dridowu: Youth set suspect’s family house ablaze FROM GEORGE ONYEJIUWA,OWERRI
Tragedy struck yesterday at Ubomiri community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State when a 20-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her undergraduate lover to death with a kitchen knife in their house.
The suspect, Chisom Anyanwu who is a student of Akwakuama Girls Secondary School, Owerri had allegedly killed his lover, who visited her following an argument.
The deceased, simply identified as Apo, aged 28, an undergraduate and a native of Egbeada also in Mbaitoli council area had paid an unscheduled visit to his girlfriend at their family house at about noon yesterday.
However, it was learnt that trouble started between the two lovers when the suspect who was cooking, did not take kindly to the deceased’s unscheduled visit to her family house. She asked him to leave immediately as she would not want her elder brothers and sisters to see him.
But the deceased allegedly refused to leave and in the altercation that ensued between the two lovers, Chisom allegedly grabbed the kitchen knife and stabbed Apo on the chest.
The deceased, who was said to be the only son of his parents, according to an eyewitness, was rushed to the Christian Medical Centre, Nworieubi in the area where he eventually died.
However, angry youths of Egbeada community, on hearing of the death of their kinsman, stormed the family house of the suspect and allegedly set it ablaze.
The state police command’s spokesman, Mr. Andrew Enwerem (DSP), said the suspect is in their custody, while investigation on the matter has commenced.
http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=120628 This news is not correct. The said girl is 15 years. The victim was a footballer intending to travel abroad. After the quarrel, he had returned to ask the girl to return back the phone he bought for her. The young girl was peeling orange and allegedly used the knife on the deceased.......Tis a pity! |

I am sure subsequent presidents will learn from the ignominy GEJ has suffered.. Many will say 'can Buhari take/bear all the insults/criticismz GEJ has been taking'? The answer is simple..There is a saying that "Elderly man wey no wan make pple drag am for ground, make hinself no play fall for ground"..If Buhari performs like GEJ, the same thing awaits him.(God forbid)
In the history of Nigeria, GEJ is and will remain the most ridiculed/criticized president ever..May we never have a president that will run Nigeria like a "Come-and-Chop Restaurant". Bros ur head dey. May nothing do you for prick . Removing his portraits already, even when he is still the president? Hmmmm.......Anyway we are all taking notes of how to dish "things" out. I have to open this thread to serve as a sequel to the prequel from my fellow Yoruba brothers nay Igbo antagonists. See, this country called Nigeria has always been, and is still said to belong to all of us. In the light of that, I make bold to say am happy that people from other ethnic groups could win elections in Lagos, what better way to buttress home the national belief! Pray, wait. Amidst the celebrations, I hear some murmurings that "Lagos is a Yoruba state"........."Igbos are trying to lord it over the Yorubas and take over Lagos.
Nigeria belongs to all of us. After the civil war, the Igbos were encouraged to reconcile with other tribes all under the slogan of "no victor, no vanquished". To this end, I plead with my Yoruba brothers to sheath their swords and stop the alarm against the Igbos. Calls us what you may but, you can never call us inhospitable or the worst tribalists. I chose my words carefully here because, I know that every Nigerian has that element of tribalism in them. But the Igboman's hardly comes up unnecessary. If at all it comes up, his opposite must have stoked up the flames first. From my observations of all ethnic groups in Nigeria, I realize that the Igbos are quicker than others in learning other's languages. We all know one has to love a language before they learn it. This really goes a long way to explain the Igboman's detribalized nature. I schooled in the north, has lived in the west and is presently in the east, Imo state to be precise. I speak Igbo, Hausa fluently.
From the foregoing, I do not say that the Igbo tribe is perfect but I want to make it clear that the Igbos find it easy to mix more that any other tribe in Nigeria. I have many Yoruba friends who used to be afraid of the Igbos but due to their NYSC postings to Igboland, they are now better informed. Many of them have even married from Igboland. So many examples abound to this end. But just to cut a long story short, pls live and let live. Jimi Agbaje for Lagos, 2015!! |

mogentle: Fulani has dominated Ilorin that was primarily owned by Yorubas. The Lagos experience is the way it started. Igbos are ready to dominate and control things in Lagos. Can Adeolu or Ahmed contest for a post and win in Enugu State even if he spent donkey years there? Impossible. I urge Lagosians, reject the Igbo dominance in Lagos politics. JK is flying his ambition's kite too much on the platter of ethnicity just like GEJ. That should not be allowed. God bless Nigeria. Ptttttffffff......too bad of you bro. The simple fact is that Igbos are found in every part of Nigeria cum the world, maybe where others are not willing to go. That an Igbo man can come to a domain that's not his, struggle to make it and then build house there tells you that he doesn't segregate. That Igbos are quickest to adapt wherever they find themselves is not an exaggeration. Sentiments apart, Igbos usually learn other Nigerian languages easier than their counterparts. I've been around Nigeria. I have friends from the North, West and Southern parts of Nigeria. And believe you me when I say that Yorubas are the slowest in learning another ethnic group's language. A simple psychology tells you that for you to learn another man's language, you have to be unbiased, interested in the language, love the language and also intelligent. This an Igbo man does effortlessly hence don't hate him rather appreciate it. I thank God a new maturity is sweeping among some Yoruba die hards in this Imo state. At least many of them have started buying lands and building too unlike what used to be the norm. Love breeds trust, while hatred breeds unnecessary bias and resentment. Thank you. Igbo kweenu!! |

