In Ireland, it can be done at the Asylum and Immigration section of the Ministry of Justice, but i don't live in England, however, i suppose it can be done at the Home Office.

Pls i need advice on this one!!!

My brother invited my mum to UK for family visit to see her grandchild but she was denied.

My brother is legally in UK for 7years now, has a Ph.D and lectures in one of their universities. He invited me, my sis and bro for his Ph.D grad last year and we were all given visas. 2 of us attended and av returned. However, reason given for my mum's refusal was that:

we did not show that he wil be able to take care of her expenses while there (he submited his bank account, and credit card details, same ones we used)

that because she is retired and no one is staying with her presently, they are not satisfied that she wil return

that she did not show her account/financial doc (mybro was sponsoring the trip so we did not add her account details, which is not much anyway. her source of income is that she receives money from family)

I dont av the letter right now, but those are the points on it.

How do i go abt the appeal? Is oral or written better. OR Can we just simply re-apply immediately?
All she wants is to go see her grandchild and come back to Naija (tho we filled 2months as period pf stay)

Advice pls
Well, neither appealling the decision nor reapplying for a new visa will produce any overturned result if her circumstances remain the same.
To you and to me, your Mother seems to be a genuine visa applicant for a genuine purpose, but this perspective is unfortunately not good enough to convince the Visa Officer of same. The VO has many reasons to doubt that she will return to Nigeria after her visit especially as she doesn't seem to have any obligation to compel her return to Nigeria.
Also, it doesn't look too brilliant that she doesn't have any source of income except that she is being supported by "family", and that makes her a dependant, and now, she is applying for a visa to visit a person that financially supports her welfare in Nigeria. Therefore, to the ECO, her circumstance is questionable, but yet, many elderly people in her situation do get family visit visas.
Let your brother go to the authority and make an undertaking declaration regarding her intended visit; he should state in the declaration that he will personally foot her every expenses and guarantee her return to Nigeria in due time. Such undertaking should see her through since she is not in position to meet the requirement of visiting visa.

I'm really disappointed at the mentality of some "holy" Nigerian women and Girls, they think it's OK to send emails, OK to read information on-line, OK to brows, but a taboo to date on-line, how do you explain that? One Nigerian woman also told me that the "Anti-Christ" is gaining his ground through Face Book and other similar web communities.
Well, in a reasonable sense, there is absolutely nothing wrong in using the aid of technology to find a desired someone, we are in an advanced world, and if technology can create provisions to help you find a relationship partner, then, why not take advantage of it?

RomanceCould You Marry A Person You Found In The Internet? by Vicjustice(op):
With white people or the Westerners, it is considered the easiest, the most convenient and the most helpful way to meet someone, find love and proceed into marriage or some other lasting or pleasurable commitments. But with Nigerians, it is different.
So, what do you think about online dating, could you marry a person you find online, and if your online chatting and correspondence eventually leads to marriage, would you ever tell someone about how you met each other?
And what is your honest opinion about a couple who who find themselves online, would you despise them or understand that love can come from anywhere, shape or form?
Honest comments please: IS ONLINE DATING FOR YOU?

please dont listening to any agent, they only want your money. I will be make a mistake myself then someone convincing me to make one. the guy told me London kill people with tax payment that there is not even much work there due to the economical melt down and told me to stop wasting time trying to go there. Now the guy is there and am here feeling sorry for myself.
I've repeatedly said it that anyone dum enough to fall victim of unscrupulous travel agent deserves no pity.
Despite all the relentless struggles of Justwise and the others, despite my numerous advice and hard written documentary articles on travel and places, you still came here to complain that you've been misled?
I don't think your agent is that bad, at least, he moved you out of Nigeria, most "agents" would only steal your money and change their phone numbers.
I'm disappointed at you, man, or haven't you read my article in these links?

