Owerri Club Management Raises Alarm Over Illegal Sale of Imo State Government Property in Club Premises

By Our Correspondent

The management of Owerri Club has raised an alarm over the alleged illegal sale of Imo State Government property stored within the club's premises during the administration of former Governor Rochas Okorocha.

In a letter addressed to Governor Hope Uzodimma—who, by statute, also serves as President of the Owerri Club—the newly elected management committee urged the governor through the SA on Monitoring and Compliance and the GM ENTRACO to investigate the matter, recover the assets, and prosecute those responsible.

Our correspondent has obtained a copy of the letter, which details how the government-owned items were unlawfully disposed of without authorization. The management emphasized the need for swift intervention to safeguard public assets and uphold the rule of law.
A copy of the letter is reproduced below for reference.

The Owerri Club, a prestigious sports and recreation club in Imo State's capital, has long hosted certain state-owned facilities as part of historical arrangements. The alleged sale, reportedly occurring under the previous regime, has now come under scrutiny amid ongoing efforts to recover misappropriated public resources.
Governor Uzodimma's administration has previously demonstrated commitment to such recoveries, including directives for inventory and retrieval of government vehicles and lands.

Sen. Akpabio and Natasha Controversy & The Need For Elderly Intervention

By

NBE Nwigwe

The controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio centers on allegations of sexual harassment, character assassination and defamation from a legal perspective:

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan had accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, sparking widespread controversy. The allegations emerged from a dispute over Senate seating arrangements, with Akpoti-Uduaghan defying Akpabio's directives.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended from the Senate on March 6 for "gross misconduct" after refusing to budge from her seat. She publicly accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, claiming he implied she should "take care" of him for favorable treatment.

Akpoti-Uduaghan has vowed to present evidence supporting her claims, stating she will reveal it "at the right time and space". The senator's allegations have sparked protests in parts of Abuja, drawing attention to the institution.

The matter shifted from sexual harassment to threat to life when Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio recruited former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to assassinate her. This claim was made on April 1, 2025, while speaking in Kogi State.

Akpabio's Response
Akpabio's office swiftly denied the allegations, calling them "baseless, false, and inflammatory". They described the claims as a desperate attempt to discredit the Senate leadership and incite public unrest. The Senate President's office also noted that Akpoti-Uduaghan had previously made similar accusations, including claims of sexual harassment, which she later abandoned without explanation.

Legal Action
Akpabio's office announced plans to take legal action against Akpoti-Uduaghan, seeking public retractions, apologies, and compensation for reputational harm.

The Senate President's office urged the Nigerian public and international community to disregard the allegations, emphasizing Akpabio's commitment to legislative excellence and democratic values.

This developing story highlights the intense politics and power struggles within Nigeria's legislative body. As the situation unfolds, stakeholders and observers are watching closely to see how the matter is resolved.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan attended the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting in New York, despite not being officially nominated by the Nigerian government where before the world, she repeated her allegations against the Senate President. Thereafter, top global news network has either interviewed her or carried her sexual harassment allegations charge against the third man in protocol ranking in Nigeria.

The controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio is damaging Nigeria's reputation. The allegations of sexual harassment and abuse of power are sparking widespread discussions about the country's political culture and treatment of women in public life.

*Reputation Concerns*

- *Institutional Integrity*: The scandal is raising questions about the integrity of Nigeria's institutions, particularly the Senate.
- *Women's Rights*: The case is highlighting concerns about women's rights and safety in Nigeria, potentially deterring women from participating in politics.
- *Power Dynamics*: The allegations are shedding light on the power imbalances and exploitation that can occur in politics.

*Potential Consequences*

- *International Perception*: The controversy may impact Nigeria's international reputation, potentially affecting foreign investment and diplomatic relationships.
- *National Discourse*: The scandal is dominating national conversations, potentially overshadowing other important issues and initiatives.
- *Public Trust*: The case may erode public trust in Nigeria's institutions, particularly among women and marginalized groups.

*Why Elder Intervention Matters*

- *Neutral Perspective*: Elders can bring a neutral perspective, unaffected by party affiliations or personal interests.
- *Respect and Authority*: Elders command respect, allowing them to effectively mediate and guide the parties involved.
- *Experience and Wisdom*: Elders possess valuable experience and wisdom, enabling them to navigate complex issues.

*Key Areas for Elder Intervention*

- *Mediation*: Facilitate dialogue between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio to resolve the issue amicably.
- *Investigation Oversight*: Ensure a fair and transparent investigation into the allegations.
- *Guidance and Support*: Provide guidance and support to both parties, promoting a constructive resolution.

*Benefits of Elder Intervention*

- *Preserving Institutional Integrity*: Elder intervention can help maintain the integrity of the Senate and Nigeria's institutions.
- *Promoting Women's Rights*: Addressing sexual harassment allegations can foster a safer environment for women in politics and government.
- *Fostering National Dialogue*: Elder intervention can spark a national conversation about power dynamics, gender equality, and accountability.

The controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio requires wise intervention from respected elders. Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, including unwanted advances and retaliation after she rejected him. This case highlights the need for elder intervention to address power imbalances and ensure fair treatment ¹.

I wish to call on Mr President, respected elders of Kogi State, Past Senate Presidents and men and women of goodwill to bring both parties to the roundtable and stop this macabre dance that has brought our nations reputation to disrepute.

Food for thought.
Are there no elders in this clime to restrain these great Nigerians. Must we watch our respected citizens dance naked in the market square denting their image and that of our dear country. I call on Mr President and other elders to swiftly intervene and stop this show of shame.

PoliticsIk Ogbonna Hails Alex Otti For Signing Electricity Bill by ujoatu(op): 2:49pm On Mar 19, 2025
Kudos to Governor Alex Otti for signing the Abia State Electricity Bill into law!

This landmark legislation empowers Abia State to regulate its own electricity market, paving the way for a more efficient, sustainable, and investor-friendly energy sector.

The benefits of this law are numerous. For one, it'll protect investments in the energy sector, making Abia State a more attractive destination for investors. The law also prioritizes renewable energy, positioning Abia as a leader in sustainable power initiatives.

