NaijirianKing: Your attempt at revisionism is so silly. Do you know how many Alaafins were buried in what's known as Kwara today before Alimi even got invited in by Solagberu? The Hausa population that existed prior to that were slaves performing hard labor in Ilorin. Ilorin history preceded Afonja. Before him was Laderin, Pasin, Ojo Isekuse. Fulani history in Ilorin started with Alimi and he was a trader in Ogbomosho an outskirt town before Solagberu whom was a traveler an trader also told Afonja about him. The first settler of a place are the aboriginals and obvious owner of such. The only thing was that kingship wasn't what was practiced in the place then since it was a vassal state to Oyo. Cowardly and covetous backstabbers like Alimi' son just wanted what wasn't theirs. Indoctrinated the people, assassinated an aged Afonja then cooked up a strife with Solagberu so as to eliminate him too. By the way, Ilorin didn't get its Emirate status from Sokoto. She got her flag from Gwadu and it wasn't called Emir of Ilorin. The first Emir was christened Oba of Yoruba (documented). That is to let you know that those who created the stool knew whom the people truly were. 1 Like |

KazikageSama: I support you idea of a roadmap before phasing out. But, this people have made banks redundant. Our banks performed these roles effectively with minimal hiccups even when fintechs haven't sprouted up this much. These guys are conduits for terrorism funding, money laundering and all. Nigeria has always been a perculiar country in the sense that roadmaps are often filled with bumps, they harly works. Vision 2020 was a roadmap, here are we today? Subsidy removal was a roadmap, how far today? BDCs have outlive their usefulness in a digitized financial industry of today. It archaic as practiced here. I trust the banks will evolve and innovate well enough to help us meet our present needs. These cartels gotta go. |

Resurgent2016: I understand your point but we can’t keep feeding a snake and not expect it to consume us. The problem with us Nigerians is that we look at things short-term too much. We didn’t want to remove subsidies now look at where we are today, banking has evolved and still evolving tremendously. I’m not an economist but I know digital banking is outgrowing conventional models at a crazy pace currently. Nigeria has to get with the program for its own sake. As a highly corrupt nation simultaneously battling terrorism, inflow and outflow of funds has to be keenly monitored. BDCs have had a good run and it’s time to be flushed out because saying you want to regulate them wouldn’t work. You would recall that recently, many BDCs operators of northern origins were nabbed in UAE or so and are being tried. For a bigoted, nepotistic government like this to even approve of this, such cases must have been really bad. These guys have funded terrorism using their channels for almost two decades. Bro, the disadvantages outweigh the positives. There are several channels to transact nowadays on international levels where nature of transactions can be well understood by the authorities. I hope this overhaul is effectively done. The financial markets will heal itself as long as our institutions keep innovating. 4 Likes |

limeta: They have nothing to point to. Just rabid, irrational angst towards people of other faith. If they knew better, they would be protecting Christians forever because even when Mohammed and his followers where being persecuted in Mecca, they fled to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) for safety. The Christian king Negus provided sanctuary for them. Today these people pick fights with Christians needlessly. What a pity. 1 Like |

Hangmnk: That is not the point. Afenifere didn't insult Mohammed. It was a comparison of struggles two humans faced at different times. So what's the fuss about? Christians should be ordinarily more pissed for that foolishness said by MURIC. Jesus is more than human to Christians, He is a Deity. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Is this not the height of hypocrisy seeing all these clowns having hard ons over Afenifere's comment? Some weeks ago, fanatical Akintola of MURIC likened Buhari to our Lord Jesus Christ. Primate Ayodele needed to voice out his displeasure of such statement. Sahara reporter is yet to take down that post neither did MURIC apologize for their tasteless comments. Why the hell are they all now mad over comparison made between Igboho and Mohammed? Aren't both humans? 2 Likes

Wickedfact: Thank you. In fact I'm happy with these happenings. It has opened another phase of inter relationship between Yoruba in Benin and Yoruba. This is a momentum that should be sustained and nurtured. |

Monogamy: Lol that's diplomacy and non-aligned tactics. Benin Republic would have sent him here since if they do not hold a protective obligatorily view. They will never send him to Nigeria. Obviously they have a proper understanding of the issues than before now. They know he is being unjustly persecuted and are aware that these demons that call themselves FG have less than 3 years to go. Thinking they would strain their relationship with Yorubas who are mostly their kith is impossible. They must however not appear to be on his side to the press outrightly like that. Igboho will be most likely sentence there but it's actually to indirectly offer him protection & mild exile. By the time Buhari and his minions fizzle out, he will return more popular, loved and influential than ever before. He's going to be a guest of Benin government for now. 3 Likes |

DoggoneDogg: You are a mumu man. Name one Nigerian political elite today that has not had a sting with prison. Is it Obj, is it Tinubu that fled from Abacha? Is it your foolish Buhari himself? Get some sense, even the likes of Mandela spent almost two decades in it. That is the reality of the Africa state vis-a-vis one's quest for freedom. Grow the hell up clown. 8 Likes 1 Share |

seunmsg: Who forced them? You must be selectively ignorant. What happened to those who chose to operate without these guys in the past? GoOkada, Opay, struggling Uber/Taxify? They didn’t find it funny with numerous harassments by miscreants on the street daily & unfriendly policies aimed at pacifying NURTW cacus. We want to have a sane transport system like it’s obtainable in the west but keep encouraging drunks to regulate who does business on our roads? Yet, you desire a mega city? Mehn, you guys are superbly dull no offence. |

PlayerMeji: Aren’t those essentially spices? Benue State was a model for what good production was supposed to be about. Nearly all families had farming on a commercial scale going on until these bastards marauding killer herders compromised everything. |

GeneralPula: Mumu trying to drag Christianity into the mix. Present me any publication that says those allegedly arrested were Christians or shut your a$$-mouth up forever. Thinking backward like a lowlife. gungab: Igboho and Koiki dem knows better. They use WhatsApp to communicate. FG doesn’t have the capacity to breach it. I have always advocated for darkweb communication channels. These guys with their silly mistakes make Nigerian government which is below average look like they have sophisticated technology which they don’t. Igboho can’t say he didn’t envisage that the government would come after him. |

oluztx: He had that interview with BBC in DSS lodge? Go on, you are making sense. |

FarahAideed: I swear to God. If this turns out to be true, then his confidants, especially the educated ones are super brainless. FG wanted him to move from his safe haven & he did? That’s unthinkable. If I were him, I’d stay in a spot for one year or more straight. These guys will be consumed by election next year, they’ll have so much to lose. Why gift them this leverage? 2 Likes |

7lives: Foolish talks. Did you or your father stand up for Gani Fawehinmi when he was being thrown in jails or when Fela’s mom was being dropped from the balcony? Did you protest against any of Fela’s unjust detentions? You are an irredeemable coward making stoopid excuses. What you are doing now is still the same you would do even if your father is being defiled. Just as MKO’s son is an advocate of One Nigeria now. Try not to infect your kids with cowardly genes you spineless bstard. 3 Likes |

If this is true, then the people Igboho surrounded himself are highly tactless to have even attempted fleeing via an airport, especially an ECOWAS airport right after what they’ve seen happened with Kanu & how these countries can be easily cowered into compliance. That’s a self inflicted foolishness. Exactly what I said the government wanted him to do some days ago when they said they knew his location which they obviously didn’t. They only wanted him to make a move & commit silly blunders like this. This is depressing. |

This is where I love the Igbo spirit. They would raise this money without battling an eye for these heroic sons but watch how my wealthy Yoruba brothers & mothers watch as these guys languish in detention for inability to meet up. |
