The police in Ogun State have arrested a couple, Chioma and Innocent Anozie , for allegedly torturing an 11-year-old girl , Oluchi , in Ebute , in the Ibafo area of Ogun State .

The couple allegedly flogged the victim with ropes , starved her of food, and locked her up in a toilet for two days for wanting to play with other children in the neighbourhood.

Some residents, who found her crying in the toilet , reportedly called the attention of some soldiers in the community.

But reprieve did not come Oluchi’s way until the intervention of our correspondent who alerted the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters .

Some policemen from the Ibafo division , led by the Divisional Crime Officer, later arrived at the scene and rescued the victim.

The primary four pupil started living with the couple about four years ago when she was brought from her hometown in Owerri, Imo State .

However, she was said to have been subjected to different forms of inhuman treatment by the couple who had yet to have a child .

Most residents of Ebute Road , Ibafo , who spoke with our correspondent on Friday, said Chioma , in particular , always tortured the victim for every offence .

The landlady of their house, Mrs . Florence Sanusi, noted that cries of the victim always filled the compound each time Chioma assaulted her .

She said, “They have been living in my house since December 2014. I , however, observed that she (Chioma ) always flogged the girl . There was a day it rained heavily and I was hearing the girl ’s cry . When I queried her husband, he said nothing was happening.

“ But when I saw the girl the next day , her body was full of torture marks . Her eye was also swollen . She told me her guardian flogged her with cables .

“ Recently, I heard her crying again and when I could not bear it , I warned them to stop the abuse or I would evict them from my house . Because of my reaction , they instructed the girl that whenever they flogged her , she must not cry. So, I started to hear muffled groans.

“ I was fed up with their action and was planning to issue them a notice to quit this morning ( Friday) when I was informed that they had locked the girl in the toilet without food for the past two days. When I talked to the girl, she said her madam said she would be in the toilet for 21 days and that was why I raised the alarm .”

After getting her details, the soldiers reportedly called a relative who brought her from the village, asking if she was aware of the maltreatment .

The relative in turn called the couple to query them on the incident.

A resident, who did not want to be identified , said the soldiers reported at the Ibafo Police Station and returned with two policemen .

When we start to have negative thoughts, it’s hard to stop them. And it’s much easier said than done to shift your focus to positive thoughts. But it’s the only way, especially if you want to avoid going down a path that is painful and unnecessary.

According to WEBVIBEZ Here are ten things I did to help overcome my negative thoughts that you can also try:

1. Meditate or do yoga.
One of the first things I did was head to a yoga class. It took my focus away from my thoughts and brought my attention to my breath. Yoga is also very relaxing, which helped ease my mind. Yoga helped me stay present to my experience so instead of jumping to what could happen, it brought me back to the now—the only moment, the most important moment.

2. Smile.
I didn’t do much of this during the weekend, so I literally had to bring myself in front of a mirror and force myself to smile. It really does help change your mood and relieve stress. I also felt lighter because it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown.

3. Surround yourself with positive people .
I called a friend who I knew could give me constructive yet loving feedback. When you’re stuck in a negative spiral, talk to people who can put things into perspective and won’t feed your negative thinking.

4. Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive .
For example, instead of thinking, “We are going to have a hard time adjusting to our living situation,” think, “We will face some challenges in our living situation, but we will come up with solutions that we will both be happy with.”

5. Don’t play the victim. You create your life—take responsibility.
The way I was thinking and acting, you would think I was stuck. Even if our living situation becomes unbearable, there is always a way out. I will always have the choice to make change happen, if need be.

6. Help someone.
Take the focus away from you and do something nice for another person. I decided to make a tray of food and donate it to the Salvation Army. It took my mind off of things and I felt better for helping someone else.

7. Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward.
It’s easy to dwell on your mistakes. I felt terrible that I acted this way and that I wasted our weekend. The only thing I can do now is learn from my mistakes and move forward. I definitely don’t want to have a weekend like that again.

8. Sing.
I don’t remember lyrics very well and it’s probably the reason that I don’t enjoy singing, but every time I do sing I always feel better. When we sing, we show our feelings and this provides an amazing stress relief.

9. List five things that you are grateful for right now.
Being grateful helps appreciate what you already have. Here’s my list: my cats, health, a six-week trip to Asia, a new yoga class that I’ll be teaching, and for my mom’s biopsy coming out clean.

10. Read positive quotes.
I like to place Post-It notes with positive quotes on my computer, fridge door, and mirror as reminders to stay positive.

Juliana, who turned 22-years-old back in June 2017, revealed that she lost her virginity when she was 17-year-old to her married music teacher, who brainwashed her with the promise of marriage. The actress said it happened in a cheap hotel room and was a painful experience. She shed tears during the encounter and he kept pleading with her to lower her voice in order not to attract unwanted attraction. The deed indeed happened, and she became even more emotional after finding out later on that she didn't bleed when she was deflowered.

