Yeecar: Good day Bro. I am a federal Civill servant .I recently got a scholarship to come to the US for a 1 month training . I applied for a B1 visa. An invitation letter was sent to me through d email which I presented to d Consular officer. But suprisingly I was denied a visa . I told her dat a leter of introduction was also given to me by my employer but she didn't ask. Please what can be the reason for my visa denial? I was properly dressed and I was even puting on my ofice I'd card. I am just leaving the embassy shocked and disapointed. Thanks in anticipation of Your quick response as am thinking of reapplying next week.
Invitation letter and Company's sponsorship is not enough to make a visa application successful, your personal circumstances are the key, and i suspect that is the reason for the refusal even though you didn't make mention of your circumstances
I was refused a general vistor visa on stupid grounds, the ECO looked for a fault and decided to pour it on my finances like they usually do, saying they don't think the financial circumstances presented by me is true therefore I can't fund my holiday to the UK and also I can't take money from mu business account to fund a personal trip, I make my money so what's their problem, i've called my immigration lawyer and he is doing the review on my behalf. I hope the decision is overturned and I get the visa

I added my tax clearance certificate I always pay my tax! I just think the ECO thinks the money in my account doesn't belong to me, because he just crowned everything up by saying he doesn't think my financial circumstances are as stated. Which is really disheartening, i'm sure my Lawyer can make a case out of it hopefully because my business is a venture not Limited so I can spend from the account, there is no part of the immigration Law that says so, and it's just a reason so it's a straight forward case
If the lawyer's advice does not correspond with what Justwise had advised, then throw eggs or tomatoes at him because, he's a money grabber taking advantage of your naivety.

My friend, do not waste your money, time and energy on any lawyer because, you stand no ground (whether or privilege), rather use these factors to focus on how to fulfill the requirements.

kclexa: If you are specifically going for your graduation, then staying with you brother or sister is not a problem. All you need to do is present evidence of accommodation payment receipt and a letter from your brother/sister that he/she will be accommodating you for the period.

Do not panic, it would have been a different ball game if you were going for a friend's graduation. But you must ensure the uni does not have restrictions on squatting, in which case I would advice you show funds that can cover hotel bills and specify you will be staying in an hotel.
Remember you are not required to pay for accommodation until you are granted visa, same as flight but show evidence of enough funds.
1) Even if the school authority allows squatting, it can never be an acceptable accommodation to aid her visa application.
2) Hotel has no business with her visa application, so booking or paying for a hotel has nothing to do with her issuance or refusal of visa.
3) Flight ticket is not a requirement itinerary does not mean flight ticket: airlines do not require that a person shows evedence of fund

brownee06: Hi guys,

I will be going for my graduation, so I will just b staying in the Uk for one week. I have put my brothers accomodation which is a school accomodation and it is just a room. From the address it is obvious that it is a one room school accomodation. Will they see this as a problemhuh
brownee06: Really?? Not even ur own brother. Same surname oh. Abi do I have to provide my birth certificate to prove it kwanu. My problem is the idea of two Pple in one room, Weda males or females
The fact that you are not able or willing to provide yourself a suitable accommodation is a dead give-away to the visa officer of the risk you pose.
Considering your given circumstances, i don't see how any visa officer will approve your application.

Returning your passports to you does not mean refusal of visa: if your applications are successful, they would contact you and instruct you to present the passports for visa issuance

drillskillz: My wife has been given a 5 year visa already but am yet to put forward my application.
Does it make sense to state 'unemployed'?
will that not reduce my chances?
If you're applying for a spouse visa, it won't be a problem if you're unemployed provided your wife is financially ok, that she maintains a steady income, that her income exceeds the allowable limit and that she is a habitual resident in the UK.
But knowing that your wife has not yet attained to any of these, I don't see how you can manage to get a visa on the basis of your relationship

drillskillz: Hello Vicjustice
My wife will be travelling to the UK for her PhD in some days.......She is currently on PTDF scholarship that will take up to 4 years ......so am planning to apply for a tier 4 dependant visa soon.....We have been asked to keep some amount of money in her foreign account for a period of 28days ........Presently am not working as i resigned from bank some months ago....PTDF is willing to give me a covering letter introducing me as the husband of the said scholar and also offered to be responsible for my plane ticket....Its also pertinent to state that before now PTDF covers the living expenses of both the husband and the wife but for cost-cutting reasons they have decided to remove the clause for PhD scholars.
Please what are my chances ??
what approach do you think i should make to avoid being denied ?
Thanks
You've asked two questions, one is about your chance; and the other is what to do to avoid your application being refused.
To this I'd say first of all that even your wife's application can not be guaranteed, and by this, I'd say that your chance is extremely low at this stage since you apparently have no serious thing to do in the UK: the only thing that would qualify you for a visa is your relationship, and to meet that qualification, your wife will have to meet the requirements.
To the second question, I'd say, things are easier when done orderly.

brownee06: Hi guys, need some advice.
I finished my masters in Feb, got back in June about 2 days b4 my visa expired cuz the hospital I wz working for needed cover and jst wouldn't let me go.
Now I want to apply for a general visa to go for my graduation which comes up in november. My questions are:

1. I jst started working here in naija last month would dat be a problem cuz dey have asked for an extensive history of employment
2. The fact that I left jst 2 days b4 my visa expired, would dat affect my application?
3. They have asked for National insurance number, what do they need that for cuz I remembered working a little above 20hrs in some weeks while studying. Can dey decode dat with my NI number?

