I did gifship with my family, it has expired now and we are no longer interested in NHIS except for just one person.

How do we renew just his own?
2) He wants to go for a rehabilitation program in his new HCP( when he renews).

Renewal is when there is no change in the previous registration. So now he is going to register a fresh one as 2people are no longer interested, remember whether it's just him or with one or 2 other people, price remains #45000. If he wishes to do the renewal anyway it means the other 2 peoples registration will be done along with his. Renewal takes at least a month while registering afresh is at least 90days
Yes GIFSHIP covers medical/rehabilitation.

Thank you for your swift response, I have already done the registeration. So as a pregnant corp member I want to know if it covers for my delivery fee or there are exceptions.

Once your name is out on the NHIS register you can start anti natel in your hospital of choice and also delivery will be covered BUT no surgery including CS till after 6months that your name comes out on the register

You can only do the renewal if
1. You were registered for GIFSHIP before
2. All members that registered are still registering again (no additional or removal of anyone previously registered with you)
3. All information remains the same as the previous information given (no change of hospital, HMO, names, date of birth etc)

Different people have reached out to me for registeration and enquiries for the different programs NHIS does but am still yet to hear from kingseun. As I said before WhatsApp me let me understand your claims of not being able to register.

GIFSHIP is an annual renewable program, this means that after first registration, renewal should be done every year.

All your details will remain the same for this one year so think wisely before pening down things especially like name, age and the hospital you choose to use.

* consider your location and the service you require from a facility before choosing your HCP. Your residence should not be abeokuta, ogun state and you are choosing a hospital somewhere in the island of Lagos state. Some people actually plan to move before the registration waiting period is over and decide to still choose HCPs closer to where they want to move away from. Some people don't make proper checks on the HCP they choose and later tell you they didn't no the hospital was far or some other reason which they would have investigated before choosing the HCP.

* If you are using a certain name in a hospital then during your registeration with NHIS register with the same name and if you are already registered with NHIS then use the same name to register in your hospital of choice.

* Date of birth and sex should also be the same with your registeration in your HCP of choice.


* After filling your registeration form, go through the form once or twice again to be sure you put in the right details for everyone.

* Using clear capital letters to write your details down, this will help your details to be clear for the operator that will register you.

I was in your Abuja office n they said the portal is down .how is that a wrong information I've tried severally to register waking as early as 6 am so I can get to nhis office early n pick a number .but its either the network is down or portal is down .so how is that wrong information ?? It's a scheme for federal government workers cos your system frustrates private individuals simple .

We are in Nigeria and we all no network or portal(which also works with network) can be down, this also happens in the bank where you save money and any business that works with internet so why take it personal with NHIS?

Is the portal up n running yet ?? I tried registering after bin to Nhis office so many times it's either the server is down or portal is closed .Nhis only favours federal government workers .if you know what is good for you don't waste your time as an individual under any guise. they'll frustrate you with poor services .

First of all, only NHIS staff with code as an operator can register people.

Secondly, we have been registering people for over a year without closure in the portal

Thirdly, we have programmes for every individual whether Federal government workers, students, teachers, traders, business men & women, Private job employers and employees, articians, communities etc

stop passing wrong information about what you don't know, instead try ask questions so you can get knowledge.

GIFSHIP is Group Individual Family Social Health Insurance Program

INDIVIDUAL #45000 annually,
That individual can decide to register alone or add 1 or 2 people under him/her making a total maximum of 3persons.

FAMILY covers 4-9persons at the rate of 15000 per person. Eg #15000 x number of people that wants to be registered

GROUP covers 10 and above people at the rate of #15000 x number of people that want to register.

You have the right to make your own choice of hospital as long as it is on our accredited list of hospitals Nationwide.

First of all I need to no which of the NHIS programmes you registered for.
If it's through federal government job(formal sector) then you do a Change of name first in your office, bring the confirmation of change of name from your office along with newspaper change of name and marriage certificate, then you write letter which all will be attached in any of our office closest to you.

If you registered as an individual which is an annual program (GIFSHIP), then you can correct your name in the hospital to fit what you have in NHIS.

If you registered as a corper your name should be out so visit the NHIS office closest to you for confirmation.

HMOs (Health Maintenance Organization) are private companies that operate for profit.
NHIS is a Federal Government regulatory body for HMO and also have different cover programmes for Health Insurance for different persons and groups in every state in Nigeria.

Once your company has made the decision to register it's staff understand NHIS, each staff data will be collected along with their passport photograph and the healthcare Facility they will prefer to use. Registration will be done in NHIS office and an RRR code give which the company has to make payment for at any bank.

Registration is annually, for a staff of 40 premium while be 40×15000.

I registered in August last year and my Edd is late Feb 2022. Is that early enough for them to cover it? Sorry for my many questions

Surgery can only be done 6month after your name is out in the register. But other medical needs will be met before then

Good morning upmanager, I added a dependant earlier this month and am yet to receive remita code for the payment. Would want to ask, those it start counting after the remita payment has been made or it has started already since have done the registration.

Hope you have gotten the remitta now, if not you need to go back to the NHIS office with the information and passport photo you took earlier to confirm the remitta code so you can make payment. Only payment validates your registration

Please visit the NHIS office nearest to you for registration with passport photograph of interested person's, you should also no the full names, date of birth, HCP of choice, state and local govt of origin and residence

Please I am under NHIS #15000 , it has expired and I have not renew it due to lack of fund. Please will it still be active, if I renew it with #15000 next year

The program you will do now is GIFSHIP (individual) which is #45000, will cover you with the same benefits and you can add 1 or 2 people
