God impart onto us His own righteousness. He was the one who counted the believer righteous at salvation. The whole payment needed for the process was made by Him. Man’s only part in salvation is receiving by believing. Man has nothing to boast of in the plan of salvation.
"

The payment needed for the process was made by Him to WHO ?

Read that again, slowly. It's not talking about a payment being directly made to someone. It's about the claims of justice. Jesus died on man's behalf, so God would have the legal backing to forgive Man rather than just dismissing His sin. When you hear that Jesus has paid for Man's sins, it means He has died in his place, so God will be just and the justifier of them that will believe in what He did for them. Rather than just dismiss man's sins after the fall, He let Himself take the punishment that that sin deserved because He is not only a merciful God, He is also a just God. Sin has to be punished. But He bore the punishment for us in His own body. That's the payment

The subject of eternal salvation has been one of the most controversial topics in Christendom. The reasons are actually not far-fetched. Salvation is the core of Christianity, the topic with the highest importance, which makes it the most sensitive topic.

It is the determining factor of the position of man in life after death. It is what decides if a man would spend life after death in torment or peace. Therefore, care is always taken not to get the topic of salvation wrong and therefore gamble with one’s eternity.

Many people have asked and still ask questions if eternal salvation is real if a believer does not become unsaved again in case he sinned after he has accepted Christ. If sin cannot really take away the believer’s salvation and the existence of what is called Apostasy. As usual, our answers to these questions are going to be coming from God’s manual to humanity, the scriptures.

When we talk of Salvation, what were we really saved from, or perhaps, the question should be what do we need to be saved from? In the beginning, God at creation made man has dominion over all that he has made, animals, grass, things, and so on. But man fell into deception and birthed sin, whose result is death.

Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die

Romans 5:18-19 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

By the disobedience of Adam in partaking of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, he invited sin into the world, and the result is death. This death is both eternal and physical.

Sin birthed weakness in the flesh of man and turned upside down the plan in the garden of Eden. However, we must remember that Adam was the one who invited sin into the equation and got humanity to a place of victimization and hopelessness, not God.

God saw the need for men for salvation and manifested the plan he has preconceived before the foundation of the world, which is the coming of Christ to die and resurrect as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of the sins of man and the impartation of eternal life.

Ephesians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

I John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

The coming of Christ for the salvation of men is not a reaction from God. God already foreknow the possibility of a man making a mess and already made a plan for it. He is omniscient.

When Christ died and was resurrected, he took away the sins of the world, and anyone who believes in him gets their sins washed away, no matter how bad they have been before. God did not just forgive the believer’s sins; He also promised not to remember them anymore!

Jeremiah 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more

Is this salvation made available by God in Christ eternal? Yes, it is. The first reason behind it is that it is all dependent on God from the beginning to the end, and not in any way on the effort of man. Now, if God cannot fail, then we know for sure that the salvation He made available cannot fail.

God impart onto us His own righteousness. He was the one who counted the believer righteous at salvation. The whole payment needed for the process was made by Him. Man’s only part in salvation is receiving by believing. Man has nothing to boast of in the plan of salvation.

If God is the one who saves us, then it’s on Him to keep us saved. If we fall away, especially perhaps because we fall into sin, even while we still did not reject Christ or His sacrifice for our sins, then God failed in His work and His plan is not perfect. But God cannot fail, and He did not fail.

His plans are perfect, He saves us and keeps us. He understands we are a work in progress when it comes to our lifestyle and He gave us His Spirit as a guide to direct us as we work on ourselves. (Romans 4:1-6, John 3:16-18, 10:28, Ephesians 2:9, Hebrews 5:9)

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.

Someone may ask then, what about scriptures that talk about losing our salvation, scriptures that talk of falling away?

Well, a good look at those scriptures would show that there must have been a misinterpretation, especially in the context in which they were written.

Let us take one of them for example;

Hebrews 6:4-7 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

Many have used these verses to preach that believers do fall away, and would need to be restored or resaved, else they would end up in hell. But believers do not fall away unless they are unbelievers.

Furthermore, the verses above make it clear that anyone who falls away cannot come back to salvation. The scriptures did not say “it is difficult”, it says “it is impossible”, and these are two different terms.

If you think a believer who falls away can be recovered based on this scripture, then you got it wrong, as these scriptures imply that that person you thought fall away and can come back actually never fall away in the first place.

