Universal has somehow eclipsed Disney in the animation business. Sadly, scenarios like these is what will definitely push Disney more to double down on their live action remake and possibly increase sequels to previous successful movies.
why is Illumination so successful though, I mean have you seen what their movies make? It's ridiculous.
HealthWhat's The Big Deal In Going Vegan? by ValeeLove(op): 12:36pm On Apr 30, 2023
What's the deal in being a vegetarian or vegan?
Is it truly a just cause or is it mere hypocrisy at best. While growing up I thought vegetarians had a psychological or generally a health issue.
A vegetarian doesn't eat meat while a vegan doesn't use any product at all made from animals as they believe it's animal exploitation. They have formulated many theories to try and prove that not being a 'vege' is morally wrong and harzadous health wise. Some sound good while others, utter ridiculous.
So please, health experts, vegans/vegatarians and non-vegans/non-vegetarians alike, tell me - what's the big deal in being vegan?

Wisen up folks! There's nothing like Heaven or Hell in the afterlife.

When you die, you are dead...stone dead. The Heaven and Hell in know that exists is here on earth. If you are living comfortably on earth and you are able to provide your basic needs, you are in heaven.

If you are suffering financial hardship, you are in hell.

Most of the MOGs who preach to you every Sunday to get your money in form of tithes and offerings as kickbacks are living in heaven already while you the member who buys rubber wristband with their enterprise logo on it and stickers with a new scam-tag given for every year like "2023: My year of heavenly breakthrough" while year in and your out, your life doesn't change and you trek to and fro to church and your kids can't afford the fees of the universities they built is in HELL.

Secondly, some countries are heaven while some are hell.

Travel to countries like Finland, Denmark, Sweden to mention a few and your belief in religion will reduce. Those countries are heaven while your country like Nigeria is hell because of the leaders we have and keep having. Those same leaders create heaven for themselves here in the Nigerian hell while their dumb followers who snatch ballot boxes for them because of N2000 are the demons working for them to make the hell hotter for others.

It's self explanatory!!

WWE RAW REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

The World is Yours
I’m only putting this up here because it’s important: WWE crowns a new WWE World Heavyweight champion at Night of Champions. If you have a thing for championship belts, then feast your eyes on this thing as soon as humanly possible. It’s gorgeous and looks like the current belt had a baby with WCW’s big gold belt. It looks classy; less like a toy and more like a championship belt.
As an aside though, in another universe, I might convince myself Triple H cut a promo on Roman Reigns. He noted that Roman negotiated a great deal that sees him defend the title less, which is exactly what Trips might do if given the chance. He gave Roman all the props in the world for his acumen in the ring and outside of it. But after unveiling the belt, he told the crowd that this new champion won’t have to ask for their acknowledgement because he’ll earn it Night of Champions. He also talked about the audience feeling pride for this new champion.
I’m not expecting these two in a match any time soon, but those things stuck out to me.
Anyway, the new belt rocks the world. My hope now is they remodel the other belts as well. Everything works better when the belts all fit in the same world. One belt having a wildly different aesthetic than the others just irks me.
And maybe that’s just me but I’m also the one writing this recap. Just my thoughts, right or wrong.

B-Sides
I Shot Ya
Okay, did Roman piss someone off? Seriously. First came everything I wrote above this section and then came Seth Rollins. Seth addressed Chicago and quickly turned his attention towards the new championship belt sitting ringside. Seth noted all the nice things Haitch said about Roman while underlining the fact the name missing from the long list of Roman’s conquests: his.
Okay, cool, no problem. But then it felt personal when Seth said this new belt is for people who have a different vision than Roman. “Some of us still want to fight!” said Seth. This belt, according to Seth, is about more than “politics and part-timers.”
Sure, Omos showed up and Seth gassed Omos’ height, skill, and talked about his plans for Omos at Backlash, but all that talk about the new championship and subliminal shots in the Tribal Chief’s direction stayed on my mind. They’re still on my mind.
I’m not bugging, am I? Someone tell me if I’m bugging.

