Politics / Re: Which Nigerian Leader Is Truly Accepted All Africans? by UsamabinYamiri: 2:17am On Nov 04, 2012
I guess we have to produce a leader who has risen above Nigerian nepotism/tribalism before we can aspire to produce a leader
of the calibre that Africa demands. So why then are we the giant of Africa? Is it oil/geopolitics?
Every African country is discovering oil- Liberia, Ghana, Uganda, Malawi(lake Malawi) Angola, Eq-Guinea, Cameroon, Gabon.
So what is the essence of our claim that Nigeria is the Giant of Africa?
Politics / Which Nigerian Leader Is Truly Accepted All Africans? by UsamabinYamiri: 2:03am On Nov 04, 2012
Zik of Africa, I know.
Kwame Nkrumah,Patrice Lumumba, Julius Nyerere, Oliver Tambo and Nelson Mandela too.
Thabo Mbeki came close before he was rubbished by Zuma.
But for all times we say that Nigeria is the giant of Africa, why is it that we haven't
produced a leader that All Africa will without hesitation adopt as one of her true leaders?

So yes I am sure Chinua Achebe has seen this.

A picture is worth more than a thousand words, but this "picture" is a still from a video of the Aburi Conference in Ghana at the start of the war.
I have seen the Video: Gowon was eating like a bushman while Ojukwu was careful not to eat anything.

Politics / Re: Ijaws &other Southsouth Minorities Are The Greatest Enemies Of Igbos Not Yorubas by UsamabinYamiri: 11:06pm On Nov 03, 2012
The greatest enemy of the Igbo is the Igbo.
If Igbo are serious, we can still be in Nigeria and not be of Nigeria and how Nigeria what an asset Igboland is.
If we do that, we would not be crying marginalization.

Western ways are making Nigerians discard our moral compass!
Politics / Lie: Igbo Do Not Own 70% Of Abuja. All Nigerians Are In Abuja by UsamabinYamiri: 10:16pm On Nov 03, 2012
What are ramifications of Igbo owning 70% Abuja and 50% Lagos?
I read somewhere that the Igbo own 70% of Abuja. Well, you can rest assured that they DO NOT own that much of a stake.
I went to FCT geographic information service website AGIS website to see allocation of land in Abuja, these are C of O's issued and not claimed
And to my surprise the percentages are rougly equal Igbo 20%, Yoruba 20% Hausa 20%, South-South 20%, and Foreign missions and Businesses 20%
FCT is truly the land of Unity.

God bless Abuja
God bless Nigeria!

Crime / Nigerian Jailed In UK For 'juju' Rituals Sex Trafficking by UsamabinYamiri: 5:14am On Oct 31, 2012
A man who carried out "juju" witchcraft on teenage girls he trafficked from Nigeria to Europe for prostitution has been jailed for 20 years.

Osezua Osolase, 42, from Gravesend, Kent preyed on poverty-stricken orphans with the promise of a better life, Canterbury Crown Court heard.

Judge Adele Williams told him he was devoid of conscience and compassion.

Osolase was found guilty of five counts of trafficking, one of rape and one of sexual activity with a child.

The jury was told in a six-week trial which ended on Friday that West African "juju rituals" were used to instil terror into Osolase's three vulnerable victims, one aged just 14.

'Exploitation and degradation'
The judge said the recycling worker, who has HIV, put his victims "in fear" to force their obedience and secure their silence.

Politics / Re: Achebe Has Pathological Hatred For Yoruba. Said Soyinka Stole His Mandate by UsamabinYamiri: 10:26am On Oct 21, 2012
Igbos never bow down to any man.
That is one thing Nigeria will never understand.

Achebe, i can guarantee you is not concerned about who won Nobel prize or who won Mo Ibrahim Prize.
Why? because his Igbo roots make it such that he does not need the validation of anybody for him to know his self worth.

Igbo have a history for standing on pricinple.
Even Sir Akanu Ibiam denounced his knighthood and gave Queen Elizabeth her yeye ornaments.
Which of your people has ever demonstrated integrity to principle.
Even Ojukwu that you people are quick to deride, at least if not for any other thing stood up as a man, on principle.
When you do that, or have examples of your kind who have done the same, then we can talk about mandates.

sweet_gala: It's a shame the man must capitalize on the discord in our society to sell his book which in it's most reserved interpretation promotes disharmony , distrust, vengeance and hate all in the hope of settling old scores with enemies long dead and gone, unleashing a portion of the truth to misguide the populace.
A grand abuse of position and influence.
The old man can be sure he'll never catch that Nobel price with this turn of events, it would forever elude him.

Why should he hold his tongue or rather pen?
What thing of value is there to protect in our society? A society where corruption is rife, and mediocrity reigns.
Politics / What Role Should Africa, The AU, Or Nigeria Play In US Presidential Election by UsamabinYamiri: 9:26am On Oct 21, 2012
Africa deserves consideration in the presidential debate on Monday.
Obama has not had any significant impact on the lives of Africans.
George Bush, for all the trouble he brought to the world, at least gave us PEPFAR- President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, which brought life saving treatment at affordable prices.

