Ohraykon: Can we just boycott them like we are doing to UK presently. Trump is the reason for dis no doubt! Nigerians should leave their America for them and go elsewhere Germany will gladly accept you as an international student The Nordic countries will accept you gladly even South Africa and countries in the far east Canada is another alternative Let Trump continue harassing foreign talent in20 years America will feel the effect of it.... |

KingOfAllIgbos: Just give up and try to make the best of this country.
Yes i know the IN thing is to run, but if these Westerners too ran, their countries wouldn't be as great as they are today.
Germany & Japan were already World Leaders before World War II. They were decimated, but they never gave up. They worked as one and they are currently world powers now.
People will say "they have a system that works" But the system wasn't given to them by God, they worked for it.
These denials would continue to increase. That's for sure.
PS - i wanted to go for a Masters at Johns Hopkins. Got a reject and i was like, "there are better ways to spend $63,000" The Masters i got at OAU cost me like $1400 in total (500k naira for the Executive program) coming from a tribalist like you ? I am shocked, surprised and impressed at the same time |

gentlebullet: Lol.... How is Abidjan Bro? i will be in town on 7th April for workshop....... if you will be in town lets relate (ezekiellabi35@gmail.com) Concerning entry stamp extension for Gh... if it were few months back, it was easy walking into any Regional or District immigration office for extension to stay without any wahala and the fee is Ghc20 but since our brothers & sisters started misbehaving and the authorities now have interest on what every Nigerian is doing in the country, the vetting of the applicant isn't child play and processing RP comes with lots of documentation. The easiest way to go about it now is few days to the expiration of the 60days, the person should board an Aflao bound bus, go to the immigration desk at the border to stamp-out of Ghana then stamp-in at the Togo side, go do some sightseeing at the Beach side in Lome and window shopping at the Lome market for an hour or two then return to the border to stamp-out of Togo and then Stamp-in to Ghana for another 60days, go to the bus park and return to Accra. This will ease the stress of going to answer plenty questions at the immigration office especially if the person is a youth. the financial implication won't be more than Ghc100(Tfare Ghc60 to & fro, Ghc10 each at the immigration desks). we dey o Planning that my annyal waka as usual that takes me to many countries Dakar April; Ghana in May |

RTSC: Like I said before, I hope it is not going to be philosophers, economists or sociologists alone, even though they are cheaper.
We need accomplished foreign engineers and applied scientists lecturing in our schools.
That is where the greatness is. we need the economists, sociologist and psychologist too.... we need a balance that cuts across fields.... Economics is a very important field, and we need more solid economists in Nigeria we need a whole range of fields, not just the science ones |

Niorte: But the root cause is because people like Tinubu gather the Commonwealth of the people for themselves only. That's why some young ones are into Yahoo.
Even though I don't support such scamming, we must deal with the root cause of problems not symptoms. If there are jobs and well paid jobs, some of these yahoo guys will not do it.
If our society celebrate honesty and hardwork, some won't go into yahoo.
We must inculcate good and high moral standards if we want to see decline in numbers of yahoo persons you have spoken well |

I am also wondering how the children would have hidden the travel plan up until the very day. this story DOES NOT add up. neither do they issue without father's consent it has to be BOTH PARENTS Hence this story get K Leg |

ifyalways: Storytime !!!!
How was he able to apply for visa and fly with the children without the wifes/mothers consent?
In the 0.2% chance that this is true, the wife only needs to send an email with the children's birth certificate/immunization cards, attach evidences which the man have generously supplied her( pictures in Australlia etc) and they will be on the next flight to lagos.
Bottomline : Story time that was what I was thinking myself there is NO WAY minors can travel without both parents approving Davido almost got himself into trouble when he tried this |

Jokerman: These happened in my neighborhood
A couple got marrried about 4 years ago. They have two kids( A boy and a girl). The man works with a telecoms company as an engineer while the wife works as a banker. Two years later, the man discovered that his wife was cheating on him, Buh his wife never knew that the man was in the know because he never asked her about it, however he was gathering evidence.
All through this while, though the man was planning to go overseas without telling anyonr not even his wife....
Two days ago, it was learnt the man had traveled to Australia with his two kids, and leaving his wife behind without telling her..
The wife was judging that the man was wicked etc.. The man now forwarded photos, text messages, DNA results of his 2 kids to the family as he said he won't be returning to Nigeria anytime soon...
Now isn't this too much of revenge against the wife.... I felt he should have divorced her or asked her about the cheating etc...instead of just disapearing like that with the kids
What do y'all think... Can you do this or something worse?? how did he leave this country with the kids without consent of the wife? how can minors be allowed to leave the country without consent from both parents? This country is fvcked and that man very stupid (that is if this story is true ) Young kids for that matter he would have divorced her, and probably gained custody of the kids while granting the mum visiting rights? What sort of fvckery is this? The woman should report him ASAP |

emkz: Bros, a PhD is a tough endeavour. If you have not gone through it, don't downplay the efforts of those who have. Eminent Professors like Muyiwa Falaiye, Jim Unah, Charles Soludo, Ike Mowete, Sophie Oluwole (Mamalawo) and a host of others bagged their PhDs in Nigerian universities and they can hold their own anywhere in the world.
If you think Helene Paul is unworthy of the doctorate, well, having being in the university system for more than 15 years, I can tell you for a fact that no university in Nigeria would award a PhD to someone who is unqualified. It would injure their reputation. I have a PhD myself and I know what i am talking about. The Professors that assess your thesis would make you sweat your pants. A PhD is a venture that goes beyond academic brilliance. You need resilience, self-motivation, falling down, getting up, challenging norms, defending your views to pull it through. I struggled as everyone else I know who has a PhD. It even got to a stage, I started interrrogating my advisors and questioned their theories. It earned me their respect, but one of them hates me till today.
The only issue I have with Helene Paul is that she felt the need to prove herself by stating she's the first female stand-up comedian to bag a PhD because this gives people like you the right to think that obtaining a PhD na beans. If you think it is so easy, enrol for one, and when a Professor gives you a scientific problem to solve wey fit give you hypertension if you think am too much, humility would become second nature to you.
Celebrate people when they succeed because you don't know their struggles. You too shall be celebrated. If you have nothing positive to say, simply ignore. You have said it all. |

Deji63: No need to get personal. I feel as though this might be Helen Paul but I do have a PhD from Chicago Illinois. So when I say it's all about the title and greasing in Nigeria I know what I am on about. Nigerian Doctorate Degree Holders are majorly a bunch of idle hands with nothing to do other than acquiring titles that do not match their intellectual abilities when u have a one on one with them. It's the honest truth. Bitter but true. I'm surprised you are saying this Yes a good number of PhD guys in Nigeria get comma but much more are sound especially from my alma mater university of Lagos some of them develop themselves to standard and are currently on post docs abroad it's a function of the person really |

magicminister: As far as I’m concerned, convenient university is the best school in Nigeria. It’s still evolving and has to do away with some practices and learn new practices but I can see a school with a vision to be the best in Africa and maybe the world someday.
Hiring foreign professors to lead research while teaching in Nigeria will greatly open up the marketability of the University and increase the variety of talent pool groomed by the university!
P.s. I went to a federal school where I was abused and mistreated and victimized by lecturers who now make less than the guys that man my gate. It is well.
I strongly encourage all parents with university aged kids to try private universities or go abroad. Don’t kill your child’s talent in federal unis. You have said it all. The wahala and rot in federal uni is TOO MUCH! |
