Please, Nairalanders, who of these 2 is doing a good Samaritan service: 1) Worry_359 who warns that there could be fire on the mountain, run-run-run, or 2) Ike4live3 who wants to encourage people to go on a trip to the mountain? |
rakisha: Good morning everyone. Pls can anyone help me. What does this sign mean? I was issued a UK visa in one of d free visa pages but when I checked the last page, I saw this. Pls help. Thank you rakisha: Thanks justwise. Pls I am a JJC in travelling and UK matters. Does the stamp mean anything? l have asked several people who said their passports have never been stamped like that before. If you got your visa at the UK embassy, why does the stamp or the place of issue bother you, or did you get it at the embassy at Oluwole? |
xixiade: Please, can you guys tell me what biometrics are used for? Does it mean if I apply for asylum in Finland for instance and I get rejected, the next time I go to lets say the US embassy or the Japanese embassy to apply for a visa, my biometri would reveal to them I already got rejected for asylum at the Finnish embassy. Once again, help me as I really want to know what these finger-prints taken at the embassies are meant for. Or better put, what do the Various embassies do with those biometri/finger-prints taken? Thanks! It means that your fingerprints and the data collected from you at the Finnish embassy has been integrated into the Schengen Information System (SIS) in particularly, and the EU countries in general. This information is not accessible to the US or any other country outside the EU, but it could be shared to them on request and on diplomatic grounds. Be advised that it will be a terrible mistake with grave consequences to try to hide this from the US or Canadian embassy, you would be banned for life. When you go to apply for a US visa, it will be wise to admit that you've been refused a visa at the embassy of Finland, but avoid giving details of your failed asylum attempt since you don't want them to know the high risk that you pose to the US immigration. But if the issue of your failed asylum comes up, it is wise to admit it as failing to do so will disqualify you from the US forever: you have only one chance to redeem yourself at the US embassy, so don't mess up the chance |
ebony9ja: @ vicjustice,I didn't remember that the passport has an American visa and contains your travel history. Well, some countries allow their citizens to hold two valid passports at one time, perhaps you can check with the Nigerian immigration to see if it is allowed |
ebony9ja: I need to recall my passport urgently!!You can withdraw your application by sending a request letter or an email to have it withdrawn. But don't expect the embassy to work in haste to meet your schedule because, withdrawing your application does not mean that your documents would be returned in a hurry, it just means that you change your intentions. Therefore, it may take up to 2 weeks to have your passport and other documents returned to you as every document that you submitted will still have to pass through their verification process and be photocopied before returning it. If I were you, I'd apply for a new passport and condemn the former |
kaykad: pls how do I get a new application form as I heard that it has changed, and what is the mode of apply here in Nigeria do I need to go to vfs at ikeja as I hav all my docs in placeGo to: www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk |
riteaide: Oversabi. Did you not see the part where I said from personal experience in my beginning posts? Like you really have to validate what I say or do not say. You are so full of yourself. You don't even know me, you're only reading my post in a free-for-all forum and you're already judging my personality? Well, would it be wrong for one to consider you a very irresponsible someone from the way that you argue aggressively and call people names because they see things different from you? |
Hey guys, I was denied visiting visa like 4 weeks ago. So I decided to get a lawyer to help me send administrative review to the embassy. And I got this message below frm d law firm claiming it was from embassy. Could d embassy have sent that kind of reply. I need to hear from u guys Solicitors Letter Template 1.docx Harvard Chambers Dear Sir/Madam, *Re: Visa Application of Jimmy Enitan Sonde* Thank you for your letter dated 30 th August 2013, which has been passed to me for reply. I have reviewed your client’s application in light of your correspondence. However I am satisfied that the decision made on the evidence provided remains correct and in accordance with the Immigration Rules. Your client is welcome to submit a fresh application any time at any of our visa application centres. If they decide to re-apply, an attempt should be made to address the concerns outlined in the refusal notice. I cannot however guarantee the outcome of any future application. riteaide: There are many, and it would depend on the person's circumstances. I invited my adult brother to the UK last year before I left and all we hammered on was because we were close and I had insisted an sponsoring his visit because I wanted him to visit, especially since his job didn't pay well at the time. This was allowed. We just showed how close we and reasons he would return back.If your story is true, it wouldn't have taken you so long to present it, but for the fact that you had made series of replies before giving your story to make a point, I'm of the opinion that you're just making it up to back up your claim: I find no credibility in your afterthought story |
