Yes, law is easy when compared with some courses.

As a law graduate that you are, you should have asked her why she said what she said or asked her the courses she claimed are harder than law.
The manner in which you responded just proved her right.
Person talk wetin you no like, next thing na curse you think sey be the right thing.

Personally, I don't see law as a challenging course.
You can't compare it with the likes of medicical courses, industrial chemistry, biochemistry, geology, physics and electronics, most engineering courses, industrial mathematics, statistics, economics, ICT courses and so on.

Anybody with good retentive memory can graduate from law department with a very good grade but that is not the case in some of those courses I mentioned above.

Reason is because they are more practical than theoretical. Unlike law which is more theoretical.
Law is advanced Philosophy.

Although I wouldn't say law is an easy subject, it is a sophisticated philosophy, like advanced Philosophy, Aside its noble nature. Law is incredibly simple when compared to the sciences. All of it revolves around cramming pages and chapters of books. The same cant be said about fields of study in the sciences such as applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, industrial chemistry, and architecture. Problem-solving efforts may drive you insane.

Just ask your Oba to mess up, he will be dethroned and nothing will happen.

Your Oba was bundled like a common thief by the colonizers and your juju didn’t do shit.

The way you lot believe in nonsense spirituality or juju is appalling.

FYI, Kings are now under the administration of Local Government and the people who made the laws have kings in their respective states. so a governor is even too far.
Oba of Benin be dethroned? How?? The Benin Oba and the enogies of Esan are born, not made! The worst case scenario is that their allowances and fees will be taken away and they will be suspended. No governor would even consider doing it. Except he does not want to live to enjoy his loots.

Since its inception, the Benin throne has always been held by a single bloodline; not even the King's forced abdication of the kingdom could cause it to veer off course. By refraining from roforofo political battles in light of their meager gains, the Oba of Binis maintains their own dignity.

PoliticsYorubas, The Ibos Are Not Your Problem by Vado2(op): 9:18pm On Mar 26, 2023
I've read a lot of things written about the Ibos by Yorubas that have completely shocked me, and I've also heard some pretty funny things said about them. Ibos are not your problem, Yorubas; your problem is YOU. Why do other tribes not criticize the Ibos, exactly? Although there are many Ibos in the South-South, nobody cares about them because everyone is too busy to give a damn. However, since many of you are jobless, you have plenty of time to consider other people's affairs.

The Awolowos and Alhaji Lateef Jakande, two Yoruba national heroes, would be turning in their graves if they could see what the typical Yoruba youth has developed into today.

Many of the able-bodied youths engage in thuggery or "Alayeism," sometimes known as begging. If that isn't the case, then it's either con or skit making . They no longer engage in vocations that have dignity. Where are the Yoruba who used to be high flyers??

When I went to see a friend over the weekend in a Yoruba-dominated clan, guess what I saw? Able-bodied young men wasting their lives on the streets by acting like touts, begging, and the likes. Get something doing slot! You need a job, even if it involves manual labor. Darn!

And despite the fact that the Yoruba elders should be focusing on this, they are instead making enemies of the Ibos. If the situation is not arrested, it is a ticking time bomb.

Instead of empowering these young people and preventing their inclination toward sloth, the leaders instead model it, using the young people as thugs while campaigning and then abandoning them with the weapons they acquired. This is how a lot of radical movements e.g ISWAP started.

English and Mathematics are compulsory subjects which make them more valuable and important than all other subjects. For you to be admitted, you MUST pass the two. Every other subject is optional as long as you can have three additional credits in any of the rest, you can get admitted even if you aren't given your desired course to study. But in the case of the election, there is no law that makes FCT or its residents more important than any of the 36 States. If FCT is more important, then while conducting election there on the same date with the rest of the states?
If English and mathematics are compulsory, as you said, then the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is a “compulsory” territory that must be won in order for you to be declared the victor as president, regardless of whether you also win all 36 of the other states in the federation. The territory is what is in question, not whether the people are unique. I hope you comprehend. I apologize for the delayed response; I have been busy all week long.

