President Goodluck Jonathan in his speech on "One year in Office" this morning 29th day of May, 2012 named the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after the late Philantrophist, Moshood Abiola as the man who fought for the democracy we are practising today. The Late Chartered Accountant hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun state, south west of Nigeria where UNILAG is situated. The man who won the election everybody believes to be Nigeria's freest and fairest conducted. But left for me, I think schools in other parts of the country such as University of Calabar in Cross Rivers State- south-south, Federal University of Minna, Niger state-north-central etc should have been named after him if we are truly practising federalism of unity and integration as claimed by Mr. President especially this time when the nation requires harmony rather than confederal nature of federal system.
