Politics / Yorubas!! Quit The Hatred For Igbos?? by Vesuvius(m): 6:14pm On Apr 06, 2015 |
I have to open this thread to serve as a sequel to the prequel from my fellow Yoruba brothers nay Igbo antagonists. See, this country called Nigeria has always been, and is still said to belong to all of us. In the light of that, I make bold to say am happy that people from other ethnic groups could win elections in Lagos, what better way to buttress home the national belief! Pray, wait. Amidst the celebrations, I hear some murmurings that "Lagos is a Yoruba state"........."Igbos are trying to lord it over the Yorubas and take over Lagos. Nigeria belongs to all of us. After the civil war, the Igbos were encouraged to reconcile with other tribes all under the slogan of "no victor, no vanquished". To this end, I plead with my Yoruba brothers to sheath their swords and stop the alarm against the Igbos. Calls us what you may but, you can never call us inhospitable or the worst tribalists. I chose my words carefully here because, I know that every Nigerian has that element of tribalism in them. But the Igboman's hardly comes up unnecessary. If at all it comes up, his opposite must have stoked up the flames first. From my observations of all ethnic groups in Nigeria, I realize that the Igbos are quicker than others in learning other's languages. We all know one has to love a language before they learn it. This really goes a long way to explain the Igboman's detribalized nature. I schooled in the north, has lived in the west and is presently in the east, Imo state to be precise. I speak Igbo, Hausa fluently. From the foregoing, I do not say that the Igbo tribe is perfect but I want to make it clear that the Igbos find it easy to mix more that any other tribe in Nigeria. I have many Yoruba friends who used to be afraid of the Igbos but due to their NYSC postings to Igboland, they are now better informed. Many of them have even married from Igboland. So many examples abound to this end. But just to cut a long story short, pls live and let live. Jimi Agbaje for Lagos, 2015!! 2 Likes |

mogentle:Ptttttffffff......too bad of you bro. The simple fact is that Igbos are found in every part of Nigeria cum the world, maybe where others are not willing to go. That an Igbo man can come to a domain that's not his, struggle to make it and then build house there tells you that he doesn't segregate. That Igbos are quickest to adapt wherever they find themselves is not an exaggeration. Sentiments apart, Igbos usually learn other Nigerian languages easier than their counterparts. I've been around Nigeria. I have friends from the North, West and Southern parts of Nigeria. And believe you me when I say that Yorubas are the slowest in learning another ethnic group's language. A simple psychology tells you that for you to learn another man's language, you have to be unbiased, interested in the language, love the language and also intelligent. This an Igbo man does effortlessly hence don't hate him rather appreciate it. I thank God a new maturity is sweeping among some Yoruba die hards in this Imo state. At least many of them have started buying lands and building too unlike what used to be the norm. Love breeds trust, while hatred breeds unnecessary bias and resentment. Thank you. I guess you know what Soludo did to our banks? That guy, Okonjo-Iweala, Ezekwesili et al were the ministera that made Obj's government tick. Don't let sentiments becloud your judgements. Politics / Breaking! Rochas Okorocha Allegedly Nabs Fake Ballot Papers At Akwakuma Junction by Vesuvius(m): 2:46pm On Mar 29, 2015 |
There's a serious gridlock now along Orlu Road as Rochas Okorocha and other APC candidates allegedly waylay some INEC officials along the Akwakuma junction. The APC team which comprises of Rochas Okorocha, Osita Izunaso, Ben Uwajimogu, Uche Onyeagocha, and othe APC stalwarts are acting on a tip off and have already cordoned off the main road having caught the INEC official with the ballot papers red handed......Be right back for more updates and pictures.........The video is too large. Lemme shrink it, brb.

