DaudaAbu:Anambra and Enugu are part of SE. We would rather look at what the entire SE got, in comparison to what other geo political zones got. So, this your attempt at masking the injustice going on with huge allocation to SW, by isolating Anambra and Enugu that got the lion share of SE allocation is DOA. |
Spy360:This is ridiculous. Talent wise, Arsenal has a better squad than Chelsea. Tony Pulis thinks so too. Wenger incompetence is making the team look weaker than they should be. |
That second goal from Micheal, even CR7 would be proud of that goal. The technique and execution is world class, that Michael has footballing brain. |
ezeagu:Ikwerre will eventually come around, Onitsha did even with their Bini stories. |
ezeagu:Where did you get the idea that Ikwerres would rather be with Ijaws than with Ndiigbo? They are already part of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo, I don't see any of them attending Ijaw cultural meetings. They have tested Ijaw domination in old Rivers state, so I guess they have a pretty much idea of what to expect in an Ijaw dominated Niger delta republic. They must stay with us, we will do all that is necessary to make Biafra attractive to them, even if it means signing UN supervised treaties that will ensure their total autonomy within the Biafran entity, something like Taiwan and China. As for Opobo, it remains the family estate of the Jajas, the Ijaws there has no say in the matter, only the Jajas will determine the fate of Opobo. |
Biafra will get Bakassi back from Cameroun. Whatever treaty Gowon signed with Alhijo will not be binding on Biafra! http://www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/110970-bakassi-do-they-know-it-is-christmas-by-eddy-aghanenu.html Biafra will wipe the tears of the long suffering people of Bakassi, not one inch of Biafran land will be given away without firing a single shot, no longer will Biafan territory be given away on a platter of Gold by Arewa( Gowon) and Odua( OBJ) without a single fight. Where Nigeria failed them, Biafra will not! Isee!! |
Observant:The Ijaw threat can nolonger be ignored. We want peace with them, but it must not be at the expense of our territorial integrity. Ijaws should learn to speak for Ijaws only. |
Btw, let it be known that Ndiigbo are not against total resource control for all ethnicities in Nigeria, infact the Ohanaeze Ndiigbo with an Ikwerre VP had already proposed that and even more and submitted to the NASS.http://www.igbofocus.co.uk/Ohanaeze/OHE2/ohe2.html What we are against is Ijaws posturing as the mouth piece of all groups in Niger delta, including Igbo groups there( YES THERE ARE IGBO GROUPS IN ND), We want Ijaws to learn to speak for the Ijaw ethnic group only, or at best for themselves and the Edoids. How hard is that? Unless Ijaws have an ultimate agenda, I don't see why they can't just speak for themselves and the Edoids only. |
Goodboiyy:Stop disturbing Ugomba. Pick any of my "poo" and refute any one of them. I am ready to rumble. Btw, umunnaa, did you people notice something, here? The above poster, seem to be more mad about the exposure about Ijaw than Ijaws themselves? Are you people thinking what I am thinking? |
basilo101:They are not confused. They have a clear cut agenda. 1. Reduce Igbo influence in the deep south by getting Igbo groups there to either denounce their Igbo identity or declare their independence from the larger Igbo group or even join their ever growing groups of non Ijaw speaking but politicised Ijaw groups like Degema and Ogbia. 2. Join all those groups in Niger delta, confuse them into thinking they( Ijaw) are fighting for the benefit of all in the group. 3. Use the population of the New Niger delta as a bargaining chip to promote Ijaw agenda, by making Ijaw agenda appear like a Niger deltan agenda. We saw this play out in the emergence of relatively unknown GEJ over attah, Duke and Odili in the race to Yaradua VP, where Edwin Clark the Ijaw leader, insisted that Odili cannot represent Niger delta( Ijaw). And we saw it in the Amnesty program beneficiaries. To achieve aim 1, Ijaws have been on perpetual propaganda of painting Igbos as domineering, land grabbers, greedy and unreasonable before our Igboid brothers. So much that those ethnicities have come to associate Ndiigbo with all those lies. Its time we put the Ijaw dealings and schemes in Niger delta under great public scrutiny. |
The moment Ijaws and Edoids understands that they can only speak for themselves, and stop hiding behind the nebulous term Niger delta to spew rubbish. Threads like this will stop coming up. If Barcanista had captioned this thread: WHAT IJAWS AND EDOIDS WANT FROM NIGERIA,I don't think much of this argument here would have risen. Bottom line: Ijaws and Edoids, know your territories, your land grabbing tactics using Niger delta will not be tolerated by Ndiigbo. |
