Politics / Re: How Osinbajo ‘goofed’ On Nigeria Remaining Together – Niger Delta Monarch, Ayemi by Unimaginable123: 7:11pm On Jun 26, 2017
hilroy:
Let's all assume referendum is the way to go, and Igbos decide to remain. That will still not make them become president. Who is going to vote for an Igbo presidential candidate? Is it the Northerners they call backward people or South westerners they call cowards? Politically, Igbos are the most naive group I have ever seen. They suck in playing political cards. And if they decide to opt out, trust me, nobody wants them out of their region more than Yorubas and Hausas
so agitate for the referendum

Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Problems Started With Awo’s Introduction Of Tribal Politics — Unongo by Unimaginable123: 6:42pm On Jun 26, 2017
StOla:

The real question is what was Azikiwe's business contesting for elections in the SW. Nigeria was not yet independent, yet the Igbos were already planning how to take over everywhere.

We knew him to be born in Zungeru which is in the North, and tribally from Onitcha in the East, and politically a son of Herbert Macaulay in Lagos the capital of Nigeria.

So what exactly was his business competing outside his land of birth or tribe, when other regions were having indigenous Premiers?

Anyway, Awolowo who understood parliamentary politics knew that you don't become premier until a government was formed. Azikiwe found himself seating on his single seat which he won, and he still had his band of thoughtless Yoruba NCNC party members who also had won seats, yet were not ambitious to aspire to the Premiership in their own region.
Zik did not contest for election in SW. His party did. Parliamentary system of government as practised in the UK (which is what Nigeria was practising then) is different from presidential system of govt. U better read it up

Tribal politics or not it doesn't make sense for an easterners to come to the west to be first Minister. The truth is that for an easterners like Zik even trying to be leader of the western region shows the hospitable nature of the Yorubas.

it's no longer one Nigeria? A fulani man was the mayor of Enugu in the 1st republic

its actually Restaurant's bar from the post...if the restaurant has a bar.....not drinking bars generally!
that's what I'm saying. A rantuarant's bar is different from a bar aka beer parlour
Politics / Re: Time To Enforce Laws Banning Smoking In Bars & Restaurants - Minister Of Health by Unimaginable123: 6:24pm On Jun 24, 2017
The minister of health should re-read no 6. "restuarants' bar" (that's bar of restuarants that sell alcoholic drinks) not restaurants and bars. What kind of people do we have in the helms of affairs in this country if people don't smoke in bars, popularly called beer parlours, where else can they smoke?