PedroJP:No mind them. To think that GEJ had the worst distractions any president has ever had in the history and still gets blamed for everything. Nigeria is already the proverbial fly perched on the scrotum which needs a lot of carefulness to kill or there would be serious collateral damage of sorts! The funny thing is that whoever wins, I see the old problems rearing up their hydra head though depending on how astute the sitting president would be in handling them. Cos, if the north wins, I see the boys going back to creeks. If GEJ wins, I pray the war against Boko Haram gets finished to the latter. The way I see it, Buhari's victory may leads us towards resource control and true federalism cos I sense that the pipelines may start feeling the vandals touch again. If my assumptions are right, that may be the only positivity Buhari's victory may bring.Tufiakwa things sha.! Lol. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Romance / Re: Do Guys Like This Really Exist? by Vesuvius(m): 10:41pm On Feb 22, 2015 |
HizMissy:Phew! there you have your answer. I guess the Op just wanna intentionally get into you guys' head. Lol. Actually, it's possible to wait if you have God by your side coupled with certain uncommon traits. Sincerely speaking, the regular girl cann't handle a guy who is celibate on purpose. Their curious minds will always wonder why you are keeping yourself. From suspecting whether you are man enough to thinking whether you are hiding behind some health-challenge secrets et al. On the whole, it's very funny how women will always say one thing and mean another. Been there and done that; believe you me, I have degree in self control from many years experience, family background and philosophical introspection. I have learnt that as a man, if you can really control your sexual urge, the charm nay allure which women exercise over you will come down with a crash and they will become powerless. Cos that's the major thing if not the only thing most have going for them in the leverage of romance matters. Most young males don't know that women are born pretenders, they love sex more than you self but make you act foolish in the name of it when you can be the boss....Lol. lookingforjob:Time was when i used to take your ilk seriously. In many ways than one, I have come to realize that Yorubas who are given to tribalistic rants like you either have never set their foot outside their domain; on the eastern part of Nigeria. When you guys blame Ojukwu, i wonder how you people would have reacted when faced with a looming genocide on your race. Unbiased minds know Ojukwu did what he had to do: Fight for the existence of his people. Granted that each part of Nigeria have their peculiarities in pronunciations but you needn't have to tell a lie to drive home your point. Fr. Mbaka sure has a thick Igbo accented way of reeling out our lingua franca, but he neither mentioned Oil nor Oyel in the said video. You can do better than that lame drivel, man. I have some of my best friends including pastors as Yorubas, hence will not see you as the archetypal Yoruba individual. If anything, your type gets lost under the cloud of inferiority complex when in the mixed circle of diverse ethnic groups tori olorun. Still, make no mistake about my Nigerianess. I grew up in the north, Kaduna to be precise. And see myself as a northerner by association, to put it better; Kadite. Walahi talahi, I have always rooted for the continued existence of Nigeria. So when you speak about Biafra, be sure you know what you are talking about. On a whole, Buhari is being touted as the needed saviour. Fine by you, his supporters. But please permit others the right to pick their own candidate too without mixing it with tribalistic sentiments. NB: Since your username says you are looking for a job, I have chosen to overlook your puerile tirade, juxtaposing it alongside unemployment induced emotional imbalance................Take several chill pills bro. |

Nice development if its true. But this news appears fake. Does it mean the strike was in vain? On what grounds really was the strike called off? Am asking because the government would definitely have made JOHESU look stupid, toothless and spineless if all they can show for the strike is presidential pleas-induced-calling-off. This is the last strike they will ever embark on if all the hassles ended without any headway. |
Romance / Re: I Have Five Suitors And I Let My Boyfriend Know by Vesuvius(m): 1:35pm On Dec 06, 2014 |
Babymama1:Hmmmm........this ur advice sha. Truth be told, men know what they want and are easy to make up their mind but you saying that 3 months is very much enough to come to a conclusion is somewhat an overkill. I know it's wrong to string a good sister along but has it ever occurred to you that some good guys can also be very picky when it comes to picking a partner? You make it seem like it's only women that have all the rights or get played. My dear some guys also have tales. E be like say your guy is a yes man (no offence). That your husband married you not minding that you are a bad cook is not a guarantee that it will work for others. If anything, the real worthy guys make sure the package's exterior is in tandem with the content before they say I do. I grade guys who see a lady immediately and start talking about marriage as foolish and tasteless. What happened to taking time to know someone better. What if the babe is pretending like most women do when they sense you are coming for marriage? A MAN HAS EQUAL RIGHTS TO ENTERTAIN DOUBTS UNLESS HE IS OPEN TO DIVORCE IN THE FUTURE!. On the other hand, I believe 6 months to 12 months is enough for any serious dude to really make his decision. Some of the advices being bandied about here are clearly from newlyweds. When your marriage has crossed at least 5 years and above, your advice may start being an authority, as for now lets take them as they come and move on. Many of you women don't know how hard it is for a man to plan and execute a wedding amidst it's attendant challenges. BTW: I feel like you call the shots in the marriage, hope am wrong? 3 Likes |

Romance / Re: Why Do Most Women Find It Hard To Pick Their Calls Immediately? by Vesuvius(m): 1:41pm On Nov 29, 2014 |
Medunah:My dear the question ain't whether she was with her phone. The question is why she would leave her phone at an uncomfortable distance for such a length of time. My cousin embarked on a needless journey few months back because she wouldn't pick her call to get the information which could have saved her the stress. Imagine motoring from Lagos to Delta state for an appointment which had been shifted. |