The fact that there is the possibility of coming back into the fold proves that. This is one of the misinterpreted scriptures used to attack the reality of the everlasting life given to us by God in Christ Jesus.

Salvation is eternal, it is an undeniable fact. The scriptures teach us so!

Kobojunkie:
Those of you who pay tithes/taxes in the name of Jesus Christ deny yourselves sonship with God by your acts of disobedienceundecided
As Jesus Christ made clear, the Children of God do not pay taxes/Tithe in His name. So, do we ignore Jesus Christ so we can instead follow the doctrines and traditions of men(and their churches) instead? undecided

The passage you quoted is about Taxes, not Tithes. And here is the next verse after the one you quoted:

Mat 17:27 KJV Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

You can make your point without trying to twist scriptures to say what it didn't say. If we are to go buy by your logic, then Jesus later paid the tithe regardless of the motivation.

You see why you should never lift scriptures out of context to fit into your own beliefs? smiley

Blessings!

Who Is Actually Right Between Daddy Freeze And Other Nigerian Pastors When It Comes To The Issue Of Tithes In The New Testament?

Let's settle this once and for all.

For decades in Christendom, tithing has always emerged as one of the hottest topics. Its understanding and application especially as far as the New Testament is concerned has always been a matter that generates diverse views and numerous controversies.

Reasons responsible for these can be traceable to ignorance about the tithing topic, non-diligent or dishonest study and interpretation of the scriptures, twisting the scriptures to hijack the tithing pack for financial and material gain by ministers who have chosen to work unworthy of their calling, and so on.

The word tithe simply means 'a tenth part' of something. That is one part out of the ten equal parts something has been divided into.

Tithing is a practice that is relevant and is practised all through the Old Testament. But in the New Testament, the practice may not really be as seen in the old. Some who try to talk against tithing in the New Testament attempt to put tithing as part of the practices commanded under the law of Moses, which practices to a large extent have already been fulfilled by Christ and done away with in the New Testament, however, this is not the case.

Tithing was commanded under the Law of Moses, but the practice has been mentioned a few hundreds of years before the law of Moses as shown in the scriptures.

This was done by Abraham at first in his meeting with priest Melchizedek as he returns from a war he has just won.

Genesis 14:19-20 (KJV) And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

It was also promised to God by Jacob, based on some conditions.

Genesis 28:20-22 (KJV)  And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:

And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

These showed that the tithing-giving practice precedes the Law, and therefore, nullifying it in the New Testament on the basis of it being an Old Testament Law practice does not hold water.

The crux verse of the tithing practice in the Old Testament that has been the focus of many who advocate for the practice in the New Testament is from the book of Malachi.

Malachi 3:8-11 (KJV) Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

From the above scripture, Old Testament tithe advocates emphasise that you are under some sort of curse if you don't pay your tithe, and you are blessed if you do.

The problem with this theology however is that it puts the believers earning goodwill and blessings from God on the basis of the believer's tithing good performance.

This nullifies the crux point of the New Testament which is the belief that all we earn from God are gotten by Grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not on the basis of our works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

In the New Testament books, the tithe was mentioned in 3 scenarios.

Matthew 23:23 (KJV) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Luke 18:12 (KJV) I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

Hebrews 7:5-9 (KJV)  And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

The interesting thing to note in these 3 instances is the fact that tithing was not the crux of the matter being dwelled on in those scripture portions but was just mentioned in passing, in an attempt to make another point.

The reality is that tithing is not a topic that is given much attention in the New Testament. Giving is. We see the saints in the book of Acts selling their properties and bringing all the price of the purchase to the church to be distributed. (Acts 4:32-37)

There are a lot of instances where the apostle Paul talks about giving. (1Corinthinas 16, 2Corinthians 8, 9,) Giving to the church of God, giving to Ministers of the gospel, giving to the brethren, and so on. However, the percentage to give is not really stipulated. It is giver determined. If you choose to give ten percent, it is okay. If you choose to give more, it is good. That you give 10% or more does not mean God will love you less or more. He loves you all the same.

If you chose to call it tithe, offering, giving or whatever tag you chose to call it, whatever the percentages or amount you chose to give, it is your decision. You should just try to leverage the direction of the Holy Ghost in deciding what and how to give too.

