I just saw the First 4 episodes of Queen of the South on Netflix after much recommendation from here.

Whilst the the show is nice, the writing is a bit lazy, most of the scenes are clichés, and a drug type of show is supposed to contain gritty and violent scenes, it's been censored in this show.


It's No match for Breaking bad or Narcos.

This Mental lady is the biggest lowlife scum I've ever seen. For constantly hating on a kid who's oblivion of the world and never did her no wrong.

There's most phrases we Christians use that are not actually written like that in the Bible, but it has roots that made reference to the phrases.

1. Pride comes before the fall

The Proverbs 16:18 was probably altered to make it easier for understanding. The phrase in the Bible actually says Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

2. God help those who help themselves

Whilst there's no verse in the Bible that reads the above statement, there's a number of other verses that relates true the statement.

Proverbs 28:26
"He who trusts in his own heart is a fool,
But he who walks wisely will be delivered"


1 Peter 1:14-15 says, "As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior."

3. Spare the rod, spoil the child

The popular saying cannot be found anywhere near the Bible but, it isn't totally invalid because, some part of the scripture made mention of it.

Proverbs 23:13-14
"Do not hold back discipline from the child,
Although you strike him with the rod, he will not die.
You shall strike him with the rod
And rescue his soul from Sheol"

Proverbs 13:24: "The one who withholds [or spares] the rod is one who hates his son."


4. Hate the sin, love the sinner

This is not in the bible, as Jesus told us to steer clear of evil in our lives, persuade the sinners to repent. Because, as soon as we starting hating a behaviour, we hate the fact that people engage in that behaviour. it begs the question,

DO WE ACTUALLY HATE SIN, OR DO WE SIMPLY LOVE JUDGMENT?

To hate sin doesn’t mean we point it out at every opportunity, finding satisfaction from the failures of other people. Thus, God doesn’t hate sin arbitrarily. He doesn’t take joy in condemnation (2 Pet. 3:9)

5. Money is the root of all evil

This is often a misconception to the actual passage that says "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils" ( 1 Timothy 6:10 ).

Job and Solomon are a good example of wealthy men in the Bible, money is neither good nor bad but loving money to an extent is the evil in itself.
