TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
Waleabimbola: Good morning, please I want to know if it is necessary to fill another online form because I made a mistake with my daughter's name.i wrote EMMMANUELLA instead of EMMANUELLA.
I have already submitted the form online and it was when I printed the hard copy that I noticed.
Please advice.thanks
I wouldn't bother about it if i were you because, that is a very trivia error which will definitely be overlooked or even corrected by the visa officer once he sees the name (as spelled in the passport). There is no way that your application will be affected by your daughter's misspelled name
And to answer your question, it is allowed to abandon a pending application and fill a fresh form, there is no rules broken in doing that. But for real, you don't have to.

lagbaja: Help is needed. I applied online for a general visitor visa a week ago, unfortunately, I am yet to submit the hard copies. However, my travel plans has changed as I have shifted my travel date forward. This will affect my itinery and hotel reservations. Can I put the new dates and new reservations in my hard copies before submission or will it be ok to submit a new application ignoring the previous ?
Simply abandon the pending application and fill a fresh form, there is no rules broken in doing that

TravelRe: Mother Of Boy Who Flies Arik Air Plane On Tyre From Benin To Lagos Speaks by Vicjustice:
The mother should thank God that the flight is not intercontinental because, intercontinental bound planes fly higher: there is no way he would have survived at an altitude of 30.000 feet and above, there is very little or no oxygen in that height.
TravelRe: Mother Of Boy Who Flies Arik Air Plane On Tyre From Benin To Lagos Speaks by Vicjustice:
eluquenson: Mrs Evelyn Ohikhena, the mother of the 13-year-old
boy, Daniel who flew Arik Airplane on tyre from
Benin to Lagos Airport on Saturday has been quizzed
for hours by SSS and FAAN officials.
Evelyn who claims she has never been to the airport
before said she has no clue on how her son got there.
Hear what she told investigators on Monday;
“My son answers Daniel in school and Ricky at home.
I went to my elder sister’s place who put to bed and
when I got home the next morning (Saturday), I couldn’t find him. My daughter told me that they
quarrelled in the night because he woke at midnight
to watch movies and she told him to stop watching
movie in the night and she said he eventually slept in
the parlour while she said she went back to sleep in
the room.
“One of his younger brothers said he saw him
remove all his school books from his bag; so I asked
my neighbours whether any of them saw him and
they told me that at around 5 to 6 am, they heard
sounds that somebody was opening the gate but
never thought it was my son. He doesn’t go out.
What I know is that he is always watching films in the
house but he doesn’t have friends.
“I went to Oba Market police station, they referred
me to Evbuotubu police station, when I got there
they said they will declare him missing after 24
hours and that I should come back the next day.”
“He is always at home, I have never seen anybody
come to look for him and he doesn’t have friends. I
am begging the government to help me, because I
have never been to the airport before, I have been to
Lagos before so they should help me. I don’t know
how he manage to get there but I just thank God that
he is alive.
This young boy nah real crook.. How he managed to
escape security scrutiny at the popular airport still
baffles many.
Hope the government can temper justice with mercy
and set him free.

adeniyi bolanle: review of all documents that i will be submitting again after correction have being made. also sir, is it ok reapply after a week of the refusal?
I do not see any sense in requesting (for) a review of an application that was refused on justifiable grounds, besides, a review could take ages...
Yes, you are allowed to reapply at any time, but if your previous application was refused for reason of unsatisfying financial circumstance, i do not encourage quick re-application

Who told you that Nigerians are "hard working" people? You must be saying this from your own opinion. But you need to come to reality and understand what Nigerians are known for. Get it right, Nigerians do not have the reputation of HARD WORKERS, but of dubious people; goal diggers; corrupt minded people; social benefit cheaters; prοstituting workers; lazy nuisance; romance cheaters; drug peddlers; habitual liars; religious fanatics; righteous hypocrites; loud speakers; superstitious believers and all sorts of negative reputations

jennykadry: In August this year right in my very before, the custom officers in the immigration office used whip on some people. I was treated so rudely in our high commission here that I angrily walked out.

