The statement read in part, “We advise our people to disregard the claims that the rigging of the forthcoming election in our dear state is a foregone conclusion. This is a propaganda stunt.

“ “We trust the integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari who has consistently assured the nation that free, fair and transparent election will be one of his major legacies in the country. We have no reason to doubt him, despite the unconscionable behaviour of some people in his party.

“They have been using the propaganda stunt to intimidate Anambra people in the last couple of years, but it has always failed them. The Anambra State of 2021 is totally different from the Anambra State of 2003 or 2007.

“The rigging plans cannot work this time. The people of Anambra State, supported by their government, are ever ready to protect their state and its impressive progress of the last few years, rather than allow soldiers of fortune and buccaneers to toy with its destiny once again.

More information on how the 6 saboteur lawmakers, 4serving Commissioners and others were lured with 300million naira by the demonic Andy Uba to be part of the evil plot to set Anambra on fire.*

Umunnem ndi Anambra, I reliably gathered that the 6 lawmakers that defected to APC in a video that is trending online were given 300million naira bribe money to share.

They are not alone because my information revealed that 6 other lawmakers, 4 serving Commissioners and others got their own share of the 300million ill gotten money.

The assignment given to them to deliver is to destabilise our peaceful State and set it on fire to pave way for the emergence of the demonic Andy Uba as Anambra State Governor.

Ndi Anambra, we must see it as a patriotic duty to nip the evil plot of setting our State on fire in the bud because we don’t have another State to call our own.

Coordinator of Uba’s media office, Arinze Igboeli, said the APC, being the party at the centre, had many things working for it and that everything would fall into place in favour of Uba and his party.

Irked by those statements, the erudite professor, Soludo, who had governed the country’s apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), fired back at him, describing him as a total failure.

Soludo lampooned Uba for “wasting” eight years as a presidential aide and another eight years as a senator without any tangible achievement, saying that Ndi Anambra would resist his plot to waste their next four years and resources as well.

Deputy Director, APGA Campaign Media Directorate, Emeka Ozumba, in a statement, said Uba did not have what it takes to run for the exalted office.

“He is, in the words of Walter Lippman, the American political commentator, a pleasant man who, without any important qualification for the office, would like very much to be governor.

A recent memo from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the leadership of the PDP has sparked speculations about his intention to vie for the party’s presidential ticket in 2023.

Some of the hurdles raised by Secondus, according to investigation, are outstanding congresses (from ward to state levels) in over seven states; possible invalidation of the National Convention by court if the seven states are excluded; the November 6th governorship poll in Anambra State; putting a new zoning formula in place; and the need to give the 21-day statutory notice to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, Secondus and most members of the NWC are agreed that the request for the shift of date to elect new officers does not stop the party from appointing and inaugurating the party’s National Convention and Zoning committees.

A source, who spoke in confidence, said the October ending timeline is considered unrealistic by Secondus and most of the NWC members.

Five lawmakers, including three senators and two House members, corroborated to that following an initial tip-off that least $10 million was paid in cash to members of the National Assembly to help expedite passage of the bill despite widespread opposition to a clause that granted only three per cent of upstream oil companies’ operating income to host communities.

Specifically, the lawmakers are seething over what one of them described as “greedy misconduct” of Senate President Ahmad Lawan and Speaker Femi Gbajabiamiala, who were accused of taking $2 million each in cash bribes to ram the bill through despite protests from host communities.

A Nigerian billionaire of far-reaching acclaim who has perhaps the largest contemporary stake in the oil and gas industry was said to have provided $2 million alone, while other firms and individuals in the oil and gas industry provided the remaining $8 million. The Gazette could not publicly identify the billionaire because our reporters have yet to obtain direct evidence linking him to the bribery.
