For those who are saying that the new CBN extension would afford politicians enough time to change their stashed old notes to the new notes, let me tell you that you are making a mistake.

Suppose a politician has ₦1BN old notes he intended to use to buy votes. If he takes them to the bank to exchange for the new notes, he would be told there's not enough cash, and that could only credit it to his account while he can withdraw less than ₦1m in cash or come back or go to the ATM point to withdraw ₦20,000 everyday. That's why CBN intentionally printed limited notes and no bank would be that foolish to give all their stock of the notes to any big man or politician.

That's the whole essence of cashless policy in the first place.

So you can see that it's still completely impossible for vote buying by cash to take place.

Even if the deadline is 20th February, no politician will be able to change his cash because it's impossible. Emefiele is just using their head.
After all, he will say he has heard people's cry and extended the deadline.

Until the banks stop paying out old notes, the deadline for the use of the old notes will be extended again and again.

Back in 2014, we had a centenary/celebratory NGN100 note. It circulated for a while and then disappeared. Nobody was coerced to return the money to the bank with a deadline.

Also, the N10, N20 and N50 were once paper notes. And then they were phased out and replaced with their polymer versions. Again, there was no deadline.

The banks control these things. Let the banks keep receiving old naira notes and consistently pay out new ones and watch as the old notes disappear automatically.

I think the CBN is intentionally trying to make Naira scarce by rendering the old notes unusable and making the new notes unavailable. The politicians have since found their way. It's the masses that are bearing the brunt.

If you like don't go and change your old note.

The problem is that you guys have short memory. From beginning, CBN spelt it out that 70% of the transactions in the country will be electronic that is the reason they will be printing less cash.

Go and deposit your cash. Then go cashless or stick with the little cash made available to you and stop crying.

My fiancee told my younger brother that she will send him out of my house if we get married. She was joking, but it didn't sound like a joke to me.

Let me tell you how this started. My younger brother told my fiancee jokingly, that he will be sending her on errand anyhow, when she marries me. Although he went too far for saying he will be sending her on errand anyhow. But he has every right to send her on errand because he senior her. She then replied that if my brother do anyhow, when we get married she will ask me to send him away from my house. At this point I stop seeing the whole discussion as joke. I asked her to repeat what she said, she repeated it again (take note: she was saying everything jokingly)

I told her right away that if my brother comes visiting when we get married, she will not send him away. She said she will use her woman power to make me send him away.

She went further to ask me, that if they ask me now to choose between her and my brother who would I choose. I told her I would choose my brother (she could see the seriousness in me).

And I really meant it, any girl that will separate me and my brother will have to use jazz .

This my younger brother established the business that I am doing today. Has done countless number of things for me.

We don't joke with each other, and she knows that.

I have to create this thread after reading through the topic on front page asking for jobs/professions that will make you not to marry someone.

So, I'm talking to this Unizik student that's studying medical radiography. Everything was going well. She even told me that she has told her mother about me and all. We met on Facebook and she's already asking to see me in person.

Until the day she found out that I use my car for Uber/Bolt business, everything changed. This girl stopped talking to me.

She has never been to Lagos and does not know how Uber works. She was asking how much I earn in a day, and that hope the Uber is not like their normal school cab that charge 100 naira per person, bla bla bla.

Well, I just don't want to let her know my net worth. I don't do Uber full time. I work on Fiverr and because sales dropped there, I decided to use Uber to make up for the income. I also do academic research for foreign students. Etc. I am into a lot of stuffs that fetch me nothing less than 400k a month so I don't think I should be regarded poor.

My house in the East is at roofing level. I am almost completing the payment of 4.5 million for a land I'm purchasing at Mowe, I own my car plus another Sienna I bought when Fiverr was booming.

I have a masters degree. So, should a girl reject me because I use my car to drive on Uber?
