Corrinthians: Now, take a census of the tribe of those who'd comment on this thread, you'd see Yorubas would hardly bother about it, and that is because IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS.
Let a similar situation occur somewhere in Yorubaland and you'd see these people who tend to always know more about Yoruba business, THAN YORUBAS THEMSELVES, flood the thread with their nauseating bile.
It's a shame how they've made Lagos state their PRIMARY occupation in life, and Ambode whom they hated with so much passion, their newly adopted god.
Sucks to be them. what is this one saying again? |

Both governorship aspirants in Oyo state's major parties are youth, gradually the youths are taking over. Deal with it. exactly I gotta say, I like how you think |

Check forbes A house of less than 500k in the US has better Quality and structure than that of 5,10M dollars in some places in Naija that is precisely my point. Overpriced junk Nigeria has mediocrity in its blood. At least with the billions of dollars in Nigeria, at least we should have elite areas the standard of Bel-Air, Calabasas The Hills, Hyde park or those elite parts of Miami Dade in Nigeria but look ar the junk they have as elite places Places wey flood wan finish, smelling canal and blocked drainage no central water or even electric system Yeye $hithole |

They make their money and convert their street and apartment into the America you see on TV. is it the mediocre places you think are "posh" areas in Nigeria you want to compare with elsewhere? Compare the highbrow areas of Nigeria with highbrow areas elsewhere and you would know that Nigeria is still a joke for the rich |

Fair enough, the country isn't doing well, but the exaggeration by these folks is obnoxious. Besides, I don't ever think there can be anywhere that can be better than home. However, I must admit I came out a little too harsh on those lines. That said, you need to understand that having prejudiced views of a person based on his tribe alone is HATE...
And all forms of hate - bitterness, acrimony, resentment and cynicism - spring from casting blames.
I only wanted to lead him away from that path...
Blames devalue a man. I'm not winning because you are losing; you are not winning because I'm losing. The sun rises for everyone in the East and sets for everyone in the West. Only some are born on hilltops, others in tunnels...

CoolAmbience: Large minds never think enmity should linger forever.
I won't blame you because the consensus thinking of the average Nigerian is that every well-to-do businessman 'shortchanged' the system.
As an entrepreneur, I have met Alhaji Aliko Dangote at different fora where he shared his story with us, young entrepreneurs. It will be unwise to ignore what I heard from the man himself, in the presence of stakeholders of the same system whom we accuse of enriching him, detailing how much he and other businessmen of his era struggled and toiled amidst 'killing' bank interest rates of over 40%, to successfully build and expand their businesses; and believe mere hearsay from just anyone.
How do you mean you know Alhaji Dangote than I do? When we hardly know each other?
Anyways, people are at liberty to think whatever they want to think. a virtual encounter with him changed my own life too and my perception of it And I like his sense of humor too, as he took no offense whatsoever , or carried the airs of the average insecure big man in Nigeria And by the grace of God, I'm keying into his vision, and you should too |

franchasng: lolz, I love your comment. Anyway, u are right most popular Nigerians got popular through family push, and reason I don't fancy people using them as role models for youths.
Yes they are successful but they are not worthy role models to encourage majority of Nigerian youths who come from very poor family background.
Maybe Dangote and his likes can be used as role models to rich Nigerian kids like Otedola's daughter DJ Cuppy, Abiola's kids and their likes but not a good role model for majority of Nigerians who were born without a shoe nor roof.
Same goes with Chimamanda and many others like them.
We need to celebrate more of people who made fortune from scratch!
People who built their wealth from poverty!
Tomorrow now, Adenuga's son Paddy Adenuga will come out to brag how they made it on their own, how pls These people are totally wrong role models for our yourhsy, my take and thanks for your subtle comment now I understand your perspective But still, the poor and disenfranchise can still look up to them, and see them as a bench Mark for which they can achieve and even surpass But then, a lot of dreams in our home land (land of the rising sun) and even in Lagos, is the PhD syndrome prevalent in Nigeria lots of youths are putting the effort, but the black man factor (whether its jealous relatives, wicked lecturers or wicked bosses) are just out there killing dreams But one must not give up |

First off, no billionaire is self-made! Musk? OK, why didn't he become a billionaire in South Africa? Bill Gates? Ever heard of the IBM coup? I could go on and on, but no. You only need one book. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Comment again after you've read it...
On a second thought, your propensity to dish out useless propaganda can only be matched with your rank jealousy.
You must be leading a bitter life. Learn to pray for opportunities to become half as great as Dangote.
Shalom. naa I don't think he is bitter |

Now compare it to how Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sagel Brim, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, etc raised their business startup capital.
Dangote did nothing special. He only managed what his family handed over to him well, that's all so managing money that was given to you in the 70s well and paying back and expanding upon it over the decades is not special? tell me something you know how many Nigerians have been given seed money and wasted it? Slander isn't the same as rigging. Are you saying that Americans do not know the difference between the two words?
Dangote isn't the only person benefiting from the Nigerian system, how much have the others given back? Besides, most of the stuff you wrote here are nothing but tittle tattle.