Giving does not make God love you more or less, but it takes care of the brethren’s needs, is a token of love walk and shows your commitment to the business of the kingdom. You are blessed to bless, not the other way round.

A man is only as powerful as what he feeds his mind on a daily basis. Strong meals produce strong bodies, which also produce a very active life.

This is true both positively and negatively. It’s an undeniable principle of life. Interestingly, this doesn’t only apply to the human body in general, it also applies to the mind. The information you constantly allow to settle deep into your mind, will form deep convictions within you. These convictions will then determine the things you will give your life doing, and how far you will go in life.

Proverbs 23:7a tells us “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” In other words, if a man thinks he is eternally cursed and can never amount to anything good in life, the same becomes his reality.

If he habitually thinks, that God is against him, angry with him or working against him, his life will constantly produce bitterness. This is not because God is actually against him, but because his mind has fully accepted the negative happenings around him to be God’s ways of punishing or teaching him a lesson.

Of course, to solidify that fact, his mind will bring up 1000 things he has done wrong in the past and claim his current predicament is a result of either of those sins haunting him.

Unknowingly to him, there are so many people on this Earth who have done worse than he has and are still very successful. This is not because evil pays well or should be encouraged, but because those persons never allowed those negative things they have done in the past to occupy their mind.

Mind Renewal: A Key To Staying Ahead In Life

In Romans chapter 12, the Holy Spirit through the writings of the apostle Paul fills us in on how we can transform our lives and stay ahead in every aspect.

Rom 12:2 KJV And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

To help you understand clearly the point apostle Paul was making in that verse, let’s see it from another translation.

Rom 12:2 ISV Do not be conformed to this world, but continuously be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God’s will is—what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.

Reading from the two translations above, it is clear that the primary way to change our lives and everything about us is by the daily renewal of our minds.

Take a look at that verse up there one more time in the ISV. But this time, pay attention to the details there. Even the smallest ones.

Did you notice that the mind renewal talked about in that verse is not a passive activity? It’s not something you can leave to chance. It is a conscious, deliberate activity. Something you must put some effort into achieving.

In other words, responsibility is conferred upon the believer and man in general, to actively participate in determining the outcome of his life via a constant renewal of his mind. But what exactly do we mean when we talk about mind renewal?

To understand what it means, it is best we go back to the scriptures and let them explain to us what it is talking about.

The word “renewing” in Romans chapter 12 verse 3 actually came from the Greek word “anakainōsis” which actually means “renovate, change something for the better or make it look brand new.”

Paul also used it in Titus 3:5 to talk about the work of the Holy Spirit in making a brand new person out of a sin-ridden and hell-bent soul.

Tit 3:5 KJV Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

So in essence, Paul in Romans 12:3 is talking about changing your whole thought process for the better. In other words, discarding old and outdated information, beliefs, and systems consciously and unconsciously programmed into the mind.

Note that Paul used the present continuous term “renewing” to discuss this. That is to show you that the activity is not just something you engage in once and then it’s done. It is something you must do and continue to do every day of your life.

Every day you wake up, you must continue to fish out wrong beliefs, people’s opinions, superstitions, negative emotions and every other thing you have consciously or unconsciously fed your mind. You must commit to checking your daily diet – what you let into your mind.

Sights And Sounds Of The Spirit

The primary way the human mind is fed and built up is via sights and sounds. By sights and sounds here, I mean the things you hear and read.

What do you hear or read frequently and whose voice do you hear?

The sights and sounds that go into your mind frequently are very important. You must never treat them with levity.

That is why one of the most profound warnings of Jesus in the Bible is to take “heed” to “what” you hear and “how” you hear (Matthew 4:24 and Luke 8:18).

Paul, inspired by the Spirit of God, reiterated the same warnings in his own writings:

1Ti 4:15-16 KJV 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

He warns you to take heed (pay attention, be deliberate, intentional or careful) concerning what you hear or read. If they are not words of the Spirit, you trash them!

Some of the mental diets you must cease consuming are:

Religious Superstitions

Apostle Paul calls it vain words, profane and old wives fables, vain jangling, babblings, philosophies and traditions of men. Religious nonsense!

Col 2:8 KJV Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

1Ti 1:6 KJV From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling

1Ti 6:20 KJV O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.

A closer observation of the tone of the verses above will show you that Paul wasn’t playing around when issuing those instructions.

