Everybody has a different voice type inasmuch u can sing and write good songs, like Me i have a very light male tone and most of my friends admire it but I am still working on myself, burna boy doesn't have a good voice compared to tu face or darey but he's doing well

Okay. U are right on working on oneself. Life can be funny, what people may term unacceptable today can become a vogue tomorrow. I am working towards a special genre of music in fusion with the best voice I can belt out. Writing songs and coming up with melodies in my brain is my stronger point though. Am working towards a genre that will have a cross between nostalgic melodies like New age kinds of sounds (Yanni/Enya) spiced up with vocals and instruments maybe beats ala African sounds like Lionel Petersen (am talking about conga drums, flutes, bells, whistles,, keyboards etc). Complete with rich lyrics (Christian music). And I will have my own kinda arrangements lyrics wise. As a matter of fact, I already know what I want, I just need a seasoned producer to let's make hits. By God's grace I will get there. wink wink

How? I can't say for sure but it is important to keep keeping at it.

Training and truly understanding the rudiments of vocal dynamics will help one in discovering one's true voice and style. Of course, we have those who don't even have 'vocal talent' to their voice that are out there but in the international scene, it is mostly those with that have found that unique factor that are truly remarkable and remembered.

R. Kelly possesses a sweet and sonorous voice but hardly pitches or goes beyond a particular scale; he is revered as one of the greats (of the newer age anyway). Anita Baker was a victim of several rejections specifically for her deep male like voice... today , we know where she is placed in the Hall of Fame.

Not everyone will be an Aretha Franklin... you can be a Louis Armstrong.
Woww.......thanks bro. Am really encouraged by this revelation about R. Kelly cos I reasonate with that. Likewise same about Anita Baker. I promise to be more than Louis Armstrong though, with or without a trombone nay trumpet.. LOL

Some musicians have had wonderful piece of music within them, waiting to be released (lyrics great sounds, good outlay of songs and all), but without a good voice to finish the job. Someone like Barry White encountered same problem and that's what later gave birth to baritone voice in music. I know his' was a rare case, but I feel there should always be a way so far there's a will.
Voice training can help I know, but if it fails, how else can a gifted musician who has other packages but lacks only voice to convey it get helped to unleash the sounds within?

Please I need educativel contributions here, thanks!
Music/Radio / The World's Best Musicians With The Best Melodies Get Their Sounds From Within! by Vesuvius(m): 10:00pm On Apr 18, 2016
Many musicians of nowadays are in it for only the money. Some don't even have the talent but get largely helped by artificial means. Am talking about countless music apps cum software all over the place. After a long research and so much reading about some of the world's best musicians, I have come to realize this and I believe there are two major ways to make music namely:

1, Going to the studio and cooking up beats and generally combining/pairing it to an already written lyric. This is the method commonly used by nowadays artistes as it's faster though not as deep and thorough as the the naturally inspired one. This accounts for many wack music of our present day.
2, This one entails getting inspirations from the spur of the moment and writing it down to be used later. In this method, the lyrics are not difficult to form. Even easier to form are the melodies, maybe sounds if you like. The upper hand this one has is that it's from the heart, and it's like one is already hearing the song playing in the subconscious before it's captured via recording and translated to the physical. In this type, you may not even know music notes and stuff much to go platinum because it's natural.......This accounts for why guys like Michael Jackson and Bob Marley made timeless hits because they simply came into the studio, clearly knowing what to do.

I intended to make this post as short as possible hence, I have to stop here. But the main reason for this post is those who have great sounds within but do not know how to bring them out. with the right mentorship and perseverance, you can be the owner if that timeless piece if music. Comments and criticisms are welcomed.

Crime / Are Amnesty International Really Humanitarian? by Vesuvius(m): 9:10pm On Apr 07, 2016
This topic has been disturbing me for time immemorial hence I just decided to spill it out. In the wake of recent clamourings for the abolishment of capital punishment in Nigeria, I think am on the nick of time as per this post.

So I ask, what is really the mission statement of Amnesty International? I believe the aim of organizations the world over, is to improve the human race. Humanitarian cum NGO organizations like Amnesty International seem to promote that too or so it seems. Yet, I more often than not get gobsmacked by the way these guys protect public enemies, as in downright sociopaths who double as anti life and unrepentantly opposite to everything humanity holds sacred, talk of right to live etc. Why would a person take the life of another and be accorded a different treatment. I was telling my colleagues in the office today that if I intentionally kill someone, it would only be justice being done if I get done in by the law too, either by hanging or firing squad. In as much as I do not pray to go such way, that's what really should be meted to serial killers like terrorists which Boko Haram belongs to. This will firmly deter future culprits and galvanize a sense of justice in the bereaved QED! Any other thing is organized idiocy tinted with monumental insensitivity.

Finally, God who owns the earth even kills when necessary, how much more hypocritical humans. If human rights mean more than sanctity to a human life "which has not transgressed the law", then methinks whatever else is being promoted is rubbish. Are some criminals' lives more equal than other humans? Even if it were so, I don't think Nigeria as a country should listen to them. Let's maintain the status quo like we have always done ala ab nitio done when they were nose poking into our military's noble exploits against the Boko boys. Yeye dey smell..

Just have to post this now because some people are beyond correction coupled with the fact that many people seem guilty of it.

Some people can be your friends in real life and chose to play dumb strangers on Facebook. If they chose to ignore your posts and other updates, fine. But why go the extra mile of asking me what "i was talking about in that my post" when you couldn't comment your reserve there and then? I personally blocks friends who are apathy typified on Facebook and other social media.

I used to think I was guilty till a friend of mine blocked his fiancee then, though now married (and still counting, after one year of getting married), because his wife seldom returned her messages. So, fellow social network users, if you figure yourself continually indisposed to comment or acknowledge a friend on social network, then leave it there, don't bring it outside to Offline Street......LOL.