With this law, the state government can now implement initiatives to extend power to the remaining eight local government areas, building on the existing Aba ring-fence arrangement with Geometric Power Limited. This will undoubtedly boost economic growth, improve living standards, and create new opportunities for businesses and residents alike.

The establishment of the Abia State Electricity Regulatory Authority (ASERA) will also ensure that the sector remains efficient and investor-friendly. Governor Otti's vision for Abia State to become a net exporter of electricity, supplying power to other parts of the Southeast and South-South regions, is now within reach.

I commend Governor Otti for his leadership and commitment to delivering independent power to Abia State. The speedy but careful passage of the bill by the State House of Assembly is also noteworthy. This is a testament to the state's commitment to creating a conducive business environment and improving the lives of its citizens.

Abia State is indeed on the right path, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of this legislation in the years to come.

SAMDADDY ANYANWU AND PDP GOVERNORS ERROR OF JUDGEMENT; A THREAT TO THE RULE OF LAW & DEMOCRACY

By

Ik Ogbonna

The call by PDP Governors Forum for party's National Working Committee, NWC, to put machinery in motion for the implementation of the Enugu Court of Appeal judgement in favour of SDK Udo Okoye to resume as National Secretary of the party, despite an appeal to the Supreme Court and a stay of execution obtained by Senator Samuel Samdaddy Anyanwu, has raised eyebrows and sparked debate within and outside the party.
The call was contained in the communiqué of their meeting in Asaba Delta State on the 31st of January, 2025

It's essential to understand the context of this development. Senator Anyanwu, had obtained a stay of execution, from the Court of Appeal in Abuja against the Enugu Court of Appeal judgement. The Abuja court had granted an order directing both parties to maintain status quo ante bellum which
effectively restrained Udo Okoye from assuming office as National Secretary. Additionally, Samuel Samdaddy Anyanwu has also appealed the judgement at the Supreme Court.

However, the PDP Governors' Forum has now asked that Udo Okoye be allowed to resume office, citing reasons that are not entirely clear. This move has been perceived as a challenge to Senator Anyanwu's legal victory and has raised questions about the party's commitment to upholding the rule of law and democracy.

The PDP Governors' decision can be seen as an error of judgement, a threat to the rule of law and democracy. It is being perceived as disrespecting the legal process and undermining the authority of the court. It's crucial for the party to respect the legal decisions and processes, even if they are not in their favor.

Moreover, this development may create divisions within the party, as some members may see the Governors' decision as an attempt to override the legal system. This could lead to internal conflicts and power struggles, ultimately weakening the party's position.

To understand the implications of the court's ruling, it's essential to examine the concept of status quo bellum.

"Status Quo Ante Bellum" is a Latin phrase that translates to "the state of things before the war." In a broader sense, it refers to the state of affairs before a conflict, dispute, or significant event.

In legal and diplomatic contexts, Status Quo Ante Bellum is often used to describe a situation where parties are required to maintain the situation as it existed before a conflict or dispute arose. This can include:

1. Maintaining territorial boundaries
2. Preserving existing power structures
3. Continuing current practices or policies
4. Avoiding actions that could escalate the conflict

The purpose of maintaining the Status Quo Ante Bellum is to:

1. Prevent further conflict or escalation
2. Allow for negotiations or mediation to resolve the dispute
3. Preserve the pre-conflict situation until a resolution is reached..

In the context of the article, the Court of Appeal's ruling to maintain the "Status Quo Ante Bellum" means that Senator Anyanwu should continue to function as National Secretary of the PDP, and Udo Okoye should not assume office, pending the final adjudication by the Supreme Court. This maintains the situation as it existed before the conflict arose, allowing for the legal process to unfold without interference.

One of the pillars of democracy is respect for the rule of law. Anything to the contrary is an invitation to anarchy. The next logical and legal step to follow in this case is to await the decision of the Supreme Court on the matter.

In conclusion, the PDP Governors' call for Udo Okoye to resume office despite the stay of execution obtained by Senator Anyanwu is a misstep that may have far-reaching consequences for the party and democracy. It's essential for the party to prioritize respect for the rule of law and avoid actions that may be perceived as undermining the legal process.

EMI LOKAN AND THE AUDACITY OF A DREAMER & HIS DREAM - BY IK OGBONNA
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, (BAT) is one of Nigeria’s most visionary, astute and strategic politicians. A man who dream dreams and works painstakingly to realize them. A man who garners men of intellect around him to assist him achieve his goal.

Born (offially) on the 29th of March, 1952, after an illustrious career in the private sector that saw him working for top blue chip firms including, Arthur Anderson, Deloitte and GTE and then Mobil Oil Producing as an Accountant. He joined partisan politics and was elected a Senator in 1992 under the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

In 1983, MKO Abiola (the presumed winner of the 1993 Presidential election) had his "victory” cut short by the military junta led by late Gen. Sani Abacha, forcing Tinubu and others to flee Nigeria in 1994 to form and fund NADECO (National Democratic Coalition), a pro-democracy group that fought against the military for the restoration of democracy. The fast thinking Tinubu immediately the transition was announced by Gen. Abubakar, returned home in 1998 with the impending exit of the military unlike most other activists and seeking to be and was elected as a two term Governor of Lagos State. As Governor of Lagos state under the Alliance for Democracy, AD, Tinubu survived the guile and trickery of the then President Olusegun Obasanjo who sought an alliance with the South West. While PDP made a clean sweep of the zone, Tinubu alone stood tall. Also, despite his struggle with the Obasanjo led Federal Government, Tinubu performed wonderfully well and changed the face of Lagos State with landmark achievements in all sectors of the state.
In 2006, Tinubu’s quest to be President resonated and commenced in earnest. He dangled the Presidential ticket of AD before Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the then Vice President of Nigeria with a plan to be his running mate. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar accepted the offer but chose Senator Ben Obi as his running mate but, regrettably, he lost to the PDP.

