“The stakes were high enough for Obasanjo to swallow his considerable pride and go to Atiku on bended knees.

“Obasanjo had no problem going down on his knees to beg for what he thought was impossible to obtain any other way.”

“President Obasanjo chose Umaru Yar’Adua whose ill-health, among other challenges, was known already constituted a serious impediment to the possibility of any inspired and energetic leadership. The view of many well-informed Nigerians is that Yar’Adua and his deputy, Goodluck Jonathan, emerged for no other discernable reasons than being ‘weak’ governors sympathetic to the ‘Third Term’ project and therefore handpicked as payback.

Truth don dey comot. grin grin grin grin grin But honestly El-rufai, we knew most of this things. Nigerians aint as foolish as u peops in govt think.

elampiro: Mikel didn't for once do anything spectacular. He took corner kicks and the kicks didn't have power in them, like the ball suspending in the air temporary. He slowed the game on a number of occasion and as usual passed the ball backwards even when he could advance with it.
Right! We miss Jay Jay Okocha seriously. But wait o, does it mean combing the entire streets of Lagos alone a Jay Jay or even better cannot be found? Combing the entire Nigeria should be able to produce more than 100 Jay Jay's. Na wa o, these our coaches sef lazy. I know i can't do it, but they are supposed to be professionals in this area, this is what they are paid to do.

For me, Mikel Obis' performance was the most dismal of the night. Couldn't hold the midfield and so couldn't inspire confidence in our players. Forget the team captain, No 10 is the soul of every team.

PoliticsRe: Power: FG To Meet 10, 000mw Target By December – Minister by vanstanzy(m): 10:43am On Jan 10, 2013
fkaz: ABUJA—The Federal Government achieved 6,443 mega watts of electricity power, at the end of last year, the Minister of State (Power), Mrs. Zainab Kuchi disclosed yesterday.

Kuchi noted that power transmission peaked at 4517.6mw on December 23, 2012 due to additional 450mw generated in the fourth quarter.
According to her, the Federal Government would continue to pursue its action plan towards the realization of the 10, 000 mega watts at the end of the year.

This she said, would be achieved through the implementation of a variety of strategies which would include funding the sector through private sector participation.

Besides, sources of the power generation would be expanded to include renewable energy and rural electrification.

Similarly, Mrs. Kuchi said government would fund power transmission projects outside budgetary provisions.

Also speaking, the Spokesman of the Transmission Company Nigeria, TCN, Dave Ifabiyi, said his organization would work assiduously towards a consistent upscale performance of the sector.

“As gas supply continues to improve and more National Integrated Power Projects (NIPPs) come on stream, the transmission and distribution companies will continue to harness every available generation to ensure that stable electricity supply is delivered to electricity customers”, he said.

Lets say this scheme is feasible, how do u intend to manage the corruption and saboteurs in the system? huh huh huhCos this has always been Nigerias biggest bane to development in all sectors of the economy. Failure to answer that, then we could as well be going round in circles.
"To attack a problem, one needs to get to the roots". Hope FG are doing or have done their homework in this regard.
PoliticsRe: Stun Guns For Our Police Instead Of Guns by vanstanzy(m): 10:22am On Jan 10, 2013
These our trigger-happy cops, should use and be mandated to use stun guns but with the real ammo. by the side just incase the criminal they are subduing is very aggressive. But those with guns should be trained better on the handling and use of guns. U should see the way our cops hold their guns with the nozzle pointing at passer-bys' carelessly.
One day, the bus i was in was driving behind a police van, with cops seated behind the van. U should have seen where the nozzles were pointing, just at my bus. My question was, should incase the police van should experience a jolt and one of the guns should mistakenly go off, what would happen? The answer can't be imagined at all.