IF YOU DON’T get 25% OF THE VOTES CAST IN THE FCT, ALL THE FIGURES YOU HAVE GOTTEN FROM OTHER STATES IS USELESS, SAME APPLIES TO ENGLISH AND MATHEMATICS TO OTHER SUBJECTS.

English and Mathematics are core subjects, more important subjects, for the University admissions or exams in Nigeria but FCT is not a core state or more important than any other state. That is the difference. At least no constitution states that.
English language and mathematics are not more superior subjects, they are core subjects, just as F.C.T. is a core territory that must be won before you can be sworn in as president regardless of whether you get 99% of the votes cast in the 36 states of the federation.

If get you get 99% of all the votes in the 36 states of the federation and not get 25% in FCT you can’t be declared winner as stated by the constitution, doesn’t that make it a core territory, just like English and Mathematics??

It means we have 36 states and the FCT. It does not connote that residents of the FCT carry more electoral value or weight than the residents of Anambra or Kano.
Like the FCT, English language and mathematics are not subjects that are more superior than others. To advance to the next level, you must pass this core subjects, just as you must receive a minimum of 25% in the FCT to be declared the election's winner.

“He or she must secure not less than 25% of votes cast in at least two-thirds of all the the states of the federation and FCT”.

The “and" in the statement is a conjunction, and it is used to connect the parts two parts of the statement.

The first statement “He or she must secure not less than 25% of votes cast in at least two-thirds of all the states of the federation” means that 25% of votes must be secured in two-thirds of the 36 states.

and FCT," refers to the inclusion of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the calculation. Very simple. I think people arguing this are just trying to be mischievous that’s all.
PoliticsRe: The 25% Simple Analogy by Vado2(op): 9:50pm On Mar 24, 2023
The constitution says “There shall be 36 states and the FCT. @Techgallery, what do you understand by that statement??
PoliticsRe: The 25% Simple Analogy by Vado2(op): 9:46pm On Mar 24, 2023
TechGallery:
Like I said, there is not provision or law that declares FCT as superior to any state of the federation. It is just the FCT and the people living there are normal people. The only factor that can make Abuja unique in this parlance is if all the inhabitants are delegates from each state of the federation.

There is difference between "25% from 2/3 of the states and the FCT" and "25% from 2/3 of the states and 25% of the FCT" or "25% from 2/3 of the states, and the FCT".

If the emphasis must be placed on the English usage here, only the second and third statements make FCT outright must-have but the first statement will be interpreted as an optional state since no constitution made FCT more important than other states in Nigeria.
Given that it has already been established that the FCT is not a state and that the constitution calls for 25% in the 2/3rd number of states AND FCT, which asserts that obtaining a 25% in the FCT + 2/3rd of all the states (which FCT is not a part of ) is a requirement before you can be declared as a president.

You’re right. It’s illegality! The President serves as the de-facto governor of the FCT. How do you rule over those that didn’t vote you into office??

What then happens if a candidate wins all the 36 States but can't get 25% from FCT? A rerun? How? So the whole country will start election all over again in all the 36 States because of the failure of getting 25% from FCT? The law must be insane to have such interpretation. If rerun is declared from court, that means a popular candidate from FCT can contest tomorrow for the position of president just to cause stalemate in the election. As long as he can win 80% votes from Abuja, it's certain the first election will be cancelled and rerun declared every time such case repeats itself in the future. There is no logic in that.

Comparing this to WAEC exam instruction also cannot work. It is stated clearly by the examination and admission bodies that English and Mathematics are more important subjects to all students unlike this election case. There is no where in Nigeria Constitution that states FCT is more important than other states of the federation. No amendment attaches priority or preference to FCT.

I am very sure this point cannot fly in court. It is just unnecessary political "misyarn" from the concerned parties.
The Constitution makes it quite explicit that you need to receive 25% in 2/3rd number of states AND the Federal Capital Territory, which emphasizes the significance.

