ddippset I'm with you on this one!

But let's look at this from another angle

I think Barcelona do not have an on-field leader presently.
Messi might be the best ever player to have graced the game but he seems to lack in the areas of leadership, orchestration, influence.

Some of these occasional switching offs and sudden collapse the team has suffered in the last 3 yrs, could be attributed to the ineffectual captain, Barcelona has had to endure just because it is Messi.

He's of course the most senior player in the team, but he does not possess what it takes to keep everyone focused during the 90 minutes. He prefers to lead via his mesmeric plays but this has proven to not be enough sometimes. Everyone has to be switched on for the 90 minutes but Messi does not seem to care. I haven't seen him yelling at any player or helping to keep the crowd vibrating by gesturing.

It is easy to keep pointing finger at EV but this continues to happen.

I fear that as long as Messi continues to hold the captain armband, we might continue to witness these sort of switching offs unless someone else rises up to do what our captain should be doing.
Commmmon this one no follow..

If it is about having an hyper active captain, Morgan and Gerrard should be leading their teams to every trophy year in year out.

See, no amount of Motivation and SHOUTING can overturn mediocrity in football. If you are not good, you are not good.

We have problems in all departments of the pitch, from defence to Midfield to attack . Their is still this physiological problem of holding on to the lead. If we solve all these visible problems, you will see that "the lack of outspokenness by the captain" will have little impact.

We don't need to be too emotional in challenging times like this. we don't need to hang the dog to call it a bad name. Iniesta wasn't outspoken, yet we won our last UCL with him as the captain.

Whenever Barcelona wins, we praise Messi.
Whenever Barcelona loses, we blame Valverde.
Why? LMAO
This is just some ordinary logic of football fans. until you watch barca play, you will know that the fans are not being emotional, Individual players make differences in matches. Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Hazard all have this ability of winning a match on there own.

The wins we were able to conjure together was largely because of Messi's individual brilliance, sometimes it is Suarez. Sometimes the coach put up some stupid tactics but got bailed at the end by Messi. As a barca fan, I've lost count how many times Messi's free kicks rescued a win or draw for us, what about his many late goals.

And Should we blame Messi for all our loses just because our rival fans think we don't Messi but Valvarde even when it is not Messi's fault?

I know you don't watch barca matches often, but sincerely do you think Barcelona would have won Chelsea that day without Messi or Barca would have won against Man U last season or Liverpool's first leg without Messi.

The Spanish super cup was suppose to be played between Barcelona and Valencia. I don't know where Madrid and Athletico came from.
It has been rebranded.

It is now a four-team mini competition between the League Champions, the second best, the Copa del rey winner and its runner up.

Nothing to panic about, if not for our epileptic form we would have been the favourite. But with Messi is still alive, impossible is nothing.

We've read how many of you claimed that he was the greatest coach of all time, just because of his achievements at Barca. He won sextuple, won 2 Ucls in 3 years and all that. Now 8yrs after leaving Barca, where is his 1ucl final appearance? Not even asking him to win it.

All his eye-catching achievements at Barca have Messi's watermarks. He deceived people to get tagged 'best coach ever', when he is not. He is Fraudiola, that's why majority of Barca fans preferred to have Klopp in their team, not him.
Going by your flimsy parameter, Mourinho also failed with the likes of Ronaldo, Kaka, Di, Maria, Ozil, Ramos, Casillas and Marcelo in Madrid.

Was he also a fraud?

Well, you own your opinion and I own mine as well.
but your opinion might not be the fact.

Messi complements Guardiola and Guardiola complements Messi, the relationship is symbiotic and not parasitic, I'm a barca fan, I know better.

Your last statement was ridiculous and funny at the same time. So, a mini poll organized by the Spanish version of Alaroye newspaper for some set of Barca fans now represent the opinion of the "Majority". So many barca fans worldwide, Barcelona have more than 100 million fans on Facebook alone. So, you have to rely on the opinions of the minority somewhere just to call the dog a bad name. A new low for you. Anything for the banter Sha.

Well, I interact with Barca fans everyday and I can tell you we need Guardiola more than a Chelsea fan will need his Chelsea dry gin to survive or more than an Asthmatic patient needs his Inhaler.

Moreover, even if those set of fans picked Klopp over Guardiola it is understandable, simply because he has said it time without number in the past that he won't return to Barca in the future. Hence, you don't expect the fans to waste their votes on a nearly unrealistic choice.

I'm not here to argue about the better coach but all these Pep slayers are the either economical with the truth or just being hypocritical?
All the parameters of judging coaches are relative. No matter how talented you are as a coach you must have some sheer part of luck. I always feel sad whenever a team plays badly and the coach is shown the exit door. Well, that is the nature of football today.

