@Indeyes Wow,thanks for your contribution.i'm quite sure that those fashion freebies will be very much appreciated when we start off with the quiz and fashion shows. i was also bored during this subsidy protest period that i visited here every hour. |
my little cute Nephew who arrived yesterday 12pm,12/01/2012 . A very special baby wouldn't you say.
|
@BABE! yea,it quite occurred to me earlierthat the NLC ,SUBSIDY strike could have been the reason for the lack of contribution or excitement. no problems, the idea will be stalled for now. |

you've got to love this black floral dress on Kerry Washington. (sorry for the blurry image) anyways,a dress like that on a dark skin ,creating a nice slim silhouette, she definitely pulled it off.

what US store sells affordable pants/trousers for tall women (5'11ft to 6ft)in height , or pants/trousers with in-seam of 34,35,36, inches. different colours of pants, and trendy ones, office pants too. on your site. |

@WAVixen why dont you handle the NL fashion show. the format you announce a creative fashion theme for the week and posters can post a picture that best describes the theme. it will have to be one poster one picture, once a week.it could be a picture of what the poster is putting on or something worn by a model, celebrity etc anyone. then after the pictures have come in we take another week or say three days for other posters to vote for the best picture on the thread.(this part i think is where BABE! comes in ,she is the moderator after all)then once the voting is over the winner/poster is announced & immediately the next theme for the fashion show is also announced. @BABE! ,WAVixen i need help for the criteria, rules and guidelines.ladies figure out something so this doesn't flop, and everyone is happy.(no cheating) |
My team and I? Errr, I'm the only active moderator for this section. Presently, there's no team. I'm riding solo. Fantastic ideas Miss! Whenever you're ready to start executing, inform me. I'd be glad to work with you.
ok i think w can start a new thread/topic on the fashion quiz, and another for the show . but both will have rules, and i'm still thinking of the format for the show.any suggestions will be appreciated here. |
@Justwise its nothing personal,i'm just thinking out loud. |
stop the hate on singles. . if one decides to remain unmarried, then other people should "respect" their choice of being single. |
is it me or is the fashion section of this forum becoming a little bit boring. @ BABE! i was going to say that ,may be you & your team can start some thing here to spice up this section. for example; 1. A fashion Quiz.- where you post a list of fashion related quiz everyday and at the end of each week ,the poster with the highest scores wins. 2. NL fashion show- posters can post a picture per week which best describes the fashion theme for that week. say "office" for instance or "cocktail" ,"soul train" etc. there will be rules and guide lines but the best pic wins for that week. so BABE! what do you think? |
Is it me or is this fashion section of the forum becoming boring? @BABE! So i was thinking we should do something on the forum to get more posters here and make it exciting. for example 1. A Fashion Quiz- where you post a list of Fashion related quiz everyday, any poster with the highest scores at the end of the week becomes the winner. 2. NL Fashion Show- where a member is allowed to post a picture of the outfit they are putting on that best describes the theme for the week.(one picture per member per week) the theme could be anything "office", "cocktail party" anything. (of course the moderator will set the rules for the show) and the best outfit for the week wins. |
marriage is seriously over-rated ,especially amongst Nigerians. you need to see the look on the faces of some Nigerian people i know when you tell them things like; "oh,thats my boss , or thats my sister" and then they go asking "why isn't she married" what kind of a dumb question is that. .?! like she/ he has to be married to fit into your list of "responsible " ,"successful" ,and " happy" people. ![]() |

i'm sure we've all heard it before "train a child in the way he/she should grow and she will not depart from it" if she wants her child "never" to marry a Nigerian man due to their culture or ways in which they value a spouse ,then she should start to guide her early in the direction she thinks is right for her in selecting a the right spouse. i rest my case. . . but really marriage is not everything, dont do it because everyone else is . . for goodness sake,it shouldn't be torture. |
@Justwise when it comes to making marriage decisions. two things 1. Choice; Yes the parent (regardless of their educational back ground ) doesnt have the right to choose for the adult child who to marry 2. Decision you said it yourself, the child should be allowed to decide who to marry. Now the role of the parent here,is to guide the adult right from his child hood in the right direction to make good choices in life that way they can make an "INFORMED" decision on what race, tribe, religion or who to marry. i still maintain that this is not dictating. |
@Justwise Give me a break. what she said has nothing to do with being educated or not. some parents may have been through a lot of trauma either as a child growing up and watching one of the parent being battered/abused. or as a spouse going through the same torture in the hands of the other spouse and would go to any length to protect their children from going through the same mistakes or even worse ones. i wouldn't call that dictating to your child. |
"PEOPLE WHO HAD LACK OF LOVE IN A MARRIAGE HAD IT BEFORE THEY EVEN ENTERED IT" @Mrs. .Chima thats where you are wrong. i have seen relationships that had real love long before they even got married and few years into the marriage the marriage collapses , either because one stops loving the other,or for one reason or the other that isn't "trivial". |
@Mrs. Chima as much i still agree with you,i wouldnt want the issue or topic at hand to be derailed (talking about divorce) thats a different issue entirely. btw ,where would you classify ; 1. Love/or lack of it in a marriage 2. Infedility ? ? ? ? |
my pretty little inquisitive,curious neice.
|
@Mrs.Chima no doubt,i agree with you. but what do you say to people who place their happiness in the hands of that "special someone" to come & marry them, thinking that is what ends it all. i think marriage is just the begining of all your problems especially when you dont have the right mind-set towards it. |
so far, this new year alone ,all i hear from friends & families even girls i dont even know that well is "i just want to get married" " infact it has to be this year" "i'm just looking for someone that will come & marry me so i can start having a family, all my mates are married" "i really need to get married this year,i'm not getting any younger" "if i was married & living in my husband's house ,people, especially my families & friends will begin to give me the respect i deserve" so i ask- when did marriage become a yard stick in measuring one's life achievements and success? ![]() |
