ubandire: Has any previous administration In this country taken out time to sensitize the people on projects being executed, there's so much transparency in this GEJ led govt, that u tend to forget u are actually in Nigeria,a very clear departure from the past, when govt brandished achievements only on paper.Nigeria is on the right track. GEJ will be remembered for his good work |
Splendid and I must confess I am genuinely impressed by the steps of transformation taken by the GEJ Administration. However, more needs to be done to win the support of and affection of Nigerians if he is to win a 2nd term in office. |
dedeike: I have resolved to abandon the ongoing EPL match to discharge an overwhelming social responsibility to deliver some people from ignorance. This is a sacrifice I have to make in the interest of nation building.Bros, you are seriously on point. @Jp PHILIPS, face the issues raised in dedeinke's Comment and stop beating about the bush.i have read all your comments and his. He floored you squarely. Of particular importance to me is the fact the so called power stations started working under Jonathan. You have not disproved this fact. You also equated SWF with ECA and he taught you the difference. He gave us links in support of his argument, you provided none apart from insults. Be serious bro. |
Wishful thinking Nigerians are surely coming to terms with who our enemies really are.Keep on exposing ur devilish selves. |
kingoflag: Dude, Maryland, DC, Cali..... Corrruption, Life Term-disguised-as-single-term tenure, Refusal To declare assets..... All the same shiyyyt!!!!Corruption is a global phenomenon and it will be foolhardy to think of it as being peculiar to Nigeria. Even in the so-called developed world, corruption played a major role in plunging the world into a financial crisis of global proportions. That said, I think that Nigerians have had a rough deal at the hands of successive administrations and it did not begin with GEJ. No leader is perfect but leadership is all about providing solutions to problems and any objective mind will agree that power is crucial and central to development, job creation, better healthcare delivery and educational research. If GEJ is able to bring about transformation in the power sector, a large chunk of the Nation's problems will be solved. Besides, this administration is clearly changing the way government works to reduce and fight corruption and the subsidy issue is a clear case in this regard. |
Babaji111: I think the job of a president is not only to improve electricity...provision of job opportunities, security, good road network, education, agriculture..etc So, I think I cannot vote for him...not only him, any PDP candidate even my own blood brother if he is PDP. They are all the same...nothing to write home about. Let them take lessions from Fashola, Imo state Governor..em..em wetin be em name sef?The power problem is central to every other sector of the economy and improving Power supply will boost industrialization and provide millions of jobs thru small and medium scale enterprises. If indeed GEJ succeeds in providing power supply for an average of 18-20 hours a day in over 75-80 % of the Federation, he'd have made history as Nigeria's best ever President. The good part is that itbis very much achieveable. As for your anti- PDP leaning, it would interest you to note that the best Governors in the land are still from the PDP fold. Akpabio and Amaechi are doing exceedingly well and remain a model for others. Power is crucial for development in all facets of life and if it can be realised, then don't blame anyone who decides to vote for GEJ 20 times over. |
truth4meal: its either GEJ has doubled the laptop guys or doubled their pay. I wonder how much ur conscience is worth that makes ur future so cheap. Carry go jawe El-RufaiSo, that is what it is all about? My friend, rise above this kind of shallow and divisive thinking. Any one who doesnt criticise government senselessly is a laptop guy. |
Kobojunkie: I have not said anything about Boko Haram myself except for criticizing the Government's handling of the situation. Am I also still a Boko Haram supporter then?Kobojunkie, you are not a leading, "fire-spitting Pentecostal Preacher" with wide following all over the Country. The major casualties of the sect's activities are Christians and their places of worship. Surely, a vocal Preacher like Bakare will not turn a blind eye to the suffering inflicted on his fellow Christians unless of course he has some sympathy for their cause. |
