So Wike will now use state funds to lay paving stones for a church and have the effrontery to mention it in the open? Well what will be will be. We shall know with time if God has said you will rule. |
What is the point in this write-up? Highly revered national leaders in the National Peace Committee? Who are they? Is it Abdulsalami Abubakar who has been indicted in the Halliburton scam? Are they God? PDP has to understand that days of impunity are over. We want a Nigeria where faces or class is not an issue when you are found wanting and that is what Buhari is bringing. If you are not okay or satisfied with the way it is being done, you can take it up through appropriate quarters. But not to mention that the drive should be stopped or reminding Buhari of how GEJ handed over without making trouble. What was he supposed to do after being defeated other than hand over? |
So sad. Please we should learn to lend helping hand to people with complex and not discriminate against them. I do not see anything wrong in being an albino. R.I.P Ugochukwu. |
Who will read Jonathan's book? Complete waist of time and resources. We all know: Nigeria was too big for you. You should have just said so and saved yourself and the nation this heart ache. |
omolami:Yes. As men of God as you claim, let them stay of politics. |
doublewisdom:His name is written in cow dunk. |
This is the man we voted for. |
It is only an advice. If he prefers to go through the rigours of court before leaving, that is his prerogative. |
otunsman:Are you now saying that affidavits are no longer valid in Nigeria? He submitted a valid affidavit to INEC, so INEC had no right to disqualify him. It is any aggrieved party or individual's duty to take him to court challenging the affidavit. You really need to understand how the law works. |
otunsman:My point is that, no one stops you or anyone from taking him to court for that. |
chukwudi44:Incase you are suffering from memory loss, the case of Buhari's certificate was taken to cut and there was an outcome. In the first place Buhari did not present any firged certificate to you. So if you have a problem with forged certificate, you can still go to court which is what the police IG has just done. So you should allow the law take it's natural course. And it is even childish and unreasonable to say that because Buhari forged his certificate, the Senate can forge rules. It is like saying because someone stole and was not caught or prosecuted, you are now immuned from prosecution if you are caught. |
BEVERLY HILLS, August 03, (THEWILL) – United States congressman, Rep. Darrel Edward Issah, representing California, Monday said his government would relax or completely lift the application of the Leahy Law on Nigeria, which has made it difficult for the military to get crucial weapons from the United States and its allies. THEWILL can report that the United States as well as Amnesty International both alleged human rights violations by the Nigerian military in its ongoing military operations against the Boko Haram, but the Nigerian military denies the allegations. The Leahy Law prohibits the Department of State and Department of Defence from providing military assistance to foreign military units that violate human rights. Rep. Issah, who spoke to journalists after a meeting with Service Chiefs and Ministry of Defence personnel in Abuja, said the reversal of the Law on Nigeria followed the policy of the new military command with regards to the ongoing military operations in the country. “There were a number of things that were discussed at the meeting but basically the need for additional technical support including overhead surveillance. This was discussed because it is important in the fight against Boko Haram. “This is because of the trust in the new regime which has began the process of ensuring that the military’s professionalism in the battle field is made in a way that we all can be confident that the rule of law is followed. “Following this development, we have began the process of lifting restriction under the Leahy Law but the vast majority of the support U.S. provides will be given regardless of the restrictions,’’ he said. Issah added that the U.S. would provide other forms of support that would not only boost the military’s capabilities but would also create the environment to rebuild devastated communities. He said the U.S. through its agencies in Nigeria would help rebuild and rehabilitate communities and victims of insurgency in the northeast. “We are looking forward to working with the President and the military to rebuild the confidence of the people of Nigeria in the professionalism of the military. “To make the military something that the people will rely on as the nation tries to clear insurgents and protect the civilians; that is important to the new president of Nigeria, our president and it is also important to the congress. “But we are looking forward to a great difference in the relationship, a proactive relationship and one in which we can provide a greater level of support,’’ he said. On his part, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Mr. Ismaila Aliyu, said the visit was a sign of the renewed confidence in Nigeria’s military on the global scene. He said Nigeria now enjoyed a greater level of confidence and trust in the international community, stressing that it would impact positively on the nation’s efforts in repositioning its economy. “The U.S. believes in Nigeria, they have trust and confidence in Nigeria, that is why they are here. On the issue of human rights, the U.S. is pleased with what we have been doing in recent times to address the gaps that may have existed in the past. “This visit is a follow up to Mr. President’s visit to the U.S., we have said it and will continue to state that the visit was of great benefit to Nigeria, it has rekindled confidence in the relations between the two countries,’’ he said. NAN reports that Issah led a delegation from the U.S. congress judicial committee to the meeting with Nigeria’s top ranking defence officials. Other issues that dominated discussions between officials of the two countries include justice reforms and support for devastated communities, among others. http://thewillnigeria.com/news/united-states-to-relax-leahy-law-on-nigeria-congressman/ |
And what is wrong with that? We have christian religious knowledge in those schools. |
Nigeria we hail thee!!! When someone has stolen money and is asked to account for it, it becomes a witch hunt. |
God will help him to deliver. |
Nonsense |
Kill them all. |
Fake news. |
dexpee4life:Which Rivers people? Talk for yourself abeg. |
I do not agree with you on this. You have to pay them their salary. If for any reason you cannot. Kindly plead with them. You cannot threaten people you are owing. |
Get well soon. You will not go abroad. Use our hospital like that. It should be fit for you. |
Who is supposed to pay the money before? Is it Okorocha? It is Rivers states responsibility. So what is the big deal? |
Were you under a spell when you signed? That means you guys do not know the job of lawmakers. You are supposed to have done your checks before signing. That is why people like you should not be Lawmakers. Bunch of clowns. |
I will kill that man straight away. Not worth living. To an ill 2 year old girl? |
Encouraging! |
Get well soon and prepare for your case. You really need to be fit. |
As for me and my house we will follow Baba Go Slow |
Does PDP still exist? |
FowlYansh:What stupidity? This guy is an American Football player. Please try and get some sense. How do you relate this to someone who has looted public funds? There still people who made their money genuinely. |
I do not agree that looters should return their loot and go free. What will serve as deterrent to intending looters? After returning the loot, they should go to jail. Maybe you can give them less sentence. If returning the loot is the only punishment, then I will try my luck. Who knows? I may not be caught. |
chukwudi44:You are talking out of your imagination. When the clerk and Ekweremadu were invited by the police they denied tampering with the document. Here you are saying it is the clerk's prerogative. Each incoming senate uses an existing house rule which can only be changed by an already agreed process during the life of the new senate. |
I do not see the point here. Saraki is an APC senator. You can be called on at anytime to answer for your crime. If GEJ decided not to, that is his business. |