If you read the title I said many Nigerians and not all Nigerians
I've just read through your post again, and I'm consenting to say that I agree with you and I share your thoughts in this.
TravelRe: Many Nigerians Living In Nigeria Hate Nigerians In Diaspora, Jealous Much? by Vicjustice: 6:11pm On Aug 25, 2013
jennykadry: I sometimes avoid the travel section because of the hate some Nigerians based in that shait hole of a country called nigeria, spew. To be quite honest I believe it's just jealousy, jealous of fellow Nigerians who were lucky and blessed enough to get a life outside Nigeria. I know and believe that some of you wished that you could travel outside Nigeria and live in the westernized world for as long as you want instead of visiting with a few months visa and returning back to that cursed nation.

I AM NOT PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN and I have my reason,so the rest of you who wished you had the kind of lives we have here can get your 1 dollar bill and put it where your mouth is. Not too long ago a NLDER started a thread on dual nationality, the way some people who have no international passport let alone visa hated the Nigerians who are dual nationals was enough to cause problems on that thread. Even politicians-the government know that our country Nigeria ruin more lives, causes more harm than good to it's citizens and thought it necessary to fly their children outside the country for a better life, a better education and better opportunities. I am ashamed of that country Nigeria. Renewing a foreign passport in my current location is as easy as and can be done in the comfort of my own home but Nigeria made life hell for a lot of us who wanted to renew their passports. I was treated so rudely in my own country's high commission that I had to walk away in anger. If I walk into any AUSTRALIA High commission, I am treated like a VIP, well taken of, listened to, spoken to with respect and they sort out whatever issues I had with the snap of a finger.....yet the rest of yous expect some of us to clap for Nigeria or come back to that country for good? a country I visited recently and NEPA proved themselves as usual, a country where the citizens were flogged like children at the immigration office in Lagos, citizens like you and I only wanting to get their passports. undecided

A recent thread about a nigerian woman who angrily swore to tear her nigerian passport is trending now and as usual, those haterz are there calling her names. SHUT UP and give her the $300 dollars she wasted there and stop making noise. Many Nigerians have been told to come for appointments only for them to get there and be turned back cos of faulty equipment that had gone bad for months without them telling these people about it. Go to your international airport in Lagos and see the curse that place has become, many things there are key and start cos they are trying to "save electricity".

I am going to say this to all you hating nigerians living in diaspora that you lot should go on your knees and pray to whatever being you serve so that we remain here cos if some of us professionals with high standards decide to relocate back to Nigeria.....ALL OF YOU WILL BE JOBLESS, YOUR JOBS WE WILL TAKE AWAY FROM YOU AND OUR PAY WILL BE QUADRUPLED BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT PEOPLE INTELLECTUALLY BLESSED HAVE GRACED THEIR PRESENCE"......in other words shuuushhhh and be thankful to us cos without us staying abroad, some of you people will be begging on the streets for food.

Don't hate us cos we appreciate countries who have given us more than we could have asked for, don't blame us for not regarding that shait hole of a country called Nigeria. Why should I be proud of Nigeria? why should I have hope in Nigeria?when even the government know that nothing good is forth coming into and from that country, cos if they believed, they wouldn't pay millions to keep their families outside Nigeria.

YES MY NAME IS JENNIFER KADRY AND I TYPED THIS.......Hit your heads and thank you very much. cool
Though, it doesn't apply to every Nigerian in Nigeria, but some of the things you said make sense, perhaps exaggerated though.
But hey, I hope you have hard skin to take the attack that you'd get for writing this. I talk from experience grin

adeniyi bolanle: therefore they are not sure about my intention for staying for the short period as i av stated.
so pls what shuld i do, shuld i just reapply after correcting those mistake or i shuld appleal?
Why would you appeal the decision of an application that was refusal due to your own "mistake"?
Appeal is not an opportunity to correct a mistake nor is it an avenue to plead for mercy, rather, it is a means to challenge a decision that you believe was a violation of your rights or that denies you your due entitlements.
Therefore, it only makes sense to appeal the application that was refused in miscarriage of justice.
By the way, (beside your step dad sponsorship), what exactly in your personal circumstances that qualifies you for a tourist visa?