I just think it's beta not to apply at all than to apply and be refused a visa that is why I want to be sure before applying because I'm expecting a COS soon from my previous employer so I don't want any bad records.
1) Definitely YES, you have not earned paid-holiday period, besides, you need to be at least one year in your employment in order to have the full rights to labour law protection.
2) No, that's not a problem except your visa carries a Duration Of Stay remark, and you exceeded the duration of stay.
3) They will use the NI number to investigate you and to do background check on you.
It is only for formality and for credibility purpose that they require you to enter your NI number because, in actual sense, they can fetch that out by your names or/and your date of birth.
It could be a problem if they found out that you breached the conditions of your student visa unless the breaches are pardonably minimal
TravelRe: How Do I Relocate To Saudi Arabia? by Vicjustice: 9:41am On Sep 30, 2013
naijaspeak: Saudi Arabia is one of the strict Islamic country in the Middle east as the government exercise a tight immigration control on foreign wishing to enter the country. Despite all this there are still a large number of foreigners including Nigerians living and working there. Due to. Its vast wealth from oil and gas saudi arabia attracts foreign professioners who are seeking for were to earn decent money. But beyond all this oil riches Saudi Kingdom is a prison yard as your fundamental rights is trampled upon. You will have the big money if you are lucky to get a good job but you will not have the freedom to enjoy your money as the kingdom maintains supreme control over the way they would want to live. Western style way of life is restricted to the barest minimun. You still need and exit visa to leave the country just like that of qatar if you went to saudi on a work visa. If you are a christian there are no church to worship as the strict islamic policy which is maintained by the country forbids that. Nevertheless, saudi is a good place to work and earn big especially for doctor, nurses, pharmacies. To work in saudi Arabian you have to secure a job first , your employer will then send you the documents you need for your immigration formalities. I would suggest you search websites like www.bayt.com www.gulftalent.com www.naukrigulf.com for employment information. You should study arabic language as knowledge of this language will assist you in your job search. Another good option is to find a job in Dubai (( UAE ) or Qatar and use it as a starting point to launch your job dreams in the nearby Saudi arabia. I have one little secrets the Saudi, Qataris and Emiratis (Dubai national ) discriminate when it comes to preferences as they would rather want an American, British, canadian or Australian doctor, nurses etc although some africans, asians mostly indians, pakistanis, and philippinos have been contracted at diiferent point in time of which they have secured employment and residency. I would advise you use google to search for hospitals and then find out if there are job openings.
I'm impressed at the time, the effort and the patience that you offered to narrate this information.
Well done.

FrontPageLawyer: Good afternoon sirs. Will be applying this week for UK visa.

I have a bar/shawarma outlet that has been running for 6months, but it was incorporated September 2013 under business name not limited liability as I already have a limited liability which i use to run my contracts but not often.

The bar now has an account which runs daily but no tax clearance as i understand i am only to pay vat at every month and not company tax since it's a business name; as explained by FRIS, but for the other company i have the tax clearance certificate and also have my personal income tax card issued by Lagos state government.

The application will be supported with my current/dom account which have been running for 3years with a good closing balance and the following documents, marriage cert., wedding pictures, birth certificates, business receipts, house rent receipts and agreement,

Question:

(a)Will i be qualified for a visa knowing fully well that my company A has no good closing balance, company B runs daily with four staffs but newly incorporated.

(b)Which Identity card will I use to support my application if I will be submitting both company's documents.
Thank you sirs.
If you are applying for a visa as a self employed/company owner, ensure that your "company" is officially recognized and is legitimate is every aspect: including the legitimacy of your staff in regard to taxation.
Even If you you own the company, you can't use a company's account as evidence of fund if the purpose of your trip is not official.
Lastly, it will be unreasonable to present house rent documents in support of a visa application in Nigeria, visa officers would be surprised to see a Nigerian tenant applying for a UK tourist visa

She's not one of us, so she might not have understood your Nigerian English/expression.

Well, with the understanding that you are gathering money from every resource possible to meet the financial demands, it would be reasonable for the embassy to see that you can't comfortably finance yourself without recourse to public funds: hence they may consider you a social welfare and an immigration risk whilst in the UK.

Can i apply for a Longer-term visa 2Years this month?? Thanks BOSS!
Long term visas are issued on the basis of necessity; for regular travellers who are constantly in need of a visa, it is not issued on sequence.
The question is, are you applying for a long term visa because, you desire it or because you need it?
If you think that you need a long term visa, then you can apply for such

Apart from the withdrawal of the fund, i doubt that the bank account has up to six months transaction records that meet the requirement: the embassy will most likely investigate and detect the withdrawal.
Yes, under the data protection acts, a bank may not disclose your privacy to anyone or any company, but a government authority (including an embassy) is exempted from this regulation.
Your action qualifies a fraud, you could get the 10 years ban for using deception.
Note: By entering your signature on the terms and conditions of the application form, you have given your consent to the embassy to do background check on you