Mess You Made
It goes without saying that most of us know the Frankenstein story by this point. Maybe not verbatim but we know the general idea. WWE potentially has their own version of that on their hands now with Bad Bunny formally challenging WWE to a street fight in Puerto Rico.
Bunny showed up after Damian got himself disqualified during his match with Rey Mysterio. I like this new mode for Damian where winning the matches don’t matter so much as humiliating his opponents. Like he said earlier in the show, he’s a bad guy. Damian plays his heel role better than most right now and Rey plays the perfect opponent for that.
I didn’t expect a one-on-one match between Bunny and Priest but I like it. This was always the smart move, right? Damian brought Bunny into this world. They teamed up for their first match and within storytelling, Damian taught Bunny everything he knows.
Fittingly, Bunny turns that knowledge against his former teacher at Backlash in a full-circle moment. Plus, Bunny defends Rey’s honor, and the street fight stipulation means plenty of outside shenanigans from the Judgment Day and Papa Mysterio.
While there might be better matches on paper at Backlash, this one might very well steal the show. Bunny looked great attacking Damian with a kendo stick and Damian sold everything like a seasoned vet, hold the adobo.
Right now, Damian’s angle is he doesn’t tell Bad Bunny how to perform so Bunny is out of line getting involved in wrestling. That’s fine but I hope they play the Frankenstein angle next week and on social media.

One Day
The LWO is over. And it’s not just a Chicago thing, although the Chi-Town crowd showed them so much love.
The more Santos Escobar we see on television the better. I wish the LWO got more Ws but I’m happy the LWO angle puts Santos in front of these crowds on big stages. He killed it tonight but not just him; Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde impressed as well. Again, there’s a reason the crowds love these three.
Of course they took an L to the Bloodline because the Usos have a tag team championship match on the horizon and Solo Sikoa is, well, Solo Sikoa. Their victory makes complete sense in that light but I hope WWE utilizes Santos, Cruz, & Joaquin better going forward. And by going forward I mean the very near future.

Ms. Jackson
I loved this segment between Sami Zayn & Jey Uso. Jey, reveling in his team’s victory, bumped into Sami and the whole mood changed. Sami asked the one thing we all asked after Jey & Jimmy dedicated their upcoming championship match to Roman Reigns: What happens to you if you lose? Not only that, but, to Sami’s point, dedicating the match to Roman means they’re not even fighting for themselves.
These two are really like two people after a breakup. Sami still cares for Jey and Jey feels the same, even if his lips don’t say it. Jey even asked Sami why he cares what happens to Jey. Sami only mustered that “feels bad” but the truth is he cares about that mans’ wellbeing. But, as Jey said, they both made their choices.
Jimmy called it mind games and Sami just getting in Jey’s head, but Jey asked his brother that same question: What if they don’t win?
Jey sees what’s up. He knows how this story ends for them. The fact that Jimmy of all people turns a blind eye to the facts speaks volumes about his delusional dedication. Turnabout being what it is, Jimmy played his own mind games with Sami. The way Jimmy tells it, Kevin Owens turns on Sami the second they lose those championships because of everything Sami did to him as the Honorary Uce. And Sami realized that whether he likes it or not, Jimmy has a point.
Sami and Jey, just kiss and make up already!

I’m Back
Finn Balor and Cody Rhodes should wrestle each other more often. Cody returned to the scene of perhaps the defining moment in his WWE return, and aimed his words directly at Brock Lesnar. He called Brock a coward for hitting him int he back rather than living up to Brock’s reputation as the “most decorated combat athlete in history,” which is another WWE turn of phrase that annoys me. But I digress.
The best moment came when Cody showed his battle scar from that fateful night when he wrestled with a torn pec. The crowd ate it up and everyone enjoyed themselves until Finn Balor showed up.
Finn made a good point about Cody getting screwed at WrestleMania and that he needed a crew. I expected an Elite/Bullet Club reference but alas, Finn let me down. Either that or I missed it, so someone let me know.
Cody turned down Finn’s Judgment Day invitation because he’s the good guy and Finn took several buckets of umbrage with that rejection.
I liked their match a whole lot. I do wish we got some chicanery just to protect Finn, especially after Finn defeated Rey Mysterio earlier this August. Cody loses nothing with a DQ win but I also don’t know how Finn factors into their future plans. BUT, with a new championship, and commentary hinting at Finn competing for said championship, then yeah, keep his shoulders off the mat.

