Well if you checked the site you will see that the message as been there for over 2 weeks now,text messages were sent to subscribers on what to do and also the message was scrolled on the screen for almost 2 weeks.So if anyone tells you we didn't tell or inform them,that is not true.

The main purpose of the channel rearrangement has been 80% met (e.g;subtitling,teletext,clean picture quality,better audio,etc).

HiTV over the past 2 weeks as used and is using any forum or means to reachout to it's many subscribers e.g facebook,nairaland,etc.

Please what do you think of the improved pix quality of the Hi Channels (Hi sports,Hi Soccer,Hi Nolly,Nigezie,Hi Mix)?.Also what are your views on the new channel just added (ANIMAX)?.

I will advice you visit the HiTV dealer near you to carry out the re-scan.Visit www.hitv.com.ng/dealers for a full list of dealers in your area.

check the HiTV site also for a dealer near you to solve the issues with your dish.A well installed dish should give you a signal quality not lower than 72%.

Please if you don't know how to scan your decorder please go to your dealer or any HiTV dealer close to you.You don't need to go to Ebute metta to get your decorder scanned.

Animax as now been added.The channels were arranged according to their groupings(news,sports,movies,music,general entertainment,documentry,religious,etc).Please scan the 11900 H27500 frequency first before the 12130 H27500 frequency.

sorry for the lost of audio in part of the troy movie,but was made to know that the movie was re-runed.Also Hi mix will air top movies every day at 9pm,while highly rated movies will be aired every sunday also at 9pm.

Yes HiTV is looking at many movie and top rated channels as i write you.Talks are on-going and once a deal as been reached will let you be the first to know.Also watchout animax and a top foreign channel maybe added next week.

It is very clear that you are working on hear say and quotes.let me inform you that not all HiTV channel have bad pix quality,if you were in Nigeria you should have heard that HiTV is about is improve on the pix quality of those affected channels.

The N1,900 bouquet have been in the works even before HiTV got MQ and Daarsat launched,and on Daarsat getting football rights and cnn well let's wait and see .Remember same was said about the champions league,but at the end who won it?.

If daarsat like's they should sell at N1,000 Naira once you do not have what people want,they be ready to close down.HiTV recently got extra space to add more channels,with time HiTV will announce the names of those foreign channels.

You are in lagos so you may not need TVC,but HiTV has other subscribers outside lagos that need to be informed on what is going on in the country.Let me inform you that more foreign contents and channels shall be added in the coming days and weeks,they are in the stages of technical,payments and final discussions.

Please be informed that TV continental (tvc) as been added on the HiTV platform .Animax will be added before the end of march and other channels too to be announced soon.

There is no news yet that anyone as gotten the La Liga,and let's remember that the same thing was said about the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE but at the end who won it?.

Let me make it known one more time that HiTV is correctly working on adding more and more channels,over the next coming days and weeks you shall being to announce the name's of those channels.

Dear Subscribers,

I’d like to inform you that we are planning to implement an exercise that is designed to improve the quality of signals on the platform over the next 3 weeks. This will lead to the rearrangement of  the channels on HiTV.

Customers will be required to rescan their decoders in order to get all the channels. For customers with Strong decoders they will require manual scan, however the hitv branded decoders running on ver. 2.0.7 will automatically scan as soon as they are powered on but those running on older version will have to upgrade to ver. 2.0.7 OR manually scan.

This exercise will happen within the next 3 weeks.  Please be prepared and inform as many other subscribers as you can.

Dear Subscribers,
This is to inform you that we are planning to re-arrange the order of channels on HiTV.This will require that all subscribers re-scan their decorders to get all the channels.

For those with Strong decorders they will require manual scan.HiTV decorders with version 2.0.7 will auto scan but those with older version will have to do manual scan or upgrade to version 2.0.7.

This excercise will happen next week.

At Two, The Beat Goes On At HiTV

Toyin SubairAs the industry joins in celebrating with cable satellite programmes distribution outfit, HiTV to marks its 2nd year anniversary of a successful operation in Nigeria, this month, its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Toyin Subair puts certain records straight, especially the perception of HiTV as a mainly sports content provider. He told TOPE OLUKOLE that HiTV offers much more than sports. Excerpts.

WHEN is the Anniversary Dinner coming up, and what is the idea behind it?
IT is planned to take place at the end of the month and it’s a way of us saying thank you to our dealers and to our media friends. You know our dealers are an integral part of our business; they help to take HiTV to different parts of the country. They are our partners to do this, as we do not intend to address this part of the business ourselves. We believe in division of labour and segment professionalism. Some of them have been in this business for years and have not been appreciated as they should, that is why we are doing it.

