what we need and have needed since Ronaldo left is a natural born goalscorer. But instead we bought Jovic and then strapped him to the bench. Another season without a goal scorer may not be favorable, last season we got away with it. We could get Cavani or try for Immobile, but I will wait till next summer hopefully Perez signs both Mbappe and Haaland
Cavani and Immobile are old already.

Our midfield
Our defence
Our goal keeper
positions are brimming with viable youthful prospects

only the ATTACK aka Striker is what we have yet addressed and not addressing.

BENZEMA style cant cater for that as things stands. He is doing his utmost but reality is that it may unlikely take us far. Our saving grace was the improved ability of our defence. But if instances of ManCity crop up more we are done for it this season.

Exactly .. Hazard playing just behind them

and if Zizou wants to go tweak somethings in attack, we use Vini and Rodrygoal on the wings and Jovic and Benz on top with Case and Kroos/Valverde just behind them

LoL i'm just factoring this in cause i know Zizou will never bench Benzema
Benzema has earned his stripes. He has battled many strikers under different coaches and survived. That counts for something GREAT.

But if ZZ can bench Bale, can send James to just anywhere, and can bring on youngsters to play minutes. Our striker and goal scoring role should not be this unpromising.

What I now fear most is Jovic and co psyche. If he now plays them in 1 or two matches they will want to impress at all cost. Failure will take us back to praying that "The Cat" (Sarcasm is Mou's) remains our best option at scoring goals. And we haven't been doing that so much in the last number of games since last season.

Nobody is disputing the fact that he does make mistakes and there is no popular coach in the world right now that hasn't been accused of being stubborn.... besides I don't even see your point..you want us to start crying that the season is already over and we are done for after one match or what?

Do your thing bro but like I said, I've seen this movie Soomany times now...
What i say is thesame thing i have always said bros. Even the Benzema and Zidane in focus I praise and yab them both at varying occassions.

To your question (since you ended it with a question mark), i did not say that either. And there is no law that says we cant complain of mistakes of a popular coach as admitted by you too even if its for a single match.

And yes, we have seen this movie from Zidane too many times.

So if you notice, instead of people appreciating his effort of introducing youngsters into our game the opposite is what is playing out. WHY? It made no sense. It you have a justification as to why it makes sense kindly let us know. No one is even talking of either youngster which is unfair on them. It puts undue pressure on them too. No thanks to ZZ.

I sincerely hope you get my drift.

You got me there. tongue

But he is stubborn and he is also GOAT grin grin grin grin grin

but jokes apart we all know he is stubborn. Terribly stubborn even in the face of wrong choices.

Again, we dont need to keep saying the "I trust Zidane" or the "Zidane knows what he is doing" even in the face of doing things that makes no sense. He is human and very fallible like any other coach.

what's wrong with having both øde and Modric on the pitch at the same timehuh

And I didn't say anyone was sharp, I said the whole team lacked sharpness and cohesiveness...the ones on the pitch even had some minutes in them already from the International break and the friendly..the backup strikers you were calling for would have fared worse in this particular match

I know say e pain you say we drop points but abeg no dey insult Zidane...he has earned it
Zidane no well.
Nobody is beyond criticism jare.

let's just say not the right ones but glad he gave Marvin a chance anyway
Honestly, I am not against him playing younger players.

We had a terrible problem last season and 2 seasons ago. We could not score goals.

We have already started with playing OKRO soup. The teams attack is dying.

I don't know but that was a simple maths there ...

"let's go back to our infamous Cross and inshallah" leave Øde on the pitch take off Modric and the two Brazilian boys and bring in either our expensive 23yr old striker or Mayoral to be in the box and bring in Case to help the defense incase of any opposition counter on us ...

then we'll have Kroos, Benz, Øde and the fullbacks taking in crosses for the (original) striker in the Box and let's see if magic won't happen after like 120 crosses inside that box
we just kept swinging play from right to left back to right. REPEAT.

nothing happened in the final third

Nope but it can make players not be as sharp as they usually are.... Jovic or Mariano wouldn't have changed the outcome of this match, I know that's where you're headed
And we saw what those that were sharp did while on the pitch. And those he brought on did too.

Throughout last season he brings Jovic on 88 minutes to the end so match (exaggerations mine grin) but for God's sake what is wrong with that his bald head at over tinkling with things.

he even put Modric and Odegaard on the pitch at thesame time

You said he doesn't want to go to court bcoz he will loose,so u expect him to take Barcelona to court and destroy his legacy of over 15 years
Exactly my point again.

Emotions will tell him to fight to finish since he is tired and angry. because he has complained for years and till this afternoon nothing has changed.

Logic (using his brains) tells going to court will mean loosing EVERYTHING built. because there is a clause in his agreement that cant make the transaction easy for any potential buyer. The aces are in Barca and Barto's hands.