In 2009, BAT returned to his political chess board planning a Mega Party to challenge PDP. In February 2013, Tinubu was top on the list of several prominent politicians who formed a "mega opposition" party with the coalition of Nigeria's three biggest opposition parties – the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the new PDP (nPDP), a faction of the then-ruling People's Democratic Party into the All Progressives Congress. He again dangled the ticket of the new party this time to General Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd) to also be his running mate but this dream was aborted when the fear of a Muslim-Muslim ticket made PMB pick Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, a protégé of BAT. They both won the 2015 presidential election . Again in 2019, BAT supported PMB and his deputy to get re-elected and patiently bid his time. He threw his support 100 percent behind the PMB led government in spite of provocations from several quarters, BAT remained focused.

In June 2023 at Abeokuta, while addressing his people from the South West after declaring his interest in presidential election, BAT spoke in his native tongue declaring it is "his turn” (emi lokan) to be President. That declaration drew mixed reactions of support and condemnation but it was the audacity of a dreamer and his dream. A focused man and his life long ambition. Of a politician and his quest for public office. Of a strategist and his strategy. Of a player with his eyes focused on the ball. For a very long time, Nigeria has be led by reluctant leaders. President Shagari wanted to be a Senator, Jonathan was happy as governor, Obasanjo asked how many presidents they wanted to make of him. Buhari was satisfied tending to his cows. Those who really aspired never got it. Late MKO Abiola, late sage, late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, late Pa Awolowo etc.

Today, the 29th day of May, 2023, the dreamer President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has realized his life long ambition. He is worthy of being studied and emulated. It is the stuff that focused and ambitious men are made of.

As President of our dear nation, we are obliged to pray and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu even while his victory is under judicial scrutiny. We must allow the judiciary do their job. Nigeria must prevail.

Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I doff my hat for you and the audacity of your dream.

Long live Mr President
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He specifically asked the agency to establish and construct an Ecological and Environmental Resource Center at Otammiri river as well as construction of internal roads in the University. The VC also informed the ES that UAES intends to celebrate the World Environment Day on June 5th and asked that the University be used as host for the international event.

Responding to the address, the Permanent Secretary thanked the VC for the visit and appreciated his management's efforts in repositioning the institution. He promised that the office would assist within the limit of her resources to mitigate environmental challenges especially for institutions like UAES. He also noted that states and local governments must also participate in alleviating ecological issues. On the establishment of a resource center, he welcomed it as a unique and innovative project and asked for a formal request and further engagement on the vision. On the World Environmental Day event hosting, the PS said it is a welcome idea and also looked forward to further engagement.

The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by the Ag. Director Physical Planning & Interventions, Mr Chike Osuagwu on the visit.

PoliticsSamdaddy Has Been Playing His Role As Leader Of Opposition While Ihedioha Frolic by ujoatu(op): 11:39am On Sep 26, 2022
- SAMDADDY ANYANWU HAS BEEN PLAYING HIS ROLE AS LEADER OF IMO PDP VERY WELL.
- PERSISTENTLY CONDEMNS THE MISRULE & INSECURITY IN IMO.

- WHILE IHEDIOHA ON THE OTHER HAND IS WORKING WITH THE STATE EXCO TO DESTROY THE PARTY

- IT IS IDIOTIC TO ASSUME THAT SAME SAMDADDY WHO MOVED FOR THE IMPEACHMENT OF PMB
IS IN ALLIANCE WITH UZODIMMA

IK OGBONNA, fcai, anipr

The Emeka Ihedioha sponsored Propaganda Machinery having acknowledged that their unlikelyhood of clSENATOR Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu and have resorted to unbridled, childish and inconsequential propaganda to make failed attempt to tarnish the image of the PDP National Secretary. They have realized that Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu although hasn’t officially declared to run for governor but he has massive following and support from all sections of the state.
The "Green Cap Confraternity" (apologies to FCC Jones) are sick over the possibility of his heeding the clarion call to declare his interest in the race. This morbid fear is moreso because Ihedioha has failed twice in his guber bid and knows that PDP will not reward failure by giving him a third chance.

The Mbutu Green Capped politician and his attack dogs have failed severally to tag the PDP National Secretary as an “APC mole”. As laughable, idiotic, inane, banal and insane this allegation is but for lack of anything to write or hold onto, they keep repeating this innuendo hoping it will sink.

The question then would be, HOW HAS BOTH SENATOR SAMUEL ANYANWU AND HON. EMEKA IHEDIOHA BEEN PLAYING THEIR ROLES AS OPPOSITION FIGURES IN THE STATE?
I will make no attempt to speak for Ihedioha as the facts speaks for itself. He has no record outside hoping to be awarded PDP Governorship ticket on a platter of gold. He eats and is in cahoots with Imo state governor. On the other hand, I present from my few minutes search on the internet, how Samdaddy as Sen Samuel Anyanwu is better known has been playing his role and throw an open challenge to the Mbutu Green Cap apologists to do the same.

Senator SamDaddy has played his role as National and state opposition leader very well before and after his current Office of PDP National Secretary. Here are the results of my internet search for a few minutes:

To cap it up, it was Sen Samuel Anyanwu on the floor of the hallowed Chambers of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, moved a motion for the impeachment of President Buhari in 2017 ( https://www.magicfm.ng/we-will-impeach-president-muhammadu-buhari-led-executive-senator-samuel-anyanwu-threatens/. https://www.google.com/amp/s/dailypost.ng/2017/07/04/senate-threatens-impeachment-buhari-disobedience-lawmakers/%3famp=1). Very few legislators have had the courage to threaten to impeach a gov or president but Samdaddy did.

Having proved my point that Sen Samuel Anyanwu has been actively playing his role very well as Imo State and National opposition leader, I again challenge Mbutu Green Cap apologists and attack dogs to
“show us evidence of how Ihedioha has played his role as the supposed opposition figure in Imo State. Don't forget, Ihedioha is the deposed Governor of Imo State and the onus is on him to put the Hope Uzodimma led APC government on its toes” especially since Samdaddy as Imo PDP leader is very busy in Abuja as National Secretary.
It is well known that Ihedioha hibernates in Abuja and only returns to Imo State quarterly, when he “hires street sweepers to hail him during burials and birthday parties" he attends in Imo.