HiTv is perceived as mainly into football. What are the other programmes with high entertainment value that HiTv can boast of? That’s a misconception we are currently addressing and we already have advert materials in the press and on radio that are out to change this perception.

The truth is we are the very best in terms of football content. You know we are the major broadcast right owner for EPL, Laliga, SerieA and we have also won the UEFA Champion League which we will start showing live from August this year, which also means that it is only on HiTv that viewers can watch PL, Carling Cup, Serie A and Champions League from next season.

However, there is so much more on our platform which the public is not aware of because of our strength in football content. We really do have something for every Nigerian. We currently have 25 channels, and out of those, only 5 channels speak to the sport genre. We have 3 channels dedicated to kids, 4 dedicated to news, 1 documentary channel, 3 religious channels, 3 movie channels, 3 music channels, 2 lifestyle channels and we even have 1 channel dedicated to the Yoruba audience - Amuludun. (State channels) This month we are celebrating these other channels so that Nigerians know what they stand to enjoy when they come on the HiTV platform.

What is there to celebrate at two?
A whole lot, that we are all alive and well and that the business is going strong is so much to be thankful for and we are indeed grateful to God. We are also expanding rapidly, opening friendship centers in partnership with our distributors so we can be closer to our customers and offer them a much higher level of service. We have already opened one in Kano and several more will be opened within the next few months.

We also now have a more robust subscriber management system that has greatly improved our processes and removed a lot of the challenges we faced in the past. Our new office in Ikeja will be opened to the public shortly and the location comes with ample space to serve our customers better. We are also on the verge of hitting our 200,000 subscriber mark after only two years of commercial existence and this goes to show the confidence Nigerians have in our services, as they continue to acquire it. This is definitely worth celebrating.

I could go on and on but the bottom line is HiTV is progressing as a company and several changes are taking place that put us in a better position to satisfy our current customers and attract more. We are moving from being a start up to a full operational company. Whilst we were expected to out perform a foreign owned, financed and run 15 year plus business on day 1, we have worked very hard to do this in the last 18 months and are very proud of ourselves as a 100 per cent Nigerian staffed, run and financed business. The young brilliant Nigerians who work and run HiTV are all future leaders of this great country!

HiTv at two, what are the plans on ground to celebrate?
We are grateful to God and Nigerians for the support we received since we started the business. It was quite challenging at the beginning but by the grace of God we have been able to achieve so much. Today, we are Africa ’s fastest growing pay TV and as a Nigerian company, that makes us very proud. Very important is the fact that the only other new player in Africa , GTV, went into liquidation at the beginning of this month but we are not only still alive but growing stronger. For this we are truly grateful to God. The script that was written by men was that we should have since liquidated!

Any plans to acquire more channels, and when?
Definitely yes! We will add on new channels and also better content; we have 6 indigenous hi channels that we buy content for. Our plan in addition to adding new channels, is also to improve on the programmes being aired on our indigenous channels so we can provide all year round entertainment to all our subscribers. We recently carried out a survey on what our customers would like to see on HiTV and the result from this survey will act as our guide for channel acquisition going forward.

What makes HiTV different from other content distributors?
Our major differentiator is our ability to provide all the content at a price the average Nigerian can afford.

How was HiTv able to resolve the issue of payment of subscription; that is now a model?
As I said earlier, the new subscriber management system has improved our processes tremendously. We have been able to perfect automation with this system and this has brought a lot of ease to our customers. Once they make the payment at the bank, the account is activated automatically. It is only in very few cases, such as when the smart card numbers are not correctly filled in the tellers or are posted wrongly that delays are experienced. Even in such cases, once the customer calls in we are able to rectify quickly. By the end of the month our dear subscribers will be able to pay, on-line, at any ATM, through well distributed scratch cards, POS terminals at our dealers etc.

Two years on, what are the challenges HiTv has faced and how did it overcome them?
The major challenge HiTV faced as an organization in the last two years was in the area of service delivery. I must confess we were quite overwhelmed by Nigerians who came out massively to support out business. The period it took us to take necessary steps meant that many of our subscribers did not receive the very best of services from us, for that, we offer our sincere apologies. We have, however quickly responded to the need and taken the necessary steps to put in place better facilities to support our growing business. You will agree with me that most of the issues surrounding payment confirmation and activations have been dealt with. We are however not resting on our oars as we are determined as an organization to give world class services.

What plans are on ground to make HiTv remain on the top spot it is currently enjoying?
Continue to put Nigerians first and begin to plough back more investment into local content which has always been our destination. We made a detour in order to be able to attract the much needed revenue to improve our local content. Very soon we will be the number one international marketer/ seller of Nigerian films, music and sports. We don’t have to try, we already arrogantly believe it is the number one product in the world. Watch.