This is because the Apostle knows clearly that a mind preoccupied with superstitions or unfounded religious jargon, can never be productive.

You must shed your mind of every one of them if you must make progress in life.

Top of the list of these is the teaching that links a man’s financial predicament with the sins committed by his ancestors.

As long as you believe your suffering is a result of God punishing you for the sins of your father, grandfather or great grandfather, you will never take responsibility for your own life and make something good out of it.

You’ll always find someone somewhere to blame for your financial misery. Thereby rendering your mind unproductive and useless. Instead of sitting down, analyzing your problems and thinking up possible legitimate and godly solutions, you will end up running from pillar to post and spending the little resources you have on endless religious rituals.

Who told you the Wright brothers who invented the Airplane had a perfect father or grandfather?

Who told you Jeff Bezos's ancestors were all upright?

Who told you we can’t find in the lineage of Bill Gates or even Aliko Dangote men whose lifestyles were nothing to write home about?

Why couldn’t the sins of these men’s ancestors stop them from achieving greatness and ranking among the richest men that ever lived?

The answer is simple. While you are busy running from pillar to post looking for endless deliverances from sins and curses from your forefathers, these men are busy thinking up tangible solutions to problems and maximizing the full potentials of their minds.

Fear Inducing Words

Fear, like Faith, is one of the most powerful forces that operate in the realm of the mind and beyond.

The difference between them is that while Faith crushes a mountain down to a mole, Fear creates a mountain out of a mole.

Fear magnifies your battles and cripples your ability to contend for the victory. It makes your opponents appear twice their normal size and renders you very small and ill-equipped in your own eyes.

The story of the Biblical people of Israel below explains this clearly:

Num 13:30-33 KJV

And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Prior to this moment, the Israelites have seen God do great and mighty miracles and given them victories over their enemies. These include the overthrowing of Pharaoh and his great chariots of war.

They have watched water supernaturally come out from a rock and manna appear from the sky.

Such a nation with her leaders and God on their side would have been no match for any other. They would have torn anything that stands in their way to shreds.

Yet when the evil report from Canaan came, they allowed their minds to be so fed with it that fear and doubts set in their hearts. And a journey that would have taken them 40 days, extended into 40 years.

See the source for more.

Thank you and God bless you!

nencounter10:

Once saved forever saved is scriptural.

Jesus Christ is the Author of ETERNAL salvtion.

There three types of salvation mentioned in scripture.

1. The salvation of our spirit Romans10:9-10.
This occurs when you give your life to Christ . It involves the recreation of the human spirit.

2. Salvation of your soul
1 Peter1:9
This involves the renewal of our mind. It is a life long process.

3. Salvation of your body
Romans 8:23
This occurs at rapture.

When a person becomes born-again he becomes born of God. God fathered him. John 1:12.
No child of God can go to hell.

Once a person becomes born again, his spirit is recreated.
If anyman be in Christ he is a new creation(2 corinthians 5:17)

The word translated there is the Greek word kaino which means a new specie that never existed before and as such has no past.

A born again child of God is a new specie of human who has theife and nature of God.

Jesus said when the holy spirit comes to live in us, he will live in us forever.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

No body who has the holy spirit will end up in hell.

Bible say we are saved by grace without any recourse to works. Why the do people expect God to work-out our salbation

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

The Bible says we should work out or salvation, but quickly add that"It is God who works in us BOTH TO DO AND TO WILL HIS OWN GOOD PLEASURE.
Beautiful.

Religion / Is Once Saved, Always Saved Biblical? Prince Gabriel Okocha by unstoppable51(m): 4:11am On Aug 22, 2021
Here is a Bible Study by Prince Gabriel Okocha (FeedMeJesus.com)

Can a saved person become unsaved? Is once saved always saved biblical?

What does the Bible say about Once Saved, Forever Saved? Let's find out!

Salvation in Christ is the very central goal of the Bible. It is the end-goal of Faith, Grace, Mercy and several other subjects of the scriptures.

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." 2Ti 3:15 KJV

"Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you." 1Pe 1:9-10 KJV

The believer is instructed to properly study and understand it, and be diligent in teaching it.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2Ti 2:15 KJV

A proper understanding of the concept of Salvation as taught in the scriptures, will open up a well of unceasing joy in you. Your feet will be firm, not tossed about by every wind of doctrine. And like a tree planted by the riverside, you will grow and flourish in your walk with the Lord Jesus, bearing good fruits for Him.

