So I have been worried lately with the ongoing craziness in my relationship with my babe . I noticed that anytime we are having a good moment or peaceful time she doesn't seem to be happy . Trees are very important. They help reduce heat, give shade, improve the air we breathe and even protect the environment. Life is simply better when trees are around.

I’ve noticed that many house owners don’t bother planting trees anymore. In fact, trees are now rare in residential areas. Even ordinary grass is not there again. Everywhere is just cement, tiles and interlock.

Yet, these same people complain every day about how the sun is too much. How do you expect the heat to reduce when there are no trees? Shade will not magically appear.

Imagine plucking fresh fruits from your own compound—mango, coconut, almond, guava. Apart from food, trees also make a place look nicer and cooler.

Sometimes I honestly wonder: can’t Nigerians think?

How do you cement your whole compound from fence to fence and still complain about heat? How you go cement all your compound, ehn?

Development is good, but completely removing nature is not progress. Planting a tree doesn’t cost much, and it helps both now and in the future.

If we don’t start paying attention to this, the heat we are complaining about today will only get worse tomorrow.
