Politics / 2 APC Lawmakers Appear On INEC List After Losing The Primaries by ummitoagirl(f): 11:24pm On Jan 30, 2015
Culled from
http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/01/30/2-apc-lawmakers-retain-tickets/

Eromosele Ebhomele

The list of candidates for the House of Assembly election in February released by Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has finally put paid to two contentious seats at the Lagos State House of Assembly, western Nigeria.

Two aspirants on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, who defeated incumbent lawmakers lost their tickects. The two seats are Lagos Island Constituency 1 and Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 2 occupied by Hakeem Masha and Ramotallahi Akinola-Hassan respectively.

Though they were trounced at the primaries, the duo had put up a strong fight to reclaim the tickets, while their constituents and supporters watched with anxiety as events unfolded.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries for Lagos Island Constituency 1 was won by Wasiu Sanni-Eshilokun, former chairman of the Lagos Island Local Government council.

However, the cry against Eshilokun was that he wanted to take the position of a judge in his own case.

Eshilokun, who was already being touted as one of those scheming to become the Speaker of the House when the eighth Assembly begins, was accused of not properly resigning as the Secretary of the APC in Lagos State before seeking elective position as stipulated in the party’s guideline.

He was also accused of trying to place personal interest above party interest as being the Secretary of the party made it the first time he was appointed to serve the party since he had always enjoyed holding various positions including as lawmaker and aide to governor.

It was learnt from sources at the Acme Road, Agidingbi secretariat of APC that the party was not comfortable with the complaints from people against the former council chairman. It then convinced Eshilokun to step down.

In Amuwo-Odofin, Suleiman Rauf had floored Akinola-Hassan, leading to serious tension in the area that lasted for weeks.

It was learnt that Akinola-Hassan had been confident that she would win the primaries, but was allegedly betrayed by some elders of the party.

Apart from these arguments, the APC, it was learnt, had given special consideration to lawmakers who are serving for the first time. Out of the 16 first term members of the House, Masha and Akinola-Hassan were the affected lawmakers who got back their tickets after losing the party primary.

Adebimpe Akinsola, a representative of Ikorodu Constituency 2 was not so lucky. She was beaten at the primary election by Nurudeen Saka Solaja.

Contacted, Masha, who reluctantly spoke about the development, said he could only thank the APC for considering him for a second term as lawmaker.

He also promised to remain loyal and double his effort and contribution to the vision and mission of the APC.

Imposed or favoured, Ambode worked hard! He campaigned hard! Visited all the LCDA's. He deserves to win.
The other aspirants are acting as if they were forced to contest. Abeg, let them all move to one side and let Ambode be crowned.

Thanks...I appreciate your input.
The reason why I was gonna ask you on board is because I will be going into a market I haven't much clue about. I will be relocating to nigeria after like 16/17 years away.
I will stick with d boutique business & try the renting when I am well settled.

Thank you sooo much for your input. Yes, the wardrobe industry is a good start. For me, I wear so much well embellised clothing, after I do once and it appears in major magazines, parties, online etc. I can't wear that same outfit anymore. As I am in Europe, I sell it online as worn once and I probably gain half of the original price back. That was where I got the idea from...women don't need 200 clothing in their wardrobe oh, we only wear some items once.
Furthermore, for men and wedding industry. How many weddings do you want to buy suit for? Just hire. The idea is working well in Europe, not sure ego will allow it work in naija.

Once again thanks. I really need to get in touch with you privately, I am turning 30 and it's time I take the bold step and set up my business...I would love to have you on board.

excelsiorfarm:
hmmmmm interesting idea, before u use my write up to conclude, NOTE THIS - some ideas that looks wacky/silly had shown to have made tremendous successes around the world. Now to my take, it can thrive depending on your approach to it, there are many ways to every market. For me, i won't loan such, personal reason & contentment. For another it different, might want to oppress or create an expression, for another it can be a sign of fulfilment for d duration that it lasted, just as renting a car. Another insight will be to work with those in d wardrobe set up of nollywood, they do a lot of work on getting clothes for their actors/actresses. In conclusion, it is your approach that would determine if it will fly, how high d idea will fly e.t.c, but d idea can be worked on.

