highest points. My guess would be him though cos of the work experience he'll claim. here's the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asplovetree: Hello house. How is everyone doing. May our dreams come true. Please I need your experienced input on this. My husband and I are planning to apply for FSW but we don't know who the principal applicant should be. We both plan to write IELTS and have our WES evaluation .We both have a B.Sc as our highest qualification, He studied Electrical Engineering and works in that line with over 5 years working experience. I studied Microbiology but work as a customer service rep with 3 years working experience in one of the telecom companies. I'll be 30 next year and my husband will be 37. I'm thinking of applying since I can get more points with my age but I'm worried my NOC will affect our points. His own line of work is in NOC B while my own is not even considered for FSW as I cant find it under NOC A,B or O for FSW. Thank you for your anticipated responses. |

Greetings all! a few questions please...
While filling the EE form, under work history, is there need to enter in jobs i wont be able to provide reference letters for? kindly advice!
Also, concerning the provinces one intends to reside in, does what one fill in affect anything as my fiance is living in ontario and i intend to live there too but i wouldn't want to restrict myself on the application so i checked about 4 boxes. And certainly dont want to use the pnp route, too expensive for me.
Finally, if Ive got about 7 months validity left on my passport at the time its ready to be stamped (Speaking by faith grin), will they require me to get a new one at that time, immigration wont renew a passport with 7 months validity on it, i reckon.
looking forward to helpful answers |

"Given names" means first name and middle name on the IELTS form but you have nothing to worry about cos you'll be given a name correction form on the test day to include your middle name and your results will come out with your full name. I don't have enough experience to answer the other questions so ill leave it to the elders to handle mike070: Hello all. Good morning. Pls I have submitted all my credentials to wes and my status is now showing evaluation. I have also registered to take ielts exam on the 19th of this month. When I was registering for ielts there was no column for middle name so i used just my first name n last name. Hope no problem. Also my name was wrongly spelt in my international passport. The correct one is Michael not Micheal. How do I go about that. Thanks guys. |

That's very true. Jah bless boldinc: Well... it's less than 4 years, so I'll say 2 - 3 years... You should note though that they mean all work experience cumulative. So if you have others besides this company, then it would be 4 -5 years.
For example... Adding NYSC if you haven't, makes it 4 - 5 years. |

Not for the work experience in Canada. I'm not using the crs calculator now, I'm checking eligibility for the EE. The question asks how many years experience I've had within the past 10 years, the options are "none, less than one, one, two to three, four to five, six or more". boldinc: Do you mean work experience in Canada? If not, 4 to 5 years doesn't matter... 3 years gives you the maximum points for work experience in Nigeria... |