Remember the Times
Remember when it looked like a holy entity might bless us with the Hurt Business reunion? Yeah, good times. Instead of that we get Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander getting easily beaten by the Street Profits. The hook for the match was the idea that the WWE Draft might change these teams irrevocably. Cool, cool. But I just preferred seeing all four men doing anything meaningful at this point. A throwaway match on the last Monday in April isn’t that.

Whutcha Want?
More Damage CTRL dissension this week. This time, it came when the group interrupted Bianca Belair’s backstage interview and IYO SKY basically said she’s not waiting for Backlash. Bayley translated that into a six-woman tag team match that neither IYO or Dakota Kai seemed thrilled about. Bianca partnered with Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan, proving Bailey forgets all the people not giving Damage CTRL Christmas cards this year.
No huge miscommunication moments during the match for Damage CTRL, but Bianca pinned Bayley. Maybe Dakota & IYO turn on Bayley instead of the other way around. They both clearly have issues with her “leadership” and they left this match as a duo, not a trio.

Bad Meets Evil
Austin Theory had himself a night on the microphone. He held his own against the Chicago crowd, got a nice shot in at Bobby Lashley, and telegraphed he has the new World Heavyweight championship in his sights. Once Bobby got physical with the champ, Bronson Reed hit the scene and the heels did the double team thing.
This is wrestling so obviously that alliance was short-lived. Bronson stood tall after a Tsunami, and the belt looks good in his hands. Austin wants a new belt, Lashley probably contends for that same belt, so giving Bronson the rub at Backlash makes a lot of sense.

Chi-City
I’m still not down with Mustafa Ali’s new gimmick. I get it completely but I don’t like it. That said, it felt good seeing him get the W against Chad Gable in his hometown. The big story here concerned Maxxine Dupri and Chad fighting over who gets Otìsè after the Draft. Maxxine even accompanied Chad to the ring—along with Otìsè—just to prove her point that Chad’s type lame.
Chad losing just ups the drama, so I’m with it.

I really enjoyed this week’s Raw. Consistent across the board and satisfying minus the tag match that apparently served as WWE Draft drama fodder.
We also got a Trish Stratus showing where he continued her great heel work. And she’s carrying this thing without Becky Lynch at the moment so more power to her.
But the headline is the championship and the ‘90s hip hop-level subliminals thrown at Roman Reigns. Whew, Lord have mercy. Even while writing this, I wonder why. But drama aside, that belt is gorgeous and I can’t wait for a new champion.
what I want to know is did Trips acknowledge the Big Gold Belt in some fashion?

You should know that not all gimmicks are gold. The rock's first gimmick was trash, same as Stone cold and even Undertaker (mean mark callous).
Your question is synonymous to asking why all movies aren't successful or why some movies are criticized. The right gimmick would get a wrestler over with the fans. Look at Sami and how the whole Sami uso and ucey thing helped him. People finally gave him the appreciation he deserved. Look at how 'the man' gimmick shot Becky up. Getting the right gimmick is key.
Pro wrestling is gimmick, you cannot just be a regular guy and get over. Even boxers and MMA fighters are beginning to embrace gimmicks a bit. This is 2023, and the world is tilting more towards showmanship and gimmicks. Creators are embracing it and you want pro wrestling to discard it.
answer this: If you can make people love you so much that they tune in to watch you win or hate you so much that they tune in to watch you lose, then why the hell do you need a gimmick? You get the difference now between a character and gimmick?

yeah showmanship and gimmicks is what's helping MMA guys win fights. Listen, I told the previous guy his answer was going to be exactly similar with what you wrote if I asked him why some gimmicks didn't work. I wasn't wrong. If they are successful, it's the gimmick. If they aren't, it's the wrong gimmick. I'm not going to argue this. I'll only state the obvious. Cody left WWE strictly because of a gimmick - and prior to that he had already attempted more than 3. He went away to the Indies and NJPW (this one is less interested in gimmick than your average company) worked on his in-ring and character work (acting), went to AEW with the same thing, came back to WWE with the same thing and was still over in all those companies with little to no gimmick. He is today nothing more than a competitor. Sure he's a nightmare - catchphrase much -, wants to finish his dad's story - a real life situation, cannot be included as a fake wrestling story or gimmick either - and still gets to the main event of WrestleMania faster than the most gimmicked guy in WWE at the moment - Seth Rollins. Cody talks, acts and fights nothing less than a normal competitor that wants to win, nothing more, nothing else. We'll keep going over this, I'm not arguing, I only see what you guys don't see. You can't differentiate between character and gimmick. Any one can do a gimmick for fun, but no one can tell me that a gimmick creates long-term success for anybody. That person is completely and effortlessly capping.