I haven't been here in a while, abeg, will clothing rental business thrive in naija? Mainly women but I am sure men will mostly benefit. You don't have to have a wardrobe full of clothing....just wear, love and return. Please advise. I am just working towards next year, need to start my business in Nigeria.. Hoping for a store around ikeja. Thanks

This is me at the moment....turning 30 next year but hey....I am looking at the positive aspects of my 20's...u ain't alone in ur thoughts bruv

BankoleNco:
Hey guys,
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'd go ahead and post here as it is related to health (depression).
Well, I don't want to bore you with long sermon-esque writings, so I'd skip the fancy stuff and go straight
to the point. I'd be turning 30 mid next year and its really eating me up! I feel depressed and old! Its been
giving me sleepless nights and middle of the night insomnia I wake up 4.00 am for no reason nowadays
and just stare at the ceiling lost in thought and scared as hell with thoughts of being in the twilight of my youth,
knowing I'd have to get married pretty soon, just 10 years away from 40, no more clubbing, no more spontaneous
Saturday drives. The worst part is I spent MOST of my teenage and youth life in self development and didn't have
time to indulge in some most of the activities attached to youthful exuberance. Its paid off, yes! But, I AM DEPRESSED right now! sad
Did any of you guys currently 30 and above experience same? Would really help if someone said something. *sigh*

Àre willing to take responsibility? The child is being well taken care of! in a happy home...why break another home & yours?..If the woman needs ur help, she will come searching.

I read you got in touch with the lady? if the child knows clearly that her mother's hubby isn't her dad, & her step dad doesn't mind... then meet the child, pay your child support, take care of ur full responsibility. Pay her school fees as well & arrange meetings with the child. You and her mom can come to an arrangement.

As for your wife, well, she will be upset but she will have no choice. You may want your boys to meet their sister and have day out..

smilelane:

Do u honestly think its so easyto forget u have a child somewhere who probably need ur attention while u curse parents of abandoned children on the street?

Its a different ball game when u aren't aware.
Family / Re: Just Discovered I Have A 9 Year Old Daughter by ummitoagirl(f): 4:16pm On Dec 27, 2013
bigfree: @op. You do nothing!!!
take care of your family and let her take care of hers.
Even if the child is yours; after nine years you wanna play father or what? The child has a father and he is not you.

Exactly what you should do!...from a woman's point of view...MOVE ON, the child has a father and u clearly aint the one!...You have just donated ur sperm to a very lovely woman!...
Health / Re: Allergy And Asthma by ummitoagirl(f): 9:10pm On Nov 09, 2013
Asthma can not be contracted..... It can be inherited from parents etc though...
Also, he is an adult, at this stage he should have his asthma under control, Know what triggers it!.
When I was younger & in Nigeria, I constantly had attacks, but around age 15...It became very rare.

Always have your Inhalers!...

Ventolin evohaler/inhaler for instant treatment ie wheezing
& preventer: I use Beclazone..This is to prevent any future attack: should be taken daily (I hardly do)

Avoid stress (usually affects me) avoid oily food, avoid dust! pollen etc.

Yes, fresh air helps me...I wouldn't know how, but i guess away from stuffiness!
Business / Re: The Owner Of N800,000 Collected His Money & Rewarded Me With N20,000 by ummitoagirl(f): 1:10am On Nov 07, 2013
I was supposed to send 20k to a friend in naija, The sender mistakenly sent 70k, the friend called to thank me & I was shocked & told him straight away I sent 20k.
The friend started acting funny when I told him he will return the 50k, he started giving excuses etc...After a few days, he returned the money & the transfer ppl gave him 5k extra to say thanks.
I was glad, In fairness, if he didn't return the money, then he will surely lose triple that amount in future & I will pray the money washes away all my bad omen/health, luck etc...we will dash that friend.

I also sent 20k to my grandma a few weeks back to say happy eid, I mistakenly again sent the wrong account details! thank God, it didn't go into any account...It was on hold till we gave them the correct account number.

You have done well poster! God will surely reward you & grant u ur own funds! That's the right thing to do...

NB: If you found the money somewhere (outdoors) without any owner, & you believe the next person to find it will keep it, then in that case, you should keep such money!.