They will return your documents to you in due time.

isogee: I have been following this post for sometime now. I am from Ghana. but needs a little advice. I have visited the uk on two occassion with two separate visa both family visit. 2011 and 2012, on my last visit I lost my passport whiles in the uk, and I got a new one from the ghana high commission in london. I wish to apply for a new visa, I have got the invitation from my uncle. My question is
1. I wanted to travel this summer but school will be reopen very soon, can I used used the same invitation I have now to apply for winter?
2. I just graduated from school and awaiting for my posting for the National Service what document will I need wen applying in winter?
3. Can I say state I am still a student since I v not get my certificate because I have a trailed paper to write?
4. Should I add the police report I got from the police station in london to the application?
1) If the invitation letter does not have duration date, if the purpose of your travel is still valid and if your uncle is still willing to accept your visit, then it should be ok.
3) Your post graduate service is academical, so, you can still claim to be a student.
4) Sure, the police report is to your advantage

shalon: Thanks Guys for your contributions.Maybe I should just say this, this forum is all about sharing ideas.First of all,I didn't cancelled the hotel cos of money,I did because I couldnt travel as the reserved period, secondly I was never aware that I could ask for an administrative review and since the period which I intend to travel has passed,I never felt it was necessary to reapply cos I wasn't desperate.I applied cos I wanted to travel in December not after that.Lastly It is possible for me to ask my lawyer to email clarifying the aspect of a false credit card.I don't intend to travel to the UK now or in the nearest future.I need constructive advice.
First of all, no one accused you of cancelling the reservation to get back your money, I was only trying to warn those who might want to do such thing as this is the common practice with Nigerian visa applicants.
It is advisable to contact a legal representative to plead your case and bring their error to their attention, this is the only thing that can redeem your reputation and reverse the ban

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
shalon: shalon: Hello guys,I want to share my experience .i was refused renewal based on the following refusal note given to me
You wish to visit for 10days and I am aware that you were previously granted a visit visa. With that application you stated that you intend to spend 7 days and provided hotel reservation but end up spending 1 month. You provided no evidence or any details as to why you stayed longer or how you maintained your self during the extended visit. Furthermore checks by our office revealed that you made hotel reservation using false credit card details(which was a pure lie cos I used my Gtb bank card to reserve it and I subsequently cancelled the reservation cos I could nt travel at the stated period.

In view of the above,I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor.I therefore refused your application .Your right of appeal is limited to the ground blab blab .
I have to say that I am a widely travelled individual with good business here.Been to us,canada, schegen many times, even have a valid 1 year schegen and us visa..

It all happened in late December and I never bothered to write or reapply cos I see them as being unnecessarily racist and just want to be exploiting money from applicants though I didn't apply for two years cos I don't see the justification for paying 73 k as visa fee while us is just 26k and Germany is 12800 for a year visa.
Please I want to know if my case over the false credit card attract 10 years ban because I never used a false credit card cos all I did was to reserve room not to make payment.please advise.
It's not because you stayed longer than 10 days that you're having this problem, it's because other things have gone wrong, and they have now brought your previous stay into question: it is not a breach of visa conditions to stay for 5 months even if you declared that you'd be staying for 7 days, but you may be subjected to explain why you stayed that long and how you manage yourself during the stay.
If the information that you have given is accurate, then you are a victim of circumstance, but you're to blame partially, this will serve as a caution to others who like to book a hotel and then cancel it in order to keep their money: this rampant act may soon force hoteliers to apply restrictions to people booking hotels from Nigeria.
You made a huge mistake by not requesting for administrative review during the window period, it will be near impossible for you to fight it now...
I'm of the opinion that you've been banned for 10 years for this error which the visa officer considers the use of fraud and deception.
Worse still, if your passport bears visa of these countries that you mentioned the UK embassy could contact the embassies concerned to advise them that you're a fraudster and that would mean a wider problem

A frnd of mine, unemployed like me, was granted visa, and he only stated dat he will be returning because he wil be doing his masters soon
There's no need to enter a debate about this, you only need to know the requirements for tourist visa and understand where these requirements can be tampered with circumstances in order to understand the reasons an appeal or a review won't help
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
wola44: Hi,