Africa has received scant attention to date except the recent killing of the US ambassador in Libya.

What is important to us as Africans that should be the prism through which we view the upcoming elections?
Should we engage the US as individual nations or should we speak with one voice through the AU?
Foreign Affairs / Reports Gaddafi Son Khamis Dead In Libya Fighting by UsamabinYamiri: 9:07am On Oct 21, 2012
There have been celebrations in Libya’s capital Tripoli on the first anniversary of Muammar Gaddafi’s capture and death.

Dozens of vehicles parked around Martyrs’ square and many people danced and waved Libyan flags as unconfirmed reports emerged that Gaddafi’s youngest son Khamis had died after being captured.

“We are happy because they caught the tyrant’s son and other remnants of the regime. It is a gift the revolutionairies gave us for the souls of the martyrs,” said Tripoli resident Ali Al Toomi.

28-year-old Khamis was known as one of the most hardline of Gaddafi’s sons. His body was apparently found in Bani Walid, the scene of fierce fighting over the past two weeks.

But he has been reported dead several times before and there are conflicting reports about whether he was killed or captured on this occasion.

In a further development, Gaddafi’s former spokesman Moussa Ibrahim has reportedly been captured.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, he was caught in a town 70 kilometres south of Tripoli.

Ibrahim was the mouthpiece of the Gaddafi regime during last year’s civil war. His whereabouts had been unknown since the fall of Tripoli in August 2011

They have allowed their territories as a breeding ground for terrorists. Am deeply convinced that imam shekau is been granted a safe haven by these countries. It is high time they saw this problem as a collective one.

Politics / Jonathan Intervenes In Mali Political Crisis by UsamabinYamiri: 7:40am On Oct 21, 2012
President Goodluck Jonathan in Bamako yesterday said the political crisis in Mali needed collective actions to resolve.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after arrival in the Bamako Senou International Airport, the President said the political crisis in Mali which arose because of secessionist bid from militants in the northern part of the country, was one that needed collective effort in its resolution based on the decisions of the United Nations.

He said his intervention in the political crisis was to ensure that peace and stability returns to the country. "I am here on one-day visit to see how we can resolve the problem facing the country, and we are indeed committed to ensuring peace in Mali."

President Jonathan during the visit is expected to meet with the country's Prime Minister, the former president, and leaders of the political parties, civil society groups and the Nigerian community in Mali.

The President was received on arrival by the interim president, Mr. Dioncounda Traore, Nigerian Ambassador to Mali, Ambassador Iliya Nuhu, top government officials and members of the Nigerian community in Mali.

He was accompanied on the trip by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs(II), Nurudeen Mohammed and Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada and other government functionaries

Dumbfuck Jonathan is in Mali to resolve Islamic Fundamentalism in Mali, when Boko Haram is tearing Nigeria apart.

Family / Re: Wake Up! We Need To Talk by UsamabinYamiri: 7:00am On Oct 21, 2012
If your spouse wakes you up in the middle of the night to have a discussion.
This is my recommendation:
Re-assure her that you love her, and tell her that you'd not be going to work the next morning,
and will have all the time to address her concerns.

Early the next morning, get on the phone and call your lawyer first, and your accountant next.
After you've handled your business, then you can grab a cup of coffee and hear what she has to say!

Oh, and if you cant afford to have an account in Luxembourg, Or Switzerland, then maybe you should look into the Caymans or Montenegro

If you were an intelligence officer of a foreign country, and you read/know of the manner of criminality in Nigeria.
And you see that this criminality goes unpunished.
Next time you are at an airport and someone produces a green passport- What would you do?
Even if he claims he is a senator of the federal republic- I would thoroughly investigate and scrutinize him
because in doing so, I may interrupt a terrorist plot e.g Abdul Mutallab, Or Nigerian senator detained in SA for fake yellow fever documents.

These are many reasons why our Naija Passport has no worth.
(of course 419, drugs, prostitution, or our ambassador's son wey go disgrace us for yankee by getting involved in gang-rape in DC...the list is endless)

You might as well travel with the Red Cross Refugee passport, because showing a nigerian passport anywhere just confirms that
you are a worthless nigger.

I am ashamed that this man is a senator of our fatherland.

Prof Achebe was only chronicling our History.
The Hereros of Namibia were almost exterminated by the Germans in Namibia.
If we say that now, does that mean we are Anti German.
The Americans wiped the Indian of the surface of North America.
If we Say so now, Does that make me anti American?

The Nigerian government is guilty of the first genocide in Modern African History.
Anybody who has a guilty conscience can go blow himself up.
I don't know why some people have to personalize everything.
The truth is the truth, though it may have a bodyguard of innuendo, lies and liars.

Achebe has told the truth Kpom Kwem.

I really dont think there is a connection between the question I asked and this your answer.

If it is not comparable to America/Afghanistan
I wonder if the Nigerians that were victorious in battle can show us what concrete things the FGN did to rehabilitate
the victims of the Nigerian civil war. We have heard of the Marshall Plan etc after WW II in other climes
Abi is it just to come on nairaland and speak without reason.