I don't know about anything else, but those old guys you called all got to the pinnacle with gimmicks. Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Ric flair etc. All had gimmicks which people loved.
BTW, gimmicks propelled pro wrestling to the height it is now, nobody would have loved regular guys pretend to fight. When people discuss wrestling on the street, they discuss the gimmicks. Fans act like their favourite wrestlers, the gimmicks they see on screen. When people act like Cena, they do not act like the man, but the gimmick. Taking gimmicks away, is like taking away the skeleton.
then why didn't it work for Corbin? For Wyatt? For Hurricane? For Heath Slater? For Damien Sandow? Why isn't it working for Viking Raiders? For Calito? For Wade Barrett? For Stardust? I could go on and on. Without gimmicks those guys you mentioned would still be successful. But the ones I mentioned thought they needed it (with exception of Cody). It's no wonder how their careers turned. Nobody needs a gimmick to get over. This is 2023.

You mean to tell me that the guy with 20 matches in AEW is not a wrestler just because he has a goofy gimmick?

I didn't talk about the use of just barbed wire, I specifically mentioned the exploding barbed wire deathmatch which had the dumbest and most soap opera-esque finish known to man. And that's not mentioning the hilarious special effects failure. Again though, why would we even be talking about special effects if this was a real sport?

Endeavor which owns UFC and WWE is NOT a pure sports company, it is a conglomerate of media and talent agencies. Pro wrestling is not a sport, it is predetermined, most wrestlers would get flattened by actual martial artists (see CM Punk) unless they have a background in martial arts and real wrestling. If you want a real sport, go watch actual combat sports like MMA or Kickboxing. Pro wrestling has never been and will never be a real sport. I guess AEW doesn't get called entertainment because most people don't consider it entertaining.

If gimmicks were made to cover for wrestlers' insufficiencies, then doesn't that mean they help wrestlers get over? Rocky Maivia was a vanilla character before he rebranded as The Rock, Terra Ryzing from WCW came to WWE add the dapper gentleman Hunter Hearst Helmsley before he rebranded again as the HHH we know today, CM Punk started in a tag team vanes the Chick Magnets before he rebranded multiple times. Even Daniel Bryan was just a vanilla character until he started with the yes chants and blew up while in Team Hell No.

Of course established stars like Stone Cold and Ric Flair get more creative control after they have proven themselves to be dependable talkers. That doesn't change the fact that they still have to hit specific marks in every given promo.