Romance / Re: Lessons For Men: These Are The 4 B0dy Parts You Must Never Touch In Woman’s B0dy by Vesuvius(m): 2:38pm On Aug 19, 2015
I kinda find this kinds of lists funny. From lists like the 10 ways woman need to be appreciated to the 20 things that make woman stronger. I even forgot to mention endless tutorials on why you should always value your woman......Ahn ahn! Complaints too much joor. So much ado about everything.

Women make a man's world complete, no doubt about that. But let's stop making it appear like the battles do not swing both ways....A WOMAN CAN EASILY SMACK YOU ON THE CHEST ALBEIT PLAYFULLY (just to feel your body). Some will touch your belly, biceps, others your buttocks. Try half of that and they will either start claiming you are on heat or lacking respect. Just as a woman's body needs to be respected, same should be accorded a man too. I place boundary on who touches me; only my fiancee has that exclusive preserve. What is good for the ox is also good for the gander.

I am looking forward to day when Lagosians will troop to the street and protest this lingering insecurity.

Young boys will troop to the street and rob people in broad daylight.

This now happens nearly everywhere in Lagos except elite places like Ikoyi and Banana Island.

These young teens even where uniforms and claim they are cultist.

Police will make random arrest and release them the second day.

Lagos need change.

Where are Lagosians?

The way I read the situation nd how they got the poor boy cheaply makes me have the strong feeling a mistaken identity may have played out here. I witnessed the immediate aftermath. From eye witnesses' accounts, they were three being pursued, they got into FMC premises. Others hid and later ran away. He had himself and was still standing near a building. They called him out and he walked towards them, they then pounced on him, beating him (methinks a real cultist woulda jumped the immediate fence or hid wella). They searched him, took away his valueables and shot him point blank; in the left side of his chest. He there and then gave up the ghost.

The painful part is that he was just a 100 level Accounting student. The assailants were jubilant as five of them made away. May God have mercy on his soul. Only God knows who did what.....Such a poor soul. RIP!

When the chips are down, people who rush-talk as you do end up confusing the few who are better informed.

The committee for the investigation are starting their work on Monday 3rd August 2015. The team are led by officials of NLC and TUC, legal adviser, officials of NMA et al. The jubilation we have here is a precursor to the main thing. They are jubilating because they have finally succeeded in forcing the corrupt hand of Federal Ministry of Health which were compromised, having been bought over by the devilishly corrupt CMD. NLC would have proceeded on sympathy strike nationwide; that was what forced the hands of the powers that be to do the needful. mikolo, GO AND SIN NO MORE!

The OP sef is a classic amateur at taking pictures. Though he tried in reporting the incident, he didn't do ultimate justice to it. I guess he was in a hurry! For those saying what they clearly do not understand, over 99.5% of staff can never be wrong. Those who do not understand the level of this Angela Uwakwem's anti people tendencies should just read a link earlier posted here (FMC Owerri; Buhari must hear this)

The celebrations you are seeing here is just the anti climax. The real ish is still coming (I may do justice to it then) when the investigations are concluded. As can be seen, the staff are decked in black. The real celebration will be done wearing white apparels (the staff had been wearing black to work for almost three months). That's when I will take up the lead.

Truthfully speaking, if you are in FMC Owerri, you will understand that Nigeria is officially messed up. One woman has held a whole state ransom for three months. Upon the fact that she had ruled for ten years. I simply thank God that we made it. NO TIME, I COULDA POSTED THE BEST PICTURES. Those already posted can do for now! Pheeww

Crime / Re: 20-year-old Girl Stabs Lover Boy To Death by Vesuvius(m): 3:42pm On May 21, 2015
dridowu:
Youth set suspect’s family house ablaze
FROM GEORGE ONYEJIUWA,OWERRI

Tragedy struck yesterday at Ubomiri community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State when a 20-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her undergraduate lover to death with a kitchen knife in their house.

The suspect, Chisom Anyanwu who is a student of Akwakuama Girls Secondary School, Owerri had allegedly killed his lover, who visited her following an argument.

The deceased, simply identified as Apo, aged 28, an undergraduate and a native of Egbeada also in Mbaitoli council area had paid an unscheduled visit to his girlfriend at their family house at about noon yesterday.

However, it was learnt that trouble started between the two lovers when the suspect who was cooking, did not take kindly to the deceased’s unscheduled visit to her family house. She asked him to leave immediately as she would not want her elder brothers and sisters to see him.

But the deceased allegedly refused to leave and in the altercation that ensued between the two lovers, Chisom allegedly grabbed the kitchen knife and stabbed Apo on the chest.

The deceased, who was said to be the only son of his parents, according to an eyewitness, was rushed to the Christian Medical Centre, Nworieubi in the area where he eventually died.

However, angry youths of Egbeada community, on hearing of the death of their kinsman, stormed the family house of the suspect and allegedly set it ablaze.

The state police command’s spokesman, Mr. Andrew Enwerem (DSP), said the suspect is in their custody, while investigation on the matter has commenced.

This news is not correct. The said girl is 15 years. The victim was a footballer intending to travel abroad. After the quarrel, he had returned to ask the girl to return back the phone he bought for her. The young girl was peeling orange and allegedly used the knife on the deceased.......Tis a pity!

The answer is simple..There is a saying that "Elderly man wey no wan make pple drag am for ground, make hinself no play fall for ground"..If Buhari performs like GEJ, the same thing awaits him.(God forbid)

In the history of Nigeria, GEJ is and will remain the most ridiculed/criticized president ever..May we never have a president that will run Nigeria like a "Come-and-Chop Restaurant".