Demdem: Anyone who thinks Bakare's vocal condemnation of evil Boko will end this menace is just being sttupid. those who also believe that Bakare's comments will caution the group are simply just daft. so whats the point? We have a leader who has with him a list of the sects sponsors and has refused to do anything about it till date yet some peeps just like chasing shadows. No one is insinuating by any stretch of imagination that Bakare's condemnation of BH will bring it to an end but Christian and Muslim religious leaders all over the Country have variously spoken against the sect and their murderous activities and being one of the most outspoken "men of God" in the Country, it will be absurd for him not to be an outspoken critic of BH. |
maclatunji: Figures do not mean anything when your electricity is still unstable and unreliable. The solution is to dispose of PHCN and its successor companies to competent private companies in a properly regulated market as soon as possible. You guys keep coming-up with these threads but I still had to use my generator last night. So what on earth are your yapping about?Dear Hater, we are witnessing remarkable improvement in power supply and testimonies are coming in from all over the Country. The issue is to sustain the reforms. Barth Nnaji and this administration are doing well with power and with the unbundling of the distribution process, things are set to improve. |
onatisi: why are ppl jubilating ,the guy said power GENERATION THAT DOESNT MEAN IT IS BEEN DISTRIBUTED EFFECTIVELY,what about effective power distribution wht is the purpose of having 50000mgw and yet not been able to distribute it to ppl,nd for those jubilting do you know the power genertion of ghana for just 26million ppl ?or that of sa?we should be ashamed nigeria should have passed the stage of jubliating of 6kmw when smaller countries are already on 16 to 20kmw and yet not satisfied and they re not jubilatingThis is not just about figures. We are witnessing actual improvement in power supply and we are sure it is not happening by chance. Somebody is behind it and credit must be given when due. The power reform programme is ongoing and I believe Barth Nnaji can see it thru. |
Elueme: @OP , how could you condescend so low to lie to our responsible and integrity driven Nigerians on a hot afternoon like this? I know you have to impress your paymaster but you don't have resort to cheap blackmail cos you will look most foolish now.. I took time to peruse the achievements the said dedeike listed and Enugu-Portharcourt route isn't among the lists. The roads being massively constructed in the East oneofwhich is almost complete is Onitsha-Enugu and Owerri Portharcourt routes among others.. The said contract for the road you falsely accused dedeike for was awarded recently and some has started though not massive.. Please verify your facts.. This is my problem with some of you.. You mk your propaganda so cheap that you always look stupid in the end. You have ne'er won any debate logically.. The problem is most onlookers ll easily fall your victim cos of the disaffection they have on past Nigerian leaders but the earlier we understand that this admin mean well the better for the country.. In the meantime enjoi the fresh airSo much lies, blackmail, propaganda on Nairaland. |
kingoflag: Laptop #16, you really think anyone is going to read the trash you posted up there?Having a morbid fear of learning and an even greater disdain for truth, it is no surprise that you have blinded your eyes to the obvious and chosen not to believe. But if you must prove yourself to be rational and educated, the onus lies on you to disprove what has been said. If you cannot do that, shut the Zap up |
Gudiza: Dude, the 'real' arsenal players are in HongKong China with Wenger. Watched them played an exhibition game today against one of the host nation clubs , ended 2-2.And these ones are fake abi? Idio.t |
dedeike: Mr fool. You should be very ashamed of yourself. When you try to distort facts, you should bear in mind that we are in a google world where people can resort to for verification of facts. Bros dedeike, please take it easy with these dullards. They are at the lowest ebb of the intelligence line. |
Kobojunkie: How can electricity improve whenThe truth is that the major problem in the power sector is not generation but distribution. Only last month, the Abia State govt provided a framework for distribution from the Afam plant. Today, Umuahia and environs enjoy atleast 18-22 hours of power supply everyday. This is verifiable. The truth remains that the FG's achievements in power over the last one year represents a quantum leap in Power generation and distribution. Unbundling of the distribution process is on course with the registration of 18 new firms to fastrack the distribution process via the bulk purchase trading agreement. A lot more can still be done and GEJ still has the better part of 3 yrs to consolidate on these gains. Let's keep faith with this administration. It is better for all of us that he succeeds. Anything else will set us back a great deal. |