Talking about Pep, Klopp, Mourinho. They are all good coaches. saying one of them is a fraud because his team is failing despite spending huge amounts money on transfers is a rubbish Idea.

Mou and Pep have failed in the past despite spending a lot.

Klopp has failed when having good players.

They've all succeeded when they were underdogs and won trophies against all odds.

We should hug the reality now that football is now money and money is now football.

After years of failure, even Klopp knows he can't succeed without money, it is until he spent huge money of the transfers of Alisson, Van dijk (most notably) Salah, Keita that the results start coming.

As for Mourinho, no be him nearly drove Chelsea to relegation or no be him nearly knocked down United in his recent job. look at him now, Tottenham is his new abode.

Pep is a very good coach and has done well in England, albeit backed by the Country's best Venture funding.

The problem na say when City dominate it's all down to Pep and his over 200 IQ, but when they fail it's down to the players, injuries, VAR, the English FA, UEFA, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, the pitch, global warming, the fans etc.

Make it make sense. Please make it make sense.
You are partially right.

Pep is a good coach but I as a person does not like overrating people above their normal level. that's why I will never compare Pep to the great Sir Alex Ferguson?

But you need to tackle the other side of the debate too, that is, chanting pep is a fraud up and down as if it will solve the myriad of challenges of their own club. Yes, Pep is Overrated? but is he a fraud at the same? or is the word fraud is being abused here? or many of his critics don't even know the meaning of fraud.

Nice video.

The "Uefalona campaign" is enveloped and embroiled with more emotional attacks rather than logical reasoning.

Looking back at the saga, over two legs, one could see that the matches were entangled and overshadowed by ridiculous refereeing blunders.

The Henry penalty call
The drogba penalty call
The Eto handball
Abidal's wrong dismissal etc

but Chelsea have craftily and cunningly focused more on the blunder's against , which is a very bias judgment from an objective point of view.

Until the lion comes out to tell its own story, the tale will always glorify the hunter.

Anyways, no matter their gnashing of teeth or wailing, it doesn't reduce anything from the club's greatness, rather it added one more UCL to our already large trophy cabinet.

I'm no Valverde supporter.

But it will be myopic of us to believe that the Alpha and Omega of problem is Valverde. if the coach is sacked, our problems won't cease automatically.

Problems in all department, from defence to midfield to attack. Our problems are bulky. The squad is also ageing with time. We need adequate reinforcements. We've just been spending big on nothing over the years.

See Cules, you have to understand that whatever you do rivals gonna have something to say.

After winning the Copa for four consecutive years ,a competition that Real Madrid took part every year, they were saying that it was just a local cup, Messi is just channeling all his energies on a local cup bla bla bla, Now we lost a final in five years they still come again with nonsense talks.

Must we win every trophy?

Merely playing in a final alone shows that you have worked your socks off a huge task. For me, the energy and work you devote to all matches enroute the final is cumbersome than the final itself.

Most often than not, finals are decided by small detail, sometimes your hardwork, training and determination can be undone in the first minute of a final if for example, your best defender scored an unfortunate own goal in the first minute and boom!!! your opponent defend with all their lives till the end.

Their are a lot of life lessons in football, you can't just win every time, the recipe to attain success in football and in life, is to taste the bitter experience of failure. More failure , more success.

Real Madrid have lost more UCL finals than most other teams because they have won it more than anyone.

Barca have lost more CDL finals because they have won it more.

You cannot ALWAYS have it your way in life.

All the same, life goes on and their is always a tomorrow which could be betterand beautiful than yesterday ever was.All that matters is to be hopeful, prayerful and optimistic.

Please, don't give this trolls the attention they don't deserve.

Pep shows all the signs of a man who is not comfortable in his current position. Expect him to depart Manchester within 6 months. The difference with Man City is that at Barca there was always Messi and apart from 2/3 competitors like Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid the majority of games were simply goal romps. The brutal truth is that Pep is human and is seriously struggling at City relying on poor performers like Stones and Sterling and his excuse peddling is the classic sign of his imminent departure.

Yeah, he's not used to failing but he doesn't know how to stand back on his feet when he fails..He should emulate Mourinho..who had a season to forget at Chelsea last year but still came back and took a very tough job at Manure to redeem himself.

All pep does is run at the slightest competition that rear its head.

At barka, he had it easier with the best players in the world. But as soon mou came and rejuvenated a dieing Madrid, Pep ran away under the pretext of taking a sabbatical.

Now at City, he's sitting on the hottest seat of his career and is already talking about retirement few months into his premier league job. Lmao!!! This man no get heart. If a coach is not a fighter, how can he ginger his team?

Imagine scoring the same amount of club goals with a player some acclaimed is a better goalscorer than Messi. Messi has the same numbers of goals with Ronaldo with around 129 matches difference, that's like over 3 seasons of a football league season. There are level to this sha. sad
