Ilorin never "belonged" to any one ethnic group as it has always been a multi-ethnic city and by extension, Kwara has always been a multi-ethic state belonging to no one group or people. The area known today as Kwara was always more Northern in culture, religion, heritage and world view.

Due to the marginalization done by ancient Oyo, many of those Oyo subjects, who had Yoruba language imposed on them began to move North in search of freedom from the overbearing Oyo Empire. As such, they found refuge in what we now call Kwara, this migration raised the number of Yoruba speaking tribes relative to the number of Hausa and Fulani speaking tribes already in the area.

Afonja, although not Fulani, had called his Fulani brothers, who he felt a closer link to, in order to free Kwara from Oyo. If we look at history in its proper context we see that Kwara is truly a multi-ethnic state and we should stop trying to divide that state by claiming it is part of this or that, when Kwara has already decided that it is comfortable with its historic home and that is with the Sokoto Caliphate.

1. Our banks are not capable of handling the volumes of daily FX exchanges over the counter yet. From experience, I can assure you that banks are still struggling with handling, reporting and managing Form As, Form Ms, BTA and PTA requests.
2. All countries have BDC (ALL), what most of them have just done is put the strategic managements under financial institutions. If would have been better if there is a roadmap to allow banks take over these BDCs first before this outright ban.
3. With the CBN's $100 FX limit on cards, expect people to hoard their dollars more which will put more strain on naira.
4. BDCs today are the number 1 agents of controlling (mobbing up and selling dollar into the economy), with most items off out Form M list, these guys are provide the dollars that most businesses use to import their foreign materials.

Emefiele for me has been the most questionable CBN Gov., his policies are questionable and his way of reasoning quite archaic. I'm certain he has some funny reasons behind this but I'm not sure it was well thought through.

We didn’t want to remove subsidies now look at where we are today, banking has evolved and still evolving tremendously. I’m not an economist but I know digital banking is outgrowing conventional models at a crazy pace currently. Nigeria has to get with the program for its own sake. As a highly corrupt nation simultaneously battling terrorism, inflow and outflow of funds has to be keenly monitored. BDCs have had a good run and it’s time to be flushed out because saying you want to regulate them wouldn’t work. You would recall that recently, many BDCs operators of northern origins were nabbed in UAE or so and are being tried. For a bigoted, nepotistic government like this to even approve of this, such cases must have been really bad. These guys have funded terrorism using their channels for almost two decades. Bro, the disadvantages outweigh the positives. There are several channels to transact nowadays on international levels where nature of transactions can be well understood by the authorities.