So let's go back to answering the question we have at hand.

Is Once Saved, Always Saved Biblical?

The answer to this question largely depends on what you mean by "once saved, always saved"

This is because to some persons, the statement "once saved, always saved" is another way of saying "nothing you do as a Christian matters after salvation. The moment you are saved, you can go ahead and live as worldly as you want, you won't get punished for it. God doesn't and won't give a damn about that." This ideology is an error and certainly not what the "once saved, always saved" statement is all about.

In the real sense, "once saved, always saved" is a catchphrase that addresses the durability or eternal nature of the Salvation we received when we appropriated the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sin(s).

With this understanding of what the statement is truly about, let's then do justice to the question from the scriptures.

Is once saved, always saved really biblical?

In talking about the Salvation, Redemption or Eternal Life we have in Christ, the Bible repeatedly used the words "once", "everlasting", "forever", "eternal", "true" and "once and for all" to describe how it occurred and the longevity.

Pay close attention as you read through the Bible verses outlined below. Meditate on each of them briefly.

Joh 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 10:28-29 KJV 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Heb 5:9 KJV And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.

Heb 9:12 KJV Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Heb 9:15 KJV And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Heb 10:10-14 KJV 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

But can't a believer lose his Salvation and go to hell (perish) if he's not careful after he has been saved? You may ask.

In answer to that question, take a look at these verses one more time and meditate on them.

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10:28-29 KJV

The essence of Eternal Life is to keep the believer from perishing. Mind you, the believer is not the one keeping his Eternal Life from perishing. Eternal Life is actually what is keeping him from perishing. Whether he is careful how he lives his life on earth or not, that Eternal Life he has received continually keeps him from destruction.

However, a believer who foolishly lives in sin continually, will lose his rewards and will have nothing to show for his Salvation or Eternal Life in heaven.

Take note that I said he will lose his rewards in heaven, not his Salvation or Eternal Life. That is because the believer is committed with the responsibility of working for and keeping his heavenly rewards by living righteously on earth, not his Salvation or Eternal Life. That is God's part according to the scriptures.

Salvation (Eternal Life) is a gift he received on the basis of his Faith in the finished works of Christ, whereas heavenly rewards are dependent on his lifestyle while on earth here.

If he lives a godly lifestyle, a crown of glory awaits him in heaven. If he doesn't, he will not get anything reward from God in heaven though he is saved and shall spend eternity in heaven.

Eph 2:8-10 KJV 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

1Co 3:13-15 KJV 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

This is what the Bible teaches about Once Saved, Always Saved. It is purely biblical. Set aside any misconception you may have had about the catchphrase and see the eternal nature of Salvation as it has always been in the scriptures- open, simple and clear!

I hope this blesses you. Glory to God!

Religion / How Can I Trust A God Who Let His Own Son Die To Save Other Persons? by unstoppable51(m): 8:25am On Sep 27, 2020
I recently came across a question by someone who is finding it difficult trusting God.

He asked, "how can I trust someone (God) who let His own Son die so He could save some other persons? How am I sure He won't let me die someday to save others if I become His son today?"

If this question and similar others has been a major challenge to you, I encourage you to try as much as you can to read this to the end and also pay a close attention while you are on it.

Let's go on with the answer...

The ideology that God sent His Son and watched Him die without doing anything, so He could save some other unrelated persons, is an ideology that needs proper explanation. Else, we will end up misrepresenting God like He has been all over the world today and pushing humanity farther from Him.

To fully understand why the Son of God had to die, it is very vital you first understand the term "Son of God" so you won't be having a different concept of the term whereas the Bible talked about it in another.

When the Bible spoke of Jesus as the Son of God, it is not like the way we use the term when talking about male children and their fathers or parents today.

In the world that we live in, a Child is called the son of another when he is biologically fathered by that person. By biological here, I mean the male sex gamate of a man has to unite with that of a woman to cause that to happen.

Another way that occurs in our world today is by adoption.

However, when the scriptures spoke of Jesus as the Son of God, the scriptures aren't talking about two different persons- father and son. No! Jesus did not become the Son of God as a result of God's sperm cell fusing with that of another being. That's not the way it happened. God is not a man, does not have the make up of a man, and therefore couldn't have fathered a son in the way that men do.

