Kirigidi: OP, I'm not so happy wit dis ur post. Why do u hav to treat Urhobo dis way nd surprisly, u ar even an Urhobo? How did u know dat it was Urhobo language dat borrowd those words frm Igbo nd Yoruba languages, nd not d other way round? Is it because Urhobo is a minority language nd d other two ar majority languages? So u mean because Urhobo is a minor language there4 Igbo nd Yoruba languages can't loan/borrow words from it? Dat is a lie. Languages dat ar neighbors can borrow words frm one anoda irrespectiv of size. While I'm not disputin d fact dat Urhobo language share these words in common d them, it is also possible dat those words u listd were borrowd frm Urhobo language by Igbo nd Yoruba languages. Moreova, d name "Jesu" u mentiond did not in anyway originatd frm Yoruba. Rather, "Jesu" is d Portuguese name for Jesus. And if u culd rememba, d Portuguese were d first Europeans we interactd wit via trades, nd many of dia words were adoptd by our ancestors, e.g. oro (gold), sabato (sandals), Escravos, Forcados, etc. Bros I have been reading quietly for long without commenting but it seems you have given small reason to comment. There's no point denigrating or trying to create any form of disrespect for Urhobo tribe, but you have just made it obvious how personally insecure you are. For one I respect the fact no language is absolute and all languages lend from one another, but moving further to find the entomology of certain words in Urhobo you discover that these words are actually borrowed into the Urhobo language, the fact does not in any way undermines the uniqueness of Urhobo language and her respect which you have ignorantly made apparent. If you have made good research you won't be sounding the way you do because you will remain as true as objectives as possible. There's also no point trying to downplay the words in other tribe because you felt been ridiculed which is not....contribute to the topic, bring out facts, improve your argument derived base on objectivity. And you'd be applaud simple. No hard feeling pls. |

ZUBY77: Good day the blessed youths of Nigeria. My name is Samson, known online as Zuby77. I am from Enugu State, that makes me a full citizen of Nigeria. Despite the agitation of some of my brothers from the South East, i still believe that we can salvage this country without violence. We can only achieve that by coming together and forming a formidable group that will be heard from across the world. This group will be open to any youth that has the interest of Nigeria at heart. I have read Omojuwa, Adesamni and others fighting individual wars criticizing the government of the day for doing this or not doing that. I respect them for that. However, the truth remains that the people they are critising does not know the mechanisms of modern day leadership. It is left for us to update them on what obtains today. There are things you might think your father knows, but the truth is that he doesn't know it.
A typical example was the day i visited the State CID Awka to bail a relative who was invited by the Police but detained. It started when i configured a newly acquired Android phone purchased by the station Captain. He was amazed at how easy i operated the phone that he couldn't help but asked where i learnt how to do that. I told him i learnt it in Germany and i seized that opportunity to lecture him on how Police operates in developed Countries. He listened to me for over an hour while i lectured this gentleman on what he doesn't know about Police work. At the end of the day, he was so impressed that he didn't ask for bail out money from me. He gave me his phone number and asked that i can always come to his office for chats. After that day, it dawned on me that there are basic things we know more than our old politicians, Police officers, teachers, Army officers and even Pastors. This people sent us to schools so that we could be their eyes when they start getting old. Unfortunately, our politicians and their system are old already but they still hold on to it because we are not teaching them enough. We are not being the light they wanted us to be. I see it as being ignorant if we think that they can just hand over the system to us without knowing the direction we will follow.
Let us not bring in APC or PDP propaganda into this, we can all agree that they are the same, they just changed party names. Let us not bring in Geo Zones into this. Let us see the politicians as what they are; the same. We must not allow our country to die because someone from another tribe is the president or Vice President.
It is on this ground that i appeal to our Youths here on nairaland to come together and start a peaceful group that will contribute ideas that can convince our old politicians that we are capable of moving this nation forward. If we sit down and complain or criticize them from now until the next 20 years, things will only remain the same. This is not a movement or political party. If we will adopt one political party eventually, we all have to agree to it first. We will map out how we will start, write our manifesto and everything that will help this country move forward. We will have plans to implement every policy we think can move Nigeria forward. I personally believe that if this country gets it right, the cry for secession will die naturally. You can indicate your interest by posting a reply on this thread. When we eventually have a group outside this forum, we will add you. We will need people to create and handle Twitter and Facebook accounts for us. We will assign that heaven responsibility to someone when we have stability.
Thank You. Wow dis is great.....I'm 100% interested.... Anything that will move this country forward, I'm in for it. |

udokpuenyi: The below was one of your earlier post on issue of Biafra
Stop telling unnecessary lies to feed your hatred for the struggle Bros I hate to comment on this thread but I just to reason with what you wrote there and I discover there are loopholes and inconsistency in your comment.... That same comment you quoted and referred to, I read it some two or three days ago on another thread, this one is on this thread and now....its simply means you are the one trying to cover up or justify a mirage. Obviously you were not part of the protest, you did not see it, seemingly you are not even in the east as we speak, you have no solid evidence that that protest took place, you are just reading it here. So who is peddling lies here? BTW; as for the issue of biafra I just hope it is actualize, and things go to rest, actually I remain indifferent as regard the issue but I believe that come what may, the will of God shall prevail. But I sincere wish biafra materialise. |

ZUBY77: You have your point. I mentioned 'sponsoring' because I feel there has to be some kind of starting point in the beginning. Nobody wants to spend his money, that includes me but then, before anything moves forward, someone has to take responsibilities initially until stability is achieved.
As for being controversial, I quite agree with you that the way I view our youths, sometimes one has to come straight forward without trying to paint words red and white. If you come close enough to me, you will actually understand that I am one guy you would want to be his friend. Of course.... |

You obviously can't read. He mentioned other players, you low-IQ monkey. And you are a big fool for insulting.... If u can't quote without throwing provocative comments all in the name of making a point better don't quote me ever again.... Yes I said he single out Mikel, I saw the other name but the emphasis was on Mikel, a closer look will show the stupid Alan resentment towards the Nigerian. All u do is look at the surface point of view, what about the underlining motive, ofcourse your sense of reasoning and your well educated guts will never see that. Come to think of it, even if you have to correct someone, must it be through insults and abuses. Smh. How better are you? |

ZUBY77: This is the best point I have been trying to tell our youths. The future of this Nation belongs to the youths. Let us forget our get rich quick and seize this opportunity to take over PDP, restructure it with great manifesto.. In five years, we will be a force to reckon with. You can see that the old thieves are only interested in the moving train.
Sitting and crying behind our keyboard won't chnage a thing.
Let us not be in a haste.. if Nigeria becomes good and in good path in 10 years from now, it is still fine
We can simply start by organizing ourselves here. Every interested person should indicate. In a months time, we will vote for our leaders.. And kick off our campaign. We have the power of the Internet
I will start a thread for this and I will sponsor anyone we will send to do something for us until we have a shape. We can open a whatsapp group too and kick off with 100 people. If you love this country enough, please now is the time.
Thanks.. What can I say or do than to join this exceptional spirit of patriotism in achieving a better Nigeria.. I hold you Zuby in high esteem, though you are very controversial, yet I see true leader inbuilt in you.. Sponsoring someone else maybe sceptical to me, why not let achieve a formidable ground saturated with patriots of great determination, then we move from there. |
