This is the fourth book of a Arthur C. Clarke's imaginative phenomenon.

Sounds like Charles Dickens. This is up his alley, but he's too talented to be accused of plagiarism. Well, being accused doesn't make him guilty. My guess is Charles Dickens. But then his most popular book is Oliver Twist, I think. Oh snap. I'll think harder
author's name has three initials

wrote well known trilogy which was made into a motion picture and has a fan following

setting is earth, not top, or bottom, but___________
Waaaay too many clues.

dominique: i've read a couple though i cant remember the titles cos i didnt enjoy them. One was about polluted water that was making the people in the small town act funny. The other was a collection of short stories which i didn't bother to complete (help me out with the titles if you know them). The author is thoroughly overrated imo.

tipa@
J.R.R Tolkien. Authour of Lord or the rings. Abeg make us rack our brains a bit naa.
I think he's over rated too. From a 9/10 to 10/10, lol. He writes too much, I think. He doesn't wanna calm the eff down and put something really mindblowing together. That's why he doesn't have any books that really stand out like most authors do. He's over rated cuz his books end up as movies.

Lemme try one:

- This was the third book where the main character features
- The name of the book's main character is the name of a real life person
- The writer makes everything in his books happen within 24 hours

What's the name of the book and author?

Let's not make this into one of our religious bashings. People have been killed and I'm sure it's not only Christians. Our problem is we cannot distinguish religious intolerance from tribal intolerance because mostly one tribe is predominantly of one religion and the other is of another. This is just so sad. I wish we'd scrap the SUG things. They have never benefited anyone except the students involved. Sometimes, not even them

Anything more than 3 seasons is not for me. Actually, Rurouni Kenshin probably enjoys the nostalgic effect. I watched it when I was 14. I used to be maaaaad about Pokemon then and could recite them like scripture. So, I guess you're right. Please recommend adult stuff that will be really serious and not more than 3 seasons. Elfen Lied is cool but these people are children sad
TV/Movies › Re: The Most Violent Anime You've Ever Watched? by vescucci(m): 3:36pm On Oct 03, 2012
Lol. Dude! I checked your list. You mean to tell me you ranked Rurouni Kenshin, one of my favourite anime EVER, 4/10?!!!! Waaaaat?!!!!!

Smart folks roam these here parts, mi dear. Smart folks, I tells ya. Lemme try one since we've proven to be resourceful:

I heard the author wrote this book while he was sick in the hospital.
The book was made into a movie
The author is bespectacled
He writes a lot about Maine, which I suspect is his hometown but I'm not sure.

Guess the book AND the author.

Literature › Re: Guess The Author Or The Book by vescucci(op): 5:42pm On Oct 01, 2012
Ok. Let there be as many riddles as possible. When answering, you just quote the post of the riddler. Let's hope things won't get ridiculous tongue
Also, formulate the riddle however you want. Just make sure the answer is a book or an authour or both even. And, er, make it sufficiently diffult that a simple google algorithm won't present you with the answer. You can't expect folks to be gentlemen and ladies in this 21st century.

^^^Are you wiegraf?

Lol, it's funny I just started to download One Piece cuz someone recommended him to me. I later realised what you said, it's one long ass show. First season from my torrent downloader preview seems to be 62 episodes!!! I have downloaded about 2.5Gb of it already so I'll just finish it. But I don't think I'll continue. When it's not Dragonauts tongue

Myanimelist, a friend of mine introduced me to it. I have an account but damn, I'm a novice compared to some folks!!! I'll check out your list since it's ranked. Thanks
Literature › Re: Guess The Author Or The Book by vescucci(op): 10:28am On Oct 01, 2012
Lol, sure anyone can participate. You're welcome

I think it's Sue Grafton or something. Never read any of her books. I just see her books when I used to buy books from my University days.
The first clue was just so, you know, easy cheesy If I turn out to be wrong, this will be so embarrassing. The rules don't allow you to say it's correct till a day has passed. I dunno whether to change this. What do you think?
TV/Movies › Re: The Most Violent Anime You've Ever Watched? by vescucci(m): 6:24am On Oct 01, 2012
wiegraf: Amazon. Do you mean to pirate your anime? That's stealing. Don't you feel bad? You should. You might be a horrible, horrible person

9ja bandwidth is $hitty, so what I used to do was use a grabber, like dap's own, and instead of watching the movies from an online viewing site (there are tonnes, just google, I haven't done this in a long time so I can't give you any recent sites, and their lifespans are usually short), I'd download them. The quality of video gotten this way was poor though. If bandwidth is not an issue, simply use torrents. In fact, I think mkv files are rather small so I would use torrents maybe even with bandwidth restrictions, again been a while so I'm not sure. Google for details (tip - dap works best with internet explorer from my experience)
I have fairly unlimited bandwidth. But my external hard drives are almost full though. When it comes to good stuff to watch, I have a fear of some apocalypse that will bring down everything on the internet. So I collect a lot of movies and stuff that I wanna show my kids. ( '-')
As for torrents, some of them have little seeders. Anyways, my favourite anime are those that don't drag on forever like Elfen Lied and Death Note. So, I don't even bother with stuff like Bleach. I've stopped following Naruto. It's starting to make me feel like Kishimoto makes his stories up as he goes.
TV/Movies › Re: The Most Violent Anime You've Ever Watched? by vescucci(m): 6:18am On Oct 01, 2012
I started Elfen Lied yesterday and the first episode made me shout "Good Lord" a couple of times.
TV/Movies › Re: The Most Violent Anime You've Ever Watched? by vescucci(m): 6:17am On Oct 01, 2012
PhysicsQED: I would recommend just watching them online (if you have the bandwidth, that is).

This is a particularly good site: http://www.kuroanime.com/

There are is also some anime on Hulu.com.

If you can't stream them, then your best bet is to search a torrent hosting site like piratebay and just download them (but downloading multiple whole series would take up significant amounts of hard drive space).
Thanks man
