Abi.The problem with Zoology students is that they did'nt apply directly to study the course.Most were in the Department due to lack of space in The College of Medicine and Pharmacy school.In my school,most Zoology students sit for jamb yearly or try to transfer to other Departments,while some are sucessful some just accept their faith and work hard inorder to graduate with a good result.An average Nigerian does'nt know much about Zoology and Botany.

zoology as a field of a study is not d problem its the term 'zoology' itself, people often confuse it to d study of just dos animal in d zoo, which is nt true
i blv it wil b a sought after field if it is knwn as MACROBIOLOGY,.,,,
as a zoology student u deal wt animals that r of medical importance such as parasites and insects, nobody wil teach u hw to rear lions or elephant in zoology,

No course is a waste of time.I understand how you feel,though i don't know much about zoology.All i can tell you is to learn a skill,something that will add value to you.Try as much as possible to graduate with 2.1 at least because opportunityY can come at anytime,just be prepared.The labour market is saturated already coupled with too many biological/medical courses,be ready to switch fields at anytime.Even the so called professional courses are finding it difficult nowadays.Nigeria of today is not easy and PLEASE do not carry or exhibit any form of INFERIORITY issues in you,studying zoology is not the end of the world.

Scholars in the house,what are d career opportunities for zoologist after their degree,because I am currently studying zoology in my school,and I feel like changing d course, but d department doesn't allow students to cross from them to another department, so that is d reason why I come to seek knowledge from nairalander that what are d likely job area where zoologist can be employ or it is just a waste of time?