justwise: An adult can sponsor another adult for medical treatment but not for leisure trip to the UK, if you can't afford foreign holiday comfortably then don't bother going to BHC hoping that they accept the story that another adult is sponsoring you for holiday.Exactly. |
talitakumi: I was issued a family reunion visa last month with the hope of travelling soon, is it advisable to book for a-one way ticket, since im going there to reunite with my family. Pls i need ur advise on this issue. ThanksOne-way ticket (from Nigeria) is as equivalent as return ticket except that (return way) tax is not added. The reason for the expensive one way ticket (from high immigration risk country) is because, in the event that a traveller is refused entry, and is to be deported, the airline won't loose money as the deportation cost is already included in the original one-way ticket |
dalobaba: Hello. I wanna reapply but I noticed a letter written by my aunty out of the document she sent to me has been removed. I guessed it was removed by the e.c.o. What shuld I do? I hope I don't need it anylonger. Thanks. Waiting to hear from uSuch letter will not be returned to you since it was addressed to the embassy or/and produced for the purpose of the visa application: you may need another letter for another application |
riteaide: Is it strange that a brother inlaw can sponsor his relative by law? Just because it won't work for some people, as would many other comparable circumstances, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Anyone can sponsor anyone, especially a relative, and better when relationship with the sponsor and reason for sponsorship can be reasonably established.I disagree with you on that "anyone can sponsor anyone" because, i know that there are very scanty circumstances in which it may be considerable for an adult tourist to be sponsored by another adult. riteaide: reasons could be offered choice especially when the sponsor is financially capable, and is willing to sponsor. The onus on the applicant is usually to prove return by showing circumstantial ties and consistency. If a person is able to "prove (the tendency to) return by showing circumstantial ties and consistency" then why would he need a sponsor? I'm asking because, it is easier to raise fund for self-sponsorship than to prove home tie-something to return home for |
Hey guys i wanted to find out if it is possible for someone to use an account previously used by another person as an evidence for money available (28 day ish) after that person has used it.thanks
If the person that previously used the account is your brother and the sponsor is your parent: and ultimately, if there is evidence of financial capability, why not? But if otherwise, I don't see how you can pull it through |
Does anyone know what happened to fancy-arena website? The website www.fancyarena.com was new, but the growth was remarkable and was ranked inside 300.000 (by alexa) within a few months: and it seemed to be a prospect. Resembling facebook in appearance and colours, it seemed to feature many of the things that facebook features, and that made some people assume that it would be a Nigerian version of facebook in future. Does anyone know how it got suspended? |
ikechiozo: Please dear Nairalanders, i am in need of your advice in applying for a study VISA to Belgium for my masters.. I have applied for the VISA 2yrs ago but was denied on the grounds of insufficient financial means which i believe is quite justified as my sponsor didnt have enough money or income to show as required in their laws. The relationship of your sponsor to you is the key, it is preferred if your sponsor is your parent, and it will be a bit considerable if a (biological) brother or sister is: but if you are presenting an uncle, an aunt, an in-law, a cousin, a family friend or whoever/whatever good-samaritan as your sponsor, you would be refused again |
justwise: ...good reason like?Good reason such as, if the applicant is disabled: for example, a blind adult can be sponsored ![]() |
Fulaman198: LOLLLLL what a great thread. Also kiss_ikebe are you married?Check her profile at babefishing.com, the answer is there |
