Some houses like Tinubu's mother's house has a small mosque or speaker blaring position. I hope they will relocate to the main mosque at Iju road to stop disturbing people on Emmanuel Olrunfemi and Colege Road. |
I hear some dumb Economist is asking Nigerians to dump their MTN and Airtel lines and use GLO instead. According to him, that would shore up Naira against the dollar. Dumb eeeeh! Dumb as he may be, he has 6000 followers hailing him. People who also reason with their a..us. The Dumbo forgot that Nigeria also receive remittances from Diaspora much more than what MTN and Airtel get. And who will employ the millions who are dependent on these two telecoms companies. He should also ask Nigerians to avoid Toyota vehicles and buy Innoson. Sorry, Innoson is an Igboman, so no need to suggest that. What about we abandon DSTV and watch NTA only or better still stop buying Total, shell, etc oil, stop drinking Guinness drinks, Unilever products. Infact we should stop going abroad for medical treatment. How about we ban foreign rice, foreign clothes, and infact bring all Nigerians abroad home including the Economist so that we conserve the Dollars. I forgot self, foreign airlines should also stop coming to Nigeria. We do not need BA, Emirates, Qatar Air, Ethiopian Airlines, etc because they remit their revenue home. Let us start using only Nigeria Airways. O! Oh! Sorry, that one is moribund, what about Buhari's Air Nigeria? Such iberibeism can only come from unemploed or underemployed morons parading themselves as political influencers or should we say they are AGIP (Any Govt In Power) |
Reno say you should stop using MTN and Airtel. Dumb eh ![]() |
Truth is that Tinubu never appeared to have anything to offer. I am one of those who vehemently criticize him and I have NO APOLOGIES for that. I still believe it was a disastrous move to have hastily remove subsidy on gasoline and float the Naira as the same time. Those were supposed to have been handled cautiously. Perhaps the present economy quagmire would have been lesser. That said, the president moves against corruption is commendable, even though it is not yet UHURU. I think the president should resuscitate the whistleblower program and ensure that Nigerians providing government with sensitive information on corruption are protected. Another new move that I commend is the creation of checks on NNPCL. This to me is the best thing done by this administration. However, instead of using CBN, the president should consider an independent team to audit oil sales and proceeds. That is let the independent finance experts be in place to audit what NNPCL sells and what is remitted to CBN. Some of us believe that Nigeria has always been shortchanged since oil was discovered in 1963. So, for me NNPCL and NPDC should only be regulators. Not government businesses. On security, the president has so far FAILED. I still insist that without FULL scale accountability, we are only reacting and not proactively ready for the significant change. Starting immediately, send our armed forces to clear the forests of bandits and terrorists. Give brigade commanders 100 days to clear our firestorm of these evils. Afterward, have area commanders take charge of their catchment area with responsibility to account for any armed robbery and kidnapping in their areas. Any area commanders that failed should be sacked. Let the area commander cascade the responsibility to the commissioner of police who in turn cascade to the DPOs. Of it mean establishing a rapid response force, so be it. However, such team need to be trained of professional policing, not the nature of SARS. Lastly our Intelligence gathering is none existence. We should begin to deploy technology now. To this, government should require ALL business premises to install functional CCTV and have them record events around their operational areas. Such MUST be provided to security agencies to help investigations when needed. Make all Petrol Stations no matter how remotely located to have CCTV. We registered for NIN, Voters card, BVN, SIM cards, etc yet our database is useless. These databases need to be brought to effective use. Why are we not using biometrics in 2024 for heaven sake? Our policing is not right. By now, every arrested persons should be submitting their 10 fingers print to a security database. The ministry of internal affairs collect finger prints for all passport applicants, what do we use them for? Do we reference those during criminal investigations? Our problem is lack of accountability in Nigeria such that everyone gets away with anything. |
That Ododo is even worse than Fubara. Tinubu tried that he did not brazenly appoint Seyi as Chief of Staff. If he did, APC goons will be online defending it with their last Naira data. |
Coldspice:How many Southern recruits have made it to CP in Nigeria? Abeg make una take am as una take M-poverty. |
Bello commissioners you mean! |
Machinegun91:Be prepared to start paying rent like people in UK. An equivalent year rent currently would triple as landlords will factor in time value of money. Again rent termination notice period would become 2 weeks instead of 6 months. Thereafter, landlord will rent to new tenants at higher amount. No free lunch in Freetown. Moreover, when is the senate enacting a bill to reduce their constituency allowances? |
Typical igbo man will not be comfortable in life with police salary. How many NNPC or NCS job was Abia offered? |

How is that Bola Tinubu cannot stem the downwards slide of the Naira against other currencies? One would have expected that Tinubu would deploy his First Class degree to reverse the colossal failure brought on us by Buhari, a Pry 6 certificate holder.. With the way Naira is falling, if nothing is done quickly, $1 will hit N4000 before end of 2024. The painful thing is that whatever goes up in Nigeria does not come down. By then Nigerians will begin to eat from .... When some of us were warning against the duo of devaluation and petroleum subsidy removal, naysayers called us wailers. Today, some of them have gone mute. One of them even said that CBN would flood the market with $ "to run us streets". Up till now, from N750, the rates have doubled, yet BMC abi TMC stipends remained N50k a month. When Tinubu finishes with Nigeria, many would carry bags to run to Ghana, by then Ghanians will start "Nigeria must Go" protest. |
aribisala0:Sir, GSM is also privatized, yet there is telephony and communication ministry is active. A failure is a failure! Power is privatized in other jurisdictions yet they have constant power supply. The day a minister enforces penalty for power outages, and ensures all relevant clauses of the privatization agreement are enforced to the letter, the DISCOS will wake up. |