When the Bible spoke of the Son of God, it is talking about the aspect or part of God that took on flesh as a man and manifested among men so He could do for them what they couldn't do for themselves- salvation from sin and the dominion of Satan!

Here's how the Bible puts it...

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." (1 Timothy 3:16)

In another place, it explains it like this...

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...

...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:1, 14)

Did you notice how the Bible called him the begotten of the Father after he was made flesh? Or after he took on flesh?

That is to show you that that term is merely what humans called God after He appeared as man to live among them.

So my point is, that Son of God who died for man is not a different entity from God the Father. He is rather the same God whom we call the Father lowering himself to the point of being a man (the one we call the Son), out of love, to die in man's place.

Through His death, He ended the power of sin and Hell once and for all. That is forever!

No other person has to die again to redeem man from sin. That's because the death of the God-Man took care of it completely forever!

"For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified...

...Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin." (Hebrews 10:14, 18)

So the question is, would not rather trust a God who became a man for your sake to save you from sin and it's penalties which you can never on your own save yourself from?

Would you not rather trust a God who loved you so much to the point of identifying Himself with your nature and instead of being called God, men called Him the Son of God, a title He gladly took for your sake in line with His mission of saving you from sin and destruction?

Would you not rather trust a God who died for you to live, paid for your sins so His own righteousness would be given to you as a gift once you believe in Him?

You won't have to work for that righteousness, forgiveness of sins and all of His blessings. Not even for a second.

Would you not rather trust such a God?

I'll leave the answer to you. But I pray you make the wise choice of believing in Him as your Lord and Saviour. That's all it takes. That's all He had ever wanted from you. Every other thing is secondary.

I hope this blesses you. Let me know if it does.

Glory to our God who is the Father, the Son and the Spirit altogether!

Religion / Re: The Truth About The Judgement Day You Should Know As A Christian by unstoppable51(m): 9:39am On Apr 20, 2020
solreb:

A believer that does not live uprightly is a SINNER and no SINNER will make heaven. So that believer gets the same treatment as unbeliever. They both end up in hell. The scripture you quoted above in 1 Cor 3:13-15 is meant for a righteous believer and not a sinful one. It is the righteous believer that will face the judgement seat of Christ and be rewarded according to his or her work. The doctrine of "once saved is for forever saved" is dangerous and will lead many to hell. So you can't use an analogy of servant and son. A son can lose his sonship if he decides to live unrighteously. No one gets to heaven because he believes in Christ (Satan also believes in Christ) but you must also do the will of the Father. God cannot behold sin. Satan lost his position because iniquity was found in him. God has not changed that standard today.

Also I never used falsehood or threats. I quoted verses of the bible that support what Peter says in 2 Peter about believers that depart from the path of righteousness. It is not my place to issue threats. I can only point you to what the bible say.

My closing question to you as I see you continually differentiating a Sinning or sinful believer from an unbeliever. Where would a sinful believer go after death and judgement Heaven or Hell?

Did you just say in your first paragraph that 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 is addressed to believers who are living uprightly and not those who sin?

So the Bible is saying in those verses that the Believer who lived uprightly shall suffer a loss of reward, according to you?

Was that a typographical error bro?

If you cannot even be as honest as saying exactly what the scriptures say, but keep insisting on your own, how do we reason the scriptures together then. Seeing that you do not even believe it.

And you calling a sinning believer a SINNER is a clear proof you have not even studied clearly who a believer is and who a sinner is. You still mix the two based on their actions.

Before I end this convo, let me give you a little tip. The Corinthian Christians were doing all sorts of abominable things after they were born again. I mean things that Christians should never do. And Paul had to write 1 and 2 Corinthians to correct them.

But do you know the shocking thing? While addressing these sinning believers who had just done all sorts of abominable things, Paul began by calling them "them that are Sanctified in Christ Jesus" and "Saints" (1 Corinthians 1:2).

Ordinarily, one would expect the apostle Paul to start addressing these Christians as "sinners" because they had fallen into sin. But instead, he still addressed them by their eternal righteous nature and terms in Christ. Do you know why?

Because there is a CLEAR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BELIEVER and the unbeliever who sins. They have never been the same in the scriptures. They are not today and will never be tomorrow.