When the civil war started in 1967 and Biafra lost control of Port Harcourt to the Federal forces, the newly created Rivers State was handed over to the Ijaw. Ijaw leaders continued to maintain that Rivers State, with Port Harcourt as its capital, was created for them as reward for ceding their coastal terrain to the Federal side, thus making the sea blockade of Biafra possible. The Ijaw groups claimed to constitute the majority and continued to dominate the state both during military and civilian dispensations. With time, however, the Igbo speaking people of the state, particularly the Ikwerre nationality, decided they wanted a state of their own where they would be able to assert their own political and economic interests. Ijaw are not land grabbers? Really? |
basilo101:You forgot to bold AJOKU ALERECHI. He is an Ikwerre man too. |
Goodboiyy:You will be naive to think that Ikwerres through their elders like Eze Rebisi, Obi wali, after they needed the help of their Igbo brothers to escape from Ijaw. land grabbing and domination in the old Rivers state will be silly to be roped into another Ijaw dominated region. They may be scared of the larger Igbo group, but they know where they belong. Soon after Ebonyi, it will be Enugu turn to rule Ohanaeze Ndiigbo, and then IMO, and then Rivers state will be given the chance to head Ohanaeze Ndiigbo, and an Ikwerre man will head Ohanaeze Ndiigbo, like an Anioma did when it was Delta turn. The rotational presidency of Ohanaeze is like this: Abia~ Anambra~Delta~Ebonyi~Enugu~Imo~Rivers~Abia. Currently we are at Ebonyi. As we talk, Ikwerre sons are well represented in Ohanaeze Ndiigbo as VP and Assistant fin Sec of the group. You don't see any of them in your Edoid or Ijaw cultural group. We would allay their fears by letting them retain their total autonomy, but you land grabbers and vultures hoping to divide Igboland and share the spoils will not get your hands on their lands. |
TonyeBarcanista:Well, the above are your words, but below are your actions: africanheraldexpress.com/blog8/2013/10/04/niger-delta-as-ijaw-colony-a-word-of-caution/ http://www.nigeriannewspapers.today/crack-in-niger-delta-over-alleged-favouritism-of-ijaws-by-jonathan/ You know what they say about actions? Yea, they speak louder than words. |
Goodboiyy:This is good. Just stop at your Ijaws+ Edoid( Urhobo, Itsekiri, Isoko,Edo- Igbo speaking areas in Edo) = 1 And we won't have any problem, you can even add Ibibios if you care, but don't just take your land grabbing ish to any inch of Igbo speaking territory, cos your leperous hands will be burnt. |
FacebookTwitterSMSWhatsApp By Ochereome Nnanna ALTHOUGH there were varied positions on the matter, in the end the General Sani Abacha administration created Bayelsa out of Rivers State in 1996” The circumstances behind my joining a delegation for the burial of His Royal Majesty, Sunday Nnanta Woluchem, the Epara Rebisi XI of Port Harcourt on Saturday, April 21, 2012 is encapsulated in the above quote taken from his burial programme. As the author of his yet to be published biography, former Chief of General Staff, retired Commodore Okoh Ebitu Ukiwe, asked me to join his delegation to bury a royal father who, along with Ukiwe and others, played leading roles in the creation of today’s Rivers and Bayelsa states between 1993 and 1996. This was what led to the quest for the creation of Port Harcourt State. However, the Ijaws felt if such a state was created they would become estranged in a city they have been part and parcel of since it was founded by the colonialists. In fact, they had even started portraying Port Harcourt as the capital of a future Ijaw state. Thus was born a great rivalry between the Ijaw-speaking and Igbo-speaking groups for the control of Rivers and between what was termed the “Okrika-Ijaw” and “Ikwerre-Igbo” over the “ownership” of Port Harcourt. The gruesome murder of Dr Obi Wali, the leader of the Ikwerre political front by yet-to-be ascertained assassins in 1992, owed to this tussle, which often led to street battles between Okrikans and Ikwerres. Meanwhile, the late father of Nigeria’s nationalism, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, had discussed the best strategies for reducing the animosity between the Igbos and their Minority neighbours as well as dousing the ethnic tension between Ikwerres and their riverine co-indigenes of Rivers State. It was agreed that as the touted largest Minority group, the Ijaw needed a state of their own. But with their emotional attachment to Port Harcourt, how would Rivers State be split without creating a permanent ethnic war front in Nigeria’s premier oil city? With the Ijaw groups obviously being favoured by the Northern-led Federal Government, Eze Woluchem, a lawyer who was installed paramount ruler of Port Harcourt in 1977 turned to Dr Azikiwe, appealing for him to support the aspirations of his Igbo kinsmen in the struggle. An ageing “Zik” referred the Eze’s delegation to Commodore Ukiwe, who had become Zik’s close political confidant. The Eze’s delegation of four, which included the late Chief Okogbule Wonodi and Chief Andrew Uchendu, met with Ukiwe in his office in Victoria Island. Their proposal was that Port Harcourt State should only be for Igbo-speaking Rivers people, while the Ijaw-speaking part would be named New Rivers State. On the other hand, the Kalabaris did not want to be parted with Rivers State, neither did the Okrikas, and Ukiwe advised that it would be “unstrategic” to cut out Bonny, Opobo, Kalabari and Okrika, apart from the fact that the Head of State, General Abacha, who was pro-Ijaw, might be pushed not to create any new state at all. Between Ukiwe and the Ikwerre delegation, and taking into account the expressed needs of others, the maps of the present Rivers State and Bayelsa State were drawn and presented to Abacha, who found it acceptab |