All thesame if he wanted to leave he this is not a favorable condition. He should wait it out and leave end of this season

Well what was Barca's revenue last season? I think that would give a clearer picture.

I don't believe a Messi exit will dent Barcelona's revenue in the 9 figures. They are too big a club for that to happen. The issue is on the playing side if you hold on to a Messi that may or may not give his best, that could get injured, that could be a victim of Father time and just decline naturally.

I'm looking at your squad, I can't see too much improvement. It's still Busquets, Pique and Lengelenge with Semedo and Alba in that defense. So what's the point of holding on to Messi and wasting another year of the good ones he has left
Thanks for the last paragraph.

Barca transfer market is not active yet they hope fr a miracle with only 13 professionals according to Vidal

My point of disagreement is with you saying that Messi never wanted to leave.

With all the disappontmens of the last 3 seasons?

You think that Messi doesn't want to win more things before he retires?

If you Messi and Man City wanted to buy you and increase your wages,

What would hold you back?

1.Earn money
2.Play under Pep again
3.Play with a better team

Why would you say he doesn't want to leave?
Messi definitely would go in another circumstance.

Not in this current situation.

Forget all these noises these people are making.

I do not see any club in the world that would have let Messi go at 33. They don't wear the shoe.

A player who just won Ballon dor 9 months ago and who at 33 still statistically had the best individual performance in Europe.
Coupled with his commercial value!

Everybody can yap and yap and tap all day and all night,
But no club would have let this Messi go without a fight to keep him.
I agree with what you said here.

TO NOW FOLLOW THE PATH OF MESSI WANTING TO LEAVE (ASSUMING HE WANTED TO TRULY)
All the talk by MESSI not wanting to go to court because he loves Barca is the biggest lie in the whole saga. Where was the love when he handed a notice of wanting to transfer.

His lawyers would have told him he would loose the case terribly.

baba just recalled and retraced his steps. He would just re-strategise to ensure he leave with maximum full benefits next time he "wants" to

Stop being childish jere.

I always said it made no business sense to leave now or want to leave now.

IF you were Bartomeu WHAT WOULD YOU DO sell him for FREE?
Both parties are trying to make the best BUSINESS WISE DECISION for themselves.

Going on a free transfer means MESSI MAKES MOST OF THE MONEY
Going on a fee means Barca makes money from the TRANSFER

get your head sout of thinking its all about football. THIS ARE BUSINESS ENTITIES negotiating.

Hmmmmm. If Messi does not extend you guys really want to lose him for free? Bear in mind that he staying does not guarantee anything.
I never believed he wanted to leave. The issue I have is the noise around the usual "I want to leave". After creating this much noise his only saving grace will be to win the UCL this season. BECAUSE If Messi under performs If barcelona under performs, Messi would be blamed this time around even by some of his most ardent supporters.

In the corporate world, handing a resignation letter to your current employer based on another offer letter received from a competitor is a red flag of loyalty. The management will cajole and convince you to stay back but never for mutually beneficial reasons but to hurt you. They would eventually make you redundant by getting someone to do your work. You would have lost the current offer and some one else would have learnt to do your job role before you get the boot. MESSI CASE MAY NOT BE TOTALLY SIMILAR TO THIS BUT THAT IS HOW BUSINESS WORKS

No, my brother. You are the person with little or no knowledge about how things.

To begin with, if you really do think Messi deserves to be playing in a team as shitty as Barcelona and much more, the conditions being meted out by the board to him, you need a complete system revamp.

At a particular point in your initial post, you asked whether it's the same 33 years that have less than 5 years to play in his career.... Laughing at this assumption is really an understatement. It's disgusting to say the least.

Now, to round it off, you further mentioned that Messi is to blame for the woes that beheld us in the UCL since the last four years... My question is do you even realize that it's the same Messi that delivered Liverpool, Roma, Chelsea, and Napoli on a platter? So you expect him to do more? The same 33 years old?

Mhen, in real life, I foresee you as someone who'd be very DIFFICULT to please, especially as an employer.

But before I drop mic... I have a wish for you.

Can I wish you to -

Be like Messi since the last 3 years.... Carry your organization all alone and in the end, don't get others to supplement with your superiors being as shitty as Barcelona board.
QUESTION

Is Barca shitty or Shitty because of Messi?

If you're in his shoes you won't be saying this bullshit.

Okay, let's look at copa America. VAR was introduced in the quarter finals. When Messi ad Argentina met Brazil, that match marred by wrong calls. Messi begged referee to check VAR several times. That could have changed everything.

In the 3rd place match, He got a red card when he wasn't guilty at all. Did referee check? No. He just dished out cards. Honestly, Brazil were favored. Messi was right. If you watched the competition, you'll understand.

As for his troubles with Barça, what do you expect. He has laboured, and the board keeps doing crap. He wants to leave and you're bringing some role model bullshit talk.
Guy sit down.
There is another Copa in Argentina next year.