PoliticsSam Daddy Anyanwu; The Reincarnation Of Dee Sam Mbakwe by ujoatu(op): 11:43am On Sep 20, 2022
SAM DADDY ANYANWU; THE “REINCARNATION” OF DEE SAM MBAKWE

By: Ik Ogbonna

The birth of Samuel in the Holy Bible was a fulfillment of the promise by God and it heralded unquantifiable joy in the life of Hannah and Elkanah. SAMUEL was a PRAYER answered. He represented a promise made and kept. Hannah asked God for a child and vowed to dedicate him to the service of God. Hannah’s prayer was answered with the birth of Samuel. Hannah didn’t renege on her promise to dedicate Samuel to God while Samuel himself embraced God’s with joy.

The name SAMUEL stands for prayer answered and promise kept, IMO STATE is undoubtedly in dire need of a SAMUEL in this critical moment of her chequered history. The last time Imo State had a Samuel was between 1979 to 1983 when SAMUEL Mbakwe reigned as Governor of old Imo State. Dee Sam, as he was fondly called was elected on the platform of Nigerian People’s Party (NPP). During electioneering campaigns, Dee Sam made promises to Imo people and kept them. Dee Sam Mbakwe massively transformed Imo State by providing motorable and durable roads, industries, pipe borne water, built schools, provided electricity, etc that are still standing across the entire (old) Imo State till date.

The legacy projects of Dee SAM Mbakwe include:
1. Imo State University (now Abia State University, Uturu).

2. College of Technology Nekede (now Federal Polytechnic, Nekede

3. College of Agriculture, Umuagwo, (now University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo)

4.The Aluminum Extrusion Industry, Ikeduru.

5. Paper Packaging Industry located at Owerre-Ebiri, Orlu;

6. Sacs Hercules Motorcycle Plant located at Naze in Owerri North;

7. Clay Industries located at Ezinnachi and Amuro, Okigwe;

8. Nsu Tiles and Ceramics Industry loacted at Ezeoke, Ehime Mbano;

9. Concorde Hotel, Owerri.

10. Aluminum Smelter Plant in Inyishi.

11. International Glass Industry Aba.

12. Modern Standard Shoe Industry Owerri.

13. Imo Modern Poultry Avutu, Obowo.

14. Golden Chicken Poultry farm, Ukwa.

15. Begedoff Beer Umuahia.

16. Imo Hotels.

17. Aluminum Extrusion Industry Ikeduru.

18. Resin Paint Factory Mbaise.

19. Mega power stations at Amaraku and Izombe.

20. Progress Bank.

21. IBC Television Channel59 now Orient FM & TV.

22. Oguta Lake Motels.

23. Abadaba Lake Resorts.

24. Central Stadium Owerri (Dan Anyiam).

25. International Glass Industry Aba.

26. Imo modern Sulo Waste Management System.

27. Developed the New Owerri Capital territory and built major roads that are still use in present Imo, Abia and Ebonyi.

28. The Osisioma Industrial Estate,

29. World Bank Housing Estate Osisioma,

30. Ariaria Market Aba,

31. Eziukwu Market,

32. Ekeoha Shopping Complex,

33. Enyimba Hotel Complex,

34. Metallurgical Complex

These and more projects of Dee Sam really put smiles on the face of the people and employed numerous youths across the state . Sam Mbakwe was a prayer answered because his coming was at a time when the pains of military dictatorship was almost unbearable. Dee Sam Mbakwe came as a redeemer and wiped the tears from Imo people’s eyes. He took the whole Imo State as his own constituency. It is in the light of his outstanding performance that he carved a niche for himself in the history books of Imo State. Although, he is no more, his sterling legacies lives on in the hearts of Imo people and left his footprints on the sands of time. Imo State will ever remain grateful to him. Even generations yet unborn will sing his praises for the great and selfless services he rendered to Imolites. His memory will remain evergreen in the hearts of Imolites.

Since Dee Sam Mbakwe left the stage, Imo State has been struggling to get another SAMUEL, a man who will serve selflessly and keep to his words. Virtually all the governors that reigned after Dee Sam did not meet the expectations of the people. They merely massaged the sufferings of Imolites instead of alleviating them. Imolites have been praying for the “reincarnation” of Dee Sam Mbakwe to continue with his laudable projects. Imolites have been praying for a man who can step into the huge shoes Dee Sam left behind. As the search continues, many well-meaning sons of Imo State have been pointing towards Senator SAMUEL Anyanwu, popularly called Samdaddy as another Samuel in the “order” of Sam Mbakwe. Many surveys have projected him as a good man with overflowing integrity capable of defeating the incumbent governor. They also see him as a man who has the capacity to wipe the tears of Imolites as Dee Sam Mbakwe did. This survey might not be unconnected with his leadership qualities and numerous landmark achievements when he was Executive Chairman of Ikeduru LGA, two term member of Imo State House of Assembly and Distinguished Senator for Owerri Zone. As Chairman of Ikeduru, Samdaddy transformed the LGA and made his people proud that earned him the sobriquet, “ACTION CHAIRMAN”. His commitmen to good governance is legendary and this earned him a PROMOTION by Ikeduru people to the Imo State House of Assembly where he made his marks in people oriented legislations, representation and oversight. He made sound contributions on the floor of the House which kept the government of the day on its toes.

The election of Samdaddy to the Senate in 2015 did not come to the people by surprise because of his outstanding performance as a member of Imo State House of Assembly. Infact, Samdaddy’s elevation from House of Assembly to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria apart from being the first time by any Imo born politician, is also a testimony that good work pays. As a Senator Samuel Anyanwu attracted many road projects and jobs to his constituency. He sponsored many bills and motions which helped to checkmate the executive. Samdaddy was a legislator per excellence. A man who moved a motion for the impeachment of President Buhari at a time his other colleagues hardly aired their views on national issues.

Out of his desire to clean the rot of bad leadership in Imo State, Samdaddy contested the 2019 governorship primary election of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but enemies of Imo frustrated his plans by foisting an unpopular candidate by crooked means on the party. This sabotage led to the enthronement of the current APC government in the state. It wouldn’t have been so if Senator Samuel Anyanwu was not rigged out in the 2019 primary election of PDP.

