Exactly what's on my mind too when I saw that screen shot.

They're two different things entirely
in 2014 there occurred a 6 month data wipe out (January to Jun 2014) on Nairaland.
If not for that I would have shown you the kind of things these lots said during those period of the world cup inclusive of dippset.

the reason they are meek about it now is because Leo has been dropping disasterclass after disaster class. Hence their brains are resetting a lirul bit.

read this particular comment what does it tell you of his thought process during those days he was high on messi dose. Messi was still peak in 2014. but he is now wash and dippsset is now having is priorities right.

But on a more serious note and to be fair, I didn't see him supporting Argentina over Nigeria nor jubilating when messi scored enyeama according to the screenshot you brought.

@usbcable
They all did. Go back to the post and their comments during that period. That was what i was referencing.

You guys are just missing the point.

I dunno if Usbcable for one, is getting alert for pushing this decitful narrative once every year for the past 10 years.

I know of a lot of Oyinbo people who seriously rooted for the Super Eagles at USA 94 and also at Atlanta 96.
Now what do we say about them?

Support for teams at FIFA World Cups has never been entirely about race and nationality.

The traditional FIFA World cup teams esp; like Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Italy and lately Spain have always had good support across the world at FIFA world cups, irrespective of Messi; irrespective of skin colour
And that's because back then the competition was more popular than the champions league we all love today.
It was our biggest opportunity to see our best players in the pitch and see the best football.

So generation to generation these big teams especially have always had massive support from fans across Africa at World Cups.
And trust me there is a good number who did that because they didn't have any belief in their home nation while many did because they saw the best football and the best players from these big teams.

Even at the Euros where there is no Naija, some of us always have a team we root for.
It's football.

But agreeably times have changed. There is more focus on club football but those tendencies would take some time.

Millions of Naija fans support certain teams at World Cups and Euros, Fact.

But again, I don't think anyone would support any other Nation in a head to head match against the Super Eagles.
tell us what you were thinking when you typed the below in screenshots.
You ego has relaxed after realising that your messiah is no longer the Leo he used to be.
by 2034 your senses would have fully reset because Messi would have retired then and all the nonsense fake patriotism that you have for Argentina would have washed away and you wold remember how black you are and start supporting the one thing that choose you and you did not choose

i.e NIGERIA

imagine you guys jubilating that Messi scored against Enyeama. tueh I spit in disgust and shame for you guys.

How you miss the word "descent" in order to pass your point is what I don't understand.

A German citizen of Polish descent has the right to support which ever or both of the two countries cos he's affiliated to both.

How you support Argentina over Nigeria when you're not a descent or citizen of Argentina is ... Mehn!!!!

And how you even turn around saying those criticising your decision is just a way of "rubbishing messi greatness" is just so damn laughable
They rather Messi be happy than them having their own joy. Messi's joy is their joy.

Firstly, I'm not a Madrid fan, but then that's by the way.

And I've not seen anyone that supports Portugal "solely" cos of Ronaldo but you are the 2nd person I've seen supporting Argentina over Nigeria and I find it weird.
That's why I brought up the Croatian team as example. Maybe perhaps, you've a root In Argentina cos I dont see the rationale behind it (just because messi is there). If Argentina is your 2nd footballing team, that's wholly understandable, but over Nigeria??
Weird!!
it was a very long dragging here then. them plenty oooo.
shamelessly wishing Messi (NOT ARGENTINA) wins. If Messi was playing for Ghana or Cameroon or even South Africa these shameless lots will pray they trounce Nigeria too.

Not a single Madrid fans supported or wished Portugal well above Nigeria.

Well, you brought it up yourself. I can support Nigeria in Africa Cup of Nations but World Cup is a different ball game. You've got to be realistic

Nothing shameful here. Nigeria has zero prospects in the world Cup. Never crossed the round of 16 before. Argentina, on the other hand, reached the final in 2014.
You're just being unnecessarily emotional over a lost case as Nigeria.

Me I supported Argentina in 2010, 2014 and 2018. I'll support them again in 2022.
I pass. we did a long back and forth on it then. i no get energy for that again.