The President chooses a minister-level administrator because He, the president doubles as the de facto governor of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In an SSCE result, the FCT is just as unique as English or mathematics. It doesn't matter how many A’s you obtain; if you receive an F9 in English or Mathematics, you must retake the full examination; the same applies here.

That’s why I had to break it down to your level. Abuja is the Federal capital territory. The FCT is not like an ordinary state. Please educate yourself

The FCT is not a state, it does not have a state legislature, and its residents do not elect state-level representatives.

The FCT is governed by a minister appointed by the president. According to straightforward reasoning, the minister is appointed by proxy, and the President serves as the de facto governor of the FCT. How are you able to rule over those who didn't choose you?

1. What makes 25% in Abuja more important than other state.
2. Does people in Abuja more quality than people in other state, that makes there vote have value than other states
3. Why would you include English and mathematics to this
(a) it is believed if you can't pass English that was used to asked the questions, how did you read and pass the exam.
It is required that any student in Nigeria know basic English
I know many people hate Tinubu for personal reasons but that doesn't mean the hatred you block our eyes from seeing the truth.

Why is it compulsory for someone that wants to study Yoruba would need to pass English and Mathematics??

Because you all are fumbling with power, instill these values in your children. Know how to use power. I sincerely believe that these will go a long way toward improving your all-around power game.

My dear, it's in our nature. It's who we are. If you pass through what Igbo people passed through and succeed the way they do, I don't think you will also keep quiet. If you go through what they went through in Nigeria and succeed, I am sure you will fly and shout your name.

I don't want to tell you to read History and know how far.

Self-praise is not arrogance. You may call it arrogance, good for you. That's what keeps him going. The more he praise himself and what he has achieved, the more he re-evaluate himself and do more.

For a man who worked so hard and arrived at a result, he decides to shake hands to himself, if it pains you, why not try the same thing? Don't you have chest to beat?

Igbo man is self-made. No government support. Every government policy against him, he will find way around it and rake in millions, then, you think his chest should be for fancy? My dear, na drum. He must bëåt it and dance to the rhythm of his success. If you get angry, you know what it's.

A lizard fell down from atop tree. He looked up and down, looked at himself, nothing happened to him. He nodded and said: "if nobody praise me, I will praise myself."

I paused!
Why aren't the Jews chest beaters then? After all, they endured centuries of slavery and suffering , yet they are one of the world's most secretive people. Brother, say something else.

You guys need to quit encouraging the chest-beating attitude because it exhausts you completely. I suppose bragging to your enemies about your weapons and even your plan, like Nnamdi Kanu was doing before he was apprehended, is even the sole reason you lost the civil war. You folks need to get used to working quietly. Simple!
PoliticsRe: What Was The Largest Empire/kingdom In Nigeria? by Vado2: 5:18pm On Mar 21, 2023
This is the relationship between the ancient Benin and the Yoruba. The First king of the Oyo empire was a Benin man.

On the death of the last Ogiso, his son and heir apparent Ekaladerhan was banished from Benin as a result of one of the Queens changing the message from the oracle to the Ogiso. Ekaladerhan was a powerful warrior and well loved Benin Prince. On leaving Benin he travelled to the west of the present day Nigeria to the land of the Yorubas. At that time the Yoruba oracle said that their King will come outof the forest and when Ekaladerhan arrived at Ife, hewas received as a King. He changed his name to Imadoduwa meaning "I did not misplace my royalty" and became The Great Oduduwa of The Yoruba Land.

On the death of his father, the last Ogiso, a group of Benin Chiefs led by Chief Oliha came to Ife, pleading with him to come back to Benin to ascend the throne. Oduduwa's reply was that a King cannot leave his Kingdom but he had seven sons and would ask one of them to go back to Benin to rule as the next King. Oranmiyan, the son of Ekaladerhan aka Oduduwa, agreed to go to Benin. He spent some years in Benin and came back to Ife after his wife gave birth to a son named Eweka. Eweka I became the first Oba of Benin.