obotan:
My friend, Steven asked for my opinion on his future marriage. Please let me know your thoughts.
"I am deeply worried about a decision I will soon be making about marriage. We both have been in this relationship for over a decade now, and I recently proposed to marry her. But i am now worried about the future consequences of this decision. She is in Nigeria and I'll have to bring her here. Years ago I watched my friend do thesame thing, but when his wife arrived the US, she changed, no longer submissive, arrogant and traded her identity for peasant american relationships. I am concerned about the future of my decision (sad face)."
obotan:
This is a critical decision and i know the outcomes are unpredictable, but I'm sure if there ever be true love in the relationship (I'm sure there is since it has lasted for a decade) it would outlast any statistics of marital failure in reference to failures associated with bringing one's wife from Africa to the West. I know many men who've regretted ever bringing their wives/fiancees over to the West.
Your friend's marriage taking that turn doesn't necessarily mean that your's would suffer same fate. If really, you've been with her for ages, you should be in better position to know her better than any one else. So now, the question is left for you to answer. DO YOU THINK SHE CAN DO THAT, IS SHE CAPABLE OF DOING WHAT YOUR FRIEND'S WIFE DID?

Guys, am very happy with the way we share our mind and thought on this forum, It really helps someone psychologically.
I applied for my visa in early december 2010, I got refused, ask me why? (For nothing)
I was awarded all my points on the refusal notice, (i.e CAS - 30 and maintenance - 10), what really got me freaked out was the ECO comments stating that: I did not submit an a Level results from epsom college, HuhHuhHuh?? I have never been to epsom college, what was stated on my CAS was what I submitted alongside my application,
If then I was refused because of that, why was I awarded my 30 points?

I have actually applied for administrative review. But when are they going to reply my people?

My school begins orientation 21st of Jan and induction is 27 of Jan,
Am planning of submitting a new application with the administrative review going on, Since is N55,000 that they want again, I will give it to them.
I need to get my life back. I can't think straight (I want to go to school and learn, so I can come back and better my economy)
Sad to hear that, actually, your's is just one other case, the ECOs are very common with making such errors. You see, the magnitude of visa applications received each day is enormous and that makes it seem as if the embassy is under-staffed. The Visa Officers are often overworked and that also helps in their confusion as they mistake one applicant's claims for another.
Your's is not the worst, i've seen an applicant being refused for "failing to provide evidence of communication" with his wife and children where-as, the (22 years old) applicant clearly stated that he is Single.

hi guys, i'm a first time traveller and i intend to attend a conference in rome in april. pls what category will i mark when booking an appointment. there are various categories including but conference and first time traveller so im confused, kindly help me pls. thanks.
If there are options of both Conference and First Time Traveller, then, the suitable category for you is the First Time Traveller since Frequent Travellers do attend conference as well. But if you can slash together or tick both, then, that would be the best.

Hello everyone
Happy New Year. I have a query please. I am on an EEA family dependency visa in the UK and my fiancé is planning to come to visit in May. I was wondering if I am in the position to invite him based on my immigration status here and what docs he would need to provide. He has never travelled and is 38 years old.
Thank you
Sure, you can invite him, but then, you need to take these questions into consideration.
*How old are you?
*Where and how did you meet him?
*Are you in an arranged relationship?
*How much do you communicate?
*How often do you see each other?
*Are you in employment?
*Do you have substantial ammount in your bank account?
*Where would he be staying?
*How is your accommodation details like?
*Who is sponsoring the trip?
*Would he be returning to Nigeria?
*What obligation would he be returning home for?
*Does he have a reliable job?
*Is his bank account encouraging?
*Does he have properties?

Please people, i need your help. My wife and i have numeroeus expired UK visas in our passports and we still have valid 2yrs to both USA and UK. We have a child and want to travel in April. Do we still need to get all those details like invitation letter, bank statement, etc to get her a visa? She was born in October.

Thanks a lot and Happy New Year
Talking about "Invitation Letter", for what purpose are you travelling?
But as for "Bank Statement", that is a must, you are expected to provide your bank details to prove that you're capable of covering the child's expenses and all