You can decide to stick to what you believe as against the scriptures and even call yourself a man of integrity. But believe me brother, true Biblical integrity is actually melleability in God's hand. Allowing God's Word to confront your religious beliefs and dogmas, straighten and sharpen the ones that badly needs it.

God bless and keep you, and cause the Light of His Word to shine brightly on your paths. I'll stop here for now. The intent of the post was never to start arguments. It was rather to bless lives. And I seriously hope it has achieved that purpose.

Thank you!

Your write-up is confusing and so misleading. Yes, anyone who wants to make heaven must believe in Christ and do his will (John 6:33, Matt 7:21-23) which is to live a righteous life. So if after declaring his belief and goes back to sin, his case is even worse (2 Pet 2:20-21) unlike unbelievers. Anyway both will not make heaven as no sinner will make heaven (Rev 21:cool. Your PARA 1 (and other related PARA) is totally wrong. The believer will be punished like unbeliever he will end up in the lake of fire.

Your 2nd PARA (and other relate PARA) is for the righteous who made heaven but rewards are now given or lost depending on how one has used his or her life for the Lord (eg soul winning, expected good works based on his talents for the kingdom). This is at the Judgement Seat of Christ (1 Cor 3:13-15).

The believer in Jesus and the unbeliever can NEVER be punished alike. Nowhere in the scriptures does the Bible teach that.

I understand your fight against the so called believers living like the unbelievers. We're all on the same page on that. That's why we're calling all believers everywhere to "awake to righteousness and sin not"

But don't get unnecessarily emotional and start using falsehood and threats to spur them to act righteously.

The sinning believers will be punished quite OK. But do not equate them with unbelievers. They are never on the same level in the sight of God and will never receive the same type of punishment.

The scriptures teach that the believer who didn't live uprightly shall suffer loss of his rewards but his soul is still saved.

However, the unbeliever is eternally doomed regardless of how good his actions are. Why? Because he did not believe that God has sent His Son into the world to die for his sins. This is just the plain truth of the scriptures.

Comparing the believer and the unbeliever when they sin, is like comparing a son of the house and a hired servant. They are not the same bro.

The son of the house can get punished severely and still have a right to his father's name. Even if he loses his freedom of movement or a part of his inheritance, he is still his father's son. But the hired servant gets thrown out of the house the moment he breaches the terms of the contract, with absolutely nothing to his name!

Now think of that carefully sir. I pray the Lord grants you the understanding.

I perceive you are teaching that Righteousness and Holiness are not essential to enter heaven. Do you realise that you can miss heaven because of this. Because you misled people/believers to believe they can enter heaven as fornicators, adulterers, liars, lovers of the world, unforgivers etc. Consequently, The Lord Jesus will not be happy with you. You better fear his words.

Matthew 7:21 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord ,... in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Thank God you said "I perceive." Now keep your perception aside brother and read the post with an open mind. Nowhere in the post did author say the things you are perceiving.
If possible, finish the post sir. Do not just read a few paragraphs and arrive at a conclusion.

So when is judgement?
Those who died are still waiting for judgment since immemorial or what?
Read the post and the reply again brother. There's a day set for the judgement of the entire world by God. No man knows exactly what the day it shall be but we know it is coming, as God has said it.

Mind you, this is different from the Believers judgement which is actually a time for the determination of each person's eternal rewards at the judgement seat of Christ.

The first is for the entire world, the second is strictly for believers and it will happen after we've all gone to Heaven.

I hope this helps sir!

Wow! I love you for this!

That is because as Jesus IS, so are WE in this present world.

The question now is, how is Jesus presently?
Well Jesus is RIGHTEOUS, HOLY and WELL-PLEASING (acceptable) to the father.

That simply means as believers, we are RIGHTEOUS, HOLY and ACCEPTABLE or WELL-PLEASING to the Father also.

I was trying to explain this to a friend yesterday that, as genuine bornagain Xians, it is not what we do or don't do that qualifies us for heaven or pleases God as no man could/can please God except CHRIST. which is what God looks at or uses to count us worthy to make it to heaven as long as we have accepted Christ as our lord and saviour.

Bro. Makuos19. wink

The sacrifice of Jesus is our qualification for heaven. If we need anything more than that, then he wasted his life on the cross.

But thanks to God, his sacrifice was never in vain. It gave man express entry into heaven on the basis of Faith!
