fydence: some how in ur books everything the US says is correct... I guess u knw little abt how crafty these guys are...u think the US cares abt the girls.. They are here for their interests only...and those interest myt nt exactly coincide with ur welfare...if u think otherwise go and ask the iraqis hw they are enjoying their US led 'liberation'

Then if the Nigerian govt knows the Americans are crafty and because of that they (Naija FG) don't need them, why then did Nigerian govt go ahead and call on them for help? Makes no sense. If you are going to call on someone you don't trust for help and won't use their advice, then do us a favour, and don't call them at all thereby wasting their time in the process.

fydence: The US cn go to hell for all I care... Somebody has refused to do ur will ..so nw we are slow to learn, why una never find where the girls dey since with una high tech...rubbish propagandists...and shame to all the gullible nigerians they succeed in decieving...y'all are mental slaves
Now i see ur point. U loose ur keys in ur house and u call ur neigbhour or better still an outsider to come look for it.
Naija govt lost those Chibok girls in Naija and not Chicago, so let Naija govt search for her girls by herself, and if they cant, they can at least try and cooperate with superior powers to ensure their speedy rescue.

who is up for a horror movie here? I know, i could use one.
Nairaland / General / Re: Woman Receives Selfie From Dead Grandmother (IMAGES) by vanstanzy(m): 11:04am On Jul 14, 2014
dridowu: Superstitious Romanians have been packing out local churches after a local woman claimed the ghost of her dead grandmother had taken over her mobile phone and used it to send a "selfie" from the other side.

Petrified Gina Mihai, 34, said: "When I switched the phone on I was horrified to see my dead grandmother's face. She had what looked like a snake around her neck, and the whole image looked as if it had been taken through a hole, like it was shot through a tear in the fabric that separates the living from the dead.

"I took it to a fortune teller who told me that my grandmother was sending me a message from the other side, the snake around her neck was a symbol of the fact that she was being punished in the other life for some sin. By contacting us she was telling us that if we were to pray for her, we would still be able to save her soul."

But now not just Gina and her family had been spending overtime in the local church in Scurtesti in south eastern Romania, but also dozens of other families terrified about the implications of a snake wrapped ghost sending a message from the other side.

In Romania once a year there is a feast, the Service of Alms, in which Romanians travel to the local graveyard and hand over food as a gesture to the spirits in the afterlife. The food itself is in reality handed over to the poor at the end of the day, but the gesture is seen as providing nourishment for those who have passed on in the afterlife.

Gina said: "My grandmother died three years ago and I haven't taken any food for her to the graveyard. I was making doughnuts at the time and didn't want to get the phone dirty so I put it in my pocket, and when I took it out there was the image on the phone. The fortune teller told me that was a mistake not to have paid tribute to her with an offering of food, and it was significant that she contacted me while I was cooking. I have taken doughnuts to the cemetery every day since then."

Florica Mihai, 45, another relative, said: "The village priest told me that we need to do 40 Days of Alms to make up for those that we missed and we are doing it now. We want to help her soul to be saved."

SAUCE
What is a "selfie"? And what kinda SAUCE? Tomatoe sauce or garden egg sauce. Thats what i want know.

mainman7: These diametrically demented cacophonous toilet tissues called igbos always ululating about the Great Yorubas. Nya miri Gwongworos! Ojukwu, your acclaimed igbo lord and the greatest igbo of all time was a coward just like every other igbo and[b] he took to his heels dressed as a female (What an height of cowardice!). The fact that igbos are fools is highly substantiated and corroborated by the fact that someone that deceived millions of igbos into being slaughtered like chickens in Biafran war (who himself ran away dressed like a woman) was being celebrated when he came back. Also during Abacha regime of tyranny, coward Ojukwu kept his mouth shut throughout. He only found his voice again when OBJ became the president. Before they left, the Colonial British Army rightly observed, before they left, that the Yorubas are the most militarily intelligent in Nigeria, especially when it comes to developing disastrously destructive military strategies. "Brain is better than brawn" Biafra was actually initially winning the war (igbos read your own history) until the Great Awolowo, the ununiformed General (a typical Yoruba man) stepped in on the side of Nigeria, came up with the intelligent military strategy that gave Nigeria Victory over Biafra. "In warfare it's all fair". You know that Hausas only hear go! Just give the military order, they'll carry it out to the letter. Even long after Biafra had surrendered, the killing of igbos continued untill Awolowo, the greatest Nigerian Generalissimo of all time, intervened again and told the Military to allow the remaining igbos to be alive. So, you senseless igbo mofos still have the to thank the Yorubas today, understand?! "Next time you see a Yoruba man, duff your hat and bow before him!"

Google "the story of Nigeria", watch it& strive to be informed.

Blockus: OP,

I find this thread offensive to ndi Igbos. angry

We dont have any relationship whatsoever with the Yorubas. angry

They have proven to be untrust worthy since the beginning of time. They are two faced, back-stabbing and maliciously wicked and have demonstrated it time and time again. Lets not forget that the genocidal aspect of the civil war where food and medical supply were cut off from the East was not suggested by the Northerners but by a Yoruba man. Lets not even forget that there would not have been a war per se if the Yorubas had stuck to their end of the bargain from the Aburi accord held in Ghana.

The Yorubas are not trust worthy at all and thats the root of our problems in Nigeria. Atleast the Hausas have shown us where they stand from the very beginning.

I do however agree with the OPS comparison of the Igbos to the Germans and the Yorubas to the French, seeing as the Germans are innovative and brave at war and the French are cowardly and docile in general.
These are the type of tribal bigots spoken about. My Igbo bros, thats if u r one, sheath ur sword, its all in the past.

I hope that the house is also aware that many states in the northern part of Nigeria employ non-indigenes under contract appointment . states like kano, katsina, zamfara, jigawa, kebbi, etc. are still doing so till now.

Exactly, the Northerners are following after their lord and mentor's tenets, Ahmadu Bello. You guys should listen to his inflammatory speech made in 1964 to a foreign journalist before he was killed in Nigeria's first Bloody-coup in 1966. Focus ur attention from 41:30mins of this vid. Really shameful speech coming from a so-called stateman!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Reps Move To Stop Contract / Casual Employment by vanstanzy(m): 12:50pm On Jul 12, 2014
Interesting! But is this the only right approach? Civilized countries also do casual/ contract employment because it pays heavily than the permanent staffs. Since casuals do not enjoy perks like the permanent staffs, their take home pay is normally three times to four times greater. But in Nigeria, its a different ball game, cos the casuals even earn less and upon that are sometimes treated like houseboys in the establishment. For me another clause should be introduced, if a company must take a casual, the company should pay the casual three times what a permanent staff of the same level in the organisation earns. Keeping the casual for two years before converting him/ her to permanent status is good. At least the organisation should take the first 18 months to assess the staff, whether to keep him beyond two years or not. Instead of wasting his time.
I say kudos all the same, hope this bill pulls through and speedily too.
