hi squad1,yes your smart card will go off in 3-5 days because the cards are programmed by conax,to enable you preview.your dealer is to activate it before the end of that 3-5days.that is the process.

hi sology,amuludun is not under hitv's control.hitv receives the signal via satellite and re-broadcasts it's to subscribers,so what ever is been aired comes direct from amuludun not hitv.amuludun has over the past 3-4weeks had some technical issues,which his almost solved and will come up very soon.

Hi all Discovery World is now showing on 11900 H 27500,scan now to get the channel.

hi,yes hitv now has a channel in the UK called HITV channel 204.started broadcast at 11;30am on monday (10/11/2008).currently it's on test- transmission,and will start full 24 hours broadcast from the 22nd of november,2008.the channel will be a mix of nigezie and hi nolly.18hours of nigezie and 7hours of hi nolly.

hi why not save the self pity and go to your dealer to find out the issues with your decorder/smart card,or better till if you are in lagos come to the hitv office to lay your complains.thank you

hi please stop complaining about every thing.if you feel there is an issue with your sub,simply take your card and decorder to your dealer and find out what's wrong with your system.because your system is active on the system.

HiTV, bracing up for better delivery

IN fulfillment of a promise by the company to continually upgrade its systems to ensure that subscribers enjoy value-added services, Entertainment Highway Limited, parent company of HiTV, Nigeria's leading pay-TV platform, has begun a comprehensive restructuring of its entire operations spanning human resources, marketing, customer care, infrastructure and technology.

Specifically, the station, which began operations in February last year on the terrestrial platform, has enhanced its manpower base by recruiting a new set of staff, acquired a state-of-the-art software, and reinvigorated both the customer service delivery and marketing units.

During an interactive session with the media at the company's corporate office in Lagos on Tuesday November 4, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of EHL, Mr. Toyin Subair said the company is not unaware of customers' expectations and its determination to respond to the needs of customers by operating a top range outfit defined by quality programming and content, competitive pricing and robust technology.

"From conception we set out to run a business based on best practices and global standards. This is a promise we intend to keep regardless of any challenges" Subair said, adding, "We have deployed a variety of strategies to solve whatever problems that have arisen, and are optimistic that in the shortest possible time all our subscribers will enjoy the type of quality and uninterrupted broadcasting that they deserve" According to the HiTV Chief, the company is currently installing the Magnaquest software, which is based on a far more advanced technology than the subsisting Subscriber Management System, aptly called Magic, and this process will be completed in the next three weeks.

With its deployment, hiccups such as activation delays, crediting subscription or renewal fees will become a thing of the past as the new software will complete the process in a matter of minutes.

Subair observed that while most subscribers would prefer to throng the company's premises in Lagos to make payments or to activate their decoders whereas they can make such payments at any branch of Guaranty Trust Bank in any part of the country and get activated, He added that often subscribers fail to supply the appropriate information such as correct smart card numbers when making payments, which makes it difficult for their transactions to be processed without delay.To tackle this, the company has embarked on an awareness campaign to educate subscribers about the GT Bank payment option. It has also recruited a dedicated team of 10 who work round the clock to clear any backlogs arising from renewal of subscriptions. Additionally it has expanded the Customer Care Unit to ensure that as many customers as possible are attended to without delay.

Another major development, Subair disclosed is that the company's head office will within the next three months be moved to a more spacious location along Mobalaji Bank-Anthony Way, Ikeja, which will have adequate space for the installation of ultra communications facilities, which, among others, will handle 60 calls over two lines simultaneously.

In addition, three satellite offices are currently being established in Ilupeju, Surulere and Lekki-Ajah, all in Lagos, to ensure convenient access by customers, while full-fledged branches will be opened in Jos, Port Harcourt, Maiduguri and Kano, to join the existing ones in Lagos, Abuja and Asaba.

Not oblivious of a highly competitive and dynamic business environment driven by ICT, the company has also established a dedicated interactive website through which customers will have direct contact with staff of the Customer Care Unit and dealers, as well as provide access to programme schedules and other useful information.

The company has also signed a partnership agreement with an e-payment company to increase the number of payment options available to subscribers. With this, subscribers can also renew their subscription through SMS.

In the area of content, Subair noted that the station presently has something for everyone, not just football or the English Premier League, and in the next couple of months Entertainment Highway Limited will significantly increase its channels offerings to address every key program genre. It also will be dedicating a lot of resources and time on the development of Nigeria-specific content.