1supremo: Nigerian Youths are the most Cheated and Marginalised in the World. Thanks to the presidency. Thanks to yourself not the president. |
GEJ promised transformation. Transformation can never come easily. To transform means to change the form and shape of so many things. In the process, there has to be a visible change in established practices. There has to be a change in attitude. There has to be a change in prevailing market price of so many things. There has to be change in strategy. That is what we are seeding today. It's never going to be easy. But we will get there |
dedeike: You re the one that God will forgive for being a silly and self serving hypocrite. what do you mean by talking about security? Because your colleagues in Boko Haram are throwing bombs at us then Gej should not repair roads in the Niger Delta? You want the entire business of governance to come to a halt so that we can talk only about Boko Haram? You have shown how much of an idiotic President you will be, if we ever have the misfortune of electing you as President.these GEJ haters are so annoying. |
dedeike: See the kettle calling the pot black. Imagine El rufai attacking Reno on snubbing Nigerians.Sometime in Febuary, I mentioned El rufai on twitter with this tweet "sir, how do you manage to be on twitter always it appears you're jobless" the next thing he did was to block me from following him. I was surprised that someone who prides himself as a democrat could be so intolerant to opposing tweets. Since that time, I have lost any respect and confidence I had for him. It shows how much of a dictator he could be if given the power to lead. That little encounter shows that if El Rufai were to be GEJ, he would have clamped down on dissenting opinions on social media. SMH. |
How come this story which is a routine exercise by FCTA officials in Abuja get to the front page? I will not be surprised that these ACN goons on this forum will roll out the red carpet to celebrate Fashola for clearing make shift structures in computer village. This is the hype that has surrounded fashola's second term in office. |
BEAF is a Nairaland god? Peerless |
Gbawe: You guys can display sycophantic obeisance all you want but it will all amount to nada because not even one of you is robustly well-read or intelligent enough to know that evolution always wins and that nature abhors a vacuum i.e Nigeria in a West Africa increasingly being defined by meritocratic leadership borne of the uncompromising demand from a more enlightened and very impatient populace.Rant all you can with your verbose copy and paste posts but the truth remains that even as your own quote states; "ordinary folks becoming better educated and more sophisticated has defeated the wicked system........" and you consider the madness you have ranted above as a sign of better education and sophistication? I really hope you get a life soon cos you are fast degenerating into a robot of sorts spewing forth trash at the slighest hint of sound reasoning. I fear for you. Seriously!! ![]() |
Gbawe: Another emasculated fool now turned obsessed stalker. An article is submitted ,with relevant link, and no opinion whatsoever from the OP and you launch a rabid attack against the thread starter like a scorned and conquered biatch. Who cannot guess, with your shameless conduct here, that you have groupie and stalking 'issues'? What is wrong with you?"Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise." Gbawe has sought to create for himself on Nairaland an enclave where ignorance will provide bliss for his continued folly. His efforts are being frustrated by those trying to educate him ![]() |
That Sahara Reporters represents the worst of gutter journalism is a thinly veiled fact. I think we should blame the I.diot who posted this link as part of a series of calculated attempts to disparage GEJ. The more they try, the more they blatantly display their ignorance and s.tupidity. |
Again Wole Soyinka has demonstrated his usual fearlessness and firm resolve to stand for what is right. I think that the crux of this article is his unreserved praise for the outstanding performance of the Akpabio administration in Akwa Ibom State. Like all right thinking Nigerians, Soyinka has downplayed the importance conferred on Dame Patience's appointment by gutter tabloids and opposition elements. The truth is that the issue should never even have been an issue for National discourse as it is trivial, mundane and irrelevant to the general outlook of the Nation's administration and the scant attention Soyinka gives the issue is an example for all Nigerians. |
berem: na wetin patience given oga shoyinka chop?I think that Soyinka as always has spoken in line with proper reasoning,,the law of the land and mostbimportantly the dictates of his conscience as he has been known to over the years. I |