Foolbara = GEJ promax. We warned this simp to stand firm, but choose to play dumb in the name of peace brokered by Tinubu. The same Tinubu that fought OBJ like his whole life depended on it. The house can now restart his Impeachment. |

Are laws no longer processed through the NASS? Truly mumu full Nigeria. No wonder we keep voting imbecility to the presidency. |
Saudi Arabia to get first alcohol shop in more than 70 years By Graeme Baker BBC News 24 January 2024 Saudi Arabia has said it will open a shop in Riyadh selling alcohol to a select band of non-Muslim expats, the first to open in more than 70 years. The clientele will be limited to diplomatic staff, who have for years imported booze in sealed official packages known as diplomatic pouches. Saudi officials said the shop would counter "the illicit trade of alcohol". Prohibition has been law since 1952, after one of King Abdulaziz's sons drunkenly shot dead a British diplomat. The new store will be located in Riyadh's Diplomatic Quarter west of the city centre, according to a document seen by the AFP and Reuters news agencies. A source familiar with the plans told Reuters the shop was expected to open within weeks. There will be limitations, however: Thirsty envoys would need to register beforehand and receive clearance by the government No one under 21 will be allowed in the store and "proper attire is required" at all times inside Drinkers will not be able to send a proxy, such as a driver Monthly limitations would be enforced, the statement said. However - according to the document seen by AFP - these will not be particularly stringent. Patrons will be limited to 240 "points" of alcohol per month. One litre of spirits will be worth six points, one litre of wine three points and one litre of beer one point. There are also no suggestions that the clientele will be widened to "ordinary" foreigners in the kingdom without diplomatic privileges, who officially have no access to alcohol. While alcohol will become part of Riyadh life, drinkers would be wise to be mindful of where they drink and how they behave afterwards. Under current Saudi law, penalties for consumption or possession of alcohol can include fines, jail time, public flogging and deportation for unauthorised foreigners. The document also said authorities are planning a "new regulatory framework" that would also allow "specific quantities" of alcohol to be brought in by diplomats to "put an end to... an uncontrolled exchange of such goods", it added. For years diplomatic staff have had to use their "pouches", which cannot be tampered with by authorities in their host country, to bring in limited amounts of alcohol. The moves are the latest in a series of initiatives known as "Vision 2030" to liberalise Saudi society under the crown prince and de facto ruler of the country, Mohammed bin Salman. Other Gulf states operate similar alcohol regimes. However, the UAE and Qatar also allow the sale of alcohol to non-Muslims over 21 in hotels, clubs and bars. There is no suggestion from the Saudi document that the government there is considering doing the same. While alcohol is forbidden under Islam, Saudi Arabia had until 1952 held a conciliatory attitude to its presence inside the kingdom. That changed after Mishari bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, a prince, shot dead Cyril Ousman, the British vice-consul in Jeddah, in 1951 for refusing to pour him another drink at a function. A year later, King Abdulaziz imposed a total ban on alcohol. Mishari was convicted of murder. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68085190 |
Just prepare for Hunger! The dollar is destined for N2000, my initial projection of N1500 is now likely to be hit in Q1. |
This is the result of: - the disastrous change that Tinubu and Buhari brought to Nigeria. - monumental next level of failure that Osinbajo and Buhari incubated - and the tribulation of renewed hopelessness from Tinubu .. allwell, next time gullibility and tribalism will no longer becloud our judgment. When a man said #emilokan, we will ask,"lokan to where exactly?" Let them loud the hunger with hyperinflation, na them go still suffer-am. Soon, many will start eating 0-0-1 per day. |
DMerciful:That is the hallmark of all Hypocrites. They do everything to deflect issues and push out rhetorics for their gullible to swallow hook line and sinkers |
Paraman:Oha, where are they in Lagos? Where is the DG of FAAN office located? |
Hotice085:You are empty upstairs that is why your only consoling comment is to tag everyone IPOB. I pity your level of reasoning, so pathetic. Keep deceiving yourself since Senator Ali Ndume, northern senate caucus, NEF, AYCA, etc have all become IPOB. |
Throwback:Who is presidential aide, an errand boy? Where is Feni Adesina and Garba Shehu? |
Throwback:Oga, you said more than this when Niger military took over. The matter is DEAD , quote me, even in the presidency the matter closed. |
President Tinubu's plans to move FAAN and some strategic departments of CBN to Lagos may never happen afterall. This is as the Northerners have warned and in fact prevailed on him to perish the idea. This goes to tell you that the North still weild enormous power in Nigeria. The likes of Dalhatu, Ndume and AYCF have challenged him on the proposal, hence he has no choice than to halt the move. In fact Senator Ndume was emphatic, telling the president that such would be visited with great consequences. In any case, it was a very dumb move and whoever suggested such needs to be sacked. If you recall, when the President wanted to lead a coalition of ECOWAS forces to attack Niger republic, the same Northerners warned him not to try it and he buckled under his knees. It tells one thing, this President is a weakling and lack "balls of steel". A PMB would dare the consequences, but not a weakling like Tinubu. |