Question,

Can i use Nigeria Bank Master card ?
Are they going to charge the credit card if i provide it ?
Unfortunately, Nigerian credit cards are not accepted in most western country businesses, many thanks to the fraudulent activities of Nigerian syndicates.
Once before, my brother booked a flight to Ireland from Nigeria, the flight confirmation came up, and the itinerary was issued, but days passed by, and then, one week, two weeks and still counting, but his account wasn't charged. With concern, I advised him to contact Airfrance customer care who later informed him that their system automatically cancels or voids any ticket that is purchased in Nigeria without cash.
So, be aware that same thing could happen with hotel reservation.
Greetings to you all, plz I need advise from u guys. I applied for Uk visiting to go see my mum. She's the sponsor and I submitted the necessary documents. I stated in my application that I'm unemployed but I added my bank statement which has 220k. I was surprised to see my refuesal letter today. The ECO said
"You have stated that you are currently unemployed in your visa application form but have a job lined up for october 2013. I note that you have provided your bank statement. The account shows that large funds were deposited just prior to your application. I am not satisfied this has not been done to artificially bolster the strength of your application. Given that you are unemployed it is unclear where these funds have come from. Your failure in providing any documentary evidence of this leads me to doubt your circumstances in Nigeria. This leads me to doubt your intentions on visiting the UK. Therefore, on the balance of probabilities, I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period not exceeding 6 months or that you intend to leave the UK at the end of the visit as required by paragraph 41(I) and (ii) of HC395.

Section 84(1)(c) of the nationality, immigration and asylum act 2002. Legislation.gov.uk"

I don't know if the ECO overlooked some of my docuements, coz I stated it there that my mum has been funding me, and I added some receipts of d money transfer I've been getting from my mum.

And now I don't know what to do. I was given limited appeal right. Should I review the decision. Will it work? Plz help
There are 101 reasons for the ECO to refuse your application, and as your circumstances are, there is no amount of appeal or review that can overturn the decision

First of all, bear in mind that there is racism and discrimination in every country, including Nigeria, this is a negative fact.
As for the positive things, there is arguably no region in the entire world that is better than Scandinavian region in terms of most of these things that you mentioned, and to ask whether their system of education is up to standard is ridiculous.
As for weather, you need to realize why it is called Scandinavia, and to know that this is a country that can have 24 hours sunlight during summer as well as 24 hours deem-light or darkness during winter: and its winter could be extremely cold and snowing.
I'm yet to meet any Norwegian who doesn't speak English

omobee23: Good Morning Justwise and VicJustice,
I paid money into my brother's account to buy ticket. My maiden name was what I had in my passport at the time of my appeal (an old e-passport), though I am married. It had expired when I was called for my Visa. So I renewed it. My new passport still carries my maiden name as the visa was issued upon my initial details. My brother paid for the ticket with the details I gave him but entered Mrs as title. The good thing is that there is no title in my passport( any passport anyway). Will I be able to change my title with the aiirline? or there is no need for a change of title-I should just leave the ticket.
The title is irrelevant (to airline companies) even if you entered Dr.
Titles are for formalities in order to acknowledge the polite way in which an individual preferred to be addressed
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
Hello All,

I'm in desperate need of urgent advice.

I am very new to this forum so forgive me if my questions have been previously answered a thousand times before...

My partner and I are coming home to get married this year, after dating for almost 2 and half years...

We've gone through the UKBA website and are comfortable in the areas of accommodation and finance

He has his own 3 bed house on a mortgage and lives there on his own.... And he's got a good job earning well over the £18,600.. Threshold...(- he is also British.)

The only problems we have are, I am overstayer on a visitors visa(, and i have overstayed for almost a lifetime)...and I took up employment in my name...

Also last year, I had an op for which I wasn't billed ( well, not yet) as I have an NHS number..

We have been asvised by a lawyer that it is better to disclose the work in a cover letter he writes in support of my application, to the BHC, and he also advised us to call the NHS to pick up the bill first before applying as I could be refused on this basis.

Do you think it's better to call NHS and ask them for a bill or wait until it is raised as an issue at BHC in Naija.

Would you also think it wise to include the work part in the cover letter or not.

Is it better to keep mum on this and If I am called for the interview, and it is asked, them I would open up about it?

Not sure if it helps, I've never made any application in the home office, neither have I come under the arrest or attention of police or immigration in the UK...

Thank you very much....
Even if you don't intend to apply for a visa, are you not supposed to pay your bills and debts?
This is the kind of ungrateful behaviour that causes problem to innocent Nigerian who are genuinely seeking visas.
Well, if you are married to a British citizen (or any other person with full rights of abode,) your old immigration flops and breaches will have little or no negative effect on your spouse visa application: the effect would be that you may be subjected to serious scrutiny in suspicion of involving in a sham marriage with the intent to obtain leave to remain in the UK. The onus would be on you to prove that your marriage is not one of convenience
