Honestly, with my assessment based on experience, you don't seem to be the kind that would be having problem with the Immigration officers, i just don't think you'd encounter much difficulties with them. Man, you should realise that a person needs to pass eligibility test and be considered credit worthy to qualify for credit and be in possession of a credit card, The immigration officers would consider this as a plus to your reputation.
   Actually, your money may not be seized if you declare it to them, but depending on what job you do, the amount of cash, the source and the purpose of the money, you might have some explanation to do. You really got to be careful with carrying huge sum of money, the authority reserves every right to seize it from you.

I am an ardent reader of this section and it suffices here to say you guys are doing a pretty wonderful job. I wanted to renew my visit visa and learnt a lot and got some guidance just reading through older posts. I didn't post nor ask questions,just read thru and thru, till I got all I needed and put in my application on last friday and picked up my visa today (tuesday). Halleluyah!

ok thanks vic justice. the problem is, i hv a genuie hotel reservation, n i got chatting with an old pal of mine in the uk who said i can stay at his place. i am thinking i cud save my self the 2000 pounds wch is the cost of the hotel reservation n stay with my pal instead.

If this is really the case, then why are you bothered that the Immigration might contact your hotel? Well, the good news is; they would not be interested in you once you are allowed in, they don't usually give concern to your activities while in the country, but then, (though it's unlikely,) you might be subjected to some activity check or questioning during departure.

The amount of cash that you're expected to have on you depends on how long you declare that you're staying for. But it is advantageous to have much money to spend and less days to stay. . . And (like the benefits of having a credit card), your domiciliary account should aid your position.
Finally, £1.500 ponds is a good amount to spend on holiday, but again, that depends on how long you're staying for. Would you like to disclose that?

What you intend to do will do you no good except to land you into lengthy trouble. If you present a hotel reservation document that isn't genuine or that doesn't represents your true accommodation circumstance, you would be liable to a 10 years ban for misleading information. And yes, you're allowed to change your mind, but don't let this contradict the terms of your visa as you wouldn't fancy the implications should the immigration see it as deceit. Be warned.

*  What about your accommodation details?
*  You need to provide document evidence that you have ties and obligation that would compel you to return to Nigeria.
*  If you're married, you need to add your marriage certificate even if you think it is irrelevant.
*  Are the statements of account covering a six months transaction details?
*  By the way, why are you applying with your father's account statement, is he sending or sponsoring you for the seminar?

Hello everyone,
my case is one of kind coz i have applied for study visa in January 2009 i was refused then i appeal against it and i was allowed by the judge in UK i resubmitted my document with new acceptance letter from college the date was 26 Nov 2009 after 11 months of waiting i received my passport back with again refusal that contain only rejection on the base of MY COLLEGE HAS NOT GIVEN A PROPER RESPONSE TO THE OFFICER SO THEY DO NOT THINK THAT I WILL STUDY THERE and i have given again a time of 28 days to appeal against that.
When i have contacted the college they say yes we have receive your inquire and we have approved that he has accepted for the course they have approved that i have submitted the fee for the course but when i have told them about the refusal on that base they said what else can we say are only job is to verify the student details that they are true or no
NOW WHAT CAN I DO?
CAN THEY REALLY DO THAT?
SHOULD I APPEAL AGAIN COZ THE REFUSAL BASE CONTAIN ONLY ONE POINT ?

Perhaps you scan or re-write the exact letter of refusal (you may edit or omit any information that you deem private), i need to get the exact words that the ECO used so i won't be missing something since your write-up is incomprehensive

My cousin applied for a visiting visa during my graduation, she was denied on the fact that she didnt include her course form which seems to be a meaningless excuse, she inculuded with her application her school id card, letter from her department, her tuition fees receipt since her 1 year to 3rd year those seems to be irrelivant to them. We appealed against their decision, got a lawyer and forwarded her application to the Loborough office, they replied and stated the 5th of November (last month) before we could get the hearing date.

To my suprise, up till this moment, I'm still waiting for their mail, ran out of patient and called Tribunals Customer Enquiry Unit this morning and they said the ECO hasnt send them the bundle yet even after the deadline, I asked what to do next, was told to call back in 2 weeks.

Please experts in the house, can you advice me on what to do or should i say what might happen as a result of ECO not responding?

I'll appreciate any input

The reason no one seems to be interested in responding to your post is simply because, you are not seeking suggestions or advice on how to get something done. . ., but rather you're seeking opinions on what is probably the case with the delay that your application is experiencing. Therefore, as no one actually knows the reason for the delay, neither does anyone know why the ECO did not send your application nor do they know what the ECO did with it, it might not be appropriate to "say what might happen as a result of ECO not responding".
   Just do whatever you can to correspond with them and wait and see. A little more patience might help. Cheers

I doubt he would succeed in getting the visa based on the information you gave.
   I'd advice that since he did not have a physical pre-marital relationship with the woman, he has every need to build up a post-marital relationship with her, that would increase his chance of getting the visa.
   He needs to encourage his spouse to be visiting him in Nigeria at reasonable sequences; this is very important to convince the embassy that he didn't just marry her for the document, but that they are genuinely married. If he applies for the visa at this stage and in this condition, his chance may be as good as that of a Molue Conductor applying for an American tourist visa.

when i got my hungary permit it wasnt hard no bank statement was requested from me, and nothing about my work was asked i only tendered my passport,birth certificate and original marriage certificate which was registered in hungary after our wedding in nigeria and with my wife documents. thats all and i got my entrance in 2 weeks, i met my wife on internet and things went well. so pleae feed me back with important answer so i can tell my friend to proceed and hopefully he will get it cuz i very much want him in europe.

What manner of a character are you then? If really you've had an experience with a Schengen Hungary permit for reason of your marriage to a Hungarian citizen, then why have you come here to ask how long it would take your friend to do the same and also to know the kind of documents that he requires for a similar visa?

   Was there any person from the wife's side that was present at her wedding?
   How long have they been married?
   Where does his wife live in?

   How is her financial situation like?
   What is the financial situation of the man like?
   How long have they known each other?
   How often do they communicate and by what means?
   Any prove of communication/correspondence?

   But i disagree with your suggestions to try the non-Schengen countries. Now let's be realistic, Jor-el has been given an indefinite ban by a Schengen-Germany, and his passport has been stamped to this effect, now, what normal country in the whole world would issue its visa on a passport that is bearing a Schengen ban stamp?
   The reality of the situation is, Jor-er might never get a visa for any country for a time indefinite, he needs to sort out his ban and then, reconcile himself with the Schengen territory. there is nothing else he can do about this situation as no country wants to issue its visa on a passport that has breached its visa conditions.