Entertainment Highway Limited jolted the Nigerian broadcast market when in 2006 it won the right to the English Premier League and the Spanish Liga for Nigeria. It became the first television platform in Africa to deploy the new terrestrial pay per view decoder system technology known as the MMDS Hypercable, which makes pay TV viewing cheaper before moving to satellite (DTH) broadcast.

Subair also used the occasion to clarify that for the purpose of effectiveness, HiTV and Entertainment Highway Limited have become distinct entities, with the former concentrating on content acquisition and channel development and the latter on Pay TV operations and subscriber management. Each outfit is now manned by different Chief Operating Officers.

A measure of how well the company has filled its mission is seen in its growth from its rather humble beginnings as terrestrial platform with less than 2000 subscribers by the middle of last year to over 160,000 registered subscribers at the end of September this year after migrating to the satellite platform in August last year.

In thanking its subscribers for their understanding, Subair said the company will always respond to meet their wishes, adding that the transformation of the country's television and broadcast industry remains on course from content to programming, and technology to platforms.

hi nolly and nigezie now transmit in the UK on SKY,so nomination is for the uk operation of hitv.and has for the picture quality of the hi channel,something is been done about that.

HI dreday,please check your decorder to find out what software vision is on ur decorder.if it's not 2.05 please go to ur dealer for a upgrade.also check your dish to find out if your it's on the right position.

hi goldman,yes discovery world has been added to the hitv channel list on the site,because the deal with discovery is a sealed and signed.the channel will soon be added.but note that setanta will come up before it.

amuludun is off due to some technical issues from their end.they are working on it and hopefully the will be soonest.

hi all,KidsCo has been added.scan 12130 H 27500 freq to get the channel.setanta africa is next and discovery world will follow after that.

hi mutay,if you check my past post you will find out that i said the upgrade will be done at listed dealers office to be announced,and not at the hitv office.

hi i think discovery is far better because,they have over 6 different channels(discovery channel,world,science,travel and living,health,realtime,animal planet).nat geo. has (nat geo. channel,wild,adventure,music,junior).so you see discovery has far more quality channels,never mind what you see on dstv.there are more discovery channel covering far more issues.

hi bami,the upgrade will be for those with 2.04,2.05 and 2.07 (feb.).it's going to be a total upgrade,more details will be made known to all subscribers via sms,mail,website and newspapers.and will be done at announced dealers offices nationwide.

hi Mortiple,yes there are touts even at dstv office,but i can inform you that you will not need to even go to hitv's office because many new innovative means will be introdued to make subscription payments easyer and faster.

let me info you all that,those channels are coming up.all i can say for now is that kidsco shall come first.
the delay is way way not at hitv end.the delay was due to the need by eutelsat to test the feeds before they add the channel.the test for kidsco as been concluded and next will be to add the channel hopefully by the end of the week(on 12130H27500).

testing of the feed for discovery just started and maybe added by next week,same with setanta.really sorry for the long delay.

hi sology,the problem with you expect thing to be done now now.well let me inform you that in the paytv business things are not done like that.many changes are coming up at hitv,one of which is the new channels,super fast activation(many other means of paying your subscription apart from bank payments),etc.

hi well sology if you think because hitv activation is bad well let me info you that activation on hitv will be as fast as a ferrari car.magnaquest are about 90% done.

for the epl match let me info you that the epl board gave dstv chelsea/livepool because they will not be airing tuesday and wednesday matches,so don't start thinking hitv will not air big epl matches.arsenal/man. utd will be live on hitv.

hi it's daarsat you should be worring for,because you are the one that has spent all that large amount and if you can't match that in terms of getting more top class contents then you and daar are in big big trouble.it's one thing to spent money is another to last over 10years,etc.daar should just watch it,

hi kay_pumpin ,please the gold chip on your card has to face down and not up.also your system should be up has i write.please you can now call the hitv call centre,it has been expanded.also you can send your requests via the hitv customer care form section at www.hitv.com.ng/customer.php there are now staffs there to reply and work on all your requests.thank you

hi okomogo and f.u up,please sorry for the delay in activation.there is a migration currently going on,magnaquest have now fully taken charge and work is currently in process and everything is been done to reduce any problem.this is been done to serve you even more better and provide a fast and easy activation process and customer service.all requests for activation have been received by hitv and will soon come up.please do bear with HITV.thank you

hi sology,have you not noticed the programme changes on Hi Nolly?.there are now more new movies,series and talkshows,etc.has the channels grow you shall always see more better changes.and as for the picture quality on the HI Channels,HiTV and eutelsat are currently working on that.
