Hello, please I just want to inquire about life in Rostock, the people, job opportunities, coat of living ET Al. Especially, in the engineering field... Thanks.

Rostock is a city in the state of Mecklenburg, it is the second largest city in the state, it is following the largest I.e. state capital called Schwerin..
Rostock is relatively industrialized (Not as much as Paparazzi cities like Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt etc, but more than plenty others). It has many higher institutions and research organizations, as wel as very beautiful landscape and tourist attractions. There are job opprtunites of various fields, but easier accessed when u can speak Deutsch even if it's at basic level ( I don't mean Guten Morgen or alles gut), when u can't then u have to search for the unskilled jobs like supermarket cleaners or hotel room cleaner, advert distributor etc. Cost of living is not so expensive as in the cties of Berlin, Hamburg or Munich, ( example u can find single-person apartment for 300 euro monthly with heat and water bill inclusive, but can hardly find same in the aforementioned cities).
Blacks or Nigerians are very rare in the city, but it is 2hrs away to Hamburg a city where very very very plenty of Nigerians and African people are found.
The people? The people are normal German people!!!!!!!!!!.....
Uns geht's sehr gut in Rostock.
Viele Gruße...

I have been living in a city here in Germany where you rarely see a single black yet I still have never seen any shadow of the so called racism.
The point is that our people are extremely ignorant to understand the actual meaning of racism..
For those reading this mesaage let me tell you what rasicm is and where u can find it majorly. Highest form of racism in this world is found in Africa against Africans,
Southafricans have been killing and burning other Africans with the reason that they must leave thier country, that is racism..Ghana also recently started chanting similar song of "leave our land" that is racism ... the worst is in Nigeria-When a Southeast or South South graduates can not find job in a FEDERAL or state govt agency in the north just bicos he or she is not from north or has no direct uncle dia..same applies to agencies in the south against the North, this applies to both admissions, internships placements, etc... the "worstest" is when an imo state man will open mouth and tell fellow imo state man that certain slots for job is only for people from Orlu(rochas village) and u see dem share it only among orlu people. In Kaduna a southern kaduna man will see northern kaduna man as not same with him.
What I see here in Germany is directly opposite to the so called racism some ignorant people are shouting there. For those here who ignorantly misuse that word racism, check well it's either they don't have document to stay in Germany and when they are handled according to the global laws on illegal migration, they start shouting racism. Then for the very few who have papers but still shout rasicm, check well it's either they are lawbreakers and yet expect romance(which is not possible here) or they didn't go to the required language school and learn it well, yet they want to be accepted in jobs that are meant for people who speak it.
ibrahimdoc:

Really? Where are you in Germany racism is rife here bro

thanks a million sir.
Really not much but HSE certifications.
Also did few professional courses on Aspen Hysis, CHEMCAD etc.
Started Database (OCA) with AFRIHUB but yet to write the professional exams.
please never try visit visa migration with these harnessable qualifications you have! Let me guide you more. Its true that unfortunately you have no work experience which is a factor, however you are extremely trainable and can still sell yourself to companies abroad.. Listen prepare a short vedio CV and a softcopy CV, please lay emphasises on what you have done or can perform with these trainings, relate it to the individual companies' operations, this means you need customised CVs for each company...
Do that massively, especially for German, Canada(skilked labour is hardly enough here)..
Good luck..
There must be rewards for distinguishing yourself in academic and professional endeavours...look for them

Not a work permit. I meant a student work permit issued by another EU country, say, working with a Romanian student work permit in Germany during the holidays.
Hey I said EU work permitsssss(no exception mentioned) student work permits included.
Mind you that Romania is EU but not a Schengen country so no free movement for you from there to Germany without a Visa!!!

Can you attend to the other question??

I guess it's the photocopy they are going to legalize??
yes it's the copy but the originals must be sighted..
Yes EU work permits are recognised in Germany, once you present it, another temporary one will be issued to you.