Many Nigerians fail to remember that democracy is not an end in itself but a means to an end; good governance, justice, peace and ultimately development which is a function of the aforementioned. Secondly, democracy, of all the modes of government known to mankind remains the best form of government. Whether we agree or not the truth remains that in the dark days of the military especially between 1983-1999, this Country went several years backwards. Since, the return to democracy in 1999, the PDP has continued to provide leadership for the Country. Given the preceding sixteen years of uninterrupted military despotism by the Buhari, IBB and Abacha regimes, democratic culture is still evolving and is fraught with challenges and limitations like every human institution. Whatever the reservations any person or group of persons may have with the leadership of the PDP at Federal level, the truth remains that it could have been worse. The performance of the opposition controlled states have been almost pathetic as can be examplified from the abysmal performances of the then AD controlled States particularly in the South-West between 1999-2003. The class of Akande(Osun), Adesina(Oyo), Adebayo(Ekiti), Osoba(Ogun) and Tinubu(Lagos) were largely disappointing and this perhaps explains why they were eased out of power in the 2003 general elections except of course with the exception of Tinubu. Since 1999 till date it is on record that the best performing State Governors have always been from the PDP; Donald Duke(Cross River), Chimaroke Nnamani(Enugu) Adamu Muazu(Bauchi) who all did exceptionally well were all of the PDP. On taking over the helm of affairs in 2003, Ayo Fayose re-defined governance in Ekiti after the State went comatose under his ad predecessor, Adebayo. Governor Danjuma Goje(Gombe) also engineered a turnaround of the fortunes of his State from the decay that characterised the State under the previous ANPP administration under Hashidu. With the achievements of Goje, Saraki, Muazu, Yar'Adua, Duke, and even among the present crop, Akpabio, Amaechi, Lamido have all stood out as distinguished performers. The truth remains that there is no evidence to show that the opposition parties would have been able to provide direction and stability in government at the Federal level. By a long shot, both at the state and Federal levels, PDP has remained the bedrock of the Country's democracy and will remain so for a long time to come. |
superior1: The pains will translate into benefits for us all in due course. The challenge may seem daunting but we as a people are more than capable of prevailing over the challenges and limitations of Government and the developmental strides of the govt will pay of soon. Critical reforms in power, transportation, agriculture and economy will yield results soon. |
In all fairness to Mr. President, during the electioneering period, Boko Haram and it's insurgency where not on the front burner of National discourse. The central issues bothered on unemployment, wealth creation, diversification of the economy, etc and accordingly, these were the issues among the candidates. The magnitude that the Boko Haram has assumed since GEJ's administration is both worrisome and alarming. Boko Haram is not just a problem for the President. It's a collective responsibility. |
I pledge my unalloyed support. |
No doubt, the committee has made some brilliant recommendations and some others that I personally do not agree with. The truth however is that whatever recommendations are made will still be subjected to legislative scrutiny for them to become valid laws. It is an open secret that the office of the First Lady is alien to our Constitution but the idea took its roots from the dark days of military dictatorship and despotism. Sadly, civilian administrations have continued to sustain the flair, glamour and flamboyance of the President's spouse. The first lady "syndrome" appears to be stronger in Countries that practice presidential system of govt. We can however take a cue from the American system where the first lady attends to mainly social events without a coterie of expensively assembled and sustained aides, special advicers and hangers-on all sponsored at the expense of the state. We can do without that. |
Rochas Okorocha and others but few.
Na so dem take tell us say refinery capacity don grow, only for us to now find out say two refineries don stop since January and the one's wey dey work, dey work at about 25%, about the same levels as back in 2005, before the government embarked on spending billions of dollars to improve capacity oo.
I really hope you get a life soon cos you are fast degenerating into a robot of sorts spewing forth trash at the slighest hint of sound reasoning. I fear for you. Seriously!!
