It is a great initiative that will reduce cost. bellyjean: One can see that those 11 states are linked by rail.
This is a good initiative though, but one can see that it is almost dead on arrival. Why incorporate inefficient government agencies and trade unions into this? Bureaucracy will be the stumbling block to its success. This should have been a private- public partnership thing; like 75% driven by private institutions because this is the real way to maximise the value chain. You create wealth and empower people by encouraging entrepreneurship.
Well I hope this succeeds because it is a big move. |

The Central Bank is actually doing a great job of enforcing the rules. If indeed MTN was guilty of the accusations, it would have very negative consequences if they are not sanctioned. Donald95: I know Nizoorian government never want the good of the people. They are seriously frustrating MTN to leave the country. But later the fools will be jumping from one place to the other looking for investors.

The CBN's actions will ensure there is adequate forex supply for businesses and individuals looking to make international transactions, in effect keeping prices of essential goods and services under control. I don't see how that is a bad thing. Nackzy: They'll continue enriching some persons at the expense of Nigerians I wish it was a saner clime |

Economic management in a recession is not as straightforward as theoretical economics would have people believe. It's best to look at outcomes in deciding if an approach worked. In this case, as multiple data has confirmed that the Nigerian economy has returned to growth, we can conclude that the Central Bank's economic management approach works. |

The OP has resided some salient points about the reserves being built at a time when the exchange rate could be better. But by suggesting that the CBN should instead focus on improving the exchange rate, the OP makes the terrible error of putting the chart before the horse. In fact building the forex reserves is helping to restore market and investor confidence which will eventually improve the exchange rate situation. |
