maclatunji: LOL. Now, how would you know that?

I have read your other posts so I know you are fine. Yeah! You are right, this section has awoken from its slumber. Cuddlemii is doing an excellent job.
Mukina told me na. Yeah, Cuddlemii is doing fantastic. There was something she did in one thread that impressed me. Don't ask, can't say lipsrsealed

It is pretty fascinating but I'm sure the truth has been stretched in some places. I'm glad we're all agreed they are coincidences, creepy nonetheless.

Yeah, you could try it if you're not vain. If you are, you may get depressed on there. If you aren't vain, you may still get depressed on there witnessing so much vanity. On second thought............

Why are you in pains?

smiley

I am what people call 'fine' these days

Been on twitter. I have grown weary of it and I left. Now I am back here

I left here before cuz it got boring. This section and the movie section were my favourite places and they both went belly up. This place looks more fun at the moment and I will be probably more active here.

Who will ask the askers? How are you, Cuddlemii?

teeluv: snow white and the huntsman.. rubbish filmmm
Probably rubbish but not as rubbish as I anticipated. I saw it and it had good special effects in some places. But the characters had no depth.

Hi, Maclatunji. Mukina thinks highly of you wink

This is the Chat Central, huh? I'd like to be asked how I am too sad

I have missed this place since all my generation folk went somewhere to die. But this section has been sparked to life, I see.
Literature › Re: Literature/Writing Section's "Chat Central!" by vescucci(m): 7:11pm On Sep 21, 2012
Cuddlemii: Oh, its just a chat room like the ones in some other sections.

Instead of members derailing significant/serious literary threads, this is for chit chats

To avoid hiding posts or banning members, they can have freedom of expressing themselves here

It's also a way of networking & meeting members.

At first, no activity was happening on this thread, but I think the membership & awareness of this section has increased hence the mini fun you see
It's good to have u, I have read abt u, u r one of d movers & shakers of this section(maclatunji makes known of the caucus that exists)
Oh dear. Weettle owd me? I don't move nada oh. I don't think Maclatunji even knows me sef. Caucus, oooh, I'm dizzy.

Sigh.

I'm interested in this. But a little bit more thought has to be put into it. It all smacks of a hurried plan and counter plans which didn't work. Perhaps, instead of prizes, recognition would be better?

That said, what is this thread really about?

Get the Gringo.

Not bad. Simple, engaging and nicely put together. But very forgettable.

semid4lyfe: Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (2009) - added someone on facebook and saw it listed on her profile as one of her favourite movies so I decided to watch it and I wasn't disappointed. It's a very simple but powerful & inspirational movie. 6.5/10

Aeon Flux (2005) - Rubbish! Appalling! Waste of time! Has got to be one of the worst sci-fi movies ever made. Watched it and pressed Shift+Delete immediately it was over. 1/10

Man on a Ledge (2012) - awesome plot. . .as in, who would have thought a man standing on a ledge with the "intention" to jump and commit suicide was a distraction for a heist being committed nearby. I absolutely loved this movie. 8/10

21 Jump Street (2012)- unrealistic storyline, shitty acting but ridiculously stupid & funny. 4/10

Wrath of the Titans (2012)- fast and furious, that's the best way to describe this film. Zero character development, weak plot as it was all about explosions, erupting volcanoes, crumbling rocks, fire, thick smokes, clouds etc etc and all too soon it was over. 4.5/10

Finding Neverland (2004) - about a playwright (Johnny Depp) who becomes a friend to a terminally ill widow (Kate Winslet) & her 4 sons and how this friendship inspires him to produce one of his finest works. Ordinarily, I wouldn't watch this kinda movie beyond 15minutes but I watched it to the end without looking at the run timer or taking a break so I'll rate it 7/10

Remember Me (2010) - Never knew that Twilight fella could act until I saw this movie. Teenage love/romance story interspersed with some family drama. Now were is that thread about movies with the most twisted & unexpected endings? 6.5/10

Jane Eyre (2011) - I felt there should have been more dialogue & interaction between the lead pair as a basis for their very intense and passionate love. Dreary, gloomy and haunting but nevertheless a superb movie.. feel like knocking myself for not watching it since last year when I've had it on my pc. 8.5/10

Johnny English Reborn (2011) - Very little sense but absolutely hilarious. Not bad for a spy comedy movie 5/10

New Year's Eve (2011) - starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Katherine Heigl, Ludacriss, Hillary Swank, Robert DeNiro, Bon jovi, Josh Duhamel, Ashton Kutcher, Zac Effron, Jessica Biel, Halle Berry etc Movie chronicles the activities of different New Yorkers leading up to the New Year. Nothing special about it, only good for a one time watch 5.5/10
Good post. I will be watching Jane Eyre and Man on a Ledge based on this.

TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by vescucci(m): 8:05pm On Jul 22, 2012
Great review. I almost feel like reviewing the review and giving it a 95%. The best part of it is that it is not a spoiler. I'm gonna see it this week along with Spiderman, the amazing.

On a side note and in defence of The Dark Knight Rises, a true trilogy is a very difficult project. To me, a trilogy is not just series of three back to back films. It should be there films, that has events reasonably spaced out over years and (most importantly) then ends. The Lord of the Rings, what is probably the best 'trilogy' is really just a ten hour long film broken into three for convenience. The Godfather is a bonafide trilogy. The Matrix is another, even though the quality faded. The Nolan take on Batman is now gonna be one of the best trilogies in my book, surely.

I watched Snow White and The Huntsman. Inasmuch as everybody delivered B-class acting, I liked some of the effects and that fairy hood. It wasn't an absolute waste of time. By the way, put a mask of Kirsten Stewart on any girl and pay a fraction of the fee. No one would ever know

Kay 17: Simply beat the speed of light. Which might be impossible. I hope I'm wrong.
Theoretically, I will not presume to know anything but I think you can only bend a rule by being outside of it. You cannot simply just beat the speed of light and move through time. Best you can hope to achieve with that is to be in two places at the same time essentially stopping time. But you cannot go back in time or go forwards. I don't think so.

Yeah, naturally you won't have any evil forests if you don't have forests at all. You guys are correct because where there are no forests, there would be another suitable version to obtain this secrecy.

^^^ This makes sense but only for a few cases. But not when 'evil forests' or their equivalent permeates most cultures.

It seems some memes are hard-coded into our genes. Many stories of similar things happening within cultures that have no interaction whatsoever. It makes me wonder sometimes

Kay 17: Yea and the dominance of chemistry in the universe. Probably distance will be the eternal obstruction btw us and them.

On time travel, I enjoy the time theme in the Terminator series. The future becomes part of the past and present, fused into one and destroying the common perception of linear time. We MIGHT be experiencing time travellers, but to unsteady to grasp.
As much as time travel fascinates me, I don't believe it's possible. I don't believe it's possible even theoretically. It's possibility would be outside any laws we know. First, it's possibility would mean an endless number of alternative times. Endless. I don't wanna bore with why I think it's impossible. I believe time can be slowed down or quickened but this is just common sense. But a jump forward? No. A jump backward? An even bigger NO!
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheists: Do You Believe In Extra-terrestials? by vescucci(m): 9:20pm On Jul 16, 2012
There has got to be some form of life somewhere else if we believe life just sprung up here. It's probabilistically solid ground. But I also don't believe the chance of life forms from different planets interacting is likely. It's like time travel. If it were possible, surely someone from the future would have visited us by now. And before now. And later and etc. You can see how this disintegrates into madness.