Going further, Juliana revealed that her pastor also sexually abused her. This happened in the Church office after he claimed God informed him that she needed a spiritual bath in his office, which he described as a place that had been supernaturally made a spiritual bathroom. He anointed her head, and eyes, did the sign of the cross on her chest and wanted to touch her privates. She stopped him and wanted to do it herself. Sometimes fellow ushers at work with her made jest, wondering why such a popular person was doing the same job as they were. It was however a humiliating experience of not being paid after hard work that made her realize that it was time to stop.

Juliana, the head girl in her secondary school, also revealed that even though she passed jamb, she lost her admission to study Mass Communication at the University of Ibadan due to lack of funds to pay for her acceptance fee, tuition and other necessary payments.

A pregnant housewife , Halima, has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing her husband, Ibrahim Ismail , at their house in Nasarawo Demsa community, in the Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State .

Halima was said to be pregnant with their fourth child when the couple had a disagreement on Thursday which culminated in the death of the businessman.

A neighbour of the couple, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said the disagreement bordered on foodstuffs bought by Ibrahim .

He said, “Around 5 .30am on Thursday , I heard my wife shouting and screaming . I asked her what happened and she said the wife of our next-door neighbour had killed him .

“ When I got to the man’s house , I saw him in a pool of blood. There were a lot of sympathisers in his room , mostly women. When I tried to talk to him , he could not answer back and appeared lifeless. The wife had also been apprehended.

“ When I enquired what happened , I was told that Ibrahim went to buy foodstuffs in the market so that she could cook for the family. However , when he returned from the market, he did not meet her at home .

“ He was troubled and looked for her everywhere . When he couldn’t find her , he left the foodstuffs and went out . When he returned to the house some minutes later , he discovered that she had returned home .

“ He asked her where she went and why she left the foodstuffs he bought for her , but that started an argument between them .

“ During the quarrel, the man took a wood and hit her with it. The woman went to pick a knife she was using to cut onions and stabbed him . He fell and collapsed. ”

The neighbour said policemen from the Numan division , who had been alerted by some other residents , later arrived at the scene to arrest the suspect .

He explained that the victim was taken to a general hospital where he was confirmed dead by a doctor.
The witness explained that the body was taken to the victim’s family’ s house where he was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

The source noted that two of the couple’s children were not living with them, adding that they usually quarrelled.

The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Othman Abubakar, said he could not reach the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area.

“ I can only confirm the story tomorrow ( Monday ). I have been trying to reach the DPO, but he is not available, ” he said.

The Nigeria Police force have arrested gangs of vicious and notorious suspected kidnappers terrorizing Abuja-Kaduna Highway. Not only was large caches of arms and ammunition recovered, but a whole lot of properties forcefully taken from their victims were found.

The kidnappers' dens, hideouts, camps and other black spots in the forest along Abuja-Kaduna Highway were stormed and raided by the Police within the last few days and in the process three (3) victims were rescued unhurt from the gangs without payment of any ransom, and they have been reunited with their families.

Some of the victims have identified most of the suspects as the people that kidnapped them. Also, all the suspects were said to have confessed and admitted to the various criminal roles they played in the commission of the crimes. They will be arraigned in court after investigation is over.

Lagos—From today, bus conductors in Lagos will start wearing uniform as part of efforts to promote the Smart City Initiatives, SCI, of the state government.

This was disclosed by the National President of the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria, BCAN, Comrade Israel Adeshola, in an interview with Vanguard.

According to him, the Lagos State government has approved the association’s uniforms and badges with name tag and identification numbers for easy identification of registered conductors..

He said the use of badges on uniforms is to address criminal tendencies by some bus conductors, calling on Lagosians to support the initiative.

According to him; ‘’The re-branding of bus conductors in the state which is in partnership with the Lagos State Government is a project that has been in the master plan of the state government in a way to stem criminal activities and also protect the lives and properties of Lagosians.

‘’The BCAN has been partnering with the state government through the ministry of transportation to train members of the association who are now registered by the government.’’

Adeshola, who said the conductor’s job was vital in the transportation sector, noted that the organization has embarked on sensitization and training of members since inception.

He also said that the objective is to make conductor’s job attractive, respected and dignified as obtainable globally.

James was said to have challenged his area chief, Mukkuni, that he could spend 10 cold nights sleeping in the graveyard without interruption to prove that he doesn't fear prison.

The chief agreed and James went to lie flat on top of a grave.

A man who attacked, r*ped and murdered a little girl, has himself been killed in an unbelievably brutal manner afterwards.

The man was killed at close range
Muhammad al-Maghrabi, a 41-year-old man who r*ped and killed a three-year-old girl has been executed with a machine gun.

According to Metro UK, the man was killed as he lay on the floor following his conviction over the death of the little girl, Rana Yahya Al-Matari.

His execution, at point blank range, was broadcast on live TV across Yemen.

He was shot dead in front of a crowd of thousands of people, including many who recorded what happened on their mobile phones, in the capital city of Sanaa.

His hands were tied behind his back as he was led from a prison van before being laid down on a rug in front of the crowds of people.

A man, believed to be a police officer, then approached him and shot him in the back as he lay on the floor.

Murder, according to Sharia law, is punishable by the death sentence, but families of the victim can request that the punishment is less severe.

al-Maghrabi admitted to r*ping the girl in his hut to the south of the capital city on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