Yh. I think Zidane is not being brave enough. One thing with youngsters is they experience lots of ups and downs. You have to stick with them. Real Madrid has an envious array of young talents, more than any club in Europe but it is incredible none has staked a claim in the starting 11 yet. I believe if Florentino had kept faith with Lopetgui, he'd had brought alot of young players up by now. He struggled and got sacked.

What Koeman is doing at Barcelona now, was what Real Madrid needed to do 2 years ago.
and we are still not yet interested in starting to do it.

Real Madrid youth rebuilding process has failed spectacularly. shocked shocked shocked

One thing Barcelona seem to be achieving with ease.

Once Zidane experiences one loss, he abandons any experiment with youngsters and hurry back to his usual old guards, just to save his job.
Even the old guards are not delivering.

Ofcourse he is the manager he has to be blamed, he even says it in his press conferences after losses like this that he takes all the blame as the manager cos it's his job to find solutions...

I'm just not in support of those that want him out..blame him, fine but if he is sacked who out there can replace him? Who can manage all the ego's in that dressing room like him? There are realistically only few managers that can adequately replace him and none of them are currently available

The players also take part of the blame..I don't think I need to elaborate on this..there are just some things that players do on the pitch that is soo out of place and solely on them and not the manager

I think Zidane needs to be more ruthless..he has grown soft, the Player Zidane should come back so that he can adequately and efficiently carry out the rebuilding process, players should be made to know that no form of slacking would be tolerated like in the 2016/17 season where we had an A and B team any slacking from the A team and someone from the B team was always ready and hungry to replace...

Zidane is a genius but he suffers from toomuch loyalty and that can be cured..he just has to get a wake up call and that's where Perez should come in
The last comment is it. If he is not keen on his own success any longer he should please pity the fans for the loyalty they have shown him too

Does Zidane has any blame in this crises?
If Yes, to what extent?
Who takes the majority of the blame?
If No, who is to blame?
What should have ben done by the/those persons?

out of all those players only James has proven himself...the rest are all shadows...Vinny on the other hand had all his confidence sucked out by God knows who so I think Zidane knew what he was doing in that dept

But he hasn't really rebuilt and yes I also think that's the main issue here
Bale wasnt played even added to team list at times. It was an acrimonious relationship between the two.
Although I wish Bale was more professional as it would have helped him now.

But the fact that James is now doing well likewise Brahim, Jovic, Hakimi to mention a few speaks a lot about the personality of Zidane

Valverde, Rodrygo, Asensio(UCL exploits especially)

But your points remain valid...we were expecting an overhaul when Perez brought him back and we had the facilities for that but 2½ years down the road and we are even worse than when he arrived
we have great prospects but they are all regressing at the moment.

Asensio is a total shadow
Valverde is not as sharp as he was.
Vini is a joke at the moment.
Rodrygo will come back from injury and sit his sorry ass on the bench

I dont blame him.

he was doing well at Sociedad.
it was obvious we needed improvement in the midfield last season and everyone was happy O was coming back.

we didnt know he was coming back OYO as Apari was not interested in having him.

he had Modric, Kroos and Isco.

One thing with this Club is that no matter what you have won in the past when you start getting consistent fvck ups the fans immediately lose patience and I can't blame them..I'm part of these kind of fans to an extent, it's just in our DNA

Zidane and Perez should better Jazz up
But Fans have been extremely patient with Zidane.
Even the media have not blamed him.

everyone has been blamed
Bale
James
Vinicius
Benzema
Isco
Marcelo
just name it

but never Zidane. the thing is there is always a limit to that tolerance. Sadly he has gone past that opportunity. Its too late to start wanting to rebuild. rebuilding will result in loosing matches. which makes it worse for him

if that was what he had been doing since the start of last season folks will understand but now doing it will make him look inept and incompetent.

The 3peat heros are getting Old.
We need to rebuild
We need at least a STRIKER
if you must keep the legends it does not mean you play them to the detriment of developing the younger ones.

tell me one youngster that has progressed under Zidane into first team status and is seen as world class? NONE.