Goodboiyy:How exactly a're Ikwerres one people with the Ijaws and Edoids? Are you alright? |
IGBOSON1:Don't mind them, let them keep hallucinating. Ndiigbo had to break Awo hands and dissolve Western region for the sake of our Anioma brothers trapped in the Western region in 1939 by Bernard Bourdillion, by spending millions to ensure the creation of Midwestern region and empowering Osadebey to take charge there. We broke Ijaws hand to separate them from our brothers who naively and willingly played into Ijaw hands by getting trapped in the old Rivers state. We had to force Ijaws into Bayelsa and turn them to minorities in Rivers to allow the Igboids take control of the New state. We have fried bigger fishes than the current Ijaw agenda. We don't give a f.uck about the Edoids( Edo (without Igbanke and other Igbo towns there) Urhobo, Isoko, Itsekiri). They can join Ijaw or go to h.ell, we don't care. But Igbo groups in the current SS, they can't take with them. |
avouritism Of Ijaws By Jonathan NigerianNation 08/05/2015 General News A socio-political group in the South-South, Ekpeye Youth Congress (EYC), has dismissed claims in some quarters that the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan empowered the people of the region. Former President Goodluck Jonathan The group made this known in a statement jointly signed by its president-general and acting secretary, Emenike Uriah Musa and Anthony Onyemachi. The group dismissed the purported assertion made by Senator Shehu Sani, that the people of the Niger Delta were the major beneficiaries of Jonathan’s administration. Goodboiyy:Well, I would rather take the words of real people in real world than fake online identities I can't confirm. |
How can the authenticity of this letter be proved? Any major news outlet carried this news? Cos I can concoct one in favour of Biafra, and post it here. OP, where is your source? |

sandraokosun1:There are no "we", what exists is Edoids people republic. Niger delta or SS is an Ijaw republic. Be proud of your Edoids nation for once, and stop attaching to unrelated ethnic groups Edoids don't even share boundaries with. Once again: Niger Delta is an Ijaw republic, even the Ogonis know that.http://saharareporters.com/2012/08/02/ogoni-declares-self-government Nigerdelta is another name for Ijaw republic. The first Niger delta republic was an Ijaw only one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Adaka_Boro The second one is likely to be the same: http://africanheraldexpress.com/blog8/2013/10/04/niger-delta-as-ijaw-colony-a-word-of-caution/ http://www.nigeriannewspapers.today/crack-in-niger-delta-over-alleged-favouritism-of-ijaws-by-jonathan/ Edoids should show stop disgracing themselves, even small Ogonis is not shouting Niger delta like Edoids because they know that Niger delta republic is an Ijaw one. So why exactly are Edoids clinging so tight to an Ijaw republic, are they parasitic or what? Or is this pure display of imbecilic tendency from Edoids? What would happen if they show some dignity and start campaigning for the Edoids people republic? Will they die? |
edoyad:Walcott, Ramsey and Chamberlain injuries might yet be a blessing in disguise. They might help us unleash the beasts that have been hidden in Campbell and Iwobi, like Debuchy, flamini, Arteta injuries helped us unleash the beasts in Coquelin and Bellerin. On the transfer ish, I don't think any other big teams in current club world football can take away players from English big teams, not with this incoming big TV right money. Look at what Everton did to Chelsea, look at Man u and De gea. Premier league clubs can now afford to pay their players whatever weekly wages the likes of PSG, Madrid and Barca can offer them. We can offer Coquelin whatever financial reward PSG or any other club will try to entice him with. |

For those people saying that Ndiigbo are against resource control, here is Ohanaze Ndiigbo proposal to NASS, for Nigeria restructuring, go through it well, and be the judge. http://www.igbofocus.co.uk/Ohanaeze/OHE2/ohe2.html Well, now you know why outright secession is the only solution. ![]() |