As a staunch member of Imo PDP, he helped to keep the party alive and strong despite the machinations of his political enemies to ostracize him. Senator Samuel Anyanwu is a man who every member of PDP knows his capacity and can relate with him. His uncommon humility and integrity endeared him to members of PDP in Imo State, Southeast and Nigeria when they unanimously elected National Secretary during the last National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. This is sign that the party acknowledges the leadership qualities of Samdaddy. As National Secretary of PDP, Samdaddy has shown capacity by putting machinery in motion to revive the party at all levels for electoral victory. He has brought back disgruntled members to the party in Imo State and beyond.

There have been speculations that Senator Samdaddy will contest the governorship seat of Imo in the next election. Although, he hasn’t declared formally but there is a general feeling that Imolites are anticipating his entry into the race with calls from different quarters for Samuel Anyanwu to throw his hat into the goveenorship ring. This might not be unconnected to his sterling qualities and achievements as Council Chairman, State Legislator, Senator and currently, National Scribe of his party. Samuel Mbakwe and Samuel Anyanwu have striking resemblance, characteristics and personality. It’s beyond being namesakes. Both of them represent what “SAMUEL” stands for; which is a prayer answered and promise kept based on their antecedents.

As Imolites waits with bated breath, we pray God to touch Senator SAMUEL Anyanwu to declare officially for the governorship seat of Imo to enable him step into the shoes of the late SAMUEL Mbakwe and continue with his leadership of sincerity and development. Imolites will never rest until another SAMUEL is born in Imo State. Until men like Senator Samuel Anyanwu who represents good governance and credibility ascends the throne, Imolites will continue to cry for the return of SAM MBAKWE. May another Samuel rise “in the order of Mbakwe” and massively transform Imo as Mbakwe did. History beckons as Imolites continue to pray for Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) to bow to the yearnings of Imolites.

May Imo’s new SAMUEL arise soon and deliver his people.
The time is NOW!

Mountain Crest Schools, Blazing The Trail In Academic Excellence

Yesterday I had the pleasure of witnessing the 2022 graduation ceremony of Mountain Crest Schools at Landmark Event Centre, Owerri.

The school which was founded in 2013 on strong Christian doctrine, academic excellence and professionalism was envisioned by
Dcns Akudo Okafor, it’s Director with the active support of her husband, Dcn. Chike Okafor who believes in investing back home and contributing to the state economy.

The event had the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Goodluck Opia as Chairman of the occasion (represented by a Director in his Ministry), Hon. Pascal Okechukwu (alias Cubana Chief Priest) as Special Guest and the creme of Imo society, has within a short time of it’s existence set the pace in academic excellence and has attracted the top echelon of Imo society who loves quality education.

With the performance of her students yesterday, coupled with the quality of manpower running the affairs of the school, I have no doubt that Mountain Crest will in no distant time even attract Nigerians in diaspora sending their kids here to learn and imbibe our culture.

Kudos Dcn Chike and Dcns Akudo Okafor.

EducationCourt Affirms Barr Okey Ozumba As Imsu Alumni President by ujoatu(op): 4:42pm On Jul 15, 2022
COURT AFFIRMS OKEY OZUMBA AS IMSU ALUMNI PRESIDENT, TRASHES AKANO'S SUIT, ASKS HIM TO PAY IMSU ALUMNI 50,000 NAIRA

A High Court in Rivers State has further affirmed the leadership of Barrister Okey Ozumba, as the authentic National President of the Incorporated Imo State University Alumni Association, and therefore restores the control of the Association's bank account domiciled with Access Bank in Owerri, to the authentic National Executive Committee of the Association, led by Barrister Okey Ozumba.

Mr. Ferdinand Akano, a former President of the Association who was suspended by the Board of Trustees had filed a suit in the Rivers State High Court challenging a judgement of the Magistrate Court which ordered that the Imo State University Alumni bank account domiciled with Access Bank should be transfered to the rightful leadership of the Association, following the expiration of Akano's tenure and the subsequent election of Barrister Okey Ozumba led NEC of the Association.

Both the Magistrate Court and the High Court were convinced by the authentication of the Okey Ozumba led NEC by the Incorporated Board of the Association, hence, their order for the account of the Association to be duly transferred to the rightful officials.

The lawyer to the Imo State University Alumni Association, explained the details of the judgement thus;

"Judgment in Suit No. PHC/1753/CS/2021 Between Akano Ezeala Ferdinand & Anor v A.O. Amadi-Nna Esq, & 2 Ors before His Lordship Hon. Justice Boma Diepri of the High Court of Rivers State was delivered this morning in a well considered ruling and the suit was dismissed with cost assessed at N50,000.00 against the Applicants. His Lordship in his ruling raised three issues viz;

1. Whether the lower Court has jurisdiction to entertain the suit when the account of the 2nd Respondent is domiciled in Owerri and the Applicants who are necessary parties are also in Owerri outside the jurisdiction of the court. This is was considered against the Applicants.

2. That Magistrate Court has no jurisdiction to entertain the Suit as the subject matter relates to banker customer relationship. This issue was also considered against the Applicants as there was no authority cited by the Applicants to buttress their arguments.

3. Whether the Applicants have locus standi to bring this suit. This was also considered as the Applicants did not seek leave of Court to file the suit not being parties at the magistrates Court.

Meantime, the leadership of the Imo State University has urged all members of the Association to join hands together to reunite and rebuild the noble Association for the benefit of all Imo Stars and the university community.

The President, Barrister Okey Ozumba, assured that he will continue to carry every member of the Association along, and asked that everyone should rally round to give back to the university and set good standards for younger Imo Stars.

Signed,

OSITA IZUNASO; A LIFE OF SELFLESS SERVICE & FIDELITY TO CAUSES

Senator Osita Bonaventure Izunaso is a Journalist, Administrator, Lawyer, Philanthropist, Lawmaker and Politician whose foray into the political firmament of Nigeria has been marked with remarkable successes and selfless service which has made him a critical factor even outside public office till date.

Born on the 30th of October, 1966, Izunaso who hails from Ohakpu in Oru East LGA of Imo State has by dint of hard work and grace of God worked his way into national and international reckoning and recognition and a critical factor in our politics and polity.