Seamareggae: Boss vicjustice! Pls what is the survival rate for illegal immigrants in turkey, d kinda job offer I wud get, nd how man fit get documents over dey, Pls help educate a bro tinkin of a way forward? Why Turkey? I hope you're not one of those who have the opinion that whatever country that is not in African is OK for studies and earning a living? You may as well looking at Iraq, after-all, it's not in Africa. I've spent a considerable period of time in Turkey, residing in Topkapi area of Istanbul. Though, the country is a charming place, but it's not encouraging in many terms. This is a country where i mostly think twice about public transportation for fear of Kurdish terrorist attacks on the local metros, trams, trains and buses. I was in Eminönü when a suicide attack was carried out by a Kurdish woman in Taksim square, luckily, the bomb detonated prematurely before she could reach her target destination. I didn't see the bomb blast with my eyes neither did i see the catastrophe because the area was sealed by Turkish Jandama; in fact, i didn't even know that such incident took place, it was later in the day that i saw it on TV: That tells how much one passes through the shadow of death without knowing it. Well, you may try Turkey if you want to live by Faith owing to the quote "even if i pass through the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil" I'm not saying that Turkey is evil, I just meant it is not the place for hustler except you want to deal of narcotic stuff or you propose to enter Greece through iki-iki (manoeuvring through mountains) from there. And as for job, Turkey is very industrialised, in fact, more industrialised than many countries in the EU. But the wages are not encouraging, and yet you might not get a nice job for reason of language knowledge. Most Nigerians in Turkey are involed in Human trafficking, drugs and frauds, but there are some who do (what is known as) shabu-shabu menial jobs. The term "shabu-shabu" is a Turkish word which means: Quick-Quick. This is the most common word you'd hear from a Turkish employer who has no other means to communicate with his cheap employee who knows little or no Turk. So it's in the interest of the employer that his employee understands that one will be paid according to the measure of his sweat and that lazying around nor rest time will be tolerated |
donchichi: Please, Does anyone know if the UK embassy grants 1yr general tourist visas?YES. Though, the most commonly sought visas are the ones for 6 months and 2 years, but there is also for 1 year under same category |
Haustraliah: Am admited to a university in lithuania, can someone tells me about survival rate, and jobs for internationals students in this part of Europe. What do you mean survival rate, is Lithuania a war zone? |
riteaide: Anybody can sponsor you as long as you can show relationship. And it's good to mention potential sponsors where they ask if you receive support from family just incase.O yeah, even your brother-in-law can sponsor you with his own life savings to travel to travel to the UK for your own vacation? |
chaircover: Thanks everyone for your responsesI thought you were talking about travelling to Europe with an expiring passport, now I see you meant travelling to Nigeria with such. Well, by rights, you do not need a valid passport to enter Nigeria, all you need is a proof of nationality, and an expired passport is a valid proof of that. But unfortunately, we have immigration officers who are happy to use any excuse to zap money out of travelers, even if that means infringing your fundamental rights. In normal countries, immigration officers are happy to welcome their citizens who are returning home(even a driver's license or birth certificate are enough to let them in), but not so with the Nigerian immigration officers: these wicked beings are ready to make you spend 10 hours at the airport just to frustrate you and bring you to comply with their demands |
flirtynonye: It was a sight on Thursday the 5th of September at the Lagos-Ibadan express way at about the hours of 12 and 1pm when a vehicle on high speed caused a ricocheting damage to eight other vehicle. What is your definition for "Express-Way"? |
anonymous6: So true, most likely the Caribbean but not Nigeria lol. The OP is on the wrong forumI beg to differ, there is nothing wrong in being in a popular forum like nairaland, to promote one's services |
PhysicsHD: For Ireland, I can't remember the book I read it in just now, but I'll look for the quote again. Then, you should be talking about Spain, not Ireland |
IrishBebey: Not misleading, that depends on you definition of modelHow about giving us your own definition? Not that I want to make things hard... , but I think it would make sense to explain this so comprehensively |
IrishBebey: Lol, I guess I know what you mean, just not willing to undisclosedWell, I'm interested to hear too |
Tegese: Please, where do I find her, I'm interestedHow many do you need to find, or you believe in that four wives thing |
IrishBebey: Sorry, I meant ABOUTYou didn't have to, we know ![]() |