Thank you sir. I tried applying for most of the scholarships I came across but the ASUU strike affected the process as I could not get my transcript. The most annoying was chievening and a few others like that.
Am just hoping to continue since the strike is over as no Academic staff was ready to sign my transcript during the strike.
However, leaving Nigeria this year is my utmost priority and the reason for the thread.
yeah it's a pity the damage the strike and system entirely are causing people...I am happy you are resuming the scouting...do more ok, day and night..try www.DAAD.de opportunities there are much..yes I share you stark resolve to leave the so called country, but I would not like you to follow the visit visa route and end up suffering with your first class...
That's why you should exhaust all academic possibilities.
May I ask rada softly...do u have any skill outside your degree? Skills relating to your discipline, either in terms of certification or training course?
Travel / Re: What Good Country Can I Relocate With One Million Naira by Ugoerico(m): 9:39pm On Feb 14, 2019
Sounds good.
I advice you channel good efforts in looking for any of the so many scholarship schemes scattered all over the world..you should be lucky!
If the hard way seems the only way then you try Germany or Poland...
Idea behind the two choices is High survival rate and easy chances of documents RESPECTIVELY!!

I don't know why we Nigerians derive plesure in scaring others from making attempts to be where they are, most annoyingly when it comes to travel!
If you like tell them that they need to be a living angel before they can succeed in Germany! Mind you that you are never God!! And uncountable number of people are working in different cities of Germany without these things you mentioned. Neither are you Job Center or Bundesamt!
Note: before you further talk less or none sense, I am a full legal resident of Germany!
bamdexfarms:
The basic rules of getting a job in Germany are:

1. Have at least a B1in german language.
2. Have a science, IT or engineering background.
3. Or irrespective of your course, make sure you learn skills like Java script, big data, python or Matlab. IT skills are well sought after here.
4: Enough cash to get by.

Please take the language skills seriously. Germans feels uncomfortable around you if you don't speak Deusch. Only the younger ones, 35 years and below speaks little English.
If possible, avoid cities in east Germany. Cities like Berlin and North Rhein Westphalia are great places to get jobs. But they are quite expensive.

Racism still exists in Germany/Europe. So you'll need a "thick skin" to survive.

Danke Schon. Tchuss.

To be on the safe side take a one month insurance to cover your travel period. I think that's the minimum duration most companies sell. AIICO is good or Mansard I have used both and had no issues.
I would suggest you use Lagos to be on the safe side.

MaroCruz thanks a lot, remain blessed OK.
Please shebi I wil just pay for the number of days that I want to stay in Germany, 4 days..
Secondly why I was particular confused about weda Lagos or Abuja is that I work with a Federal Govt research institute and I have got an approval and sponsorship by my institute to go and present, thus is it stil Lagos? Cos u said abuja is for govt,am I among? Or is my case among?
MaroCruz:

1. Visa application should be Lagos, Abuja is used for official/government purposes and of recent for students residing in Abuja. Those who fall outside this category have to use Lagos.

2. Yes Business Visa can do, confirm yourself from https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/germany-visa/

3. As far as they issue travel insurance, no problem. Although, you can search for a better one

Please House help,
My younger brother just got an Australia one year E-visitor visa and we are about to pay the agent an agreed amount of 1m. But we just discovered that the visa has Norway as the passport country (meaning that my brother is holding a Norway passport)..
All other details such as name and passport number is valid and the visa has been verified valid too.
My question is this? Wil they allow him pass at the POE when he presents a Nigerian passport while his visa stated that he has a Norway passport?
Remember that e-visitor visa was gotten without a biometric, it is when u enter that u are captured.

Now we have called the attention of the agent and he said yes they used a Norway contact to process the visa that it was worked in a way that my brother had gone to Norway. He also said lawyers there wil b at the Poe to ensure he passes...
Please advise..
Should he travel with it?
please can the lawyers to welcome him do anything for him in poe, and can he declear for asylum if he starts having issues with the Poe immigration, the agent is stil insisting that many have traveled tru this, that the immigration wil now see u as coming from Norway that he is going to give us a residence permit of Norway to attach as evidence. Nawa