Did Jonathan not know he was Obama Best man when he married Michelle Obama before droppinh him from the cabinet then
If Ajumogobia didnt contribute anything whether overtly or covertly to APC in rivers or to Buhari.......he will never be appointed. It is as simple as that
The party leaders from all the regions know people who assisted them even if they did it under the radar because of fear of PDP,it is those persons that can be considered but to think that some one will just walk into Government on the strenght of just his pedigree is a joke of the highest order
People like Pat Utomi who drafted APC's manifestoes amongst other people stand to gain than an ajumogobia who didnt stand up to be counted
Also dont be surprised if you hear that Festus Odimegwu who spoke vehemently against Jonathan 3eeks to the election contributed heavily to Buhari or APC campaign......it is people like him that will get considered
Festus Keyamo also stood up to be counted when it mattered most by going against the tide and supporting someone other than a fellow NDeltan will sure get a slot in this Government
So all the cowards who didnt lend any resource either material or immaterial to APc's victory will act as spectators and the heaven will not fall Hmmmm......so much noise for change!! |

Nigeria is already the proverbial fly perched on the scrotum which needs a lot of carefulness to kill or there would be serious collateral damage of sorts! The funny thing is that whoever wins, I see the old problems rearing up their hydra head though depending on how astute the sitting president would be in handling them. Cos, if the north wins, I see the boys going back to creeks. If GEJ wins, I pray the war against Boko Haram gets finished to the latter. lookingforjob: It is sad to see many anti-progressives call Buhari names because of his tribal accent. Igbo's , Yoruba and Hausa's all have various ways of speaking and pronunciation due to our mother tongue. When i watched father Mbaka's video, his accent was obvious when he pronounced OIL as OYEL but does that makes him an illiterate? General Buhari reads, writes and gives speeches in English, He had a lauded and excellent interview on Aljazeera, Channels, eta'l but the hatred by some Nigerians will never let them see the fact that this is the only man who can deliver the change the common man crave for.
The most supporters of this present administration are the Igbo's. They see this as an opportunity for them to avenge what was done to them during the civil war. They never blamed Ojukwu who started a suicide mission and ran to ivory coast leaving them to their fate. This is why they will never see anything good in Buhari even if GEJ does nothing, they are contented.
THEY ARE HAPPY THE ELECTION WAS POSTPONED. THEY ARE SO EASY TO DECEIVE. GEJ fooled the igbos with Azikwe and promise of a bridge that's still on paper. They see GEJ as the closest they can get to aso rock. voting him is their way of flexing their political muscle but we shall put them to shame.
Had APC presented Fashola, Atiku or Kwankwaso , they will still find reasons to vote for GEJ and label Apc candidates bad. This hate is not about buhari, it's the way they feel they can get revenge for refusing to allow them form their Biafran territory. The Igbos believe another 4 years of GEJ presidency might bring about the end of Nigeria. Their selfish motive is to establish Biafra. They call Yoruba's slave to the North and all sort of names. They are a petty tribe. Its unfortunate the disunity of this country originates from their region. They call for disintegration of the country but you will find them in every parts of the country selling fake drugs and fake goods produced in aba. They can't stay in their eastern region yet they want biafra. they even claim to own Lagos and its no mans land. Let's assume the country was divided today, will lagos be in the biafran map empty chest beaters. no wonder you find their people on death row all over Asia due to drug trafficking. instead of voting for a competent government, they prefer to suffer and resort to crimes for living. they are sadists, they travel home on 31/12 and return back on 02/01 and still hate such land that host their businesses.
In 2011, we all saw GEJ as a messiah and we voted him en-masse irrespective of his tribe and religion. We thought he would deliver us from years of misrule due to his humble look and name GOODLUCK. Nigerians did not vote PDP but GEJ. Then Yoruba's were not tagged slaves for trooping out to vote for him en-masse.
They said APC and Buhari promised to make Nigeria ungovernable. My question is why can't these people be arrested if the statements tagged to them were true GEJ is the commander in chief of all forces in Nigeria and it baffles me how a civilian in Buhari can make his government ungovernable while he sits and watch without taking actions. Isn't that a high level of incompetence?
Good luck Jonathan is the worst president we ever had in this country. The misfortunes of his administrations exceeds the so called transformations. I urge everyone to vote wisely
##March4Buhari Time was when i used to take your ilk seriously. In many ways than one, I have come to realize that Yorubas who are given to tribalistic rants like you either have never set their foot outside their domain; on the eastern part of Nigeria. When you guys blame Ojukwu, i wonder how you people would have reacted when faced with a looming genocide on your race. Unbiased minds know Ojukwu did what he had to do: Fight for the existence of his people. Granted that each part of Nigeria have their peculiarities in pronunciations but you needn't have to tell a lie to drive home your point. Fr. Mbaka sure has a thick Igbo accented way of reeling out our lingua franca, but he neither mentioned Oil nor Oyel in the said video. You can do better than that lame drivel, man. I have some of my best friends including pastors as Yorubas, hence will not see you as the archetypal Yoruba individual. If anything, your type gets lost under the cloud of inferiority complex when in the mixed circle of diverse ethnic groups tori olorun. Still, make no mistake about my Nigerianess. I grew up in the north, Kaduna to be precise. And see myself as a northerner by association, to put it better; Kadite. Walahi talahi, I have always rooted for the continued existence of Nigeria. So when you speak about Biafra, be sure you know what you are talking about. On a whole, Buhari is being touted as the needed saviour. Fine by you, his supporters.