WWE mostly references AEW in passing and rarely in a derisive manner. The only time that they actually took a shot was Edge mentioning that MJF talked about the Miz for attention. AEW takes jabs weekly.
yes Hausen is a mascot, if you knew him before now you'll understand what I mean. No one takes him serious. He's just for the entertainment. And yes, he shouldn't have stepped in the ring (even though he may know how to wrestle), but where do you think AEW got the motivation to let him in the ring from...? WWE of course! They are the king of phoney goofy silly ideas and matches. Remember Knoxville vs Sami at Mania? The big embarrassment to pro-wrestling, yep, WWE did it. They do more and have done more. WWE will still take the trophy for goofy matches no matter what AEW puts out.
Let's talk about barbed wire, even pu7pl3 will tell you my stand on hardcore matches, no matter what company. Whether it's exploding barbed wires or a simple chair shot to the head, one may be more goofy than the other but its roots can still be traced back to WWE and ECW. We won't be in this mess today if it wasn't for those 2 companies. The gimmick is also dated to Japan, it wasn't invented in AEW. We can't keep on pointing fingers. If all companies can agree to do away with Hardcore matches, it will be better. That's all I'm saying.
You didn't get my point on the UFC/WWE merger. I'm saying since WWE refers to itself as entertainment, what do they have in common with UFC (sport) that makes this merger possible? Did they also become a sport overnight? Weren't they entertainment just a day before? When this clarity had been made then people will start taking pro-wrestling seriously.
You guys are very selective when talking about gimmicks. When and if I point out someone who used gimmicks and it didn't work (Corbin and many more), you'll say the gimmick was the problem. Gimmicks have never worked and they never will. What made those guys successful was the work and improvement they put into their craft. The gimmicks came along with them, but it did nothing. That is why most of these guys used less of the gimmicks or basically dumped it and were still over. You think Dwayne Johnson needs a gimmick to sell tickets. Since his return in 2011 he has acted more and more like himself than anything, even uses his real name; and still he broke records at Mania. Same with Taker, he changed to a character more like him in real life (American Badass), used less spooky material, and was still over. Dusty, Flair, Harley Race - these didn't need gimmicks, they still succeeded. What's Edge's current gimmick? What about Gunther? Brock? This isn't 90s bro. If you can wrestle and act, you are good to go, no gimmicks required. Who even succeeds in life with a gimmick. Gimmicks are only used by people who aren't that good or don't know any better.
I still insist that wrestlers need no script. What they need are "interviewers". People who will ask them questions and get their opinions on things, that way they can easily answer. Going out with a mic in hand to talk about stuff is unnecessary. It's not a stage play, it's a sport that is done through entertainment.

You mean goofy characters like Danhausen and bad groups like Cancel Culture?

Like seriously, what's sports based about an exploding barbed wire deathmatch? Pro wrestling is entertainment and has always been.

Gimmicks are what separate a tough dude that fights well or a flippity-floppity vanilla midget from a megastar that sells merch. Storylines are what separate choreographed spotfests from emotional performances that viewers can get behind. Scripts allow wrestlers generate heat for matches without going into business for themselves like "that empty-headed dumbfxck" Hangman Adam Page.

I like WWE and I think AEW is OK. I just wish AEW would stop taking shots across the aisle itbecause that's some WCW-type shxt.
Cancel Culture? Never heard of it.
Danhausen is a mascot, he's not a wrestler. That's not included.
You're talking like AEW started barbed wires. WWE used barbed wires a lot back in the day too. And pro-wrestling has not always been entertainment (I know it started in carnivals) but it ended up being treated as a world wide sport with sport journalists reporting it. If WWE is pure entertainment then why are they merging with a sport company like UFC. That's where the confusion comes in. WWE fans like to call it entertainment so they can excuse illogical and ridiculous programming they endure every week.
Gimmicks don't seperate nothing from nobody. Gimmicks were created to support the insufficiencies and inefficiencies of wrestlers. It's absolutely ridiculous if you really look at it (another topic for another day).
Scripts turn sport stars to complete actors; which is not good. How am I an independent sport star when I'm to be reading a script who's content came from someone else? Imagine people writing scripts for Austin and Flair...stop imagining, it's impossible.
Yeah, like WWE didn't take shots at WCW. They even presently take shots at AEW too.

Different strokes for different folks. If you want to watch big meaty men slapping meat, watch WWE. If want to watch people hit Canadian Destroyers off a ladder onto barbed wire, watch AEW. If you want to watch Joey Janela light his foot on fire and superkick his opponent, seek professional help.
what if I want to watch goofy characters like Otis and bad groups like Damage CTRL, where do I go? We get it, AEW (fired Joey Janela) does goofy hardcore matches and make over the top decisions, but they are still more sports based than WWE. The guys at Connecticut believe gimmicks, soap opera and excess scripts is the right way to go and I can't help but shake my head. No one's getting it right at the moment, and especially not a company where sport characters refer to themselves as entertainers.

Counterpoint: It is all staged so no matter how elitist Danielson wants to get about it, he's just splitting hairs over the name he wants to call people pretending to beat each other up.
at least we can both agree he's right in that context. As for who's having a better product, well that's just another topic for another day.

AEW has a 5'7" guy who beats other wrestlers with his hands in his pockets.

Nuff said.
you know that's not entirely true. He uses that as a gimmick, but he can very well fight (watch Cassidy vs Will Ospreay). Point is WWE will never agree that it's guys are pro-wrestlers; so with that in mind, Danielson is right.