EDUCATION
Kpakpando as Sen. Izunaso is fondly called by his friends and admirers, has a deep love for education and hence is still in the business of reading and enlightening himself, a trait rarely found in members of our political class and leadership.

He started his quest for tertiary education with Advanced Level at School of Basic Studies, Benue State University, Makurdi in 1986 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, B.A in English Language and Linguistics from University of Jos in 1989. Not satisfied, he also earned a Master of Business Administration, MBA, degree from the University of Calabar in 2002. His passion for knowledge and scholarship propelled him to read for a post-graduate diploma in Journalism, PGDJ in the International Institute of Journalism, IIJ, Abuja. For a man so busy and connected, one will assume he is done with knowledge but not Osita Izunaso. His childhood desire to read law pushed him to enroll for a Bachelor of law LLB degree in Nile University where he bagged a First Class degree and was adjudged the Best Graduating Student of his set and went further to attend Law school in 2021 with a BL second class upper and is consequently a BARRISTER and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. What a feat.

WORK EXPERIENCE
The working career of Kpakpando has seen him transverse all the arms of government in Nigeria including the 4th estate and the private sector as well.

He was a CHIEF CORRESPONDENT later Bureau Chief with Satelite Newspaper.
Between 1992 to 1993, he was CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY to the Speaker, House of Representatives. From 1995 to 1997, Izunaso was CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY to the Minister of Youths and Sports and worked in the same capacity to the Minister of Labour & Productivity from 1998-1999. In 1999 to 2000, he was also CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY to the Senate President.

His working career by providence saw him move to the Executive Arm of Government from the 4th Estate of the Realm with his appointment as EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT on Publicity & Strategy to the Imo State Governor, 2001-2002
In his state of Imo, he also was privileged to serve as CHAIRMAN, INTERIM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE, Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, 2002-2003.

Due to his love for his people and spirit of selfless service, he was elected as a MEMBER, House of Representatives (representing Oru West, Oguta, & Ohaji Egbema) between 2003-2007. That marked his sojourn into the legislative arm of government as a lawmaker. Having observed his outstanding service to his federal constituency, the good people of Imo West (Orlu Zone) elected him overwhelming as their SENATOR between 2007-2011. This elevation made him the first Imo son to GRADUATE from the House of Representatives to the Senate.

While in the Senate and HoR, Izunaso Chaired and was a member of several vital committees including…
*CHAIRMAN, House Committee on Housing 2003-2007.
*MEMBER, Senate Committees on Rules & Business, Local & Foreign Debts, Housing, Foreign Affairs & Sports.
*CHAIRMAN, Senate Committee on Gas.
Sun Newspaper celebrated his outstanding achievements as a legislator and Chairman of Gas Committee with the following words on his 50th birthday:
“It was during his tenure as Senate Committee Chairman on Gas that the issue of gas flaring in Nigeria got national and international attention and was addressed”. I will address another article on his achievements as a lawmaker.

His service to Nigeria went beyond the hallowed Chambers of the National Assembly with his appointment as:
*HEAD OF MEDIA, Nigerian Contingent to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference, Lincousia
*HEAD, international International Parliamentary Union conference, Sydney
*EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, Ministerial Public Relations Committee for France 98 World Cup
*MEMBER OF COUNCIL, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations
“In a mid-term evaluation of Senators in May 2009, ThisDay noted that he had sponsored bills for the Conveyance of Persons in Articulated Vehicles Bill, Treatment and Care of Victims of Conflict, National Agency for the Promotion and Preservation of Local Languages in Nigeria and Amendment of the Oil Pipelines Act Amendment. He contributed to plenary debates and was active in committees.[2] As Chairman of the Committee on Gas he was responsible for a controversial investigation into an alleged huge increase in the contract sum of the Escravos GTL project from $1.7 billion to $5.9 billion” Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osita_Izunaso.

The crowning glory of his achievements as a politician was his service to his party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, he served meritoriously without blemish as premier National Organizing Secretary from 2013 to 2018 and consequently led the new party to victory with the election of President Buhari in 2015.

Sen. Izunaso has brought light to his people, by attracting numerous infrastructure, empowering youths, women and especially the less privileged hence his reward with a chieftaincy title, KPAKPANDO. He consequently named his charity organization, KPAKPANDO FOUNDATION that has provided succor to the less privileged especially physically challenged citizens for over 17 years in and out of public office.

Orlu Zone today is highly under represented, there is no better time to recall one of her best (POLITICAL) STRIKERS to get back to the FIELD OF PLAY (The Red Chambers) and reenact his outstanding performance again than in 2023. As a ranking lawmaker, Izunaso will be ripe for any Principal Office allocated to the South East.

There is independent candidates in some countries but our constitution does not recognize independent candidate.

You can only seek elective position through a registered political party.

My response to those saying number 2 that is membership of labour Party is not compulsory.

That is where the STRUCTURE comes from. Every party has ward executives, LGA, state then national.
It's the ward executives that are relied on to prosecute the election at the polling booth level where all the voting including and initial and crucial irregularities are perpetrated. Unlike APC and PDP, LP as far as I know don't have strong structures at the ward level across the country. Obi's fans and SUPPORTERS are needed to fill the void providing the necessary strength to withstand the rampaging and bigger parties in all polling units across the country.
Cheers.

HOW PETER OBI CAN WIN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION;
MY MEMO TO HIS SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORTERS.

I have been inaundated by friends why I’m not in support of the Labour Party candidate. I’m yet to support any other candidate as well, still watching the terrain. For now, I offer to help their MINISTRY sharing this idea drawn from my practical experience in politics including contesting election, holding government offices, my work as a PR practitioner and journalist and affinity with politicians over the years.

I have observed the current frenzy by mostly young Nigerians to have Mr. Obi become the our next president which is fine and within their democratic rights but for that dream to see the light of the day, they need to start taking critical steps outside social media to actualize that.

Here are a few steps in my personal consideration and experience can help.
1. Get your PVC. This is of course number one on the must do list. There is no alternative unless you are below the voting age.

