I may need to change my bank oh...This one that Ecobank dictates what % we can bid. It's ridiculous... for 91 days 8% is the max we are permitted to bid and for 182days, its only 11%...
I have become oloju ko koro...I enjoyed my 14.50% for 182 days I got the last time. I cant deal with this small %
Still thankful though.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ummitoagirl(f): 4:00pm On Apr 27, 2015
Oh my goodness....
My bank offered me 13% for 182 days a while ago n I refused! Damn it... The rates are going soo low. Time to go back to my 91days or just see how things play out after the election.

I absolutely agree with you. I have now put off bidding till next 2 weeks again. I doubt I want to go with 13.25% for 182 days.

Pluslargent:
13.25? that's terrible...it should have dropped at 14 at least until after gubernatorial be for it dips lower than that..

With the change in power and successful election, rate will dramatically reduce. My bank is recommending I bid 13.25% for 182 days. It was around 14.50% 2 weeks ago.

kennyzboy:
Greetings house gurus, what rates do you suggest for bidding this week? Would like to have an idea on your forecasting skill analysis. I think maybe the rates might not differ significantly from the previous one, or what do you think?

O ga oh... U will get around N26,250.00 after 91 days and if you invested 1M for 1 yr (364 days) your return should be N105,000.00 at 10.50%

deebsman1:
Am having difficulty calculating the t-bill return, i will like someone to please tell me the exact amount of what N1,000,000.00 will return in 91day at the rate of 10.5%. is it N105,000.00? no mind my olodo ooo grin

Imagine, I instructed 14.30 for 182 days, need I say more....ecobank didn't bother to process my request.

anybody placed bids yesterday? I did with first bank But havnt heard nothing from them. what was the outcome?

Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ummitoagirl(f): 12:31pm On Mar 26, 2015
Same with ECobank, I am so upset...I even sent them the new calendar on the new bidding dates.
My account manager said the treasury department are not aware, therefore no bidding will take place.
They probably wanted the bank to bid, so they will sell to customers from the secondary market.

dandollar1:

Na wa o, GTB is saying they are not aware that there is an auction this week, but zenith bank confirmed it. Does it mean some banks can decide to opt out?
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ummitoagirl(f): 12:14am On Mar 25, 2015
My bank manager said she didn't get instructions from the head office about the bidding taking place and the banks recommended rates. So, I guess nothing for me this week.

What a good gamble, Whaooo....I didn't lose out on both though, I got my 182days smiley. I wasn't too comfy with the 364 days though, seems too long of a time to lock down my cash. Very happy I didn't put all my eggs in one basket. Will add the gains to my capital & reinvest next week.
BTW, according to the chart I attached, does it mean an auction take place next week?

ummitoagirl:
I did 15.40% for 364 days & 14.50% for 182 days...
fingers crossed!...

I wish you all success as you reap massive gains this week...by next bid,the bulk of the elections would have come and gone and at least,it will be much clearer where Naija is headed economically et al... stay blessed and rich grin cheesy

Whaoooo this is massive!!! The rate keeps going up.
I requested for 182 days @ 13.5% and my bank didn't put it through, I was late on the submission. I now see this as a blessing in disguise. My bank would usually recommend 3 stop rates, you choose one. I was initially going to go for 364 days, as CBN last stop rate was 15.25%, (feb.) but my banks' highest recommendation was 14.20% which I thought was too low, I was expecting like 15%.
Seeing this result, I am confident ecobank will recommend 15.25% as the highest stop rate for the next auction.

kaptinphilz:
March 4 result from cbn site
91 days tenor=10.8%
182 days tenor=14.85%
364 days tennor=15.899%

I m still waiting for first bank notification. I don't know if thier bid is successful.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ummitoagirl(f): 12:29am On Mar 06, 2015
Exactly what happend to me... I use another bank though. Exactly 182 days @ 13.5%, see it as a blessing though. Look at the stop rate for 4th of March on CBN website, the rates will be soo high for next 2 weeks.
tunai:
I do not know why GTbank keeps frustrating my tbills effort,I wrote a letter for 182days @ 13.5% which is far lower than CBN stop rate and yet they did not do the transaction.

I am beginning to lose my believe in this stupid bank, this is the second time this is happening back to back.

Thank God for nairaland, I never heard of this BVN oh. Tell me, do I have to come to naija before June/July? Or can I do it anytime I visit? Which offcourse maybe 2016.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ummitoagirl(f): 7:53pm On Feb 19, 2015
Just checked and no 364. I got same rate in my inbox from my bank too though 15.25%. I will assume that's the general stop rate, incentive to go for 364 days I tell you.
Damolaskynov:
Guys,
I am currently on the Central Bank webpage for government securities and I can see from what's published there that only 91 and 182 days NTB was issued for auction yesterday 18th February. I am worried as my account officer did not respond and my account was not debited for a rebid of 364 days that matured yesterday.
My question goes specifically to feelamong, please where did you get the 364 day rate as published on your post? On the CBN website, nothing was published for 364 day tenor and I don't know if that rate you published was specific to only the bank you use or a general stop-rate. My account officer is still not picking my calls!!!!
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ummitoagirl(f): 7:50pm On Feb 19, 2015
Basically, my bank gives you 3 rates and you chose any % you want, anyone that went with ecobank for 91 days probably lost out.

Bamz:

I just think it's safer going with the bank's rate.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ummitoagirl(f): 5:33pm On Feb 19, 2015
Lost this bid, I will have to wait for 2 weeks....damn! 15.25% for 365 days is amazing...maybe I will go for 15% 364 days next time.
