It is absolutely understandable how that SU was easily shot down. It is a bomber and is incapable of a dogfight. As much as Russia wants to avoid a confrontation with NATO, so does NATO members want to avoid one with Russia. The body language from the likes of France and Germany suggests so. Erdogan will be sorely mistaken if he thinks NATO will come to his aid.