simplycarro:The OP is Ijaw, he should speak on what Ijaw want from Nigeria, and not pretend to care about what other groups in Niger delta wants. The Ijaw so far have shown tendency to corner whatever is meant for the rest of Niger delta to themselves, after they have gotten those goodies by posturing to be the mouth piece of the entire ethnicities of Niger delta. What groups like Ogonis want is outright secession from Nigeria as an independent group and nation, because they have realized that nothing good can come out of Nigeria. For the Ijaws, after the GEJ experiment, they have realized that they could be the 4th major ethnic group in Nigeria, or even displace the Igbo from the tripod, if they could unite the entire ethnicities in SS under Niger delta, and make themselves the mouth piece of the group, while they keep cornering the proceeds from the Niger delta hustle. Niger delta is an Ijaw agenda that Ndiigbo will not allow to stand. Ijaws must stand alone and speak for themselves. |
When Ijaws say what Niger delta want from Nigeria, what they mean is what Ijaws what from Nigeria. To an average Ijaw man, Ijaw is Niger delta and Niger delta is Ijaw. The Ijaws were screaming before 2007 that the Niger delta had been excluded from occupying the high posts in Nigeria. When the chance was given to Niger delta, guess who got the VP post? Yes you guessed right, it was an Ijaw man, no other Niger deltan was good enough , the Attahs, the Donald dukes , the Odilis of this world were better candidates, but the Ijaw leader Edwin Clark was vehemently campaigning for an Ijaw candidate in GEJ. The Ijaws were busy shouting that Niger delta needed resource control, but when the Niger delta was placated with amnesty instead, guess who cornered the lion share and left the rest of the ethnicities in Niger delta scrambling for crumbs? Yes the Ijaws. Niger delta is Ijaw agenda. They use the other Ignorant groups there to push their agenda. |
simplycarro:It was Igbos( Ebitu Ukiwe and Azikiwe) who delivered Igbos who were taken away from us and given to Ijaws in Old Rivers state for exploitation, by pushing and catalyzing the creation of Bayelsa state to separate Ijaws from them( the Igboids) and enable them have a political voice of their own. It was the Igbo dominated NCNC, that financed and ensured that our Anioma brothers separated from us in 1939 by Bernard Bourdillion and handed over to Yorubas for exploitation, were freed from the Yorubas exploitation in the defunct Western region, by helping them get a region of their own, the Midwest with one of them, Osadebey as the premier of the region. Ndiigbo will always look out for the interest of all Igbo speaking people. And we will always oppose this new Ijaw agenda as long as they keep including Igbo speaking groups like Ogba, Anioma, Ikwerre, Ekpeye in it. If Ijaws must have a Niger delta, then they must learn to exclude Igbo speaking groups from it, they( Ijaws) must look towards the Edoids and Ibibios. |

To start with, there are no Ijaws in Akwa Ibom to start with, the Ibenos and Eastern Obolo people are not Ijaws. http://thenationonlineng.net/ijaw-akwa-ibom-stakeholders-disagree-on-oil-rivers-state/ Secondly, Niger delta means Ijaw, nothing more http://newtelegraphonline.com/ijaw-aibom-youths-bicker-over-confab/and nothing less. Nigerdelta is another name for Ijaw republic. The first Niger delta republic was an Ijaw only one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Adaka_Boro The second one is likely to be the same: http://africanheraldexpress.com/blog8/2013/10/04/niger-delta-as-ijaw-colony-a-word-of-caution/ http://www.nigeriannewspapers.today/crack-in-niger-delta-over-alleged-favouritism-of-ijaws-by-jonathan/ The Ijaws hide behind the tag Niger delta to push their ethnic and tribal agenda. Ijaws so far have been the direct beneficiaries of Niger delta struggle. Edwin Clark made it clear to Peter Odili, a Niger deltan, that he, Peter Odili as an Igboid man from Rivers state cannot benefit from the Niger delta oil when Odili was about to be picked as the VP to Yaradua, as long as Edwin Clark was concerned, only the Ijaws should benefit from Niger delta struggle, that was how GEJ emerged the VP and later the President. So the Ijaw through the Ogbia man GEJ reaped the reward of the struggle of the entire Niger delta people. The Amnesty program made for the Niger deltans were all cornered by Ijaws, with Ijaw leaders like Dokubo and Tonpolo getting the lion share, leaving the rest of the groups in Niger delta in the lurch. Ijaws won't allow anything happen in Niger delta without Ijaws being direct beneficiaries of such, they would rather tear the project down than have other groups benefit from it, without Ijaws having a share in it. Niger delta remains an Ijaw propaganda, and Ndiigbo will never allow any Igbo speaking group be dragged into it. Already the Ekpeyes are complaining about the Ijaws agenda in Niger delta. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/11/ijaws-threaten-jonathan-calls-epz-commissioning/ Here was how Ijaws handled cornered and dominated the old Rivers state with the Ijaw tribal agenda, before the Ebitu Ukiwe and Zik delivered the Igboids from their( Ijaws) snare. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/04/rebisi-in-history/ Now Ijaw is building a bigger empire where they will dominate smaller groups. |