2. Move from supporter to party member. Join Labour Party. Yes, become a part member. Go ask for your Ward Chairman, register with the ward, attend their meetings and encourage them. It is the party members that will are usually mobilized to work for the victory of the party, play crucial roles on election day and protect the votes of their candidates. There variety of assignments party members carry out on election day many I can't say here please. It is only when you are identified as a trusted card carrying member of the party that such sensitive duties will be given to you. Why allow those vital and crucial assignments be given to people that can be bought over? Join and assist or supervise them, see to every detail of what transpires on election day. It's the day you wear jeans trouser, with some cash at hand for LOGISTICS AND ENTERTAINMENT, the day you would spend hours without blinking. Get ready.

3. Start physical campaign not just social media campaign. It is good to campaign on Social Media but there are millions of people who are not on Social Media. These are the people that really do the voting, waiting under rain and sun. They are not elites, they are ordinary people you ignore. They are the ones corrupt politicians buy their votes. They are blue collar workers who don’t give a damn about the ENGLISH YOU SPEAK. They see elections as their own Bazaar to get cash and gifts from politicians they won’t see again until the next election season. Seek them, make them your friends. Enlighten them in the language they speak and appreciate. They are the ones you ignore daily on your way to and fro work in your nice car and outfit. They are in your villages mostly, in slums in the city, they are in towns doing menial jobs. Many serve you as mechanics, security, even your domestic staff you maltreat. Start by showing them love now, before bringing up election and your chosen candidste. Come down from your high horse, mingle with them.

4. Be tolerant of other people’s choices and opinion.
People support party and candidates for different reasons. It is their right to do so. To win them, try to be civil, PREACH TO THEM like Jehovah Witnesses. Acknowledge them for their choice and their right to support who they wish then show them the alternative you proffer in love. Be polite.

5. Be wary of the religious and ethnic lines. This shouldn’t be a Christian vs Moslem or Igbo vs Fulani campaign. Don’t put fear in others, they will gangup against your candidate if you do. Mr. Peter Obi is known for his civility, unassuming nature, nationalistic tendencies, don't tar his reputation and undermine him.

6. Campaign on Issues not Innuendos. Use your candidates profile, his service records and personality backed with his program for Nigerians. Simple. You don't make a point by tarring others with mud. Peter Obi is not a Saint he is human and also has his frailties.

7. Step out on election day to vote. From my experience over the years, elites don’t vote on election days. They see it as holidays. While most youths use it for sports and to mingle in the neighborhood.

8. Start where you are. To influence others, start from your neighborhood, colleagues, relatives, friends etc. Start where you are, leave social media a little.

Best of luck in your OBIdience.

PoliticsBarr. Emeka Nwajiuba's Statement Of Appreciation And Thanksgiving by ujoatu(op): 12:02pm On Jun 08, 2022
STATEMENT OF APPRECIATION AND THANKSGIVING.

1. Good morning compatriots.

2. I am issuing this statement after a careful review of our campaign for the presidential ticket of the APC.

3. First, I thank our Almighty God, creator and giver of all things, for the gift of everything we are or have. I then will thank all of the many persons, those a far and those around, who through personal services, prayers, texts, advise, financial gifts, donations, and numerous other means, encouraged me.
3. I thank my Family, who have endured my incessant derision of their preference for a less public and risky, lifestyle.

4. I thank all my friends, well wishers and even those who may not wish us all that well, but have played their parts in the National discuss.

5. I would urge that no one should be despondent or disappointed. My approach to the Nigeria presidency, is hinged on being able to present a progressive vision of an inclusive, united and focused brand of energy to transform Nigeria into a wholesome economic power house, whose citizens will be better secured to live more fulfillingly.
5. I choose to take the tedious path of following the law, meeting requirements and staying disciplined, in other to sell a paradigm of same.

6. I appreciate all the sacrifices of time, resources and emotions that have been invested by so many persons, young and old, near and afar in this tedious path.

7. I and almost all other aspirants agreed to a consensus approach to the selection of our candidate, to effectively maintain the outlook of a progressive family ,away from an all for money by highest bidder image, which had already been assigned to another political party.

8. I and other aspirants now of the south east, wrote the leadership of our party to appreciate the commitment to move the presidential ticket to the south, and requested a further deepening to the southeast to reflect our primary reason for seeking the office, which remains, "to build a more united and inclusive secured and prosperous nation." This much has been captured in the communique south east aspirants issued on 22nd May, the speeches of Mr. President at his meetings with APC Governors, that of aspirants and of stakeholders.

9. Following the failure of all these entreaties, it became clear that the convention was headed away from these lofty ideals I subscribe to and will still pursue. I therefore declined to attend.

10. These ideals reflected in what some of the south east aspirants who choose to attend referred to in their pleas for Justice, or need to constitutionally require it, in the face of the absence of conscience. Even their elderly wailing on national television could not move a vote, if I had shouted same in a more youthfull voice, it may have become inciteful in face of our current security difficulties in the southeast and may thus spite our efforts. Better to stay out.

11. I am committed to pursuing the ideals of a more united, inclusively secured prosperous nation for us all, lending to our dear country, its citizens and those who may be positioned to use it, the experiences acquired, lessons learnt and the various matrix that I may bring to bear.

12. I am gratefull for the opportunity to engage all strata of our society, all cadres of of leadership both in our party and our country. I appreciate the luxury of your various audience, in sharing this message.

Thank you all , so very much.

PoliticsThe Man, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba by ujoatu(op):
SPOTLIGHT ON HON CHUKWUEMEKNWAJIUBA, HCN.
Chukwuemeka

Nwajiuba was born on 20th August 1967 at Umuezeala Nsu in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area in Imo State. He is married to Dr Adaku Nwajiuba and they are blessed with five children.

He studied Law (LLB) at Imo State University Okigwe (now Abia State University), obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) from the prestigious University of Lagos and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from the University of Jos. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989.

Dr Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba started his career as a Managing Partner of Ayodeji C. Emeka Ibrahim & Co in 1991.

Entering politics at a relatively early age, Honorable Nwajiuba was elected to represent Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo Federal Constituency of Imo state in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1999 - 2003 where he served as House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Land, Housing and Works.

