One funny fact in Nigeria is that unemployment is higher among the educated than among the uneducated. As a matter of fact, very few uneducated people are actually unemployed. Is the government to be blamed or our education system? |

AdeniyiA: You're very correct, no meaningful productivity/innovation can emanate from a hungry man. A full/filled belly is a full brain. This only can be used to assess a visionary government, the state of your citizens economically. Unfortunately we do not have a government in Nigeria but set of power-seeking, visionless, Clueless, inept , self entered and corrupt politicians who only care for themselves and their family alone.
Until all Nigerians stand up to these set of rulers and say enough is enough, no matter how laudible their policies seem to be, they'd end up making Nigerians poorer. We need to take back our country! I like your last line, no matter how laudable their policies seem it can't take Nigerians out of poverty. It's been 5 years now and Nigerians are poorer than before. African government policies only enriches the rich and further plunges the poor into more poverty. |

My father even on his sick bed kept reassuring me that he would pay my final year school fees and give me money for my project immediately he is discharged, sadly he was never discharged. I feel bad because I had payed my school fees and also gotten money for my project but I refused to tell him because i thought he was going to recover and give me the money. If I had known he won't make it I'll have told him that I've paid everything at least to give him peace of mind. |

If left to buhari everybody should plant what he or she would eat. Anyway to drift a bit, this is 2020 every country is moving forward we are still bothered about eating to survive. In as much as food is the most important thing to life, there is no way we can upgrade from an impoverished nation to an underdeveloped nation if all we are trying to solve is the problem of starvation. |

HigherEd: Well CU isn't in UK and doesn't strive to behave like a UK university. It has her own community culture and ideology which should not be subjected to thoughts and norms of westernisation. Despite her conservative nature and age, it's doing great in the comity of reputable varsities as attested by the British ranking organization (THE2019), where it clearly surpassed a number of UK varsities.
The idea that a Nigerian university located in Ota must conform to the culture of a British university for legitimacy reeks of intellectual colonialism. The Qatari man, Ahmed expects his workers to wear jalamia to work is no less than Sir Cornwell who expects his to suit and tie up.
Those that want British themed education should add more money and head for MMIA. London is only six hours away. over 200 people agree with you but I don't. If you think allowing people to dress the way they feel comfortable in is colonialism, then what is forcing them to wear suits, tie and a pair of European trousers? I'm not saying the Europeans have to be our standard, rather common sense should be. In an academic project, what should matter is academics no more no less. The colonial mentality is more on you if you think one has to appear a certain way(eurocentric appearance) before he is seen as decent. By the way covenant university is nowhere in terms of invention. They only publish a lot of paperwork and have a pseudo nice looking environment. |

Honestly we are actually living in a totalitarian regime. These police men together with every other armed forces in Nigeria have been given an executive federal order by the presidency to stop any form of protest whatsoever so that it doesn't go into a large scale protest, they have also received incentives. Who else have received incentives by the government not to protest? The Nigerian labour Congress and some other groups. If you think your life matters to this government, you are an idiot and should never be taken seriously by anyone. It's too late people, nothing can be done anymore. As far as the ratio of the rich to the poor is kept at a certain constant level, there won't be any unrest. |

This is arrant nonsense and only zombies will applaud this. Firstly, we don't have a database of anything in Nigeria. Secondly you mean out of up to about 100 million working citizens, the government has a favourite 300 thousand that should benefit from bailout funds. We all know this is a looting strategy. Where is the money they said they would send through our BVNs? They promised private school teachers money, we are yet to receive one naira. This people just talk and talk and talk again.
