Ebullience:
President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Abuja on Thursday to attend the Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

A statement by Garba Shehu, Buhari’s spokesperson, read: “Ahead of the Summit, was a preparatory meeting in Jeddah meant to adopt the draft agenda and work programme for the Summit.

“On the agenda were the question of Palestine and the Arab-Israeli conflict; combating terrorism and violent extremism; the humanitarian situation in the Muslim world; promotion of scientific cooperation, among others.”

Though I admire your commitment towards nation building and efforts for the unity of our great country, your stolen mandate won't last.

Today's inauguration is Pyrrhic and painfully ephemeral, Atiku will SURELY reclaim his mandate at the Supreme court.
Those celebrating for Buhari's second term should wait first because Atiku is coming.

Fellow Nigerians rejoice and make merry.

Education / Re: 4 Things To Consider Before Going For Your Masters by vanstanzy(m): 4:09am On Jan 02, 2015
Kofacts:
Getting a master's degree will be an incredible source of pride and help bring you professional opportunities you may not have previously thought possible. However, you need to know a few things before you get started.

Why You Want One

The most common reason that people seek a master's degree is to advance in their profession and earn more money. Others, however, go this route in order to change careers completely. For example, you may have earned a bachelor's degree in English and later decide you want to become a counselor. In that case, a master's will allow you to develop expertise in that area so you can enter a new field. This type of degree is offered in a wide range of fields, including mathematics, biology, psychology, business, social work, and many others.

How Long It Takes

It typically takes two years to obtain a master's of arts (MA) or science (MS) after getting your bachelor's. There is basically no difference between an MA and an MS other than the name; they have the same basic educational requirements. While you'll be in classes similar to those you went through to get your bachelor's, they are typically more like seminars in that they contain a great deal of discussion. In addition, you'll be expected to perform much more analysis than you've done previously.

The Workload

You can expect to do coursework full time. You'll have to take required courses at first, but then you'll be able to focus on your specific subject area later on. If you are studying a science, you will probably do a great deal of fieldwork and laboratory research. If you're in a professional program, you'll probably be required to complete an internship.

You will either have to complete an extended research paper or a thesis, depending on your field of study. The thesis could be a scientific experiment or a detailed analysis of a certain piece of literature. There are some programs that offer alternatives to the thesis, such as a comprehensive exam. It could be an oral test, a written one, or a combination. If you're studying in a field such as psychology or social work, you may need to perform an internship or practicum in which you learn the skills needed to perform therapy.

Choosing to pursue a master's degree is not something to take lightly. You'll need to be prepared to put in a great deal of work and may have to sacrifice some of the things you were able to enjoy while getting your bachelor's, such as time hanging out with friends and more. However, once you accomplish your goal, the benefits you enjoy could very well last a lifetime.

Like Ojukwu greeted Ken Sarowiwa "Good morning" in jail in the mid ninties, for realising the fact that their was a grave injustice in Nigeria perpetuated by a section of the country. ochon:
I was in a trance earlier yesterday, and got swept off by these avalanche of prophetic visions which I intend sharing with my fellow NLers.

Below are my "sure banker" prophetic utterances for 2015. angryangry if none don't happen, I'll deactivate my account. undecided These are "sure banker" prophecies. I'm never wrong. >
sad

1. This year must end in 31st of December and start on 1st of January!! No matter how irregular February might try to be, this prophecy must come to pass. If you wan argue am, mo we bet $1000-$1000. Winner takes all. angry undecided

2. Either Goodluck Jonathan or Buhari will win the 2015 Presidential election. undecided

3. Hmmm.. This vision is not clear, but it seems like Seun will still not marry this year. I'll update this when the vision becomes clearer.

4. A lot condoms will be used this year, many condoms!! I see a lot of abortions too. Pray hard people. sadsadcrycry

5. A woman will lose the Presidential election.

6. After 2015 Presidential election, either Ngeneukwenu, Berem, Cleverly, Omenka, Barcanista, Obiagelli, Cramjones, Egift, Donphilopus; or Firefire, Ngwakwe, Ichiidodo, Atlwireless, Sincere9jerian, Tomakint, Tít, will end up in tears or anguish depending on who lost/won in 2015 Presidential election.

7. Harmattan must come in December. If it doesn't, call me bàstard!! angry

8. *Nairaland again? Hmmm.. Yes, I can see the vision.* Yes o, Mr./Ms. Nairaland contest must hold and ONE person will win. I repeat, ONE person will win not two.

9. Tiwa Savage, Tonto Dike, Wizkid, Davido, Omotola, Genevive Nnaji, Linda Ikeji, Chika Ike, Toke Makinwa, etc., will slug it out for who rules the FP of NL, this year. wink

10. Boko Haram will strike again. sadcry

11. Sun must shine, and rain must fall. Quote me on this one. angry

12. Some people will fail WAEC, NECO and JAMB, while some people will pass them. I saw this vision clear yesterday. Many people will graduate this year too.

13. *Yes!! I can see it!!* Our politicians will sign a MOU with a foreign consortium, promising us that the said project will be completed in 2054. Our children will grow up and find these politicians' children/family members take the helm of our country's affairs ONLY to sign another MOU promising them of that project being completed in 2100. undecided Maybe it's our 5th generation that will reap the benefits. GEJ and Buhari take note!!

14. Our crops will be grown and harvested!! cheesy

15. Dr. Sid and Peter Okoye's wives MUST give birth this year!! I'm dead sure. If it doesn't happen, may I be banned for life.

16. Maga must pay, Musicians will sell their albums, thieves will rob and some will be caught!!

17. ONE team ONLY will win the various leagues and Champions league. ONE only, not TWO.
embarassed

18. *Nairaland again? WOW!! Hmmm.. Yes, I can see it now!!* People will wail and cry, "Nairaland has gone to the dogs... What is this topic doing on FP?... I'm leaving NL for good.." But yet these people will still have NL app on their phone to update them about FP topics. Even those that deactivated will come back with alternate monikers or as guest while pretending as if they're gone.

19. Jonathan will be blamed for a lot of things, even for people impregnating their wives and for rain falling. shockedshocked

20. Ladies and gentlemen, pray hard!! I see a lot weddings coming y'all way, BUT as Asoebi girls and Best men. sadcrysadsad

21. Febuary 14, Valentine's day, will be bloody. Very bloody. ladies, you know what I'm talking about. winkwink

22. Super Eagles will not play in the CAF Nations Cup. undecided

23. This post MIGHT not make FP. sadcry I see Ishilove, TheRealMrStan, Obinoscopy and Lalasticlala, Mukina2 contemplating on moving it to FP or not.

24. Arsenal will not win the league nor the Champions league.

25. APC supporters, pray hard because I see Fashola and Amaechi handing over to another candidate and stepping down AFTER the elections.

26. NEPA/PHCN must cause power outage.

27. Finally, I see the good Lord blessing our hustles this year, crowning the effort of our hands with success, children (for the barren), jobs (for the unemployed), a good man/woman (for the single and lonely), joy (for the sad ones), good results (for those taking exams), and long life for ALL. coolcheesy

Happy new year to all Nairalanders.

Dictator's only understand control, that is why Buhari's manifesto is filled with pronouns "I". What he doesn't understand is that control is a mirage. The most effective leaders right now--men and women--are those who embrace traits once considered feminine:
Empathy.
Vulnerability.
Humility.
Inclusiveness.
Generosity.
Balance.
Patience.

I doubt if he can score 15% on these.