He was nominated the Best Legislator in the House of Representatives in a United Nations Democracy Study published in the Guardian of September 30, 2002.

As part of his early political evolution, Honorable Nwajiuba joined the progressives fold and contested the Imo state governorship on the platform of the All Peoples Party (APP) in 2003 and 2007 respectively and again in 2011 on the platform of the Congress For Political Change (CPC).

In the lead up to the merger that saw the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Nwajiuba served as Secretary of the Constitution Drafting Committee that produced the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress in 2013, making him a foundation member of the Party.

He was the Chairman Board of Trustees, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) from 2017 to 2019. Creditably under him the Fund did well in reforming the education sector especially in scaling up its intervention in tertiary education in the country.

Honorable Nwajiuba was re-elected member House of Representatives representing Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives in 2019 on the platform of Accord Party.

He was to resign the position after he was nominated a Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari and subsequently became Minister of State for Education of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019, a position he has held to date.

As Minister for state Education, working in perfect harmony with the substantive Minister, Dr Nwajiuba has played a crucial role in driving 'Education for Change'; a Ministerial Strategic Plan (MSP) of the Federal Ministry of Education developed with the intention of articulating a pathway to repositioning Nigeria’s education sector to effectively play its central role in national reform and in achieving the development agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration.

The Plan which derives from six main sources including the objectives that the All Progressives Congress (APC) set out to achieve in the education sector as stated in its manifesto and the campaign promises of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, during the 2015 electioneering campaign is built around three result areas: Access, Quality, and Systems Strengthening and on Ten pillars:
1. Out-of-School Children; 2. Youth and Adult Literacy; 3. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) & Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET); 4. Basic Education; 5. Teacher Education, Capacity Building and Professional Development; 6. Curriculum and Policy Matters; 7. Tertiary Education; 8. Education Data and Planning; 9. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education; and 10. Library Services in Education.

Publicity shy and unassuming, a technocrat, an achiever and a team player, the highly cerebral, extremely loyal and astute politician from Imo state strongly believes that Nigeria as a country should remain one indivisible entity despite differences in tongue and creed. He sees the country's mixed heritage as a strength and not a weakness. He sees the vast and diverse human resource in Nigeria as the greatest strength of Nigeria especially the younger generation and believes the youth can be motivated to tap into their innate talents to excel and he sees that as the only solution to crime especially white collar and internet crimes like yahoo-yahoo or yahoo plus.

Honorable Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba believes that the Constitution of Nigeria needs to be reformed to make governance more accountable to the people, less expensive and more empowering of the people. He equally believes that the budgeting system is opaque and needs to be more transparent, measurable, realistic and implementable.

Honorable Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba is seen by many as a very close and trusted ally of President Buhari and maybe rightly so. As a long term associate of the President from their CPC days and one of the more significant, effective and efficient Ministers under the Buhari administration, he surely has contributed immensely in advancing the agenda of the Buhari administration even beyond his key education portfolio.

As an . He is unarguably one of the most competent, consistent, dependable and trusted pillars of the party, nationalism and patriotism from the South East zone and of Igbo extraction; with tested, and enduring political tentacles spread around the nation and trusted bridges of friendship built across all tribal, religious and cultural boundaries. Surely he qualifies to carry the mantle for the APC, even on his own merit; should the party so decide.

Honorable Nwajiuba in my objective view is undoubtedly one of those with the pedigree, capacity, competence, youthfulness, integrity, sense of commitment and experience to run with the vision and mission of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC to take Nigeria to even greater heights beyond 2023.

Fellow Nigerians, I hereby humbly and patriotically present to you, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba PhD.

EducationUAES Still Admitting Students; Accepts Lowest School Fees Of N40,000- Registrar by ujoatu(op): 2:52pm On Dec 13, 2021
University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo is still admitting students!
…………accepts lowest school fees of N40,000 only!

The registrar, University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, (UAES) Unuagwo, Imo state Prince Eddy Njemanze, says that the specialized university is still offering provisional admission to students who took the 2020 and 2021 Jamb exams.
In a recent chat with media representatives, the registrar noted with delight keen interest by student seeking admission, resulting in an upbeat of activities in the JAMB portal in favour of the school which is the 49th State University in Nigeria and 171st in the nation. Highlighting some of the factors which led to these positive developments, he noted that the state government wisdom of getting students to combining vocational and academic pursuits established the University so that young people can learn practical skills related to their areas of academic interest, while going to the university. By so doing, they can either become entrepreneurs or a readily trained for companies, government or NGOs and employ them immediately upon graduation. He further stated, “Our school is wholly owned by Imo State government and licensed by National Universities Commission (NUC) to run 29 unique courses and has 5 faculties, which include Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Business Studies, Engineering and Social Sciences and all our deans are professors”.
Prince Njemanze noted that to encourage more students to come to the school, the State Governor, HE Senator Hope Uzodimma magnanimously approved the lowest school fees of N40,000 (Forty thousand Naira) only for agriculture related courses, while others would pay only N80,000. The Vice Chancellor of UAES, Prof. Patrick Egbule in the same light has approved the Jamb cut off mark of 120.
“Another factor working in favor of this new university is its perfect location in a serene expanse of agrarian community land, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is strategically on the banks of the Otamiri river, along Owerri/Port Harcourt expressway and we are thinking of how to harness the river to the benefit of our school. Infrastructure and facilities at the school which was inherited from the Imo State Polytechnic are currently being upgraded. This is to give our students the great opportunity to concentrate on their school work, while enjoy the emerging university environment which is being developed gradually”, according to Prince Njemanze.
The registrar further stated with delight that the school is renovating 4 students’ hostel that can accommodate nearly 300 students. The hosted are being transformed into apartment style accommodation with private toilets, kitchenettes, reading areas. Each building has two common rooms and a quadrangle for light exercises activities. “Ás a parent, this is one of the most exciting developments for me. I would opt my child to stay inside one of these hostels, that way the child’s exposure to the issues associated with living outside a school environment is grossly reduced” he said.
“As a specialized university, the UAES has already partnered with some organizations to develop her farms, plantations, ranches, a food processing factory and other facilities for practical training of our students”, he added.
Academic session would resume in January, 2022.
