unyours: I simply can't just imagine a place without GSM, no electricity, no borehole(na stream or river things o), no nairaland or facebook, probably nude with no houses, no eating of sardine, indomie and other processed food, no eating of meat but only fruits and shrubs, no dancing of skelewu, alanta, shoki or azonto, no comedy, no nolly-/bolly-/gholly-/holly- wood, no primier league or world cup. For years that I have being reading bible, I've never for one day be convinced on why it is called HOLY BIBLE. Maybe someone will help me out here..

Please before you all cruxify me, kindly give my reasons second thought.

The word bible in hebrew means BOOK. The BOOK of books, a collection of writtings from 40 different people. And they all comprised of historic narrations of 40 generations.

Didactically, I tried to reason out what is so special or important about bible but no one to convince me. Rather I see Nigeria atmosphere awashed with the application of this bible to enslave the human potentials, to the extent people have no more freedom of thinking without quoting bible.
.
The question is, DID JESUS CARRY BIBLE? Did Jesus use car? Did Jesus wear suit? Did Jesus use phone? Did Jesus know computer?
.
This means the historical accounts in the bible were written as at the time of little or limited innovation. There is no story in the bible that we have never experienced similar cases even in Nigeria. There is no any singular miracle Jesus performed that had never been performed in Nigeria. What now makes it holy that lots of people carry it in their hands for prayer?
.
Should we all decide to collate all miracles that had been performed in Nigeria into a singular book, what name shall we call it? Do you think if such book is taken to western world they will accept it?

This thread is not meant to ridicule any person but a platform to share knowledge to rehabilitate our minds.

Alan Miller a former IT specialist confirmed he was indeed the son of God and has clear memories of the crucifixion. His partner Mary Luck he claims is Mary Magdalene who was also present at the crucifixion, he whinged that nobody believes him ( wonder why ?) and lastly he also said donations are welcome not obligatory, fantastic, definitely not a Nigerian !

Sarassin: I have often wondered why “official” Christendom has outlawed the Gospel of Thomas (Coptic).

For me it is one of the most stunning and illuminating documents ever to come to light. It is a part of the Nag Hammadi find written in Coptic Greek dating to around 4CE, the writings in Syriac (a variation of Aramaic) dates to the middle of the 1st century CE. In other words the author was a contemporary of Jesus and it was written originally in a language Jesus may have spoken unlike the other Gospels written in Greek. We would not be far wrong to call it “the Fifth Gospel”

The Gospel is slightly gnostic in nature, it contains no birth or death narrative and reads mainly as a book of 112 sayings of Jesus, however, many of the sayings have parallels in the book of Matthew. And for all intent likely pre-dates Matthew. It begins with the following; “these are the secret words which the living Jesus spoke and are written down by Didymus Judas Thomas. The one who finds meanings in these words will not taste death”

Who was Didymus Judas Thomas ? Both “Didymus” and “Thomas” are words that simply mean “twin” “Didymus” is Greek and Thomas is Semitic, therefore his proper name is Judas, and he is a twin. In the ancient Syrian Book “acts of Thomas” we are told he is a blood relation of Jesus, the one mentioned in the NT Gospel of Mark 6:3, to cut a long story short, Didymus Judas Thomas is likely the twin brother of Jesus.

In the “acts of Thomas” Jesus is at pains several times to point out that he must not be confused with “Judas Thomas”, it is also clear even in the NT that “Judas Thomas” or “Thomas” as he is more commonly referred to is a close confidante of Jesus. Has the Gospel been excluded primarily to prevent a parallel being drawn between Jesus and a possible twin brother in direct opposition to orthodox belief ?
